Rising gas prices disproportionately affect lower-income Americans, who must work approximately 14 hours to afford one tank of gas, while higher-income individuals absorb these costs as a smaller percentage of their income; this economic burden is compounded by supply chain disruptions, regional transportation costs, and the need for essential workers to commute, creating significant financial stress for working-class families across the United States.

Americans Are LOSING IT Over Increasing Gas PricesAdded:
Um, so gas is almost five bucks in Colorado.
I found out in LA it's 10 bucks per gallon. We just got supposedly got our last shipment of oil from the Middle East. And so I don't know. I perceived this getting way worse, but how crazy is that? You know, like >> gas is $4.50 here in Kentucky, y'all.
$4.50.
And I'm in Lexington.
I even think at Sam's it's like $410.
I'm about to bring out the horse and wagon again. I CAN'T KEEP DOING THIS.
[screaming] >> It When is it too much? You know when when is it too much? Because if I got to go through another pandemic on top of not even being able to AFFORD [ __ ] GAS, I'MMA LOSE IT. I know I'm not the only one. I feel like if we come together as a collective and and we just crash out even though nobody wants to, but hell, we can't afford life any [ __ ] WAYS. CONGRATULATIONS. WE MADE IT TO OUR 30S, OUR 40S, WHATEVER the [ __ ] age you are, and we can't afford [ __ ] Even if you make a LOT OF MONEY, YOUR BILLS are higher than what the [ __ ] Like, it just doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make any sense. What are we working for? WHEN IS IT TOO MUCH?
AND THEN EVERY TIME you talk TO A BABY BOOMER OR SOMETHING, THEY JUST TELL YOU TO GO TO SCHOOL, GET A BETTER JOB. WELL, I'M SORRY, AUNTIE. THE JOBS AIN'T JOBING NO MORE. THE MINIMUM WAGE STILL 725. How the [ __ ] THAT WORK? NOW THEY TRYING TO PUSH FOR 25. SO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME Y'ALL CAN PAY US MORE? Y'ALL JUST DON'T WANT TO.
>> People are completely tapping out of society because of the high gas prices.
A lot of people rely on gas prices to be stable, not really increasing because it's a cost that's very necessity for a lot of people going to their 9 to5 jobs.
And when gas prices significantly rise, this is going to add a huge bill increase for a lot of people, especially the lower class who are already living paycheck to paycheck. So, they're really feeling the pain at the pump when they're seeing their bills increase at the pump. And there are some ways to alleviate this. The first one, of course, is to make sure you're getting a gas efficient vehicle. Maybe a hybrid is a good vehicle to have. But a lot of people are realizing we need to shift to electric vehicles as soon as possible.
So, we're not at the mercy of gas prices such as this, which can change overnight drastically. And it really showcases who this increase hurts the most, and that is the lower class. The upper class probably doesn't care that gas prices have increased a lot because it's only going to increase their bills by a little bit and that's going to be a small percentage of what their actual income actually is. And because of this, this isn't really a priority to the rich. They don't really care about a gas prices cuz it doesn't affect them. It affects the lower working class the most. Let me know in the comments below what you think and take a look at the rest of these clips.
What do you actually mean that they have a new budget of a billion dollars for this [ __ ] ballroom? He ran his whole [ __ ] campaign on saving money on lowering the debt of the country and you're telling me they're pushing for a billion [ __ ] dollars for a ballroom and I'm paying $4.30 a gallon and he tells me, "Oh, that's just that's just the price you pay for being an American." Like, what the [ __ ] What are you talking about? This is not a deal.
This is not a steal. This is a steal.
You're stealing FROM ME. YOU'RE STEALING FROM ME. I'M CRASHING OUT. I'M CRASHING OUT. I am so sick of going to work every day and making money and paying taxes.
And they're not using anything for the people of the United States of America.
THEY'RE USING IT FOR ISRAEL AND BILLIONAIRES. HOW ARE YOU NOT PISSED OFF? Oh my god. I'm so sick of giving rich people a [ __ ] tax break when I'm paying out the ass just TO GO TO WORK.
