Slot machine payback percentages (RTP) vary by denomination, with penny machines typically around 89% and higher denomination machines ranging from 89-95%, while the national average across all casinos is approximately 90%. RTP is calculated over millions of spins, so short-term results can vary significantly from the actual setting. State regulations and manufacturer limitations typically set minimum RTP around 83%, and tribal casinos often follow similar standards to state-run casinos. Understanding RTP helps players set realistic expectations, though individual sessions will always show variance regardless of the actual payback percentage.

Click. Is >> it going? There it is.
>> And we're live. There we go.
>> Technical difficulties.
>> Mark, I just pushed the button.
>> Why? What's technical about that?
>> Cuz we're like trying to verify if we went live or not.
>> Mark, guess what?
>> What? What? Dave, >> it's our hundth episode.
>> 100 live shows.
>> 100. Actually, not even 100 live shows.
Just a hundred Q&As's.
>> Yeah, >> specifically. I mean, technically we've probably done more than that, but this is like our hundth official one, I guess.
>> 100th official Q&A live.
>> Yeah, it's been a lot.
>> If you think about it, you know, we did basically every week. I mean, we definitely skipped some weeks.
>> And so that's probably we average probably 45 a year or something like that >> easily.
>> So, let's two and a half years.
>> Two and a half years >> that we've been doing this. That's crazy.
>> How's everybody doing tonight?
I see B. Martini is in Florida. I will be in Florida tomorrow.
>> Yeah, I've been watching his videos of his top dollars that he's playing there.
Seem to be doing pretty good there, buddy.
>> Nice.
>> Yeah.
You know what's here's what's funny about Bob, but yeah, I was going to put that up here as well. If all we have to do >> is go into the YouTube creator studio settings and make topd dollar a moderated word and we will never hear from him again.
>> This is brilliant. This is brilliant >> because he can't say anything without mentioning it. So >> slam.
>> That's the way to do it.
>> Bob wouldn't have anything to talk about.
>> Yeah. That's not fair for Bob.
>> Nothing left.
Uh, didn't bring your box. Uh, oh, that's not good. We've seen some really good hits, though. I hope you're keeping some of it at least. Uh, oh yeah, thank you, humble primate. I need to do that real quick. Dave, why don't you tell them about We're going to change the password for the free slots for members.
It's about time that we're doing this.
Um, >> what am I going to tell?
>> So, tell them about what we're doing next week.
Next week we will be in Tulsa. We're going to be meeting with Eclipse Gaming and we are gonna Which casino are we going to be at?
>> Uh, River Spirit.
>> River Spirit. I am getting confused where I'm at.
>> Yeah, River Spirit Casino Resort. That's it.
>> River Spirit Grease Resort. If you are in the greater Tulsa area, want to come by and say hi, we'll be there Wednesday uh probably about noonish up until rest of the day. So, come check us out. come say hi.
>> We will be >> I will be leaving for Mr. Hamp's cruise tomorrow. Uh getting on that cruise on Friday, getting off on June 1st if you happen to be either on the Wonder of the Seas this weekend or at Coco K um on Saturday or at NASA Atlantis on Sunday.
Come by and say hi. I'll be around. I got poker chips. I got lanyards. I got ducks.
ducks.
>> I'm gonna Those ducks got tore up in Icon. I mean, people were raving about the ducks.
>> So, I would only put the ducks in the hideaway area, which is 18 and up and the casino >> because these are adults with ducks with our QR code on the bottom. I would not put them anywhere else, just in areas where adults would be. Our audience is adults. Our audience is not children.
So, we don't market towards children.
I was putting them all around the casino and I heard a number of people exclaim that they found a duck and I'm like, "Okay, for one, they weren't hidden very well.
>> That's your fault."
>> They weren't hidden very well in the first place, but people were going ecstatic about it. Um, so I'm going to be hiding those big time on Wonder of the Seas. I know I'm going to have more of a crowd there who's going to be looking out for those. Um, really excited about that. So, I'm I actually got a subscriber from Brisbane, Australia, and they didn't scan the duck until they got back to Brisbane. That's kind of cool.
>> Oh, how funny. That's cool, though. It's good to see that pop up >> for sure.
>> Um, >> yes, Larry's territory is uh River Spirit, and we'll definitely be telling Larry we're going to be there.
>> Yep.
>> But then, >> we're gonna have a very busy day. Uh, we're gonna Yeah, like Dave said, we'll get there.
Oh, there's actually other stuff going on. Uh, let's see. Because we're talking June now. So, Jod and I are actually heading down to Lake Charles this weekend. Uh, because she's we're seeing a comedy show that she likes >> and at Leurge on Saturday night, I believe it is. But we're going to we're going to be staying at Delta Downs.
>> Uh, because it's the only place I had comps down there. Um, so we're going to be staying at Delta Downs Friday night and Saturday night. I had to You know what the room rates were at Lever that night? $980 a night. I thought WinStar was bad.
>> What?
>> Yeah, it's crazy.
>> Awesome. It's not It's not It's a YouTube person. It's not really a big, you know, huge thing.
>> Like George Carlin coming back from the dead because that's George coming back dead prices.
>> Maybe I'll spend $900 a night on George Carlin.
>> Uh, no. So, we'll be at we'll be at Delta Downs. Uh, I've have I have tentative filming permission, but I'm waiting for them to give me the final list of dos and don'ts. Um, I think the last time we were there, we were not allowed to film. So, >> um, I'm hoping they'll say yes so I can get some content for you guys. They have a great machine selection there.
>> So, hopefully hopefully and I won't be staying there long because that place really gets smoky. But, I'll get down there and get some filming done for you guys. And if they do give me permission, maybe I'll do a pop-up live or something. So, make sure you're subscribed and ring that bell and all that fun stuff. Otherwise, I'll just try to do some uh uh swap play on some of the ones that I remember. Hopefully, they still have there. They hardly ever rotate machines like the old stuff there. They've just kept there forever.
