So dear students and parents, welcome to Dr. TCS Career Guidance.
Students and parents uh GD Goenka University in Amul. Okay, GD Goenka University in the 20 program low child important program and what are students and cheap parents and check for demand in the 20 program. And they can run on the road below come to placement this little bit going students low parents low come to and on the road below gravity come to 100% placement check 20 courses and on the road below gravity When you get it going to offer just a 20 aerospace space engineering with CPL matter to pilot training program and over 20. That we going to tell school them and opportunities allow them to enter school them and you can see you know GD Goenka University to run over the journey. So when I went to adjust the market Professor Dr. Google Google going to run over so sorry to see so director Department of International Affairs and even the head of the department aerospace engineering and water What are they ready to get off of this courses with a lot of and even get students get 20 opportunities in May and regarding CPL program matter aerospace engineering with CPL program like to be good at when you specialize to get on the road below gravity down to bottom when you get PG program and what are you going to mechanical BTech I went to the water channel and the students get and you are on the road below gravity but you got you are at the mechanical and aerospace engineering low BTech I went to the water and the monthly PG program program and you got off of this matter and then you get the water low admission procedure and then you get to school them and water So welcome sir. Hey welcome. Thank you for having me here.
So we are I'm from Hyderabad. So myself Dr. TCS Career Guidance channel we are coming sir.
So what is a different from the other universities? So we got you are offering some courses here. What are those courses?
So briefly explain sir.
Yes so um uh we have some certain niche courses that we offer in our center for aerospace and energy studies.
Uh of course our flagship program is BTech in aerospace engineering. Okay. As you are well aware, there's a huge demand for aerospace engineers with the increase of aerospace engineering related um ship companies, organizations, projects all across the world.
And as it becomes a new very important sector, the global economy for aerospace engineering is expected to reach $1 trillion by 2030.
Hence uh especially in India, we see that there is a uh big demand to fill up that need. There's a big uh availability of young very smart uh students who can fill up that need not just for India but for the rest of the world. So our flagship program BTech Aerospace Engineering is a four-year program. Okay sir.
Uh the first two years are common but for all the students in aerospace engineering.
>> Okay. However, in their third year, we ask them to specialize. Okay. We give them four specializations.
These specializations are aeronautics for those who want to become aeronautical engineers more related to airplanes, helicopters, weather balloons, UAVs, anything that flies in the atmosphere.
The second option is astronautics. Okay.
This specialization deals with space technology, satellites, rockets, space stations, moon and Mars missions, everything that relates to space.
The third specialization we offer is avionics. Avionics relates to electronic systems of aircraft as well as spacecraft.
>> Okay sir.
>> Such as radars, communication systems, all the electronic control systems.
>> Okay. And the last and fourth final specialization that we offer is defense technologies. Okay.
>> So anything related to aerospace defense tech- technologies is in this fourth specialization. So in the third year, in the beginning of the third year, we ask the students to choose a one of these four specializations.
>> Okay. And in their third and fourth year, they get courses related to their specialization. So when they um graduate, they get to graduate as BTech Aerospace Engineers but we also give them a certificate in the area of specialization >> Okay.
>> to show them that they have specialized and become an expert in this particular uh specialization as well. And one uh final thing which is important for our BTech Aerospace Engineering program, uh students in their final year have to spend six months abroad. It's a mandatory requirement of the course.
Okay. They have to go either for student mobility to one of our partner universities to study aerospace engineering Okay. or they can go to our partner research labs in France, Italy, Germany, UK and many other countries Okay.
>> an internship. Internships okay. for six months in their final year. So this is for the general aerospace engineering program. Okay. However, we do have a fifth specialization for those who want to become a pilot. Pilot. This is called pathway to pilot program.
>> Okay. If they are in aerospace engineering program and if they choose to become a pilot, in their fourth year, Okay.
>> we send them to our flight school partner in Florida, USA Okay.
>> where they would get their FAA CPL which is commercial pilot license, where they would get their uh training license, where they would get their twin engine uh certification. And as soon as they finish their one year of flight school, they get both the degree of GD Goenka Aerospace Engineering >> Okay.
>> plus they also get their CPL license.
And uh something very interesting about that program, as soon as they graduate, we have paid internships available to the students. Okay. Paid internships.
They start getting paid from day one Okay.
>> until they get their uh dream job at any of the airlines in the world. So it's a good program. Uh it's only for those who want to become a pilot then we have a pathway to pilot program. Otherwise, they can continue four years, spend six months abroad and become aerospace engineers. So normally in every university, they will only conduct the either aerospace engineering or only they will train the pilots.
Here, why you are combined these two sir?
Because there was a demand from the aviation sector. Uh they are now requiring pilots but they're also requiring engineers Okay.
