The Highwayman total lesson I'll explain in a detailed way. So, basic English I will use it in the explanation ma and also in middle of the explanation, I'll use Telugu also for both convenient, okay? So, The Highwayman was written by Alfred Noyes, okay? So, whenever you are learning about the author, whenever you are learning about the lesson, no, you need to understand the summary, okay? As you all know, okay? So, summary is very important. The format of summary is important. Any question they might be asking from this lesson in unit number one first lesson for part B. This is the way you need to write it. Any question, only summary you need to write it.

Alfred Noyes was a British famous poet. Okay? So, he was a famous British poet. He was born in 1880 and died in 1958.

[00:01:39]The Highwayman is one of the most famous poems and it was published in the year 1906.

[00:02:57]The poem is set in rural England during the 18th century and it is divided into two parts followed by an epilogue. Okay.

[00:03:33]The poem begins on a dark windy night. A handsome Highwayman rides through the moonlight to the meet Bess at her father's inn.

[00:03:44]So, here what is the story has been started means it was a very dark and a windy night, it seems. Okay.

[00:03:51]Like a rain, like a dark, like that the weather is there. And a handsome highwayman is there who is riding through the moonlight. In the dark moonlight, no, he was riding that so he is a handsome he was very handsome and a highwayman. We were saying that highwayman, okay? So, to meet for whom? To meet Bess at her father's house.

[00:04:15]Okay? So, the hero hero is nothing about the highwayman, okay? He hero is riding through the moonlight to meet the young girl. Who is that young girl? Bess.

[00:04:29]He is dressed in rich clothes and arrives on a beautiful horse. So, the hero over is there, no? The the person highwayman, he was very dressed very well it seems like a rich clothes like that and he's getting in the horse, no? He's riding the horse, no? So, the horse is very beautiful it seems. The two lovers meet secretly because the highwayman is a wanted man.

[00:04:57]Okay? Before leaving, he promises Bess that he will return the next night even if he is to face the danger. So, the person the highwayman and the Bess will meet secretly, okay? Why because the person who is there the highwayman is a wanted person. Means somebody's searching for him.

[00:05:18]And he was giving promises to the Bess that tomorrow next night means tomorrow night I will be arriving as usual. So, even though he is facing some danger also, but still he will promise the Bess. Okay, that he will return in I will return the next night so he will tell that, okay? So, their secret meeting is watched by Tim the ostler who also loves Bess. See here same like a tragedic cinema love story it will be like that only. So, hero is a highwayman, Bess is a heroine, >> [snorts] >> and the wherever they are meeting secretly, the other person will see them. Who is the other person? T I M, Tim. Tim is a person who is already loving Bess. So, he's also loving Bess.

[00:06:05]Okay? So, that fellow will see these both lovers at that secret place. Out of jealousy, okay? He will get the jealousy, you know? So, the Tim informs the king's soldiers about the highwayman. Means, soldiers is searching for the hero, no? So, what this fellow will do means he will tell that king's soldiers that he's that highwayman is there in this locations, like that he will tell about the highwayman.

[00:06:33]The soldiers come to the inn the next evening to capture him. When they fail to find him, they tie Bess to her bed and placed a loaded musket in front of her.

[00:06:46]They plan to use her as a bait so that they can kill the highwayman when he arrives. So, next evening when the king's soldiers were when there to get to catch that highwayman, so the highwayman was not there. So, what they'll do whatever the at that place the Bess will come, no? So, they will lock the Bess. So, automatically the highwayman will be coming, no? So, definitely will arrives. So, that is the thing. Next, as night grows darker in that evening, the the hero will not come, so they will catch that Bess. As night is growing darker, Bess hears the sound of the highwayman's house horse coming towards the inn. So, she will realize that the highwayman is coming with the help of that sound of the horse. She realizes that he is walking into a deadly trap. Means, the Bess is nothing about a heroine. So, heroine what she will think means So, he was coming into the trap only, no? So, she realizes that since she cannot speak or move freely, she bravely suggests and struggles to reach the trigger of the musket with her finger. So, anyway, she want to help the highwayman that here we should You should not come. So, that she is trying some other thing, but she is can't She can't explain uh this freely, no? She can't speak speak freely. She can't move wherever she want to do. So, she'll use her brain and what she will do means she'll reach to the trigger of the musket and she will She will reach that trigger of the musket and she will see that finger.

[00:08:29]Okay. So, finally, she puts the trigger.

[00:08:32]The gun shoot kills her instantly, but also warns the highwayman about the danger. So, the hero is coming, ma.

[00:08:41]Heroine is able to She realized that the hero is coming. Okay. She She need to help him at any way. So, what they will do means the persons who locked that Bess, no? She will slowly reach to that trigger of the gun. Like it's like a gun type and she will press with her finger.

[00:09:00]She pulls the trigger. So, automatically, the gun shoot will kills the Bess. Automatically, the hero will realize that something is happening here. He was in danger. So, like that, indirectly, she wanted to help him.

[00:09:13]Okay. Hearing the shot, he returns his horse around and escapes. So, what happened? So, after hearing that shot, the hero brilliantly will go to go back to his horse and he will escape. The next morning, the highwayman learns that Bess sacrificed her life to save him.

[00:09:36]Later next morning, he will realize that to save him the Bess has lost her life.

[00:09:42]He is heartbroken and filled with grief and anger. Instead of running away, he rides back towards the inn to take revenge and face the soldier. So after realizing that he was very angry, that means the hero is very grief and anger. So instead of going back he will go forward only to face that soldier to take the revenge that heroine was killed by them, no? So the soldier shoot him dead on the highway. Okay? So here what happened? The soldier shoot him. That means the soldier will shoot the highwayman also.

[00:10:20]So he will also automatically die.

[00:10:22]So where he will shoot that the soldier shoot him dead on the highway. So the poem ends with a ghostly epilogue. It says that on cold winter nights people believe that spirits of the highwayman and Bess still meet at the old inn.

[00:10:41]Means he was killed by that inn only, no? Means in that place only, no? So the poem is little bit having a horror fear also. What they'll say say that? So some people will think that in winter's night uh in that place and the highwayman and the Bess will meet like an old inn. Like they will believe as a spirits. Means ghost.

[00:11:05]Their love continues even after death, showing that true love never ends.

[00:11:12]The poem teaches that true love is based on loyalty, courage, and sacrifice. It also shows that jealousy and betrayal can destroy innocent life. Through this emotional story and beautiful descriptions, The Highwayman remains one of the greatest romantic ballads in English literature. So what is the moral of the story, ma'am? So, here it is a moral of the story is a true love even after the death also that two two pure even soul that souls were there, no?

[00:11:45]They were doing meeting like that. That is called a true love. Okay? You people are >> [clears throat] >> Gen Z kids now. You don't know about the true meaning of love. I think I'm saying correct only. So, here in this lesson we realize that how a romantic true love story should be.

[00:12:05]See, every time love story is not about something like whatever you people are thinking it is something not about the lust or anything it might be. It is in this poem what we can get to know is it is a pure pure souls where they have sacrifices their each lives for the sake of other poor people, the person who loved for them. It is called a true love.

[00:12:32]A mother and daughter will have a true love. A brother and sister will have have a true love. A father and daughter will have a true love. Okay? True love is not about something about a boy and a girl, young boy and a young girl. It is nothing about a relationships where we will show the true intentions to create that empathy, sympathy, love, care, everything to that persons. Yes?