WHENEVER GAS prices started to go like this and um gas went to about $3, I was like, I'm just going to get a little bit so I don't have to pay this high price on gas. And I was like, you know, it's going to come back down. It'll be fine.
Whatever. Um but I just got to top off and get just I'm not I don't want to pay $3 for gas. But now I just like that's only 13 gallons and it was 377 and that's including all the discounts and everything on it. So, and this is not even the big tank on the big vehicle.
Like 51 bucks is nothing right now.
It just took 70 dollar 70 USD to fill up my gas tank.
I don't know what the hell is going on with the gas prices, but I'm about to have to ride on some US [ __ ] dick cuz what the [ __ ] is going on? I guess I'mma have to see a man about a [ __ ] horse so I can ride that [ __ ] around town because $70.
$70.
>> Okay, these gas prices are getting out of control. On Sunday I got gas at HB for $365 or 369 a gallon. Today I go to HB and gas is $389.
So gas has gone up 20 to 25 in less than 5 days. Like these prices are out of control at this point. If gas continues to rise on the days that I have to go to the office, I'm going to have to get me a scooter and ride on the shoulder on the freeway or I'm going to have to start back doing the parking ride, which I haven't done the parking ride since co. But gas prices are out of control. I was watching a video and this guy said he was inside the gas station. The guy came in and asked the attendant, "Did I pump my gas after I paid you?" and she was so confused and he, you know, she pulled up the camera footage to show him like pumping his gas. He said, "Well, I put $10 in and the needle didn't move."
You know, gas is got to be bad and expensive when you put $10 and I don't know what kind of vehicle he drove and the needle doesn't move, but you are also so confused like, did I or did I not pump the gas, right? You know, it's bad. Something has to change because I'm going to be honest, the war has not like calmed down. The war has actually escalated. So, unfortunately, like this summer, gas is going to be even more expensive. I'mma be honest. I could see it getting up to $5, which at that point, we going to have to start selling plasma to be able to fill our gas tanks up.
>> Okay, so back in March, I started like recording the gas prices in my town. Um, and I thought I would finally share them because I think it's been like two months now. I think I started on March 6th. Is today May 6th? Um, and it has significantly jumped in the past week, I feel like. But anyways, it's it's going to have a date on here. Um, and I think there's only one time that it's a different gas station, but it was about the same anyway. So So yeah, watch these gas prices go up.
Okay, it's March 4th, 2026.
Gas is 309 debit at my local gas station and 2.99 for cash for 87. All right, it's March 6th, 2026 and it finally went up. Um, it is 305 cash and 315 credit. Okay, it's Monday, March 9th, and gas has went up 10 cent. It is now uh 309 for cash and 319 for debit credit.
As it's March 15th, we just paid 405 um a gallon for the 89, but regular gas is I don't know if you can see it from here. Hold on.
Regular is 365. Okay, it's March 17th and gas is 421 a gallon for 89. So, yeah.
March 20th and gas is now 4:25. It's been a minute, but it is April 29th and that's how much my gas is. So much it cost to fill in my park. It's cost like $25.
All right, y'all know what time it is.
It is May 6th and the gas I run is $469 and it just cost me $48 to fill up a little bitty Chevy cruise.
Unled is 417 on this. I've been on this planet since 1986 and I think I've seen every gas crisis, 911, Katrina, pipelines, wars, uh Joe Biden's. I did that and today's the first time I've looked at gas prices and gone, "Holy shit."
Okay, I've decided to ride a bike to work and back cuz No, I'm not doing this. I'm really not doing this cuz what?
I just I just I just decided to put half half gallon half half of my tank. I come back inside. I LOOK BACK. I DIDN'T EVEN SIT DOWN.
I DIDN'T EVEN SIT DOWN. I HAVEN'T [screaming] EVEN PUT MY KN TO THE SEAT.
I I turn back to see it's already 45.
What?
WHAT? IT'S ALREADY 45. WHY IS IT 45?
$45?
What are my gallon?
