This analysis correctly identifies that xenophobia is often a byproduct of systemic inequality where elites profit from cheap labor while the poor are left to fight over crumbs. It moves the conversation beyond mere prejudice to address the underlying economic exploitation driving social conflict.

Unpacking ILLEGAL FOREIGNERSAdded:
guys. Um, as I recently watched a video clip on YouTube, I was sent this by a good friend of mine uh regarding the illegal foreigners in this country and it's a video, it's a long video uh from a truck driver. It's a Zulu truck driver and he was speaking about how he does uh deliveries and loads and pickups and drives all over Africa. and he was just giving his experience on foreigners and a lot of the things that I was listening to like I was like duh and then you read the comments cuz it's like it's it's going viral. I don't know if it's on Tik Tok, but I watched it off YouTube. It's going absolutely viral and things were like, huh?
Like I I realized things that are so obvious to me um because of whatever privilege or exposure that I've had for most of South Africans, they they they don't know or at least maybe they they haven't thought about it like that, you know. So this gent is talking about how um with this whole march and march operation dudulla foreigners illegally that are here they need to go back. He was saying you know what let's forget about the the whole of South Africa. Let's just focus on KZN because everyone else is calling us illiterate.
They're calling us stupid. They're calling us this. They're calling us that. Not understanding the dynamics and um the the the the politics around illegal foreigners. So I love how he first breaks down um the the the whole aspect of how politicians benefit, you know.
And again to me I was like but surely we all know that Saposa has shares in minds all over Africa you know and in order to do business in a foreign country there needs to be some sort of a contract and the contracts are not just based on financials or share you know um I'll give an example let's say the doctors that we sent to Cuba you know all of a sudden if you think about it we've got a whole generation of doctors that sed Africanborn homegrown people that went and studied in Cuba. Some studied for free, some studied on bery. Why would they go to Cuba specifically? Why couldn't they go and do medicine in Zambia? Or why couldn't they go do medicine in Madagascar? Why couldn't they go do medicine in America or Europe? Why did they have to go to Cuba?
What is the relationship between South Africa and Cuba in order for us to send doctors there to go study and do medicine for free, you know, or rather students that want to do medicine? Like people need to process that, you know, people need to process when people are seeking uh refuge or they're looking at refugee status in countries that are war torn, whatever the case may be. Why?
where the the the the policy is you need to find refuge in countries that are neighbors to you. Why is it that you'll travel past six, seven countries to get to South Africa? You know, I I thought some certain things were obvious, you know. I thought certain things just were during all these South African companies, MTN, Shopright, well, your Pepco, your DSTV with Nasper being all over Africa. And how is it that they were able to get these relationships, you know, all across, you know, if you look at the the the the the the relationships that we we we have with the MTN and in Swisilland, you know, how we've got businesses there and how Swisilland is the only how MTN is the only uh uh telco in Swaziland. Why would a South African company that that the majority, you know, then you go back about 20 years ago when MTN had that their IPO and the fact that they can have these things but they're not available to everyone. They're available to um the top politicians, the top businessmen. So when they say they've got an IPO, the initial um public offering, you know, to us, we can't afford the shares, you know, we we can't win. Oh, market is doing well. We we we can't afford it.
The everyday South African can't afford it. Who can afford it? They're elite.
You know, they're elite. They they can afford it. If they say, "Oh, there's um we need a be partner to open a pick and pay." Uh uh uh. I I don't have 5 million to buy a franchise. I don't even know where to loan that amount. So again, you're opening it up for the elite, whether it's political elites or again those guys who are in the know and are in those circles. So me I was like well it's obvious that our politicians are all benefiting that's why they want borders Julius Malma to not exist cuz he knows that he's got business venture all over Africa so for him it's more money in his pocket on top of that by removing borders in South Africa there's no other country in the whole in the whole Africa that says remove your borders it's he just wants us cuz he's a pan-Africanist I'm a pan-Africanist Egypt is not doing it Nigeria area has borders. Like I it's it's one of the most brain mindn numbing concepts ever.
