Making LEGO apps, Typewriter apps, Music apps, 3D printing apps...
Added:be prepared for a flood of Lego like apps. I can't say they're Lego apps officially. They're Legoesque apps. I had an old uh application that had bricks, although they didn't have bottoms. Um, and then I created and just uploaded, as a matter of fact, on the arcade today. And I guess I can show what I've done since. Uh thing where you can go and you can type in a name or a word or whatever and it gets you your name in in like a Lego font.
>> Nice.
>> Which is pretty cool. And and I had like bricks kind of swirling in the background. I mean it's just like for whatever. And I based this on the an old brick app that I had built a while ago.
And so you know just for background noise it's not a not a huge deal. Um, you know, I I'm not I'm not going to spend too much time on that. I mean, the the crux of this particular app was specifically uh you know, legoying, you know, a name like you can include it's a transparent background. So, like you do Matt Evans or whatever. Um transparent background if you want. You could, you know, add it as an overlay.
You can do whatever. And just making the Lego graph graphic, right?
uh even though it's not officially Lego or anything like that, but so I was playing with the background there and I'm like, you know, this just would seem like a shame just to use it as kind of a backdrop for this app, which is kind of fun. So what I wanted to do was abstract this. It's just simply called BrickMark and abstract it into a like a floating kind of screen saver of sorts.
>> Yeah.
>> And so I'm I'm currently iterating that there's definite bugs like collisions.
bricks don't bounce off of each other.
They go through each other. Uh sometimes they seem to randomly appear out of nowhere or disappear. Uh two bugs um that that I've already seen. Although in this iteration I've introduced the little the smaller the plates, those didn't exist before. So now I've added plates as a uh quote unquote dimension to um to this kind of uh experience. And then you can go in and I've got to rearrange a few things here. I can see it. Uh you can go in and you can change like the theme or choose your own theme.
Uh there's the pallet, there's a mood.
So, uh you can go in, you can change how how much each piece wobbles, so like a low wobble. You can totally randomize everything.
Uh change the amount of pieces, change the speed at which they rotate or fly through.
Increase the drift.
Um, you can choose the the balance between plates or bricks like the small, you know, the the thicker bricks, right?
Or the more standard bricks versus the the the smaller ones. You can increase the glow. Of course, it's going through and it's adding things now. It's adding features. Um, or it is adding features like the the ability to capture. So now you should be able to capture a video or a PNG and put the icon in the settings menu.
give the settings a better theme style not generic and have video wait sometimes now with claude I can't get um I can't get certain scripts to run which is a little annoying to me um so this is what I've been doing right I've I've been I've cardinal sin I'm sure but I've been going back back and forth between um Claude and uh Opus, not Opus, uh ChatgBT 5.6 Saw.
>> Oh yeah.
>> And by doing that, I would just get stuck with Claude like over and over like you're doing the wrong like do my normal thing with Claude and it was just like it would destroy things. It was almost acting like Gemini. I don't know if they nerfed Claude in the past week, but I'm telling you, it is not doing what it was doing before. I'm telling you.
>> So, I've been using Claude and Fable and I haven't I haven't seen a lot of issues. It's been relatively quick and, you know, normal.
>> Well, maybe it's what I've been doing like the like the stuff. So, I'm still working on that typewriter, right? And this is the typewriter that that uh Nick had done or started. And I've been iterating and I kept going around and around and around in circles with um uh Quad. And ultimately I said, "Forget this. I'm taking it to um Chat GBT. I'm taking it to uh uh 5.6 um uh pro what level of salt." and it has been able to whip through to at least get it ready for production and I couldn't I I tried so hard in Claude to get this done and just kept it introducing regressions. It wasn't paying attention. It'd be missing instructions. So I was like I don't know just my heavy I guess it was my heavy use of Claude that had been a wild frustration. So now I've kind of taken and I don't know what my new workflow is because obviously this started with Claude. Uh Nick had done it. Pixels had done it. Um look you can the paper animates and it goes out. That's kind of neat. Um kind of fun how it happens. It's animated. I like that. Um then uh like for these bricks I tried to so again using the the the bricks that I've been playing with I'm like well I've got these mechanics right and so I wondered like could I make like an infinite like you scroll in every direction like bricks that oops bricks that fall and like you know to be able to pick one up and move it around and sort through it and stuff. And so I'm taking again the same foundation of these are fun little bricks, but what else could I do with them? And so this is the uh this is the outcome of that.