>> who can understand how an airplane is built, how an airplane flies, what are the technical requirements and the knowledge for aviation sector.
Therefore, there was a big demand from the industry, from the airlines themselves that we want pilots but eventually we want these pilots to become engineers Okay.
>> so that they can also in the future take more executive roles within the airlines.
So what is the eligibility criteria sir for admission into this program?
For BTech Aerospace Engineering program, >> Yes. regardless of what specialization they choose because we don't ask them to choose till their third year.
>> Yes yes.
>> Even if they want to become pilot, they don't have to say up front.
>> Okay. Uh they do need to have high grades in mathematics, physics and chemistry.
>> Chemistry. Because basically in aerospace engineering, we see that the the uh almost all the course curriculum depends a lot of physics and mathematics. If the students don't have a good uh grade point average uh or good percentages in their board exams, we see that it's very difficult for them to cope up with the difficulty of the courses. And the second thing, they must have a lot of passion and motivation to make things, to tinker with things, to uh think about concepts because we are looking for open-minded students who can also learn how to design, how to change a design, how to make it more efficient.
So we want them to be also very clear thinkers as well. But here, once they join, of course we teach them how to be innovative in their thinking. We teach them how to be creative in their thinking. We teach them how to use their thinking to take a system and make it into something better.
So is there any MOUs and is there any technical uh improvement programs for this GD Goenka University especially in with aerospace engineering? Yes, for our aerospace engineering program, we have a lot of uh partners that we have signed up with.
Uh we we uh work with multiple aviation companies who have supported us for our program. We are also working with multiple aerospace companies in India as well as abroad as well as research laboratories in Europe to make sure that we create a good biosphere for all of our aerospace engineering students for their internships as well as their research.
If if any student, they don't want to do BTech in aerospace engineering but he want to have pilot, is there any other program sir? Yes. Uh obviously, as I said, aerospace engineering is a very difficult program.
Mhm. It's not for every student.
>> Yes yes. It's very rigorous and we we tell them up front. If you're going to become an aerospace engineer, for four years, you must not eat, you must not sleep, you must devote all your time to become an engineer. Okay. But there are some students who only want to become a pilot.
>> Pilot. So for that, we have a BSc Aviation program Okay. with uh commercial pilot license.
Uh from 2030 onwards, uh especially on the international arena, it's becoming mandatory for all future pilots to have a relevant undergrad degree. Okay okay.
>> So uh unfortunately in India, as we know, uh many students from high school onwards don't take a university degree and become a pilot by taking a CPL training. However, we have seen that this does not work because uh these students, though they get their CPL, they won't be able to fly to any international destination >> Okay.
>> from 2030 onwards.
To find a solution to this problem, we created a joint program called BSc Aviation with uh commercial pilot license with CPL where students get a three-year undergrad degree and learn piloting at the same time.
We have teamed up with Redbird Aviation to make this possible. And this is the only program in India where you earn your academic degree and earn your pilot license at the same time. Okay. From semesters two onwards, all the students will study for three months and they will go for their training for three months all across India. Okay.
>> We have different uh airfields that we can use in different locations of India depending on the weather.
So usually from January to end of March they do their pilot training and then from April to June they again do their academic training. Then they take a short break and again they go for 3 months of pilot training, come back for academic training. Okay. So at the end of their 3 years they get their undergraduate degree plus they also get their CPL to become the next pilot of not only in India but across for the whole world.
Sir, what are the placement package we are getting in this program, sir? Both in B.Tech with CPL and BSc Aviation.
So B.Tech aerospace engineering with pathway to pilot program in their final year. If they go then once they finish the program successfully along with the internship they're offered packages starting around 6,000 to 7,000 euros per month. Oh. Which is a very very good package, much higher than Higher than software engineer. Much much much higher than software engineer.
If they choose the BSc Aviation with CPL first we start them in India though the top students they can also be eligible for European airlines that we have partnered up with. So again in this particular system they can start anywhere between 4 lakhs per month and upwards depending upon their skill and depending upon the airline that they work for. So it's it's a good opportunity for This is per month it's a good good payment for all the students. Once they finish their junior first officer phase and once they become more senior pilots they can easily get 7 to 9 lakhs per month. Okay.
Once they reach that level so it's a good opportunity for those who want to become a pilot and want to fly across the world. Yes, sir.
Actually our South Indian people they mostly like the computer science engineering, sir, because of this packages and placements.
So in future there are is there any more opportunities for this pilots and all those things, sir? Is there any developments in throughout the worldwide?
I mean to tell you the truth for example I have also been working with artificial intelligence for more than 30 plus years.
I see that there's a big saturation when it comes to computer engineers across the world. It is so many engineers so many computer engineers are graduating from not only in India but all across the world.
>> across the world. So if there's a demand for let's say 1 million engineers across the world maybe 20 million engineers are graduating across the world every year.