But unless you actually start thinking like a criminal, a criminal will say, "Why do we even have alarms?
Why do we even Why do we even lock our stores? Why would we do that? We don't need to lock our cars." Like, stop thinking like that. I I really thought it was obvious when he would say that or other politicians would say that would well obviously they've got chunker they've got a dog in the fight they want money to be moving up and down you know but when this guy said it and I was reading the comments I was like oh [ __ ] as certain things that um seem obvious to you may not seem obvious to me certain things that are dirt to you are not dirt to me you know even the video that I dropped yesterday like I was reading some of the comments and I was like that's not what I then you realize which oh people didn't like they they they they didn't watch the whole video and they didn't process what I was saying that's the whole thing about social media you know we we watch news and snippets you know we just read the top lines oh March and March oh no one is asking so again as much as I agree with the organization who's funding these thousands of men that are marching up and down all day they need to eat something in the morning and afternoon they walking for a long time.
They need to get money from somewhere.
Who who who is funding them? When they say they want to go march, you know, and they have to obviously get the rights and the permits from the police and the municipality. Who who is funding this?
When you have operation during people are going into the squatter camps and they who who's protecting there there's money, guys. Follow the money. You'll get your answers. Like follow the money.
When when when people are saying this, you need to understand which Shopright is trying to get access into this pro into this country. Bman is trying to get access into this. So when they talk about illegal foreigners, there's a money implication in it. There's money.
There's always been money. Yes, we can boycott foreigners in sense of let's not buy from Pakistan. Sure, that's that's on us. You know, we support the business, so obviously they'll run. Hey, let's not go buy our cell phone from mama pakis. Let's not get get our haircut from mama Nigerians. Okay, sure.
We can do that. We have a role to play.
We can play our part, you know. But again, we need to understand that tin blacks are African. The everyday blacks South are African. Everyday blacks South are African. We're not ordering checkers 6060 and Mr. D. We're not the average blacks South African. Listen to what I'm saying. And if you're like, "Yes, they are." You are not the average black South African. You you you you are not you know the No, the average black South African statistically is a grant recipient uh recipient. So again the people that are marching complaining about illegal foreigners are people that are unemployed that have no means of income and they are saying they fighting for the jobs that cut hair. They fighting for or who are cleaning the houses. They fighting for those spaces.
They're not fighting for uh oh get into the PhD program even though that's the next step even though white collar jobs are going to be the next step. But it's it's one of those things where I just thought it was obvious. You know I've also had the pleasure privilege experience of traveling Africa, traveling the world. Guys, let me tell you something. You don't walk around freely in any country. You have to have your passport. If you get stopped at any point, you show your passport. I've been to Zimbabwe, guys. As Zimbabwe, as that guy rightfully said, you drive 100 meters, you stopped. Drive another 100 meters, you get stopped. You're driving and they want your papers, chief. They want your papers, chief. Yo, I'm If you're driving a GP car and those brothers will speak straight Shauna to you, unlike our police who are trying to, those brothers will speak straight Shauna. Straight Shauna. Mean I was lucky that every time I've been in Zim, I've always had a Shauna guy in the car, you know. So again, if it so happens that I'm going to go buy something by myself, I know it's in it's just around the corner here and I get stopped. What they'll speak straight sha chief and like hey sorry I'm South African purposely purposely I love my Zim brothers. I'll go to Zim cuz I've always had a best time and all the Zim mates that I have to my knowledge are not the legal guys that we're trying to get rid of. But again, all my Zimbras and all the Zim guys I know, they think they're better than South Africans.
I'm telling you, you can say whatever you want to say. I know my bras. It's like Zulumen. Zulumen think they better than Kosamin. Zullemen think they're better than Bmen. It's the truth. It's the absolute truth. I've traveled Africa. All those African brothers, they 100% think they're better than South Africans.
100%. I've been to Zim. I've been to Mos. I've been to Bots. I've been to Kenya. All those bras when you chat to them, they think they're better than South Africans. And again, I've always like, well, if you're better, then why you here? They here because they want to take what we have because they think they're better than us.
