Chambers masterfully bridges the gap between formal music theory and commercial intuition, turning abstract tension into a precise, repeatable workflow. It is a lucid blueprint for anyone looking to replace guesswork with professional sonic engineering.

Billboard Producer Shows You How to Make Beats
Added:What's good everyone? My name's Chambers. Welcome to my studio. I'm a two-times gold Billboard number one producer. I've worked with some artists like these guys. And if you want to see all the songs that I produced, check out the discography playlist right here on [music] the channel. I'm going to make a beat from scratch today and walk you through my entire process from start to finish. And since it's summer now, I'm starting off the season with a huge sale, 40% off everything. That's all my drum kits, sample packs, individual courses, and definitely the online class with over 100 course videos fully taught by [music] me, plus seven of my kits included for free. Just use code summer40 and take advantage of it before it's gone. So, I'm going to keep it pretty simple with some minor chords and I'm going to play it pretty quickly like this.
If I take this middle note, this F, and drop it down one semitone, one note, down to E, >> [music] >> that gives us more of a tense, dark feel. So, I'll play it more like this.
All right, let's record it.
Switch into the 1/3 beat grid and I'm going to quantize it.
D minor triad, we have our one, we have our three, we have our five. To add that tension, we take our three and we drop it down to the two in terms of the D minor scale. We have our one, two, three, four, and our five right here.
I'm using the one, the three, and the five to form a chord. Very simple music theory stuff, but it's important to get these basics down. I'm going to put some velocity on it just to >> [music] >> That's what takes it from being robotic to being more human.
I'm going to go into my favorite drum kit that I ever made, my iconic two kit, and I'll just grab like a snare, a hi-hat, and open hat. To match how short and energetic the strings are, I want very short and sharp drum sound. So, I got a snare, very short, very sharp, hi-hat, and open hat. This kind of stuff is very important because your drum sound selection will make or break the beat.
I'm I'm going to go more spaced out like this.
Actually, I might do boom boom boom.
>> [music] >> Trust me, once we layer that with the 808, you're going to hear how crispy it gets. This is insane.
>> [music] >> Maybe I'll add another one.
I have a different sound here. This is a viola.
And we'll play the same thing just up an octave.
And again, go for the velocity.
One of the most important things to think about when making beats is contrast. So, since we just went with the high strings, now it's time to do a lower instrument.
>> [music] >> Listen to how much more the energy picks up with just the addition of these two instruments.
>> [music] >> So, next I'm thinking we could do a choir. I'm going to alternate between If our A is the five in the D minor scale, six is the A sharp up here.
So, I'm going to go >> [music] [music] >> And your key points for quick tension, remember it's the three right here, just drop it down to the two. And you also have the five right here, just pick it up to the six. That's such a small music theory technique that still makes a big impact, but there's so much more to learn. My online class goes incredibly detailed into everything about music theory, from minor chords to major chords, augmented, diminished. And then we go more advanced with it, like how to [music] break the rules of music theory.
I've been building this platform for the past four years, putting together every resource I wish I had when I was starting [music] out. On top of over 100 course videos, you're also getting seven of my best sound kits included completely [music] free. I bring it up because I don't want you to miss out on the summer sale. Use code summer40 for 40% off the online class, no matter what plan it is. Link is down below. I'll see you in class. Time for my favorite part, the 808.
Going straight back to Iconic 2.
It might be asteroid.
So, I want to do the boom boom boom.
>> [music] >> Like that. Maybe drop this down 1 2 3 4 5.
>> [music] >> These are 1 and our 5 if we count up the scale is A. I love to use the 1 and the 5 in my 808 patterns. So, I might go from 5 to 1 to 5 back to 1, just flipping through the octaves.
>> [music] >> I told you, once you combine this open hat with this 808 from Iconic that's the key to that crispy sound everybody wants so bad. I'm going to take the Chambers 808 from Iconic 2.
We're going to reverse it and we're going to shorten it down like this.
>> [music] >> There it is.
>> [music] [music] >> That's insane. Oh, and fun fact, did you know you could get this kit for 40% off too with code summer40? I mean, these 808s are crazy.
>> [music] >> We got to get the zap sound, of course.
We got to get >> [music] >> Ooh, wait. Snap to the tambourine.
>> [music] >> That's fire.
Four zap.
Ooh.
Oh my goodness.
>> [music] >> And the best part, look at the mixer. I ain't even put the drum sounds in here.
They just sound crazy straight out the box like that. It's nothing but the best quality sounds. That's why it's the only kit I use when I work with major label artists. So, I'm going to make a third section. This time I'm going to make that 808 pattern unique and we'll end it off with some crazy boom boom boom boom boom.
>> [music] >> Wait, what if I did a clone of the Chambers 808, kept this one normal, put it into the new regular Chambers 808?
>> [music] [music] >> Just complete 808 switch. That's fire.
Yeah, so that was fire. I'm about to play you guys the full beat. Again, if you want to get nice at music production, like actually have access to the resources that will make a difference in your work. I teach every single video to be as easy and understandable as possible. So, if you want to learn at your own pace with course videos you can actually follow along with, plus get seven of my kits included free, I highly recommend the online class, especially while it's 40% off with code summer40. And if you want the hardest drums in the world I just used in this beat, that's iconic, too.
Also 40% off. All links are down below.
Thank you all so much for watching. Have a great day and I'll see you in the next one. Peace.
