Major international events like the World Cup can create shared experiences that unite diverse global audiences in collective reactions, as demonstrated when thousands of strangers worldwide simultaneously booed a political figure during the 2022 World Cup final, illustrating how shared cultural moments can transcend national boundaries and create unified social responses.

Trump Unites the World
Added:Watch what happens when the screen changes.
Do you know who that is on screen? Yeah.
That's Donny.
Mhm. That is several hundred, probably closer to a couple thousand people, strangers who have never met before for the most part. A variety of different nationalities, backgrounds, religions, teams who have very little in common with each other except for the fact that they all came to this spot to watch some soccer. And yet, despite rooting for different teams in a pretty contentious final, the one thing everyone seemed to agree on was that if Donny comes on screen, you boo. Now, watch this. You may have seen some of these clips already, but I really want you to get a feel for the actual scale.
>> President of the United States on the field alongside Gianni Infantino of FIFA.
>> Yeah, that's tens of thousands of people, again, from all walks of life booing the guy who's supposed to be our leader. And that's not all. See, just a couple of minutes after I filmed that first clip that I showed you, I got a message from my sister completely unprompted, all the way from a pub in London where she was watching the match.
She messaged just to tell me that everyone in the pub that she was in also started booing. That's around 5,000 mi away. But, that's not where it ended, either. Remember this moment? Yeah, the one where he's supposed to hand over the trophy and get out because it's not his trophy, not his moment, not his win. Hey Donny, I thought you were cutting off all trade with Spain, including visits.
Whatever happened to that? Cuz here you are overstaying your welcome. Though, welcome is a bit strong, perhaps. Hey, is this the dementia or the delusional narcissism?
Maybe it's a bit of both. And by the way, this isn't the first time he pulled this, remember? Almost exactly a year ago, to the day, when he refused to get out of the way or just simply didn't understand that he was supposed to. I'm not exactly sure which is worse, again, when handing over the trophy to Chelsea at the Club World Cup. Do you remember how much people were laughing at him?
Cuz some of you didn't seem to grasp it back then. Though maybe, maybe you'll start to get there now. Especially cuz this is a way bigger deal. The World Cup is the most viewed single sporting event globally. An estimated 1.8 billion people watched the final and this moment. That's over five times the population of the US. And what's perhaps even crazier about this moment is what you aren't seeing, which is, ironically, that people essentially prepared for this. Remember this whole meme? They thought, for some reason, that the call he made on behalf of Balogun reflected well on anyone. Well, apparently, some organizers actually handed out a bunch of red cards to people who were attending the World Cup, specifically for them to be raised when Trump showed up. You know, just in case booing wasn't enough. You know, the meaning of a red card being you're done, get out. I don't believe they predicted that Donnie would once again refuse to get off the stage, because honestly, who really thought that he would do that again?
But it did kind of seem to work out perfectly. I know his supporters are completely devoid of any sort of self-awareness, because otherwise they would have been mortified long ago. But maybe this will drive it home. FIFA posted a photo with him cropped out.
Australian commentators were caught live talking about how he would have to be edited out.
>> It was now, so they get out of it. They can edit him out of that.
>> In Sweden, apparently, the commentators were making fun of him or laughing during the moment, at least according to some comments. And to be honest, I'm pretty sure that this was happening on TVs and in stations all around the world in just about every language you can imagine. If this happened somewhere else and you know about it, please let me know. The one that I knew how to find pretty easily was Spain's broadcast. To their credit, they mostly kept it together, you know, being gracious winners and all that, but This is so embarrassing. How do you not realize by this point that he has made this country the laughingstock of the entire world? Obviously, more so his supporters, but no one's coming out of this decade looking great. I actually met someone the other day, I swear to God, who was traveling here and his friends had dared him to buy a MAGA hat as a gag.
A joke. I did ask him not to buy one, but he did say that he would be literally wrapping it in like three bags so that no one would know what he had because it was so embarrassing. It was a dare. Those of you wearing these things unironically are quite literally an international joke. And to be clear, you are not in on it. Or was this secretly the plan all along? What is it? Like 600 D chess at this point? Destroy the country so thoroughly so that everyone who ever supported him looks like a clown and then profit off of the joke they've all become. Honestly, it's not that far off from everything else he's doing, making money off the people he managed to con.
>> [sighs] >> Anyway, hope you're proud cuz everyone's laughing at you, not with you.