If you see next door, which they weak and you think you're a better man, you go and you snatch the dishes out their kitchen.
It's just that simple. It's the reason why it's happening in the Middle East.
Israel thinks they're better than other countries. Like, okay, we're going to come and take this oil and take that. It is what it is. It is what it is, guys.
Ushaga did the same thing. He'd go around from tribe to tribe trying to take over. This is mine. This mine, this is mine. It's what happens. I've been to Mos that Bri is right. Those guys will speak in Portuguese, chief. If you don't have your papers, you'll pay a spot fine. Those guys are carrying huge [ __ ] uh assault rifles. Huge guns.
Not this little pew pew pew that our cops carry. Huge guns saying, "Hey, chief, where's your papers now?" Now, if you don't have your papers there, if you're not telling them where you're going, when you're coming back, it's over. Prison spot fine. They give you that paper. You paid on the spot. Unlike South Africa where you get to go to you paid on the spot here and now, guys, travel if you don't understand what people are talking about or fighting about. Go and join those marching march and listen to the plight of those people and their cries. talk to those people and their cries. Tina who are sits who sits in air conditioned offices and Tina know our all all our friends from Mali and Zambia or they they they studied in England you know all my friends that oh no oh no I'm from Egypt oh no I'm from Kenya oh they studied abroad but are they nice so again I'm in a privileged space it might affect me in years to come might affect my kids shop my kids have many foreign friends again their foreign friends have like English accents you know So again it's please speak to hear their pain then travel Africa travel overseas I just come back from Thailand I I was in Hong Kong like last year the year before I was in hey chief you carry your passport where you walk wherever you walk there's certain stores that when you buy you show your passport like you know when you're buying a TV you have to show your TV like there's places where when you buy you have to your passport. Who are you, chief? Who are you? I I I don't understand why South Africa, it's almost like it's a unique case that we are uniquely uh anti- illegal foreigners.
It's almost like South Africa, oh, South Africa is the only place where you have to walk around with your passports and show. No, that's everywhere. That that is literally everywhere, guys. I it's not a fight especially from me for uh people that come here to improve South Africa. That that's that's that's definitely not the fight. It is a fight at blue collar level where a lot of blueco collar guys don't have jobs because they feel that a lot of illegal foreigners are coming through. It's a lot of the the the powers that be deliberately open the borders. Why? Cheap labor. A lot of foreigners were willing to do things at half the cost of what a South African would charge. That's the truth. That is just the absolute truth. So the powers that be will always open the borders for that. They'll open the borders because of whatever agreements they have all across Africa. Why? Cuz it's their pockets. And then again, the reality is that a lot of our African brothers are [ __ ] arrogant for the 100%. Again, I'm so that people don't get touched and copy xenophobic. My Zulu brothers are [ __ ] arrogant, you know. So, but at least we can say we are South African.
were arrogant in South Africa where now who is from Angola go be arrogant in Angola you know I don't go to Angola and talk little or whatever the people from Angola I don't go to uh uh Namibia and talk and say oh you Namibians are lazy I don't go to Ner and say ah you guys are lazy no no no I I don't do that so you stay in your house and talk bad about your people I stay in my house talk bad about my people but it's that it was just one of those things where I'm like hm Yeah, social media has killed us because we a lot of us have not had exposure. We hadn't spoken we haven't spoken to people. A lot of us have just a little bit of information. Uh and it's almost like the blind leading the blind at times. But do your own research. Don't don't just listen to me cuz I'm also just another [ __ ] talking head. Do your own research. Do your own research. Don't agree with me.
Don't disagree with me. Don't hate on what I'm saying. Don't love what I'm saying. Go speak to the people on the ground. Go speak to them. Go hear their pain. Go sit with some people illegal or legal foreigners. Hear their pain.
Understand them. You know, try and do your own research and then come up with your own opinion. Then come into the comments and then teach us. Please, guys. Anyway, share this video far and wide. I'm not trying to be negative.
Again, I'm just trying to learn, trying to share that I know. I'm not trying to be one of those guys at all. But guys, like, subscribe, do all those amazing things. Have yourselves a fantastic day.