I'm not >> minimum wage should not be the same price as one gallon of gas. No one should have to work an hour of work to only be able to afford one gallon of gas. Stop telling people to choose a better job. You didn't have to choose a better job back then. minimum wage was set in place so that people will be able to work full-time and take care of their home, have food, have transportation, and apparently be able to go on a couple of vacations cuz that's what they was able to do back then. So that means you need to work about 14 hours to be able to put a tank of gas in your car to be able to get to the job. We're not even talking about living expenses. We're not talking about food. We're not talking about having you have children, you have a family. There's no reason people should have full-time jobs and be sleeping in their car because they cannot afford to pay the rent. That is ridiculously high right now. I can't even imagine being a college student and needing to pay for an apartment and splitting rent. Splitting what?
$2,500 splitting that between three people. Nobody No, no college student should have to do that. Really and truly, no adult should be paying $2,500 for an average apartment that was $1,250 6 years ago.
>> Bro, I know. Did y'all just see what gas prices were this morning here in San Antonio?
Bro, no. I will never go back to my truck right now. You will never see me in my [ __ ] truck. I just drove by 416 at Quick Trip for just regular unled.
Like, that is [ __ ] insane. That gas is at $4. So, I was like, you know what?
Maybe it's just them. They trying to tax type [ __ ] I just drove down Bandera.
Everywhere is $4. 4042. Like gas is officially at $4, y'all. Mm- You'll never see me in a [ __ ] gas car again.
Ouch. [sighs] This morning gas prices were 434.
Now I just filled up $459 and so I say in a matter of hours it went up 24 cents.
Yeah, it is about to suck.
This is going to affect a lot of things.
Like I was saying in live, this is going to start affecting a lot of aspects.
gonna affect employers, affect food costs, energy costs.
Oh man, this is about to suck.
Man, >> I am already making decisions on whether or not I'm going to attend certain events based on gas prices and how far away these events are. And I'm sure I am not alone on that. And soon I wonder what point are we going to get to where work becomes that event, you know, where it doesn't make financial sense to even drive to and from work if gas prices are continue to trend the way that they're trending. And it'll be something like child care, right, where the lesser earning parent stays home because it doesn't make financial sense to send your kid to child care if you're not going to earn enough to make that work out. And I'm wondering if governors of states are going to have to declare states of emergency or do something radical like demand that work from home become an option for non-essential personnel, especially personnel that works for the state government, right?
Like we should be thinking about that stuff. And I know that, you know, the next thing is always, well, what about the essential personnel that'll be stuck with these high gas prices? Well, supply is low. So, why does it make sense for non-essential personnel who don't need to be in person taking some of that supply? Wouldn't that alleviate some of the pain? I don't I don't know. I'm just thinking out loud. There are so many people I know that do not need to be in an office. And places like the bank I used to work at and other corporate places I worked at, they did RTO, return to office, not based on need, like you need to be there, but more like we need you to come in because we're the evil empire. You know what I mean? Like that's the only reason that they're going in. I know governors can't force private businesses to do that, but start with the state government. start somewhere because this is getting bad and we need options.
>> Now, some other ways to save money at the pump would be to downloading the mobile app. Of course, you want to get Costco gas or Sam's Club. Even Ralphs has some cheaper gas prices than other stations, but you want to download the mobile apps for other stations such as Valero, um, Shell, Chevron, because they're going to be giving you a discount, usually like 5 to 10 cents off per gallon just by having the mobile app and paying through the app, which is a very good thing, especially if you're filling up your tank almost every single day. It's going to add up for the savings, but we're all feeling it at the pump. These gas prices are just insane.
And across the entire country, even the world, we're feeling the pain of the price increase.
>> I made a video saying that the price of gas is getting too close to minimum wage. And there's like a bunch of people in my comments being like, "Who makes minimum wage anymore? If you're making minimum wage, you're a loser. That's your fault."
disabled people, moms going back to work, elderly people, high school kids, college kids, like entrylevel jobs. Like people still make minimum wage even if it's not many people, even if not a lot of people, don't you like still want those people who are in those positions to get paid a living wage, like a living wage, because minimum wage is not a living wage.
Like why are you laughing at them? We are so much. No one has class solidarity like the billionaire class, like the upper class. And they [ __ ] hate us.
