The Cost of Living Crisis Is So Bad Americans Are Fleeing To Other Countries

[00:00:00]The cost of living crisis here in the United States is so bad that Americans are actually fleeing to other countries.

[00:00:08]They are going to places like Thailand and Portugal. Even people going to Mexico and to South America because they say it's safer, it's more affordable, and they can actually live a good life.

[00:00:23]I'm going to show you something.

[00:00:27]I'm 48. I'm a registered nurse. I live in St. Pete, Florida, and I am leaving the United States to move to Thailand this September.

[00:00:35]>> You know what's crazy? Is that more and more people are coming out and saying that they're moving. They are not living in the United States anymore, and there's a few reasons why. Number one, they don't feel safe. Number two, they don't like our leadership, but again, this isn't about politics here. And the third reason why is because now they have a job, an income that they can actually work remotely. They can work in another country or even another state if they want to, and it's incredible.

[00:01:04]But here is the real reason.

[00:01:06]More and more people are leaving the United States because we have a cost of living crisis here in the US. The cost of housing is outrageous. Healthcare is insane. Food costs keep going up. Gas prices go up and down. And if we want to do anything with our life, if we want to eventually retire, we have to save.

[00:01:27]Problem is, you got nothing to save at the end of the day.

[00:01:31]Many people are living paycheck to paycheck as we speak. But, I want to go over some of these things, and I want to explain why people are leaving and touch on that because this is the bigger picture. That we have a cost of living crisis here in the US, but it shouldn't be so bad that people are leaving the country. But in this case, they actually are. Watch this.

[00:01:53]>> My husband and I finally made the difficult decision to leave the United States.

[00:01:58]It was not an easy decision and it came from a lot lot lot of conversations, but we finally realized we're fighting to stay somewhere that not only is he unwanted, but we're fighting to stay at a place that's just falling apart more and more each day and becoming an unrecognizable place.

[00:02:16]>> You know what's interesting about what she just said?

[00:02:19]And this we if we're finding this more and more where the United States or certain parts of the United States are becoming very difficult to live in if you are from another country.

[00:02:32]If you are from China, if you're from, you know, the Middle East, you're from Mexico, somewhere in South America, it's becoming a little more difficult because now you got to worry about uh you know, certain agents going after you and after your family, harassing you in some cases.

[00:02:52]But, then people are now asking the question, "Why am I fighting to stay here in the United States when I'm not wanted by many people?

[00:03:03]Why am I fighting to stay in the United States when it's cheaper to live in Mexico or or Panama or even Brazil?

[00:03:11]Why am I fighting to stay here in the United States when I could get better health care somewhere else?

[00:03:17]Why am I fighting to stay in the United States when I'm doing this because I want to make sure my kids have the best education possible?

[00:03:25]The United States is far from number one when it comes to education.

[00:03:30]Why are we fighting for all this? That's the big question. I want to keep playing this.

[00:03:35]>> My husband came here to study English and to be part of >> [clears throat] >> you know, everything the United States had to offer, which was a better life.

[00:03:42]The irony. Let me tell you a few things that I'm also forfeiting as a US citizen that our country fights so hard to protect their interest.

[00:03:51]I am now forced to go live in another country just to preserve my marriage.

[00:03:56]This comes with leaving my family behind, leaving my law license behind that took me years and years to get. I'm not licensed obviously in another country, so I have to find an entirely new profession and start over entirely.

[00:04:12]Being a disabled veteran, someone who broke their back and both of their hips in the military, I am now forced to forfeit my personalized care plan that I have worked the last decade to develop with my physicians.

[00:04:26]>> So, somebody that used to be in the military, is a US veteran, now has to go abroad, go to some other country, all because the United States isn't good enough.

[00:04:38]Because the her the her husband isn't wanted here in the US.

[00:04:45]They're they're leaving the United States.

[00:04:48]Th- This isn't a a one one-off story.

[00:04:52]This is more and more common.

[00:04:54]Look at this one.

[00:04:55]>> In less than a month, I leave Miami to officially move out of the country.

[00:04:59]Let's talk about why I decided to leave the US in the first place. Number one is health. Miami has now given me mold toxicity on two different occasions in two different buildings. Where I'm moving to is actually just as equally moist, but because I'm going to be Airbnb-ing, I can move around and I'm not going to be tied to a lease anymore.

[00:05:15]Two is value. Where I'm moving to, where your US dollar gets you is like no other. I can get a 90-minute lymphatic drainage massage for literally 20 bucks.

[00:05:26]For my rent here in Miami, I can pay half the price, have a villa with a cleaning person every day, and a pool.

[00:05:33]>> My guess is she's probably moving to like Bali, because that's about what you're going to get. Okay?

[00:05:41]There it's still very moist in Bali, but the cost of living is better.

[00:05:47]You can your dollar can go much further.

[00:05:50]For a lot of people are doing or like content creators, influencers online, social media people, or maybe they just have a remote position.

[00:06:00]Going to Thailand is great.

[00:06:02]Yeah, you you can do so much there.

[00:06:04]But here's the reason why I'm bringing this up. And this is the reason why I think this is a big deal. Right now, more and more people are saying that the United States isn't what it used to be.

[00:06:14]The United States is well, far from other countries.

[00:06:19]Why wouldn't we just go and live in another country? Why wouldn't I just take my family, go live in another country?

[00:06:25]Where it's cheaper.

[00:06:26]It's potentially safer.

[00:06:29]Right? You still have all the exact same amenities. Education, possibly better.

[00:06:34]Why wouldn't we go for that?

[00:06:36]That's the big question. So, I want to leave you with this one question.

[00:06:40]If you were 20 years old, not married, no kids. Again, I don't know how old you are or if you have kids.

[00:06:49]Would you leave the United States and go to another country knowing what you know right now?