So, hopefully that's still the case. And uh I'll get >> a lot of Line Top Dollars.
>> Not at Lege. They did, but not at Delta Downs.
>> No, not Delta.
>> Delta Downs has the top dollar deluxes.
>> That's true.
>> Um but they're dollars. Uh, so dollars gonna be like a hundred bucks and hope for the best. So >> I almost don't want to say where I'm going to be in June now because >> I noticed Bob's going to be there in June. So, >> well, anyway, I'm going to be at Las Vegas uh playing uh playing with George at the World Series of Poker Tag Team event uh from July 24th through July 26th, maybe uh through the 27th, depending on if we make the final table or not. So, I'll let you guys know about that. I'll be around. I know that Bob's going to be there, Robin's going to be there. I believe Donna as well, and uh Will is going to be there. So to the stars, hang out with some gang.
>> Paul says, "Delta Downs is a boy property. If so, good luck with filming." Isn't Four Queens a Boyd property, though?
>> No, Fort Queens isn't a boil property.
They're independent. They're uh >> they're with Bignyans. But they're not Boyd.
>> Oh, that's right. Bye start with a B.
>> Yeah. Actually, I have had really great luck recording at Sam'stown with no issues, >> which is Boyd. Yeah. which is which is void beyond void. And so yeah, it's it's give or take now. It really is. You know, worst case, you could always go to um uh Kinder to Grand Casada and record there because you know they're good with it.
>> Yeah, but that's like another what? Oh, go ahead.
>> Hour.
>> Hello.
>> Hello.
>> Thank you, Robin.
>> Stop it, Robin.
100 episode, $1 per show. Good deal.
>> By the way, you both get haircuts.
>> I need a haircut. I need >> I had to get a haircut. That was good.
>> I uh I was looking rough in the video today and somebody pointed out in the comments or like think you need to get Jody to comb your hair every time you do a video.
>> I was like, you know, I was actually ready to get a haircut on Monday and then I realized it was Memorial Day and that was not going to happen. Uh, so I've been trying to get to the the barber shop ever since and haven't made it there. So, but uh >> Mark, I got an idea.
>> What do you What do you got?
>> So, she got a dollar per show. Let's have the next episode be our 500th episode.
>> Yeah, that sounds great.
>> I think I'll be dead before we get to episode 500.
>> We don't want to break.
>> That's a long ways away. Yeah, >> that's for sure.
>> Goodness gracious.
>> Anyway, guys, uh yeah, busy summer for us. uh as you know to start asking your questions. This is our Q&A show. Of course, we'll usually just kind of meet up with uh our our regulars here and that's totally fine, but I'm sure some of you guys are new, so we always want to welcome you in. If you have any questions for us, now is your chance to ask them. Um we've got about 12 startups so far. Um but as they come in, we'll just kind of start them up and go through the show and we'll do some banter back and forth and answer questions and just kind of have a chill hour. And then as always after this show, we have our membersonly show where we kind of just, you know, take the mics off and kind of sit back and relax and just have a conversation amongst friends. It's very laid-back and fun.
Usually don't even talk about gambling.
We get sidetracked on something and it gets >> it gets pretty crazy and wild sometimes, but uh >> members going on.
>> That's right. So uh members, make sure you stick around for that. It'll be in a different link that you already have, but uh we do offer that after this. So, all right. Uh, yes, we have Well, also, yeah, we should we even talk about July?
Let's talk about July. So, we have video poker >> moving in July.
>> Uh, we have video pokerfest, which is, uh, we arriving July 7th, and we're leaving the 12th.
>> 11th, the 11th, >> correct? We're leaving early the 11th.
So, we're not even there all day on the 11th. It's 7 a.m.
>> and we're come and I'm coming in late on the 7th. So, really only have is the 8th, 9th, and 10th that you'll be able to to meet with us. But we should be everywhere at the Pepper Mill. So if you're interested in seeing us, make sure you come up and say hi. Guys, even if we're recording, doing a live stream, it doesn't matter. You're not going to bother us or anything like that. Just come up and say hi. Uh I promise we won't just put you on camera. Uh so just >> but come by and say hi. We'll have poker chips and stuff to hand out. So uh we're very much looking forward to seeing you.
And then also um I will be a week later which is going to be the I think uh the 19th through the 23rd I think it is July. I'll be back up at Foxwood not Foxwoods in Moheaggan Sun this time meeting my buddy old school uh old school slots. We tried to do this earlier but I had some stuff I had to take care of here and had to cancel a trip unfortunately. Um but I'm going to be up there. John the NJ slack guy is going to be up there uh to meet up with Stfan. We're going to have a blast uh at Moheaggan Sun and get some recording uh for you guys there, which is super hard to do. And big shout out to Stfan out there, old school slots, hooking us up with getting recording permission, all that. He has to fight pretty hard for that. So, really do appreciate you uh doing that for us. And so, I'll have a good time out there. Probably just going to be me solo this trip. Uh Jody is going with us to Reno. Um, but uh I'll probably be the only one going on this uh trip up to the Northeast. And um that's going to be July. And then we have August.
>> Wait, wait. I got something in July as well.
>> Oh god. Let's keep going.
>> 24th and 25th I will be up in Tulsa for a spin network event with a bunch of channels including Johnny Slots from Florida.
>> Uh so we got another big event there. I know Kansas Slots's going to be there or Slots Oklahoma. I know a bunch of other channels are going to be there. So, we're going to be rocking that in Tulsa.
And then we get to August.
>> And then we get to August. Maybe we should just stick with June, July for now. Let's Let's save August for a little bit.
>> Okay. Um >> guys, before you even ask though, we have not started planning G2E. It is on our list. We need to get to it. We've got to get through next week first, then we can actually focus on G2E. We are doing something. It'll be most likely the Saturday after G2E. right now.