And they laugh at us hating on each other. Like the guy with a thousand bucks and a job who pays $40 an hour is like stupid guy making minimum wage. We are so close together, guys. Like we are on the same raft. The billionaires are on their yacht over there. You know what I mean? Let's let's all go together to to find a nicer boat to be on. You know what I mean? Like the billionaires don't need all of the money for their yacht. They can spend a little money to put us on a nicer boat.
And that means raising the minimum wage.
That means you being okay with those stupid people making a minimum wage, making a living wage. Like you should want that for them. You should want better wages for them. You should want better wages for everyone.
So, I just went to get gas. Now, I drive a Toyota Highlander, okay?
And I can take the cheapest gas. When I tell you I have to fill my tank and it cost $65.
$65. I used to pay 40 bucks. I'm not sure what's going on, but we're not going to be able to afford anything. Can you imagine the people with the luxury cars that have to take 93 and above? What are they paying?
$100, 85, 95.
We need this war or whatever is going on to stop because we're not going to be able to go anywhere. I mean, we're just going to be staying in our houses, >> but the fact that gas keeps getting higher and higher. Check this out, bro.
Just Just What the [ __ ] is that? $439.
449. I just checked premium. That [ __ ] said $5.49 five something almost $6.
I live in Louisville, Kentucky.
I don't I don't live in no [ __ ] Texas. I don't live in Florida. Don't live in Cal. I live in Kentucky.
Kentucky.
Louisville.
Gas used to be $2. See, mind you, I normally don't trip about gas prices. I I really don't care, bro. Money is money. You spend it, it goes away, comes back. I don't care.
But the fact that I got spent almost $100 and I'm not even in a V8 to fill up my car is is crazy for me, bro.
>> I had like 90 miles left in my car as far as gas. I got a Nissan Sentra. Tell me why. I'm so pissed off. I'm so mad cuz I used to spend $35 to $40 on gas. I done spent $50.
$50. It was um $5.89. So basically $5.90, which is basically $6. It was $6 for gas. Gas. And I live in the county of Los Angeles, the city of LA, too.
We need a car to get around. So you're telling me y'all charging $6 $6 for gas?
Oh, y'all got me [ __ ] up. Y'all got me so [ __ ] up. I'm tired of this. This cannot be the life that we're living.
This can't be it. And then y'all close Spirit Airlines.
What people aren't getting. It's not just that your gas is going to be $10 to 12 when there's a world war. It's that the world runs out of gas when there are world wars. America is a nation. The world historically has run out of gas.
And when you finally get gas back into your local gas station, you're not even allowed to go fill up. One, you can't fill up all the way because it's rationed. Two, it's $10 to 12 a gallon.
Three, you're assigned a specific day that you can go get gas. They'll be like, "Do you do you have these numbers on your license plate? Great. You can go Monday. Do you have these numbers on your license plate? Great. You're allowed to go Tuesday." Do you know what happens after that? Thousands of other [ __ ] have the same set of [ __ ] numbers on their license plate that you do. So then you sit in a line around a gas station for hours waiting to just put a little bit of gas in your car and god forbid you live in an area of this nation where it gets to be 105°. You're probably going to be wanting to sit in a running car for the AC. So you're not sitting in a car for 2 hours in 105 plus degree weather waiting in a line just to get gas. This is what people aren't getting. It's not just it's going to be $10 to 12 gas or a gallon. It's that it's going to be rationed. the world will run out of gas.
>> Gas prices are going to continue to go up even if the straight of Hormuz opens today. What people are not understanding is that the straight is now an ongoing issue.
Insurance companies have dropped the policies on the tankers that are stuck in the straight.
Many of those tankers won't really be able to move until their insurance is reinstated. And if they do move, it's a travel at your own risk. So if they hit something in the water, it's like that tanker is no longer insured. So the company's going to have to eat any of those damages in case something happens.
So a lot of those insurance policies won't be reinstated until the insurance companies feel like it's safe, as in it's not a liability to give this tanker a policy again. And when they have to hash it out and go through, oh, what are our premiums going to be? yada yada yada. you know what type of liability you are general to us. Then they'll finally process the insurance. Then it'll be a good idea for the tankers to start rolling through.