Therefore I don't feel that especially in the next 10 years computer engineers will have that much scope unless they're at the top of their class.
Whereas aerospace engineering and pilot is a very fast growing sector.
India's becoming world's second largest aviation market right now.
So both for engineers who design the airplanes as well as for pilots who fly the airplanes I see a lot of scope of work in India as well as in abroad. Sir, regarding a PG courses so who are eligible for this PG courses and what are the opportunities for this PG courses, sir?
So we have two PG courses in the realm of aerospace engineering.
One is M.Tech Aerospace Engineering.
This comes with specialization in aeronautics as well as with space technology. So we offer two specializations. Aeronautics more focuses on drone technology and UAVs.
So to be eligible for that you can come from B.Tech Aerospace Engineering, you can come from B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, you can join from B.Tech Electronics Engineering.
Therefore you need to have a good B.Tech background with physics, mathematics. We do prefer mechanical engineers and aerospace engineers.
The second option we offer in our aerospace department is M.Tech in CFD.
CFD means computational fluid dynamics.
This is a special scope where you can test anything in an aerodynamics environment using computer simulation.
Because you know when you're designing a new car or when you're designing a new airplane or when you're designing a new vehicle it's very hard to do a real life testing in real life wind tunnels. So CFD allows you to approximate what would happen, how you can design it, how you can make it better.
In fact it's a very popular topic in India.
Many of the automotive companies like Volvo, Maruti, Tata, Renault Citroen and many others actually are looking for really good CFD engineers as well as companies like Boeing Airbus or even companies that provide special appliances need good CFD engineers to help design things. Design products using this. Therefore we have those both specializations. They can come either for M.Tech Aerospace Engineering or M.Tech CFD Engineering.
It is a 2-year program both of them. 1 year is theoretical study and the second year is complete internship giving them an opportunity to get hands-on experience and start working and start earning right away. So what are the placement opportunities for them?
So as I said for M.Tech Aerospace they can go to companies like Boeing, Airbus.
There are about over 264 companies in India that provide OEM original equipment manufacturing to aerospace companies in India as well as abroad. All of these companies they can go to plus this 1-year internship we can also send them abroad. We have the ability to send them abroad. So if they go abroad they can also stay back in France, Italy, Germany and continue working there. For M.Tech CFD again any company that makes cars, any company that makes planes, any company that makes appliances, any company that makes systems is a good opportunity for CFD engineers. So they have a huge scope not only in India across the world and they are also paid very well because the whole world is looking for good CFD engineers. Sir, I heard that you are offering a B.Tech Energy Engineering.
So what is the energy engineering? What is the curriculum and and why you started this energy engineering sector, sir? In B.Tech level.
So when we look at the future of technology in the world we see that there are three fields which are going to dominate the world when it comes to technology. One is aerospace. The second one is energy because nothing works without energy as you know. And third is AI which we see is booming all across the world. So under center for aerospace and energy studies we also started our B.Tech Energy Engineering program.
Because there's a huge demand for engineers that create renewable energy power plants including solar, including wind, including tidal power.
Plus there's also a big demand for increasing nuclear energy as we know not only in India but all across the world.
Okay, sir. So B.Tech Energy Systems is a specialized course. B.Tech Energy Engineering is a specialized course.
Again similar to aerospace engineering first 2 years are common for all energy engineers. In the third year we ask them to specialize either in renewable energy technologies or nuclear energy technologies.
Depending upon their specialization in the last 2 years they study only nuclear or renewable energy and very important thing about this program fourth year is completely an internship program where they can do their internships in India as well as abroad as there's a huge demand.
Or we have also teamed up with some universities in France where they can study and also get a second degree as well depending upon their choices.
However for the job prospects many of the for example India many of the Indian companies are now turning into renewable energy. Just the other day I was talking with the CEO of the Jindal company. They have opened a new renewable energy company and he said the demand in India to renewable energy is going to become 90% of the energy sector. Okay.
Therefore there's a huge demand for energy engineers but unfortunately there are not enough universities that create this particular very niche type of engineering. So we decided to also provide students the opportunity because as I've said in the beginning of the interview nothing works without energy.
All the industry, all the homes depend on energy and especially in India as well as the world there's a growing demand because of the growing population. So because of global warming concepts there's a more turn toward renewable energy and global energy and traditional energy sources like coal are coming down drastically. So we expect good energy engineers who can help choose and make these systems so that both India as well as the world can have abundance of energy in multiple sectors. When it was started, sir? This year we are starting? This year we are taking our first batch.
>> Okay.
Thank you. Thank you very much, sir. In busy time also you have given me time.
Yes.
>> So thank you very much for your valuable time, sir. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you, sir.
>> Thank you. Students and parents They tell clearly about that.