That's like our pretty much tenative plan. Okay? So that way if you don't want to go to G2, you want to come in for the full weekend, you can come in on Friday, leave on Sunday. I know a lot of people who are, especially Robin, who have to work and go to school and all that kind of stuff. So there we go.
All right. Uh all right, let's start getting to some questions here and comments.
Uh, will he be in Vegas the week of August 17th? No, I think we'll be in there the week after that, >> right?
>> Eric and my birthdays. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> So, we'll just miss you unless you're staying there for a long time, which most people don't and shouldn't.
>> Um, and Mary says, "Hey guys, Campbell Smart won over $3,000 and left because of listening to you guys go only once a month." That's fantastic. I hope you did something good with that money. Um, walking out is probably the hardest thing. That's the one thing we all struggle with at some point. So, I'm very proud of you. That's really awesome. Um, and glad you uh stayed true to the message here and walked out a winner. Hope you hope you do something cool with that money. Don't just raise your bet the next time you go next.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> Don't do that.
>> Put half of it in the bank and then the other half keep is your bank roll.
That's a good That's a good philosophy.
>> Or go buy something you've always wanted.
>> Hope it's a downtown Graham. Most likely it will be uh downtown Grand and also one from Michelle here.
>> Tickets too high now for October.
Anyways, Michelle, I have a feeling that they're going to come down. Keep on looking for deals especially on airlines such as Southwest because they are running constant promotions. Ever since Spirit died, a lot of airlines um United, American, and Southwest are all jumping to get those dollars and so they are having some great deals. Not really being advertised though, so you just got to keep looking.
>> All right, let's see.
>> Oh, that's I think this is Gina.
>> Go ahead.
>> Hello, my handsome man. Yeah, it's totally Gina. Finally able to catch you live as it's been a while and thanks for all that work thing. Uh miss you both.
Glad to see you uh guys. Uh hopefully you'll be able to see Mark in uh uh July. If not, we hope to see you out for G2E for sure.
>> Yeah. Yeah, for sure.
Um, once I get the specific plans together for Moheaggan Sun, like times and all that, I'll post it on our website. And by the way, make sure you are going to our website. That's where we're trying to post our calendar. I need to do the calendar updates for for right now. But, uh, we're trying to keep everything there so you guys can see exactly what time and place that we'll be places this summer. So, you can check us out.
Oh, this is interesting. So, Delta Downs has changed a lot since y'all were there last. Oh, okay. Well, that's got some.
Yeah, we'll see what uh what's new with it. I always like hearing that.
>> I hope ventilation. I hope ventilation is good.
>> Not a chance. Maybe they have a non-smoking room right now. Doubt that too.
>> Oh, I got a good question here.
>> Okay, question. Do you think the best value for comps is land-based or cruise line casinos? It depends on what you want. Okay. Land-based casinos, you're probably going to get um a room. You're probably going to get free play and maybe some resort credit. And that's probably it for the most part on land-based casinos. On shipbased casinos, you're going to get a cruise.
So, if you look at it as a room and food, so look at it kind of that way. um more resort style, you know, so like everything's included. Same thing it would be if you're staying at a hotel casino with a pool, but this is a resort that goes places. So, it's really what you're looking for in a vacation. I believe the comps are better on land-based than they are in a casino. If you're lucky in the casino, you'll get a few dollars of free play. If you're a pretty good player, you're going to get free play based on your play, but that's going to be the same as in landbased.
Uh, cruise lines typically don't give you anything else beyond here's your free cruise, and that's pretty much it.
So, you kind of got to weigh the good and the bad of that. I am still way better of I would rather go to Vegas, but I am enjoying these free cruises a lot. Now, remember, when I say free cruise, it's always free cruise.
>> You got to gamble at least 200 to 400 points. 400 seems to be that sweet spot to essentially pay for your free cruise and to keep those offers coming. So, just keep that in mind.
>> Well said.
And Jeff says, "Hello. I'm heading to Vegas this weekend for my big 6." Well, congratulations.
>> Congratulations.
>> Haven't been since December. What's new or different that I shouldn't miss >> since December? Uh, >> Bellagio Conservatory. It's always changing. and it'll be changed in the seasons >> by the time you get there.
>> U you're going to definitely want to check out the win if you haven't been there since December or if you haven't been there much at all. There is a free show at the win. Um the lake of light show I think it is. I can't remember 100%. Interesting show. I got to say it's interesting. Is it a wow show? Not really, but it's interesting. Especially the uh David Bowie stuff they have coming in on one of the uh shows. Always check out the Blasio Fountains. There always something new there to see. I mean, I always see something new in Vegas. I hope you do, too. And happy birthday.
Yeah, it's awesome. Celebrate it well.
Don't lose all your money.
Let's keep it to that.
Uh, here we are. Here.
We got Hourglass Jazz Club question. Are red screens with the area wide progressives more volatile than the ones without it? Are they about the same with the payback percentage? I, you know, I don't know. I'm going to say I don't know. Um, if I were to make an assumption, I would say that the return on those might be a little less um than the ones without it. But that is a big assumption. I really don't know if it makes a difference at all. We'll have to ask that. I'll have to remember to ask that. Um, so unfortunately I can't give you a yes or no on that.
And uh oh man, I got a good one here.
Okay, from Carrick Walters. Hey guys, quick question. What are some of your favorite slot conspiracy theories just for fun? My favorite one is always the casino's out to get me and is making the odds against me in the favor. You know the odds for the casino gaming on the most part. You know that blackjack is a certain percent household. You know the same for craps, bakarat, roulette, you know all that. You know all the table games, all of it upfront. The thing that we don't know per machine is what the payback percentage is per machine. We don't know the RTP. So we think conspiracy theory all the time. We're obsessed with the payback percentage.