And I kept running into collisions with claude. It wasn't paying attention. I had to move it to chat GPT. I had to move it over here in order for it to work right. Um and so now it's going through the the the the changes that I I had suggested. I haven't introduced plate the concept of plates yet the smaller plates. Um although what I will do is say hey I've got you know new dimensions or physics for these bricks you know could you include them you know in this in so I'm I'm you know I didn't make the definitive you know brick before starting this but this will be another one that it's it's it's pretty far along. This one doesn't need to be that complex. It's just the idea that you've got bricks that you can mess with. You can change the theme of the bricks. It's this infinite canvas of just random bricks falling, you know, on a table on a mat, which I just I think is just it's come on, you just keep going forever and ever and ever and you it'll never stop. Um, then I did another one. I started this one with chatbt and this is where I think chatbt or specifically 5.6 Excel ex really accelerates. Um I said pack it with as many settings as you possibly can and it did like claude has always been reserved when it comes to like you know adding different settings for the apps that I want to make and uh chatbt doesn't it it's not it's not conservative.
So I I built it and I'm like, "H, let me see. I got to move it to claw. I got to got to get it ready." And it wasn't uh it wasn't doing exactly the way I again round after round after round of telling it specifically iterating the way I've been used to iterating these apps. And I'm telling you, Opus and Fable for me on the web got stupid to the point where I just took it out of claw. I said, "I'm fine. I'm taking it back to chat GBT.
I'm taking it back because I can't get it done." the thing that I will use Claude for, like right now I'm building out the app to be more Pillo arcade friendly. Um, so let's see here. There we go. Uh, the settings panel needs a radically new design. Need three choices to choose from. first for designs. Uh, capture video is not working out right for some reason here. And I've noticed that it's getting to files is a little different.
And granted, I am like way um this is my original uh um uh the original um thing that I was using for um uh the uh um the app. And so I just forked it here. I'm like, "Hey, why don't we just do this?" Yeah.
If I See, there's a it's a bug. Like, for some reason, it's it it did it's it's done it fine before, but it's not doing it fine now. Um, also the capture menu is not opening.
Okay, we're going to let that go. Um, this is currently building the Oh, the windchimes app. So, I'm done iterating the chimes app in chat GPT, just the wind chimes, and I moved it back over to to kind of get it prepared with recording because I've got all [clears throat] those skills already built into uh chat GPT.
>> Um, but I guess let's see here since so I'm up to 3 371 apps now, but I did today I did Brickark. Uh, this one was a kind of fun one. So, like you know, you you've seen Pac-Man, right? You know how Pac-Man works. This is Slackman.
So, the idea is that you've gota you've got to avoid or chomp distractions, right? You got to get coffee or you take care of tasks and you get these, you know, Slack-like notifications.
Uh but but just waiting. Oh, here I get that's that's more points cuz I got a um a added Oh, I got distracted. So, I freeze cuz I got taken a back. A meeting got me. The meeting got me. But then I can jump into Slack mode.
Look, I'm in Slack. Matt, [laughter] did you not notice?
>> Yeah.
>> You come on. That's hilarious.
>> You're playing Slack, man. In Slack.
>> Yeah.
>> You know, you're just moving through.
It's a pro uh procedural um you know never- ending maze. You know, just like never- ending tasks and you have these like warps and stuff like that. You can get oneups, you get the notifications that come in, yada yada yada. You can turn that on or off. But this took a while. This one took a long while just to get right.
>> Um you know, because it was at first it was like really overwhelming. I'm like, dude, no, no, no. This is just got to be straightforward. This is the simple mechanic, but I want to be able to move through there. Those are warps to get you out of tight spots. You can move from the top to the bottom. There we go.
Shift over. So, you go back to the start, jump into Slack, play, arcade play, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. So, either way, uh, that was Slack, man. I see a bug that I got to fix in that one, too. Um, saw an app that I wanted to iterate. Um, I'm a big fan of of pixel art. Let's see if I can do a generation of something here. Let's do this.
Um, no, that's slime, man. I don't.
So, it takes the image and will turn it into pixel art or it'll take like AI generated pixel art. So, let's say I go over here and say make a pixel art of me. Go into photos.