This is not an easy just lift the gate and everything goes back to normal.
And boats take a while to get to where they're going.
And keep in mind, we are now behind on shipments and infrastructure in the Gulf States for oil has been targeted and hit.
This is not a just quickly fix thing, turn on the faucet and we're good to go.
This is going to take a while to get back to normal, if we can even get to a semblance of normal.
This was a poor choice to attack Iran knowing and they claim they knew. The US government says they knew Iran might close the street because they've done it before.
So this was a bad idea because we had no mitigation strategy. That's what makes this a problem. The administration had no plan for an energy crisis that was going to be caused by Iran.
And I don't understand why all these foreign countries are like, "Iran can't use this as, you know, leverage." Y'all go yell at the United States. That's who needs to get yelled at. It's ridiculous.
People are even saying anything about Iran. People need to go yell at the United States. The United States caused this problem. That's who they need to come and talk to.
That's my soap box. Y'all have a good night, >> guys. Y'all know about those gas prices in Georgia. We haven't seen gas prices over $4 forever.
Even right now, um Kimp has the gas taxes cut off. And for gas to go up to $429 cents in the state of Georgia, that's diabolical. But look, I'm at Sam's and gas at Sam's right now is $3.69 69 cents a gallon. And out on the streets at um Quit Trip and those other places, it's at $4.29 a gallon. And this line at Sam's is so long. Hold on. I'mma get out and show y'all. And y'all can see that Sam's is already running out of gas. Hold on y'all.
It's so many people in line for gas right now. And look, people not even off from work. It's like it's like 3 o'clock right now, so people just trying to gas up before the gas go up to $5 a gallon or hit $4 a gallon at Sam's.
Y'all know it's it's getting crazy out here, y'all. Tell me what y'all think about these gas prices. It's It's crazy.
Bye, >> man. Bro, the gas is $4.88 in Ohio today.
I'm not going nowhere.
>> I'm not going nowhere, bro. I'm surprised there's so many cars in the road today. Like, it's so busy. If I turn this camera around, look at this, man. The roads is packed, bro.
Like, I just came from the gym. I'm about to take my ass right home. I'm looking around at all these pumps, bro.
The most the most I seen somebody put on one of these pumps is $15.
I remember $15 would get you at least six six gallons maybe. I'm looking at these pumps. People got two and three gallons and $15. I can only imagine the people that's out here driving trucks.
Like I know y'all putting $90, $120, $150 in these trucks. And that's just for the the 4x4s. I can only imagine the big the big big bands and stuff, man.
I'm cool, bro. I'm cool.
[ __ ] Trump. The >> United States is getting hit with heavy gas prices, okay? And it's all because of what's going on with the Iran war, Trump's Iran war in the straight up arm moves, the Persian Gulf. Now, one of the places in the United States that is getting hit the hardest is the United States Midwest. Okay? The reason why the Midwest is getting hit so hard is because the Midwest in America is further from the seapports where oil gets imported to the seapports and then it has to be truck into the Midwest. So that's like the mid America. Okay. So we're talking about Arkansas and you know the places like those. A lot of those places are Trump country. And when I say Trump country, I mean that a lot of those people voted for Donald Trump.
A lot of farmers in the Midwest, upper Midwest, they voted for Trump. You dig what I'm saying? They supported Trump and influence other people to vote for Trump. You understand? But they did not know that Donald Trump would go and start a war in the Middle East in the Persian Gulf in a straight up formoose starts up a blockade increasing what oil prices because he's choking the war is choking supply and demand. So with supply and de with a low supply, high demand, prices go up. You understand?
That's what's happening. So I kind of feel bad for the people who live in the Midwest, right? First, I feel bad for myself, but I feel bad for the people who live in the Midwest who did not vote for Trump, but have to be suffering these hard consequences of very, very, very high gas prices.
Okay? compared to other regions of the United States because they got to factor in trucking prices because that whole got to get shipped up in the Midwest, right? So, they got to factor in trucking prices, all types of taxes, this that whatever. You know, it's a lot of money to get it up there. Okay. And not to mention these farmers who are in the Midwest, farmers for Trump. Remember that group of guys and gals? Yes.
