Statistical analysis of Jordan Love's first three seasons as a starter reveals he is a top-tier quarterback, ranking sixth in passer rating (101.2), second in EPA per dropback, and eighth all-time in touchdown-to-interception ratio (2.86), with 80 touchdowns and 28 interceptions—performing better than Aaron Rodgers' first three seasons (86 TDs, 31 INTs)—demonstrating that his perceived inconsistency is not supported by the data.

What ESPN Had To Say About The PackersAdded:
I want to take a look at some things that were said about the Packers on ESPN in the past few days. If you guys are new to the channel, I cover all things Packers. So, if you don't want to miss any Packers news, subscribe to the channel down below. So, Ryan Clark was talking on Get Up, and here's what he had to say about the Packers and Jordan Love. He said, "If you get the run game going now, Jordan Love can be the player we've been expecting him to ascend to be for the last 3 years."
He also said, "Doesn't it feel like for the last few offseasons, Adam and Woody, that we've been talking about Jordan Love possibly becoming this MVP candidate? And even if you look at the playoff game last year against the Chicago Bears, he needed to make a play late, and we end up seeing Caleb Williams do that. Will this be the year that finally Jordan Love takes that next step? And I believe that goes along with the rush game for this team." So, first off, here when he brings up the Packers versus Bears playoff game, that was an ugly game. I just we rewatched the highlights again, and once again, I was shocked as to how the Packers just gave that game away. But, Jordan Love outplayed Caleb Williams in that game.
Caleb Williams put together some really nice nice drives later in the, you know, at the end of the game to win it. No doubt about that. But, Jordan Love was nearly lights out. Four touchdowns, zero interceptions, 323 yards. And there were seven whole points that were left off the board because McManus missed multiple field goals. And so, I don't feel that that game is an example of, you know, Jordan Love needing to to play better football.
All in all, he had an incredible game that day, and I think more of it was due to the, you know, special teams, as well as the defense falling apart at the end there. And if the Packers would have made at least even that one extra point, they would have been in field goal range at the end and not had to get a touchdown. So, there's no doubt Caleb Williams played good at the end of that game, but I do not think that's a game where you would say, "Come on, Jordan Love needs to take a step up and and play better football." He played very, very good football in that game.
And when it comes to the first quote talking about, you know, the player that he said we've been expecting him to ascend to be, if he's talking solely about becoming an MVP candidate, I understand cuz I still think that, you know, we have yet to see him, you know, solidify himself as the best quarterback in football, even though I think there are arguments for it. I think no doubt Jordan Love is a top-10 quarterback, and I think that there's a very good argument to be had for him to be a top-five quarterback.
And I still from time to time see some thoughts out there making it sound like Jordan Love is this inconsistent turnover-prone quarterback, and that is just not the case.
Last season, Jordan Love was sixth best when it came to passer rating at 101.2.
He was second in EPA per dropback. And he faced the 11th highest pressure percentage among quarterbacks in the NFL. Jordan Love was incredible, and if we compare here Aaron Rodgers' first 3 years to Jordan Love's first 3 years, as you can see, nearly identical. They both had 47 starts in their first 3 years starting once they took over as a starter.
And Rodgers had 86 TDs, 31 interceptions. Love had 80 touchdowns, 28 interceptions. So, less interceptions than Aaron Rodgers in his first 3 years starting. And he is at this point of his career in comparing it to Aaron Rodgers in his career at that time, first 3 years starting, a better interception-touchdown-interception ratio for Love at 2.86 to 2.77. And right now, I was just curious. I looked up the all-time touchdown-interception ratio rankings, and of course Aaron Rodgers is there. He really ascended after his first 3 seasons when it came to that TD-interception ratio. But Jordan Love is eighth all-time among quarterbacks when it comes to touchdown-to-interception ratio. So, this idea that he's just this turnover, you know, prone quarterback is just not factual. The numbers do not show that to be the case. And so, I still think that we can probably even see more from Jordan Love, but I think up to this point he has proven that he is a a top-tier quarterback in my mind, and I think that he deserves even more respect than he gets, you know, around fan bases and around the NFL.
And I do think that if you look at the Packers, if they had been healthy and not missed so many field goals, that's probably a much different game. You can always play what ifs, but that's just the the truth. That's just the reality of the situation. So, I think looking ahead, Jordan Love in his first 3 years starting has really done more than we could have ever hoped.
And I I think moving from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love at the time, you're at least just hoping that Jordan Love is a competent quarterback, that you're not going from Rodgers to just a a quarterback that you may have to move on from if they struggle, you know, at a high level. And instead, we have seen Jordan Love playing, you know, as a top 10 quarterback in the NFL. And as we all know, the Packers have been very good at drafting quarterbacks and in finding the guys who are able to take their teams where they they want them to go. And I still think that Jordan Love can continue to take these strides forward, but we've really seen what he can already do. And he's already proven himself in the NFL. So, those are my thoughts.