Uh, what would be a good I don't have any I don't have many very many photos of me honestly. I don't do I got a lot of video. Um, here. Let's do that.
That's a That's an AI image of me as a bust. 3D printed. Uh, make a pixel art of me. Create an image. There we go. Uh, I'm not ignoring comments, by the way.
Um, if the building of an app is commoditized, the idea and IP must become the moat. Uh, marketing anymore seems to be the the moat. We're living in an AI bubble. Everyone's playing around unseriously while tech companies rake the subscription token fees. I think people are definitely taking it seriously. Absolutely. I think there are more winners than just anthropic and open AI.
Web AI cannot see your larger project struggles when a project gets too big.
Yeah, no doubt about that. Um although I'm not worried too much about API keys.
That's that's Matt's territory right now. But I'm this close to installing codecs and uh um quad code. This close.
I just feel >> I I'm a big proponent of cloud code, but I told you before the stream >> um that I don't really like the new chat GPT app where they combined codeex or basically just renamed app codeex, >> you know. I just I mean I know the M1 is fine. It is ample, right, as a machine, but I'm like >> then I'd want to get a faster machine, you know? So, I'm just kind of like, I'll I'll wait right now because I don't want I I don't want >> I've run it on an M1 before. It's not bad. Like, I mean, I I mean, I built the Trident Track Tracker app, >> uh, which is an, you know, app iOS app on an M1. So, now I have an M5. But, >> so sometimes pixel art that's generated isn't true pixel art. Although, I think Chat GBT did a much better job than than normal. And so what this will do is it will uh allow you to truly generate uh pixel art uh from like something that isn't quite like the blocks aren't perfect pixels. Some are stretched like I can see just a few very subtle but I can see some of these sections are they're blurry and they're not um perfect. So, what this will do is it'll clean up AI pixel art and turn it into true pixel art. And so, if I zoom in here, let's go in and then do go escape. Can you see the difference? Like right here, like this is not it's not a true pixel. It's split in two. Uh as opposed to if I go, it cleans it up.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> So, it it converts. And I saw this someone did one. and I'm like, "Oh, I kind of want to do something similar."
And so that's exactly what this does. It um it will clean up uh pixel art and make it true pixel art. AI pixel art versus real pixel art.
And I mean it's subtly you couldn't tell the difference, right? Like you couldn't necessarily tell the difference outright, but there is a big difference between the two. This is not true pixel art. It's pixel artesque. This is this is true pixel art there. Isn't that cool? So, I you know, I thought it was neat. So, now if I generate uh pixel art, uh I will be able to more easily convert it into true pixel art. Uh that's a free little app. Uh did a deep a reef a reef dive. I was having problems with the generation of the fish in the reef. I was like, I really wasn't liking how things were looking. It just didn't look right to me. It looked kind of fake. And and like if I'm going to do an app, I'm like, I want it to look fake. it's going to look fake for real.
But like the fish just weren't it they it wasn't doing it for me at all. And so I ultimately I went through a couple of iterations. I'm like, you know, I wonder if pixel art fish would look better. And they do because it's clear. I mean, these are just pixel art fish. They're just pixels on a screen. So it works. So it's a pixel art reef that animates.
Um, and then from Nick's or Pixel's stuff, I wound up taking it and running with it. There were quite a few things that I felt, you know, I needed to do to get it production ready, unifying a lot of things, uh, increasing the species of fish, making a few more things generative.
Um, quite a few fish here, as a matter of fact. Um some of the original conventions are still in it too. Um changing the water like you know changing the clarity of the water current the temperature for different fish you know you've got different view or different lighting conditions.
Um you can explore you can go into swim mode. I I really had to clean up the fish. the fish really for me like these are definitely computerenerated fish.
They're not perfect, but I'm like I needed something. Uh Nick had a great foundation, but I'm like when you got in close I'm like it just wasn't it really wasn't doing it for me.
>> Um so I I needed to uh to me I needed to uh you can feed the fish too. I cleared the tank though so um there we go.
Um, you can go full screen, you can record the aquarium, animated GIF video.
I put that now in pretty much every one of my visual apps.
Uh, but it is a a p, you know, a generative 3D aquarium there.