And in fact, you would have no idea of paying if a machine was paying back well or not. You would have no idea if the RTP is set to 99% or 85%. If you are getting paid in that particular moment, you're in one of the cycles where it's at 130% 140% or you're down to 40%. You never know, you can experience the game just as it is. And it doesn't matter what the payback percentage is at that moment. So enjoy the game, have fun with it. Don't worry about the casino's out to get you. They don't have to be.
You're out to get yourself and they're just opening the doors for you.
>> Yeah.
Well, you, Mark, what's your favorite one?
>> There's so many. I know.
>> There's so many. Yeah. I mean, there really is. I think uh I I was kind of going to say the same thing you did, Dave. Uh people just assuming that the casino is cheating. They just don't need to cheat. They're already making so much money. Um they just really don't need to cheat. Um, I think probably my favorite is just people thinking that they can own the machine, uh, playing slot machines and stuff like that, like they can figure out some kind of way to maximize their winnings and then kind of fall into that trap. I think that's probably my biggest conspiracy theory is that there there's something that manufacturers are just keeping secret, but only a couple of people out there know it, and if you can find out what it is, you can make millions off of slot machines. I think that's probably my favorite >> uh conspiracy theory. There's just no way that could happen. So, And Dave, take a couple more. I'm actually looking up something here. So, >> okay, I'm going to take a couple more here. Um, here we go. Uh, from Steve 8144. Is the Theo score property or brand specific? Can give example if needed. Theo is generally a score that is pretty much it's like the quadratic equation. No matter where you go, it's the same. Now, specific properties might tweak that. They may raise or lower certain, you know, the weights of certain uh items like how much coin in, how much time machine, all that. I really try not to stress Theo so much because it is a very complicated formula.
And it's something you'll never know unless you know your host very well, who is willing to tell you what your Theo is at a certain property. Remember, just because your Theo is something at MGM means it doesn't mean it's the same thing at Caesars. Caesars could use a different formula. It's going to basically be the same, but it could be tweaked in each and other direction depending on what they're looking for for players. If I had to take a guess, I would say MGM's Theo is leaned toward higher denomination players, higher dollar players. This doesn't have anything to do with anything I've experienced. only what the CEO has said is that he is very happy with high dollar players and fine with losing the low dollar players. So take that with what you will. I do not try to chase Theo. I just try to keep track of my coin in and that's close enough. I realize there's a lot of math in there and if you are a high dollar player, it is a very specific thing you need to know. Ask your host, ask why this, why that, and they'll let you know for sure.
especially what you're rated at.
>> Do I need to keep going?
>> Coming in with a $20 super chat. Why do I hit more majors grand when I fast stop? Because you're a lucky sob. That's why.
>> That's That's the truth on that one.
>> I still got a video coming out of kept playing Kestrel.
>> That's funny. All right. Uh I had to look this one up, but I want to put it up here. Uh so SP says, "I heard someone say yesterday on slot channel that RTP of most Vegas slot machines are around 87%." which seems low. Well, let's go look at the gaming regulations um statistics for the last uh let's see, this is a current month to March right here in this area. This is last three months and the last 12 months. I usually like to look at the last 12 months because it gives you the most data uh the most number of spins, right? And these are the casino hold percentages right here.
So pennies were definitely the worst at 10.59%.
>> What's wrong?
>> Oh, I said they always are.
>> Pennies are always the worst. But remember, these >> are casino numbers.
>> So you have to reverse them for your for us. Yes.
>> Yeah, these are different. So this is actually uh let's see 89 41.
Did I do that math right? 89.41 for the pennies.
uh 5-cent. You might say, "Wow, it's it's actually really good on the 5-cent." But I'll come back to that in a second because there's an explanation for that. Uh and then 25 11.31 hold and then $1 7.35, $5 4.72, $25 6.98, and $100 6.25. And then multi-denomination are kind of the all the multi-denomination machines that kind of average out to 7.58.
So, I said I was going to come back to 5-cent because um a lot of people in my opinion read this report wrong.
They look at this and say 5 cents are way better to play than pennies and 25 cent because the number is so much better. The whole percent is less. But you have to look at the number of spins in the win amount. Um and you can see that there just aren't a lot of five-cent machines. So, there's just not a lot of data, right? Look at the difference in the win amounts between uh 1 cent and 5-cent. That's a huge difference.
There are so many more penny machines.
And so the averages actually settle a little bit more with the penny machines.
And so the way I read this report is that >> I would say that the average payback percentage return setting on most penny machines is probably around 89%. And this is at the Las Vegas strip area.
This is what we're looking at right here. Clark County, Las Vegas strip.
>> Look at the multi-domm.
>> Yeah, but this could this one I wish they would never have done this because the problem with a multi-denom is like so many machines are multi-domm now.
>> There's so many multi-om this could be penny 5 cent or penny 2 cent 5 cent 10 cent 25 cent etc. If they if you have a machine that's set up that way it's going to fall into this bucket. So you really don't know what it's it's hard to determine anything. They didn't used to report it like this but they do now. on.
So that's why this number is so freaking big is because you know most machines are set up that way. Um but all of those denominations combined this is the hold percent. So to say all machines are set at 87% I I will say confidently that that's not true. I think that most penny machines are probably set around 89% and then everything else is between 89 and I would say 95 uh for everything else. Now the reason I'm looking at this column over here and not these over here u because this is the first column is only three months. This is six months or I'm sorry this is uh no they're both three months because of the the is because of the beginning of the year. So this one's current month uh to March 2026. This is three months and then this is 12 months.
