In human sexual reproduction, fertilization occurs when a sperm cell (male gamete) fuses with an egg (female gamete) to form a zygote, which then undergoes mitotic cell division to develop into an embryo; fertilization takes place in the oviduct, and identical twins form when the early embryo splits into two separate cells that develop independently.

REPRODUCTION IN HUMAN BEINGS本站添加:
Welcome to this uh platform. So today's biology lesson, we're going to continue with revision. Now I want to answer this question that you're able to see right here. Now just by looking at the question, you should be able to tell the topic from which the question is coming from. Yeah. So this question is coming from the topic reproduction. Now when you talk of reproduction should be aware of sexual reproduction and a sexual reproduction. So specifically this is coming from sexual reproduction in humans. Okay. So let us read the question. So the question reads figure 3.0 summarizes the development or figure 3.0 summarizes the development processes during sexual reproduction in human being. Okay. So as you can see here this is figure 3.0.
Now when you are given such a diagram very important to analyze it carefully so that you see what is happening and of course what can help you is the followup question. So let us look at the question that follows. So identify the cells labeled N and P. So let us go to the diagram. So identify the cells labeled N and P. So what are these cells? Now what is happening here uh is that this actually should be able to identify this one as the sperm cell. So this is the sperm cell and of course this is the oam or the egg. Now what is happening that this one the egg and the sperm fuses and they form this one. Okay they form what this one and this is the process of atrization. So what is formed when the male and female gamit fuse or their nucleus fuse? What is formed is the zygote. A zygote is simply a fetized egg. So to identify n and p n we are going to say is the oam.
So n is the oam or egg. Then of course um in the case you're asked of this this is the sperm cell. Then of course that is the zygote. So P is the zygote.
Zygote simply the fetized egg. Okay.
Now what is the process one here? I'm sure we have a question that is going to ask about process one. So we should be able to come back to this one.
Okay. So we have identified the parts that is for one or question A1. We have answered it. Let us look at question two of A. Name the processes one and two. So the process that result into the formation of a zygote when the male and female gamit fuse. So that is fetterization. So process one is actually fertilization.
Okay that is fertilization. Then what about process two? So process two is this one. Look at this. This is zygote now. And it has turned into two cells which means they have divided. So that is cell division. Okay. That is cell division by the process of what?
Mitosis. Okay. That is the cell division. By the process of what?
Mitosis. Is that okay? All right. So we have answered the second question of A.
So name the processes one and two. So process one resulting to the formation of a zygote is known as peterization.
And you should be able to define fetization. Then process two is the zygote which is a fetized egg divide into two cells identical by the and that is process two which is mitosis or you can say cell division. Now if you say cell division is generally what kind of cell division that is mitosis. Okay.
Then suggest the part of the female reproductive organ in which process one take place. So in other words they're asking you which part of human reproductive system where fetterization take place. So fetization take place in the oviduct. Okay fetization take place in the what? The oviduct or phopian uh tube. That is where reproduct I mean that is where fetterization take place.
Okay. Then of course maybe be able to find out where does implantation take place because after fetization what follows is the implantation.
Then question C explain what happened at arrow.
Explain what happened at arrow for identical twins to be produced. So what happened at arrow? So I'll give you a clue of what happened and we are going to uh explain really comprehensive. So make sure that you able to listen carefully and of course be able to put everything together and just give one answer. So what happened at for identical twins to be produced you know identical twins it means they will be the same. Okay. So in other words for you to produce or for identical twins to be produced the cell split or divide into two and each cell is able to grow independently. Okay that is what happened uh for twins to be produced.
Now be able to explain that in the comment section. Really what happened for the twins to be produced at ARA. Is that okay? I guess that is okay. Then let us look at the last question.
Describe two situation which can result into infertility and cause process one not to take place. So which one is process one? Process one is this one.
Now what are the two situations which can result into infertility? Okay, infertility which means not uh for fetization not to occur. That's what it means. So can be both in male and female. What are the some of the situations? So this one also I feel is a kind of a simple question that everyone of you are aware of the answers. So let me hear from you also here you can put as many let us have even about four okay of the answers to why uh to what happen or situations for fetization not to take place resulting to the formation of the what the zygote okay so be able to explain as well there what else do you need to know under reproduction as you as you are preparing if you are writing the exam uh soon so I should be able to know the reproductive organs in male and female, okay? And their functions. And also aside from that, you should be able to know uh the uh secondary characteristics in both male and uh female. You should be able to know uh methods of birth control. You should be able to know to to to know those. You should be able to explain the menstrual cycle and also you should be able to explain fetization, the stages that are involved in birth and all that. So that is basically what you need to look at under sexual reproduction and of course for sometimes I've not seen uh a question let me say so make sure that uh you look at this one it might be something that you expect okay now for those that are writing soon you're writing exam soon so we are conducting intensive uh revision of which I've compiled the past paper questions that is paper two from 2016 to 2025 so those if we can go through together surely you're going to uh get something that you can use in an exam. So if you are ready to join us or you are interested to join us you can simply contact the number 09764256 uh3 but also for those that are writing IGCSC it might be November session we are also registering for intensive uh revision the subjects are variable we have mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology. Okay. So those are the subjects that are variable. Okay.