And it works. I feel uh uh feel it works pretty well. Download it locally. That's what Mike says. Yeah. Well, I mean like I'm fine in um you know not having everything run locally at least for now.
Uh I don't know if I have it the fish I'm not sure if the fish are going after the food. I think the food is dropping and I also see like the uh the autocycle may need to be resorted here. Um because I turn on the autocycle uh often if I'm using it kind of as a back backdrop for what I've been streaming online.
Um but uh either way, that one was a heavier one. And then this was based on uh a a a prompt that I caught that was uh it's an interesting prompt. Um, and what you do is you you drop glass bricks onto a little platform.
>> Try not to um have them fall off or over. There we go.
To rack up points.
And as I said, you can kind of spin around, get different lighting. The one that was done by um uh open AI was Oh, that's really precarious. Uh was more um more uh pastel and I wanted something a bit more neon.
So, I went with and kind of re I the when I prompted mine, it ended up being a lot more Oh, man. Uh a lot more um you know jelly like. Yes. I like that style, but also more more neon as you spin around. I just thought it was a much much better environment for what I was kind of going for rather than the pastel look. But it was based on the same prompt. Also based on the same prompt was this one, paper glider.
>> Very, very simple. No buttons to push.
Uh, and you fly through and it with sound on it will like go and you get, you know, you can stack up to 50 bonus until unless you miss one and then it it the counter resets, but you fly through these rooms and the these never- ending rooms. That's it. There's no Yeah.
crash, right? It's basically turn turn the volume on or off. Like it's up to you, right? Um, so there's that one was kind of fun. And then someone on X was talking about basically building a uh a like an asteroids kind of app and I'm like oh you know I've never really done one so let me try it. And I'm like it looked too much like and I could probably redo it in vector but it looked too much it I I don't like flashb based types of games. Like I just I'm not I'm not a fan. It just they don't look complete.
They look fake to me. Um and it could just be the era I grew up in. So, of course, I made mine retro, and so it's sitting inside of like an Atari console kind of thing, and you fly around and you you shatter. Hang on. I don't I'm on the first level, so I don't see a lot of And you got to rescue these astronauts.
Um, there's a UFO. Crap. Um, there's an asteroid.
They blow apart.
See, I could probably do a Faithful Asteroids uh redo uh in um with this, but I decided I'm just going to make it a simple Atari game. Oh. Um and so this is how it turned out. It's got the the switches up at the top. So like you select a game, game select, uh just like game reset. Uh you can even choose black or white like you could back in the day with the Atari.
Something called Astrostorm. Very, very simple.
um fun, you know, simple fun. I may come back to it, I may not. Uh I had to take a CCAT exam this past week and so I used CAT GPT to build a trainer for for this.
Um it'll even help people that help other people with CCATs. Uh but here just based upon the tests that I took and granted I was iterating with these tests um like it gives me stats. It helps me build stats of like here's how I did with word questions, shape patterns, logic and checking in and math. Well, I knew math was going to suck, but then it gives you kind of like a here's the test you took. Here's how much you scored. Here's the date that you took it. Um and I feel like even doing this kind of helped. And so I built, you know, nice little thing.
Okay, when you run into this, this is the thing you may want to do. Or in terms of practice, let's go ahead and skill practice. You can go in and say which region recorded the lowest unit shipped. So, what's the lowest number?
East. And then what it'll do is it'll say that's right. Here's a quick way to think about it. You know, the clock stopped at 6.9 seconds. Uh, I answered it without a hint. You know, so it it it can step you through as a trainer for taking this test. So, I thought this was a great way of of uh not just learning but also, you know, testing and and saving that data and refining. So, will I come back to this? I don't know. If I get feedback, I will. Uh I don't know if I'm going to do that uh outright. Here's another one that I feel was blown out of the water by uh chatbt. And I don't think I showed this last time you did, but there's like Did I Did it get fleshed out? Was it published? I don't think it was published though. So, >> okay. Yeah, now it's done. Um, but Chad GBT did a great job at giving me a ton of options. Babel or or Opus did a better job at choosing better uh seamless patterns. Um, unfortunately, Chatbt did not do a good job with that.
Um, but I was able between the two, I was able to get it to the point where I could ship it, including being able to export an STL of it. Although I want Jeff Bar to try it, to give me his suggestions for it.