So monthly 3 months and 12 months. The reason I always look at the 12 months is because of the way payback percentages are are calculated is over a very large number of spins. So the bigger the data set you have on calculating RTP, the more accurate that number is a representation of what the machine setting actually is. If you don't have a large sample size, if you don't have millions of spins, then that number is still experiencing variance away from that payback percentage setting. And that's the explanation to that. Um, but if you have millions of spins or 500,000 spins or whatever the case is, um, well, what I what I meant to say is if you have 10 million spins within a period of time, you can make that determination that that is probably the average setting that they're setting on all that denomination. But if you don't have enough spins, it it could be misleading.
That's why I can't really look at the month-to-month and say, and this is where people have made mistakes reading this report, because they look at the month-to-month and see that February it was, let's say, 90%. And then March it was 88%.
And the assumption people make is they tightened all the machines up, right?
They took they took the ones in February and knocked them down 2% to 88%. But the problem is is this the data size isn't long enough to make that determination at all. It's not a big enough sample size. And so chances are that they didn't make any changes whatsoever. But the more data that you add, the more spins that you add, you will start to see the true numbers, if that makes sense. And I wish they would do a better job of reporting this stuff so people can make that right judgment call. Um, but it's important to kind of look this stuff up. And I think a lot of people feel that, you know, it is low. I don't think it's the best, but like Dave has said many times, and he's been on the calls, 90% is the national average considering all casinos, all denominations, that's kind of the spot that everything kind of hovers around.
Now, the pennies are always going to be on the lower end of that and the $100 machines are going to be on the higher end of that. It's all it's all going to average out, but that's basically where most people uh fit in. And the state laws regulate that as well that a lot of states have minimums where they can't go lower than that. And even if they could, a lot of manufacturers don't even provide settings that go lower than say 83%. Um, I listen, I've worked on hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of machines, and these have all come from casinos. And I will say with confidence, not one of them that have ever come through from all jurisdictions, even some international, not one of them has ever had a setting lower than 83% that's possible to set to. And I think that's because the casinos and the manufacturers just that's they don't want anything lower than 83%. Uh now some do put them that low probably you know on some cruise ships and stuff they probably do set them that low but anything lower than that I think is unreasonable and I think a lot of casinos know that and a manufacturers know it too. They're not going to go through the testing phase of setting up a a machine on a 78% pay table if no casino is ever going to select it. It's it's wasted time. It's wasted money.
They're never going to program it that way. And so they'll just stick with an 83% on the low and just, you know, call it good. So take that information as you will.
>> I was shocked when we had machines come in from Cosmo and then they were set so low.
>> They were set pretty low. Yeah.
>> I cuz I played at Cosmo >> for the denomination, too. Yeah.
>> Yeah. And I was, you know, I never did horrible Cosmo. I never did great, but I never did horrible. And I wouldn't have thought they were set that low, but they were set in the 80s and I was shocked.
>> But you can't tell. I mean, that's the thing. Short term, you can't tell.
>> Yep.
>> Um, >> I could be experiencing anything in a range of percentage points and I'd never be able to know that.
>> Yep.
>> And then a smartass comment from Robin.
Web page. You mean the same page the store is at?
>> Yeah. Dave, where's the store?
>> The store is The store is open and it has been open, Robin. You know that. Uh, don't have a lot of products in there now. We're still working through. We've moved away from one provider to another provider. Uh working through the minutia of the changes. I am slowly but surely making progress in that. I just figured out shipping. I'm now trying to move on to taxes. Uh all our items are ready to be published and I had them published for a very short time before I had to remove them because it wasn't calculating taxes or shipping at all.
I'm getting there. It's happening.
But there is stuff in the store.
>> We just need to link it on the new side.
>> All the Printify stuff is in the store and I think it's three items right now.
>> Yeah.
And a question since we're talking about RTP stuff here. Allan says in the UK they are required to post RTP on the machine so the player can see this. I think they do this in Australia as well >> and Canada as well and it's awesome.
>> Yeah. And New Zealand things like that.
Why is that? If RTP doesn't matter in the short term then it's irrelevant info, isn't it? I think this is this is why um I've always struggled with this because people do not understand what that number means. They just don't. And so, do I think casinos here should list it? Absolutely. Let's get let's be more transparent. Let's put it out there. But I also want people to realize what that means before they go in. Because if they don't set the right expectations and they're checking each machine for the RTP and they sit down at one that is set at 93 instead of 92 and they lose their butt, they may not understand why that happened. They may think, well, maybe that number isn't real or maybe they didn't set it like it says it is or whatever the case is. They may not understand why that machine did so poorly. Um, and I think that's that's the only challenge I see is making sure people understand what that number really means to your individual sessions. And there's still a lot of confusion out there for that. Um, but I I say we they should do it. I think they should do that. They should list the volatility of the machine. Let's make it simple. Low, medium, low, medium, medium, high, high. Insane.
>> Insane. Put >> the volatility out there. I think putting the top jackpot odds on the machine is a good idea. Like these are things that state lotteryies are required to do. Why can't we get it on slot machines? I it just that's always puzzled me. So I think if people had that information and they knew what to do with that data, then they could be a little bit more responsible with their play and and and at least set the expectations. Like that's the most important thing because I think a lot of us don't set the right expectations going in. We may have a a a thought about how things work or we may have an expectation that I heard downtown slots pay better. Uh which we we know now that they don't as much as as much as the strip does now. They kind of flip-flop back and forth. But people don't understand what that actually means. And so they they may overextend themselves thinking that they have a much better chance downtown. So they, you know, go above and beyond their means because they're working off of bad information or or misunderstood information. I guess I should say that. And I think that's that could be dangerous, right? If you don't know what those number numbers mean or those billboards that say that we have the loosest slots in town, if you don't know what that actually means, you may go in with the wrong expectations and that, you know, that could cause some problems. I could see that.
But thank you Allan for that. It's a good time.
