Skin health is fundamentally connected to internal body health; deficiencies in nutrients like iron and vitamin D, as well as thyroid issues, can cause persistent skin problems that topical skincare treatments cannot resolve, making blood tests essential for identifying underlying health issues that may be affecting skin condition.

Skincare didn't work because my body was brokenAdded:
2 months ago, I went and got my blood test. These are the test I did. I don't think you can actually see it. And my GP told me I was very low on iron, very low on vitamin D, and I had a mild thyroid condition. And I just sat there thinking, is that why my skin looks the way it does? Because I had been blaming my skincare routine the whole time, buying new serum, trying new activives, spending money on treatments, and no one told me to just go and check what was happening inside my body first. And these are the blood test I did. Is it focusing? Is it blur? Sorry, my eyesight is a bit bad. Okay.
Yeah, these one. Before I get into everything, I'm not a doctor. I'm not a dermatologist. Some of these supplements were directly recommended by my GP after seeing my blood test results. Others I resource myself and added to my routine.
What works for me might not work for you. Everyone's body is different.
Please talk to your doctor or healthcare provider before starting anything new.
Okay, let's get into it. Okay, let's start with what my GP put me on after my blood test result.
The first one is vitamin D. I was very deficient. This is so common especially you are not getting enough sun which honestly if you are someone who stays inside, work from home, doesn't go out much, you might be low and not know about it. Okay, let's continue. Vitamin D. I got a bit distracted. So, low vitamin linked to inflammation, weak immunity and skin issues. So my GP put me on this one. So this is like a pharmacist only medicine and I have to take this once a week as prescribed. So the next one is iron. My iron level was very low. And when I look back it makes all sense because I was tired all the time. Uh my skin was just dull and I didn't have energy at all to be honest.
And my dark spots used to take forever to fade because low iron affects your collagen production and your skin's ability to repair itself. So I could be putting vitamin C on my face every single day and if my body doesn't have the iron it needs to produce collagen, it's not going to work. The vitamin C in the supplements also helps with iron absorption and helps with hyperpigmentation internally. So two things at once. I also want to mention my GP also found out that I had a mild thyroid issue and at first I didn't know that thyroid issue affects your skin but later I found out that it does uh dryness breakouts slow healing and so many people don't know about it. If something feels off on your body and you can't explain it just ask your doctor to check your thyroid level. Okay. So these two are directly prescribed from my doctor and the other supplements I'm going to show you now. I researched by myself and I added on my routine by myself. So if you are thinking to do it just uh research about it or just um consult your doctor first before you add your supplements on your routine. Okay.
The third one is fish oil omega3. I know this sounds boring but it's it's one of my best supplements. If your body is inflamed, your skin going to be inflamed. So that's it. That's the whole um science behind it. I've already went I've already finished halfway through.
It helps with the inflammation. It's a bit smelly, but you have to take it.
Okay. The next one is magnesium. I started this one for my sleep, but I didn't know it helped me with my skin as well. Stress causes cortisol and cortisol causes breakouts, especially on jaw and chin area. I used to treat those uh breakouts with my skinincare but it it didn't work because the problem wasn't my face it was my stress level and magnesium helps with that. I take it every night before I go to the bed.
Okay. So the next one is ashwagandha.
Initially I started this for my sleep but this one helped me to handle stress and when I'm less stressed my skin break out less. Okay. The last one is chlorophyll. It helps to detox your body and when your body is clean from the inside it shows on your skin. I take this I it it's smelly to be honest. I take this every single day after my meal. It it has antioxidant properties and vitamin C. So that's everything. The biggest thing I want you to take from this video is go get a blood test done.
Seriously, I thought my skin was the problem and I was just treating uh topically using skin care, using medication, but my acne came back. when your internal body is not uh doing well and it's missing the things it needed to function properly, your skin will going to break out. So get your blood test done, find out what's missing inside your body, fix the inside first. I'll do a full update video after 3 months because my skin is not doing great right now. So these are the supplements I'm taking and see you on the next video.
