Drought conditions in key U.S. wheat-growing regions (Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas) have caused significant crop abandonment, prompting the market to enter a rationing mode and incentivize increased wheat planting in the northern hemisphere (US, Europe, Russia) to compensate for tighter global wheat stocks, while smaller crops are also expected in Argentina, Australia, and Canada.

Wheat Crisis Looms! 🌾 Major Crop Losses Confirmed! 🚨May 13, 2026 #advancetrading #shortsAjouté :
Just confirmed today from the USDA significant abandonment we're seeing Oklahoma, Texas even Kansas is well below the normal levels. And I think though those numbers are still fluid, Jeremy. I think if we do not finish this growing season well we could see that abandonment numbers [music] increase, unfortunately. Bottom line though, Jeremy, some of that wheat is definitely gone. It cannot come back at this point. It is a terrible situation for those growers.
I think the market now is in in a rationing mode and most importantly now I would say [music] we're really in a rationing and incentive mode for 2026-2027 to get growers [music] in the northern hemisphere now to plant more wheat this fall. We need larger wheat acreage [music] here in the US. We need larger wheat acreage in Europe, Russia and so forth uh because of the fact that we've got some tighter stocks.
What the USDA also told us today, Jeremy, I thought was interesting on new crop wheat not only the crop but we're we're looking at devastating drought and obviously in the in the central southern plains. Smaller crops so worldwide.
Smaller crops in Argentina, smaller crops in Australia and also smaller crops in Canada. So smaller crops in southern hemisphere, smaller crop in Canada but right now, Jeremy excuse me, I think we're looking at confirmation of a smaller HRW crop here in the US.