>> I definitely liked uh hanging out with Nuckan in Vancouver at the casino there uh the Grand Villa, which I really loved. They go out of their way to explain all of this stuff. They have a staff on hand over at GameSense that explains everything. They really do a great job. And on the display of the machine itself, it says the payback percentage, uh you know, all this stuff.
It really is a great system. And I really wish we'd adopt that here. You know, just just be upfront about it.
Just say, "Here you go.
>> Take that for what you with.
>> This is a 90% payback machine.
You It doesn't mean you're going to win.
Sorry."
>> Right. Right. Like look, this this machine behind me right here. Okay. My machine is set to the highest. Still haven't hit a thousand credits. Still haven't hit three triple diamonds. And I own the thing.
You played a lot of spins on it, too.
>> Yeah. Still nothing. Uh, here's a good one for betting on the road. Do tribal casinos still pretty much fall into the national average on RTP? Uh, that's 90% 90% national average is all casinos throughout the country. So, it does not matter if they're a uh corporation or a tribal, they all fall into it. And actually, we know for this for a fact at WinStar, the bingo machines, the older single line machines are in the high 90s. So again, that doesn't mean I win because sometimes I don't.
>> Yeah, not just the single line, just the VGT.
>> That's true. The VGT.
>> The VGT machines. Yeah.
>> I don't want to say all VGT cuz I don't know about like the new Rubies and all those. I don't know if they're still included.
>> I don't know. That's a good point.
>> So all of the mechanical BGTs, we'll go that way. That's the only ones we know of. It could be extrapolated to the others, but we don't know, >> right?
>> Uh, Paragon says, "I work at a tribal casino on the East Coast. My state has no regulations on payback percentage, but the game software we receive from the manufacturers will not allow us to set it lower than 85%." Yeah.
>> And this is pretty standard. I mean, even, you know, even for tribal casinos.
I know a lot of people hate tribal casinos because they think that they're self-regulated, that they can do whatever they want. It's the wild west.
And I understand that. And it feels that way sometimes, but the truth is, and I think we really got to do a video on this, is that they have more regulations than staterun casinos. I hate to tell you that, but they're not just responsible for themselves, but they're responsible to the state and federal.
Um, and that's not something that state has to deal with, right? So, it's it's it is way more complicated for tribes.
They go through so many more procedures um and regulation than the state-run casinos. And it's just a big misconception out there. Now, that doesn't mean that a tribe won't set all the machines to 83% and call it a day.
I'm sure there's some tribal casinos out there that will do that. We don't know.
Um, and that's part of the problem with tribal casinos. And I think the reason they get a bad stigma is that they're not very transparent about their return to player numbers and all that kind of stuff.
>> And so, people kind of run with it. And I get that. Like, if they want to put that to an end and they want people to come to their casinos, consider being a little bit transparent with your return to date, you know, return numbers. And I think you might see your attendance pick up. So I I can see both sides of it >> except for Winstar and Chuck dot don't need to do anything at all. They just don't need to do anything and they're going to be packed every weekend.
>> It doesn't matter. Yep. Yep.
>> And from Gerard, do the shirts come in big and tall? Gerard, once I have the site up and running with all the items you see a shirt you like, message me. I will find it in your size specifically.
We're doing a lot of shirts inhouse now uh to make sure we have quality and everything else like that. I can get you the right size. Just keep in mind that's going to add to the ship time. But I'll make sure to put that in all the notes.
>> Did you say Gerard or Gerald?
>> Gerard. I said Gerard.
Took me two and a half years, but I learned.
>> Whoa.
>> Bob. We got a lot of them here. So, >> and membership. Thank you, Bob. That's awesome. Thank you so much.
>> And Jay Dog gifting five Gaml Smart memberships.
>> Thank you, J. Lucky Jewels.
>> Lucky Jules feels guilty.
>> Gamble smart.
>> Bill's guilty about winning that slot machine.
>> So, she's gifting it back, putting it back out to the universe. Thank you.
>> I need to reach out to you, by the way.
It's all ready to go. I just need to get the shipment stuff all handled. So, I'll reach out to you, Lucky Jewels. And >> if you did happen to win one of these free memberships, make sure to say thank you to these guys. They do pay for those out of their own pocket. Also, go to our post section, find out how to get to our discord and our uh free slot machine uh simulator app, which is super fun or the free slot machine playing. And there's also Mark simulator app on our website.
Let's see.
Yeah, Discord's a lot of fun. I hope to see you guys in there.
All right, back to some questions. We got a lot of them in here. Oh, and then Ryan coming in with the Boy, everybody's gonna get to membership tonight. Thank you so much, guys.
>> You guys are awesome.
>> Thank you so much.
>> Really, really appreciate all the love and support and thank you so much for your donations.
Um, >> let me go back to the question start here.
>> Here, I'll pick up this one. The Ocean says, "Hey, Mark and Dave. Love the teaching content.
>> Actually headed to Chuck for the first time this weekend. What games to play this weekend?" Uh, well, awesome. Um, >> many of them.
>> Wow. There's a lot of options at Chakaw.
Huge place. Um, >> single line.
>> Say my recommendation, but I know that Dave's going to have the same. Uh, >> he's gonna go five line the five line three uh, reels, but I'm also going to say they have a huge selection of five reel, nine line boss as well.
>> Yeah. At lower denominations, too. Yeah.
>> Yeah. One cent, two cent. They have a lot of them there. Really, I'm really finding a lot of fun playing a$180 max bet on those one cent five lines uh five reels because you're just like 180 max bet. Hell yeah.
>> Oh yeah.
>> Play all day long at that.
>> Excuse me.
>> So especially when it goes red like that, you know. Uh get a good idea of Chalkaw. Chalkaw's changed a lot even since Mark was last there. They have redone part of their casino again and they have shrunk the smoking section down. The smoking section is now what I consider to be tiny and what most casinos consider to be a large non-smoking section. And I believe that that's Choctaw's plan is to eventually go completely non-smoking. I don't know that 100%, but their remodel just made the whole area where the old poker room used to be all non-smoking. And now really it's the aisle from the old section to the that sky tower new non-smoking section that's smoking. So there's a lot of area there. I wish it was closer. I really do.