>> Uh because he he really uses this stuff and I'm like, "Hey, what do you think?
Where where does it need to be uh fixed?" Um what made me try chat GBT for coding again was I was running into problems with um Claude one, two, I realized, oh, I've got an account that, you know, is doing pretty well and I want to try this 5.6 to see how how it goes. And I was really happy, genuinely happy. Um, stained glass was the last heavy app that I did in Claude. Uh, it's quite simply a stained glass generator.
Uh, and you can, you know, randomize the type of stained glass that's made. You can go in and you can even design your own. You can draw symmetrical. You can flood fill and all that stuff. Or I can drag in an image and make it stained glass.
>> Oh, [laughter] isn't that ain't that wild?
>> Yeah, that's pretty good.
>> Yeah. So, so you can add any images and there's a wall of eyes, but there's dust and lights that come through.
Um, which is pretty wild.
Uh, and then I'm I'm seeing I am seeing another bug here. Like the the settings the settings menu is gone. like where the hell did it go? Um I think what happens when you add your own setting menu seems to to disappear. Uh but you can increase lead thickness, piece count, um decrease, change window height, uh on the wall, uh the window size, uh you know, all sorts of all sorts of things. Uh you save your settings, load your settings, or set it to defaults naturally. You can just have one window.
You can stack them vertically and horizontally, but you can see the sun is moving.
That's the dust in the air. So, as the sun moves, the the light moves as well.
This was kind of a fun one, but I like I said, I already see a bug. Um I see I every time I use them, I'm like, I need to fix this. This is another one based on code that I had found that I liked.
um just it's it's quite simply like a a generative circuit, you know, things happening, Tron-esque, set it and forget it kind of thing.
And then it just it's you could save a wallpaper image if you like or send out pings and then it it it redraws and stuff like that. Uh but I thought this was this is just kind of fun, silly, crazy, stupid. Um send a power surge.
You can uh rebuild the board. You got keyboard shortcuts, etc. Keyboard shortcuts. There's uh here we go.
Pointer, you can orbit.
You can drift. So, there's constant slight movement.
Again, it's a little crazy. Uh the mandala. Did I had I had I done this one yet?
>> I don't think so.
>> Um I hadn't. uh really done a mandala a mandala yet uh before. Uh in fact, let me go and you can export this one as a um as a SVG if you want, which is pretty wild. Uh you can set it on autopilot and then let it do its thing. Change the colors or the color scheme.
Um uh and obviously I'm not you know spending too much time or attention on this but yeah you can now draw mandala uh or you can just go muse and then it'll do it for you or give you a starting point. Uh there are different ways of like uh constructing. You can stamp different objects in there. Um so anyway just a fun silly thing. Uh then harmonia was based on code that I had found um that it's music or it plays music and then you can you can build. So if I double click or drag or add the key to the strip then it'll play it so I can listen to chords and progressions. Uh retro wave road I just updated such that um the mountains move better with the road rather than just being random. kind of a synth wave drive on its own, change the world, uh, add a CRT mode, take a photo, record video, change the speed, etc., like the throttle, turn it down. Uh, yeah. So, I was busy, I guess, this week.
>> Yeah, >> I did a few.
>> How did you do on your tokens this week?
Did are you still >> uh I'm still okay for now. Um Oh, I reached a length of message after all the resets. I did have to of course wait um I think I shouldn't look. Oh, I'm actually doing pretty well cuz they reset it again.
>> Uh >> so I'm doing okay. Yeah, I'm doing more than okay. And most of what I'm using anymore right now is Opus.
Yeah, I've uh I've only been using Fable if I get stuck now. Um, >> very smart. trying just Yeah. trying to so that >> so one of the things that I did with chat GBT versus Claude I actually had it I've been working on trying to get a new logo for Matt makes 3D Oh yeah.
>> And um >> I used Claude >> to get the design and oh my god it like finally nailed it. But I had been trying to do this with sorry I've been trying to do this with Claude but I put it to open or I put it to >> chat GBT.
>> Yeah.
>> And chat GBT knocked it out of the water to be honest. Like I didn't I just I wanted it to just create it and then I'd turn it into Claude. I'd get an SVG file and then use Cloud Design to kind of remap it and everything. But yeah, um >> yeah, so I published it I published it earlier this week, but it's uh >> yeah, I think it it blew it out of the water.