Farmers for Trump are now feeling it.
You dig what I'm saying? Because a lot of these farmers cannot afford these fuels. Remember, they did not sell their crops because other countries like China were buying crops from South America, places like Brazil and these countries. That's where um China started to get their crops from. And that was due to Trump's tariff.
Because of Trump tariff, they could not sell their crops. remember saw you bean they started getting it from Brazil and those places so they took a loss there with Trump's tariffs now they're taking another blow they're taking another blow right now with these high gas prices right so think of the farmers in the Midwest right here this is tariff this is high gas prices that's what Trump gave them like a mosquito crush them like a mosquito tariff high gas Midwest farmers. But you now you learn.
Okay.
Talk about well well Trump Trump is here to help us. No he's not. Trump is there to help himself. Obviously you've seen that $400 million plane.
All types of other [ __ ] Stay safe.
Well, well, well.
Look at this.
Look at these gas prices.
This is not even This is not even the highest that it is in some states. Yeah, I live in Las Vegas. Look what gas prices were today.
Look at this.
We get our gas from California, so they're also paying high gas prices.
So, this this is not even the highest.
Do you live and what are your gas prices? And also, where are all the Trump supporters?
Where are they? Where are they with their bumper stickers?
Where are they posting about how great gas is?
Yeah, I'm not seeing it either. Get ready for skyrocketing food prices.
Ah, okay.
Look at this price. I don't think anyone can see it right here.
$97 last month.
By this time last month, I fed my tank $47.
I have [sighs and gasps] I f my tank $47 $50. I have never been more than $55 this evening.
I just, you know, I wanted to get a a I want to fill my tank.
I did not even I know that the gas the gas rates have changed but not UP TO THIS NOT UP TO THIS.
I started filling my tank and I came back inside my car and sat inside my car till the tank was filled up. I went back to remove it and I saw this I don't know daily so daily to reduce the the gas I can't I can't afford this I can't pay for $97 for a gas I can't I need to go inside and talk to someone I need to go inside and talk to someone $97 for a pass.
What is going on? Where are we heading to?
Something something have to be done.
Good morning. I want to know why in the hell is gas $459?
I was literally two days ago I put gas in the car and was choking over the gas being $4.19 but $4.59 Tampa I remember when gas was 99 in Tampa and $459 rents going up electric's going up bills are going up Everything's going up. You can't afford nothing for your kids. And all the jobs are paying the minimum $12, $13, 15, 16, but nothing. How are people going to support themselves? Food is crazy.
It was hard for me to get a little bit of groceries, maybe 10 items, and it was more than $100. And it was very like the cheapest stuff that I can get to feed five people in my house.
What is going on?
Our president keeps saying that things are going down. How? I'm about to be homeless again.
I was homeless a year ago with my kids.
It was horrible. And I'm about to be facing the same [ __ ] again.
I'm single mom. I don't want to be a single mom.
I have the capabilities of being a w a good woman to someone, but I don't know. [clears throat] Nobody wants a woman with kids, I guess.
But it's sad because women are the backbones of men and we're supposed to be able to support each other.
My backbones, my baby daddy. I don't give a damn what nobody says. That man, I will give him praise. If he has me to get on my knees and say thank you for all he's done for me and the kids, man, I'll do it. Y'all can send this to him.
I don't care. Prices are crazy. I'm about to lose my mind. [clears throat] I'm about to lose my mind. I think that's why I got so much gray hair now.
I'm stressed and depressed. This shit's crazy.
God, please watch over all the families in the world that are struggling right now. all the mothers, all the fathers, just all the people that are struggling, period, and are going through such hard times. All I want to do is be able to afford to take care of my family.
I'm going through a lot of medical things right now. I have no money, broke as hell, and they want to kick me out, too, because I don't have enough.
I just want my kids to be okay and have a roof over their head. Is that too much to ask for? I can't buy myself new clothes, no underweares, no nice perfumes, hair products, face products, makeup, nothing.
I just hope that eventually things can be stable because this is too much.
In the name of the father, of the son of the holy spirit. Amen. I pray for the world. I rebuke all the badness. Lord, please help me. Please, please, please, please.