>> I I really wish it was closer.
>> Yeah, me too.
Um Oh, I think we missed Bassmaster. Did we miss you? Did five >> did not mean to miss you, that's for sure.
>> Yeah, I think it came in after I uh picked all those. So, thank you so much.
Appreciate it.
>> I don't know if we got this earlier, but Kestrel, I went to the events tab on your website, but no Winstar visits are shown. Are you not going to Winstar until November?
>> I'll be there next week. I'm going to update the calendar right after we're done here.
>> Yeah. Um Winstar trips are more shows >> kind of impulsive and just Yeah.
sporadic like, oh, let's go to WinStar, you know?
>> Yeah.
>> But as soon as we make the plan, it'll be on there.
>> Let's see.
>> Here's one. Here's one from Danny Crow headed to Vegas 914. I will try Cher's Jubilee for the first time. Gigum Dave.
Gigum Danny. That's right.
Fellow Aggie there.
>> Guns up.
No one ever said that.
>> Yes, they did.
>> What's the tortilla thing then? Explain it.
>> Oh, I can't explain that.
>> No one can. It's just happened one day and no one can explain it to me.
>> Yeah. And then they banned it and people still do it.
>> Yeah. Of course. They Hey, you're not allowed to do that anymore.
>> Yeah, you're not allowed to do it.
>> Yeah, >> I like this question. Hourglass Jazz Club says, "Question. If you were going to write a book, what would it be about?"
>> Um, I already know my answer.
>> I know. A biography. No, I'm just kidding. Um, I think I would make a uh uh I don't know now. Now I'm starting to think. Dave, go ahead. You let me think about it. You you you tell Dave.
>> So, I love history and I've always wanted to write a book about the history that never was. That would basically be the title. essentially things that happened in our history change one item and how it affected the rest of it. You know uh there is a professor I used to have who used to say that the butterfly effect happens in every item of our existence.
One thing changes the dominoes fall. And so I always wanted to see write a book that was mainly you know factual. it could possibly occur. But essentially something changed like the Egyptians never invented geometry, >> right?
>> Where would we be today without that?
Someone have would have already obviously invented geometry at some point, but how many centuries later, especially when you think about the Egyptian, you know, culture is over 5,000 years old. And at the time that Cleopatra was born, there were already ancient ancient Egyptian historians.
So that always fascinated me to write a book about one item changes and the dominoes that affect and how and where we would be. And if you haven't seen the show for all mankind, that would be a huge part of my book right there is if the Russians landed on the moon first.
Great show. Great thing on Apple TV. Go check it out if you haven't. Now you have plenty of time to think. Go.
>> So Dave, you need to make sure that you I I know you don't read books. Um, >> but I think they did a mini they did a miniseries. Yes, you can. They did a miniseries. Uh, it's Stephen King book called 112263.
>> Yep.
>> I think I've told you. Have you seen it?
>> I have.
>> Okay. Yes. Yeah. That's very similar to >> really good book as well.
>> All right. So, what would I write about?
Uh, I think I would write about the I would keep it to gaming just because I'm in it right now and it would be about the psychology of gaming. I would really get deep into it. Um, the good, the bad, the ugly, the psychology of gambling. That would be the title of my book.
>> Some big stuff coming on that, too. We have a couple of channels coming on talking about gambling, gambling addiction. Uh we're working on getting the professor of psychology back to do that. Completely slipped because of time, but a lot of stuff on that. So I would definitely like I would read that book, Mark. Well, I'd listen the audio book or at least watch the movie very least. I'd watch the movie, >> the the miniseries after I get right.
>> I don't know about that.
Uh that was an interesting question though. Thanks for bringing that one.
Um, from Nate Mson, why aren't table game winnings of 2,000 or more issued at W2G like slot machine winnings? So, table game winnings are generally your own stake you're putting up. So, let's just say for instance, I'm playing blackjack. I have to put up as much money as I win, except for if you get blackjack. Now, this does change. If you're betting the exotic side bets in a lot of these table games, you do get taxed on those winnings, especially if they're over a certain amount. Varies by state. Uh very good case in point, a good friend of ours, she was actually playing blackjack and she was playing the high uh the different bets and won $16,000. I think it was three red sevens that she got. Um and that was taxed. She was very much not understanding. She was extremely excited. She called me and um uh Randy from over Midsouth Slots. Hey, help. I need help. I don't know what's going on. I think they're trying to scam me. We rushed over there and we're looking at it. I'm looking over the math. I'm like, "Yeah, they took taxes out." And so that's what So some of the bets in table games do take taxes out if they are the exotic bets, but if it is anything within the game, they do not.
For instance, in Ultimate Texas Holdem, if you were to hit a Royal Flush that pays 500 to one on your blind, you don't get taxes taken out of that. That is a table stakes win right there. But if you bet the progressive and that progressive hits, you do get taxes taken out of that. I realize it's weird, but it does vary by state to state.
Uh, >> I should say on the on those plays, it varies state-tostate, not the actual taxes. Federal taxi has a good one here.
If you only had 10 to 15 minutes to prepare a new gambler on how to gamble smart and safe, what tips would you give first without it feeling like a lecture?
>> I would be speaking so fast.
>> Yeah. Can we do it in 10, 15 minutes? I know I can't I can't say anything in 10 15 minutes. I can go super fast. I don't know if they're going to retain it, but >> you just hit you hit the bullet points essentially.
>> That's what you do. You hit the five bullet points that's on the back of our little players card. I wish I had one around here to show you guys. I don't.
>> But essentially, you hit your bullet points, you know? I mean, don't over complicate it.