>> Nice.
>> Nice.
>> Uh so this is what I'm going to be working on after I after we're we're done. Looks like the brick, this brick thing for the most part I feel is fine. The only challenge is the only thing I need to add are those other pieces from the other.
>> You should do a claw machine picking up Legos.
>> I've done a claw machine in Gemini. It's been a while.
>> I think it would be cool to collect Legos or something or pick up Legos.
>> That is entirely possible or plausible.
I just think it's Look at that. Look at how many bricks. Look how many Lego bricks I have.
>> Yeah.
>> Look how it just goes on forever. Um, jostle them around, change the uh, like I said, the uh, color scheme.
And now what I want to do is grab the code from here to get the um, updated bricks.
because I want to use updated bricks in the in the app. So, what I'll do is I'll download brick C. That's going to be the name of that this or the the screen savery thing. Um, where is it? Uh and we now have new brick designs as seen in the hatched and up that should be should be extracted and incorporated in what we are working on here with the designs.
>> Your claw machine is a win.
>> Yeah. I have >> It's not a You have no idea how many iterations I had to do with Gemini in that one. Oh my god.
>> Like I haven't even >> Yeah, it hasn't even skipped one yet. It like Wonder what I do if I try to go where there's nothing.
See, I went where it was nothing and it picked up the one next to it.
>> Yeah. It It probably did that just to to decrease like frustration.
>> Yeah.
Not bad though. The design looks good.
>> Yeah. No, that was that was Gemini a while ago. A long while ago. Like last year.
>> Yeah.
>> Long long long long long while ago.
>> Uh I'll be right back. I think the dogs are getting into something. I'll be >> Oops. Click C. Bricky. There we go.
Let's see if chat GBT understands exactly what I'm talking about. Deep pattern collision audio level brickie plate design selectable pieces are up.
Bring There we go. Great.
And then I go through and I'm going to like I need to fix other things too.
Like I said, I saw the uh stained glass had a problem. So this is where I'll open Claude.
No regressions. No regressions. No regressions. Stop. Stop that regressions.
Aims the settings button doesn't come back when you make a make a window out of make your own window. Add a and or from a photo. Okay, there's that.
I think that's the one I noticed there.
Um, pixel's fine. Living aquarium, I think I need an adjustment. Um, reef dive, I think I'm okay.
Reef dive was fine.
Living aquarium. I think I wanted to adjust a couple things in there.
Um, can we better organize the settings menu?
Um, in the but minus plus for pitch needs to be better styled styled because it looks a bit inconongruent right now. Let the user choose their own sand color.
That's the one thing. Living aquarium right there.
Substrate. I I guess I could say substrate.
Well, let I like I like the idea of that. Um uh I think the wait the view I want to reorganize the view tab. I think.
Hey, there's those two things I saw.
Oh, wait. Uh, can we make it such that fish chase the food when it drops in?
There we go. There you go, Nick.
Yeah, I've tried starting things with Fable. Tried and I gotta tell you, I wasn't like terribly impressed.
I think we're going to go with B.
B makes the most amount of sense for this.
Oh, windshine is done.
Uh, there we go. Is that it? Um, the always goes in the settings menu. I don't like a free floating.
>> Okay, I'm back.
>> Question mark. Okay.
Capture and record works. Uh, wait, is that broken because of the layout? No, it's not.
Capture and record is broken quality in the quality section. I'm just I'm getting a um and and make that start recording option stand out.
Can't tell that he's got these eight buttons.
>> I'm giving this a a once over here for the wind chimes.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> What did you do the design in?
>> Uh, this was originally done in Oh, was this chatbt or fable?
>> I think I think this is a chat TV.
>> Yeah.
>> Um I don't I don't I'm I'm trying to think what I've started in Fable that like blew me away.
Um yeah, I'm not sure what I've done in Fable Outright and I've gone back and forth between so many of these now.
Okay, there's the bug. Fix the bug. All right, I am now uploading the updated version of stained glass. That's why I like demoing my stuff is because I'm like I run into, you know, um, fixes, if you will.
>> Yeah, sure.
>> Or the uploaded photo. Is there a way to change the size without zooming in or out of an image? East side always seems to be the same cuz when I see something I'm just like, "Oh man, this this could be better." Uh including the uh which is the one I saw. Um gladder is good.