>> Yep.
>> That's what I would do anyway. Just >> No, I think that's great. I, you know, >> one sentence each is all you need.
The first thing I would tell them is is thank them for asking. Like, you know, they're they're curious about creating a plan before walking in there. That's always huge, right? And uh that's that's always the biggest thing. And then >> the stuff that we always talk about, budget, control, taking breaks, know when to quit, know when to walk away, all those things, you know, that's how you do it. And just teach them the reasons why each of those things are important. I think just saying it is okay, but people want to know the why.
Why why are you telling us to take a break? Well, there's a psychological reason for it, right? Um, why do I need to bring the budget and not just take it from the ATM when I'm there? Well, there's a reason for that, too. Like, there's a reason for every single thing and tips that we give out. And I think it's important that people hear that side of it because if they don't remember it, they may remember the story behind it because I think we're as humans, we're we're more interested in the story than just like bullet points.
Sometimes we have to hear like what's the connection? How how am I going to connect this to my behavior? And if you hear the story and you hear the reasons why we are saying these things, I think it does help to kind of move it along a little bit and you try to remember those things. But um yeah, I mean creating the plan and asking that question whether it's to us or many of the other people out there, that's the right thing to do and I'm glad people are doing it and not just going in there blind because we we know what happens there.
>> Absolutely. We know what happens. This is a great one from Snarky Slots question. How do you get a casino to abide by ADA aisle with? Very difficult, that's for sure. So the first thing to do is most casinos do work very diffic work very hard to make sure the ADA compliant is all WinStar definitely is not one of those casinos. Now they will say look all our aisles because they do have walking aisles that are all clear and are ADA compliant. However, they're in between aisles are not. I'm not sure of specific laws on that if that's enough or what. But the first thing to do would be to contact um the an ADA advocacy group in your state. Uh maybe contacting the U. Secretary of State or the attorney general and say, "Hey, I have a complaint. I believe this is in violation." That's a place to start. I would definitely start with a local advocacy group over going to the state directly because a lot of times going to the state directly moves as slow as possible. So hopefully you're able to get those changes made. I do hope that more casinos do really be active about making sure that those uh ADA compliance are done because it is also a safety issue for everybody.
>> 1999 super chat from Buckeye slots.

What what did he say?
>> Oh my god. From ESPN.
>> If you empty the Joe, you feel the what does he say? the the Terry. What was it?
It was Terry. Uh, >> you fill the toner back up or whatever it was.
>> Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Oh, man.
>> You make another pot of coffee, Stan.
Yeah. Tutu, >> man. That is a good one.
>> That's a good good idea. Oh, I love those commercials. Those are so >> And slots got another one here that I was wanting to do. What video slot do you guys want to see in three bell version and why? Hm.
>> I mean, realistically, >> I'd like to see Chili Lucha in a three reel with the active reels.
>> I'd like to see that >> something wild and crazy with a lot of action going on. Uh, I really do like the Moby Dick game that came out recently from Every Zar, but I think really the best adaptation so far from a video to a three reel has got to be the Huff and Enough Puff with or Huff and Extra Puff uh three reel version. I say that's probably the best adaptation. I would like to see more of that except not in Huff and Puff versions.
>> Well, they have the pots now. Did you see me play that one in New York?
>> I didn't yet. I have to go look and see that.
>> Yeah, you have to go watch that. Uh they have it um flaming pots in a three rail version now. It was fun.
>> Oh, >> it was definitely good. You remember that bank of machines that we played by the uh card tables that have the uh Bing Bam Boom or whatever the >> Yeah, I know the ones.
>> Yeah, they converted all those to that.
>> Damn, I like Bing Bang Boom.
>> And >> wait, what about Jackpot Party?
>> It's not there anymore either.
>> Damn, I like >> they converted all three of them now.
Now, they may have put them somewhere else, but I I think they converted all those.
>> And Moby, Dick, and Zar are gone from Downtown Grand.
>> What? Why?
>> Well, I I was talking to Tim about I was like, I wanted to play it cuz Dave played it last time. He's like, I think you guys were the only ones that ever played that game.
>> I was like, what?
>> I like that game so much.
>> Yeah, I know. Oh, well. I mean, >> that was so entertaining.
>> What can you do? I feel like people need us just standing around slot machines telling him, "You got to play this machine. You don't know what you're doing over there. You got to come play this machine."
>> That game asked Tim about it. He was like, "Yeah, you know, I was like, "Yeah, Tim, I know it's not your style. I get it."
>> But it had a great combination of video and >> No, I agree. I I mean, it was a is he said it, too. He's It was a beautiful cabinet, but people just weren't hooked in by it, you know? I hope they don't give up. Don't don't don't give up. Keep doing those kind of ones.
>> I'm going to have to find that game cuz I've been looking forward to playing it on my next trip.
>> Yeah.

Okay. Uh we're going to Colorado probably hit up [ __ ] Creek Casino.

>> So, we'll have >> She probably won't kill us. She'll probably just maim us.
>> Yeah. And then kill us.

Okay. If we're coming to Oregon, I've already gone to Seattle to see her.

She'll try to make an excuse, but we won't.

>> Um, every single time I've seen that machine and played it, I've I've lasted a while. Um, I remember on the cruise, not the one that we were on, Dave, but the one before that, they had that and I think that was one of the three machines that I played the entire time I was on that cruise. Um, and it's the one I did the best at.
>> Uh, we played it once at uh, Kashada >> challenge thing. Yeah, that was fun.
>> Um, but yeah, that's a great great game.
If you do see that one, definitely give it a try. I like it. And then prepared to be disappointed when you don't match anything up.
>> Yeah, that I mean that's pretty that one. Yeah, 3x.
>> At least you get paid for the progressives though or for the multipliers.
>> That's true.
>> At least they give you that.