Live wire.
I could probably do this a hell of a lot easier, but you know what? I like doing things the hard way sometimes. No, I don't. I don't like doing things the hard way.
By default, this kind of stops being interactive to fully interactive and always in motion uh quickly when you're not touching it.
There we go. See what happens with that.
I'm probably going to break more stuff as I do it. But SAV, I don't think there's anything else I saw that I wanted to kind of get to in here at least or in there.
Uh, I've got the found. You see now I've got like again I'm going back and forth between targeted fixes on um on chat GBT and in the with the typewriter. Yeah, >> I think I'm down to the last thing I need to do >> typewriter.
>> What's that?
>> Did you fix the back of the typewriter yet or?
>> Yeah, >> it's got a back stop, >> which I need to I I probably should say just make it taller. I'm like it's fine for now. I'm like I'm not going to I'm not going to complain. It's fine. It it's it's enough of what I need it to do. Um, I've got if I load it uh full screen here, always takes a second, which is a little annoying, but sec I'll show you. I've got it's a little easier to show you full screen.
Um, when it load, you can turn on um a background and a floor. So you can put it on a desk with windows and it etc. Although it looks like it introduced a regression of the corners.
>> Um which I can fix it around. That's not a big deal.
>> Uh that's a regression. But then it's got like I said it's got windows in there as well. So you can kind of have ambiance as you're typing. Uh there's also a uh focus paper so you can type full screen and hear it. It was a dark oop dark and stormy night, you know. Um, new sheet exit and then the new sheet it falls, you know, on the other side. But, um, >> I still think you should make an option to export your notes or your things to >> Yeah, maybe as a PNG. That'd be cool. I could probably do that.
>> Something [clears throat] that you can share somewhere.
>> Yeah, that's easy. you I made it so it turn you can turn on key jams. So like the keys got you look they got stuck there.
>> See how they got stuck.
>> Yeah.
>> Um and so you have to click to unstick them.
>> So they get stuck and then you have to click to unstick.
>> Nice. The true typewriter experience.
>> Yeah. The true typewriter experience.
There's the return dings and everything.
Um, right now I'm working on, like I said, the design for a couple of the things is not they're not working the way they need to be working. But checking out the chats. Do I need to do anything here? Uh, rename to P size. Wait, the detail slider. Oh.
Um, let's say rename and widen range.
See, it was there, but I didn't see the settings. So, like I've just I'm trying to make it user friendly for me.
Uh, I can't see the link here, Nick.
[clears throat] Um, all right. But look, this is this is I would say kind of normal. I've got how many tabs here? One.
Oh, this is done here. Wait, did it work? Did the plates Okay, the plates are in there. There's the settings.
That's a fun settings menu. The settings scroll bar is unstyled.
Randomize.
Uh, screen saver mode goes full.
Don't have the Oh, wait. Hang on. Did it for screen saver mode. Does it keep that message there? [clears throat] Keep the Oh, it doesn't. Okay, great.
These are the things I look at, right?
These are the things I look for. Um, there aren't related link links in this.
Um, dial the buttons in differently for a section.
Uh, make the floating settings button more unobtrusive.
I don't want it like glaring, right?
Make sure these bricks cannot collide uh go into each other, but instead oh bounce bounce off each other, forget the typos. Uh buttons at the bottom of the settings panel are inongruent.
There's auto shuffle the glow. Um, there's one other thing that I was going to do for this. What was it? Oh, sometimes and pieces still pop in and out randomly for some reason. And I would rather not have that happen at all.
If they're on, they're on.
See, I like I do a round of like QA like all this stuff.
>> Yeah.
because this is the stuff that I see happens espec es especially when rift is on okay bricky cuz I didn't know what else to call it bricky it's a it's a sea of bricks I have a feeling I'm going to have to take this though to um chat gbt to fix the collisions cuz that's the only way that I was able to fix the collision collisions in in this app. Otherwise, I just couldn't I could not get the collisions to stop. Couldn't get it.
Like, each piece is different. You I mean, they look like Lego pieces for real.
And I kind of want to make a right click pivot around just to make it a little more interactive.
Chimes I feel is pretty pretty good enough to be released.
Um you the purple is impossible to see against this settings background.
Use another color. You didn't turn release gust into a button.
Settings. Okay. Everything else everything else looks okay.
See if I can get 90% of the way there.
I'm always going to miss I I have something that's called a um a launch um launch team. And what that will do is it'll go through and it'll like clean up all the bugs.
Not all of them, but it catches things that I didn't necessarily catch.
There's one thing in here. Okay, I got the capture and record. Oh, that's what I wanted to check. Capture record. There we go.
manual button in capture dialogue.
The description at the bottom of the capture dialogue is slapped up against the buttons above it. No spacing, small details, small things.
And we 3x sky 3 uh 3x sky presets.
I need a randomize button at the top.
New universe.
Put the new universe button at the top of the settings panel and make it stand out.
They make good sounds.
>> I mean, it's like one of those things that you could like leave going in the background for sure.
There we go.
And this is good.
And I'm going to assume it works until I use it again and it doesn't work or someone tells me, "Hey, can you make it do this? Hey, can you make it do that?"
Which which is mad maddening when that happens.
There we go. Okay. Uh calm.
Uh, how alive?
All three or a combination thereof.
Sometimes cleaning up is not the fun part, but it's also like if someone's going to look and try something, you want it to look right. You want it to work well.
>> Yeah.
>> Well, at least I do, you know.
No, I think that's a fair.
>> Now the UI items. Okay, hang on. No teleport, no bounce.
Yeah, I think for this I want to rightclick and pivot. Let letting the user pivot around what they see. That's my first inclination.
Or click click to freeze and pivot. drag to pivot or right click it to pivot with animation. I'm trying to think of like how I might use it or how someone might use it.
I don't know why I don't know why this I don't know why I'm doing this.
I think this is going to be like if you were like Chris, what are you going to have this week on the stream? I think this is going to be it. I'm going to have I'm going to have this going every 15 seconds. It's gonna you're just going to see Lego bricks flying around and glistening with music and um every well probably every three minutes you're just going to get a different scene with different colors and themes.
I I mean I don't know because I can I don't know.
Um although I'm probably going to see like plenty of bugs as I do Wait, did it did it issue? Oh, it did. Okay, great.
Let's see. I Okay, the settings icon incre lot of different pieces. Let's slow it down. Decrease the wobble.
Increase the drift.
Okay, that's looking good.
I'm not seeing the bug yet. If I do, they're just Lego pieces of dreams.
I'm crazy, Matt. Um, can we 2x the pallet pallets and moods?
And the reason why is cuz like I'm I'm trying to increase serendipity.
That's why I like, you know, letting them be just completely random.
I swear to God, I'm It could be the glistening that I'm seeing.
I'm just making sure none of them are disappearing. Yeah, the bricks are still disappearing, especially as they hit the edge of the port. They could go all the way through the viewport entirely, not just blank in in the existence.
What else do I see here, Matt?
Uh, screen saver mode should be um full width.
Button button for screen saver mode should be full width. Let the user pivot by clicking uh left clicking and dragging from the middle.
No zoom.
Uh spread.
>> Yeah, like I said, I have a feeling this is going to have to get fed back to um Chat TBT to kind of finish up.
[clears throat] See, it's ignored me three times. Opus has ignored me three times.
>> Odd.
>> Once again, these buttons are still not themed.
Make the section headers a new color, not the same color as the sliders.
Yeah, I I I've asked it three times to do that, Matt. Three times.
>> That's crazy.
>> I told you it's like it's gotten stupid.
Seriously, I don't know what's going on, but it's gotten really freaking stupid.
And sometimes Chad GB just thinks and thinks and thinks and I'm like, "You better return to something that's really good, man."
>> Yeah. I I've had that problem where it just keeps going and I'm like >> going, you know what I'm saying?
>> Yeah. Don't don't don't think too long. I don't want my tokens to go.
>> All right, I think I'm gonna call it here. I got to take the dogs out and then uh I'm going to try and continue to work on this plugin for Maker Deck so I can test tomorrow.
>> So uh I might need to upload some prints tomorrow.
>> I can on the news site. I'll send you a link.
>> Okay, great.
>> So but okay, >> ready to go.
>> All righty. I'll see you talk to you tomorrow >> on the flip side. Thanks, Matt. Bye.
