Come walk with me down to Winifred Beach - Portland 🇯🇲🇯🇲❤️❤️Added:
So, jump on a robot taxi.
Drove past Frenchman.
Drove past Frenchman.
But I don't think we can afford Frenchman right now.
Drove past Sansan, even though it's a so-called private beach and we're not allowed in.
And I ended up at Winnifred.
So, the robot taxi dropped us off outside the um the main road gate there.
And we're walking down to the beach.
Even though the sun's scorching hot.
Hot, let me tell you.
The breeze that's coming off of the ocean right now kind of balance things out.
But I don't mind it, you know. We always do this sometimes when we're coming here.
We just take a robot taxi and then walk the rest of the way down.
I enjoy looking at these houses, you know, saying hi to the folks and all that good stuff. I love the local um community and engaging in you know, what's going on in and around our communities.
So, yeah, come with us. We're going down to French to I mean, we're going down to Winnifred Beach today.
Yay.
We have a few houses on this trip that's um If you look on this side, see? This side is not developed. Not saying that people don't own the land because I've been seeing these signs from I've been coming down on the avenue.
It says private property, no tres no no trespassing. That means people buy it up. Somebody buy it. Some developer bought that.
Because this is the third sign that I saw coming down on this side, right?
But then you have houses like these that are abandoned.
Mhm. Look how beautiful.
Look how beautiful.
Don't know who own them.
Don't know if they're ever coming back for them.
And um I think this is another one, too.
Yeah.
So, you have that one.
And you have this one.
Yeah.
And they're abundant. And we don't know information like that. I don't know where to go find information like that, but not that I'm looking to buy a house, but I'm just putting it out there.
You know?
Yeah.
If you notice going down, there's no shade, really.
Until we get to this corner.
Look like Obi want to take the shortcut.
I don't like that shortcut.
I really don't like that shortcut.
Change your mind.
No, I'm not walking there.
Not walking there at all.
Huh?
Oh, you was looking for mangoes?
None? Or you not spend the time to look?
Yeah.
Mango tree have some mangoes on it.
Still blossoming, too.
Then you have a few young ones on the ground.
Yeah, mango coming in now, you know?
Give it another month or so, or less.
Yeah.
You get fully loaded mango tree.
Yeah, so these dogs I don't know about that one.
And you know I'm scared of dogs, right?
I love them, but for some reason, unless it's my dog.
And being in the vicinity of so much dogs, oh my god. But these two, as soon as you come out of the taxi, it is like their house is right up um at the beginning of the road. They jump out, and it's it's like they're the soldiers.
They're the ones that um escort you down to the beach. For real, anytime I come they always do that.
If it's not two of them, one of them. But they always want to escort.
Anyway, that is where up there that is where the um the housing scheme ends for now.
Don't know what's going on with these properties, if they're going to be developed on this side.
Don't know if the people them that put up the sign up that way says that says no trespassing if they own down here so too.
So, I guess it's something that is coming, so we will know.
But yeah, still enjoying enjoying my walk down to to Winnifred Beach.
Hey soldier.
I think I want some water though.
Yeah.
I need water, I'm thirsty.
Well, look. Yeah.
Private property, no trespassing, no dumping.
So, I guess somebody bought out the entirety over up on that side there. When I tell you, that's a lot of property.
That's a lot of property. Don't know who own it.
But congratulations.
Yeah.
Hey guys, that's not me, that's a dog.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah.
And then over here now, that road I just saw a vehicle went over there.
I guess that leads back over to um the Fury Hill housing Yeah.
And it seems as if all of them beside it is being cleared out, too.
Look.
Yeah.
They're chopping down trees and all of that stuff.
This is where you guys are going to stop or you're you're turning back here? Are you coming all the way down to the beach?
No?
Oh, maybe because I stopped, you stopped.
All right, let's see.
All right, guys, we're coming down to the beach right now.
You can see the little shops and restaurants down on the beach.
And this is one of the best, if not the best, um public beach here.
You know, well-kept.
The only thing they ask is that at the gate, where you're coming down to now, especially if you're driving, you know, you give a donation because those donations help to keep the beach clean, also to contribute to the running water and the facilities that are, you know, the bathroom facilities and so forth.
So, yeah.
So, yeah.
Welcome to Winnifred.
Hello. Hello.
All right. Thank you. Yeah, man.
Yeah, you know.
So, when you come down here, you have you know, food available, drinks, you have your bar, you have your restaurant.
I thought I was coming All the way up here.
Yeah.
I I guess quite a few of us are on spot today.
We go over this side now. We go over this side now.
We have a swing.
We have sea eggs. We haven't seen sea eggs in so long.
And look at the water.
Look at the water.
Beautiful.
So, this is where I'm going to spend most of my night.
Oh, when I get to up here, I must [music] enjoy myself so much I forgot to vlog the rest of the um the um the stay today. But, hey, I'm leaving. I'm leaving Winnifred.
Yeah.
I'm surprised that on Wednesday [music] it gets so busy.
Come on.
>> [music] [music] >> That's why you like that. 25 4 5 Yeah, man. This was a lovely day.
Yeah.
Unfortunately, I have to leave and go home, but I will be back.
Not that I don't love my home.
You know, we're going to walk walk up the hill to go back up to get a taxi.
But, this will be the shortcut. My husband is not the game to do the shortcut today.
Is that so, honey?
You say, "Yeah, man. No shortcut."
So, I am forced to go up that hill.
Yeah.
But, that's all right.
It is good for me. I just had some jerk chicken.
I had some roast breadfruit.
>> [music] >> And all of that.
So the walk will be good.
Come on.
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah, so we're on top of the hill now.
So we're heading out to the the main road to go get a robot taxi to head back home.
I was just recording a video coming up the hill.
But that's all right.
Yeah, but we feel good.
Feel good, man. And I'm glad that we were able to do this today.
And and on a Wednesday, too. I thought that the beach was going to be more, you know, empty, but quite a few people were there.
It was a nice chill vibe, you know.
Yeah, these are the things that Portland has to offer. Portland doesn't If you're looking for a nightlife and all of that stuff, East Portland now very laid-back.
You know, beaches and leisure days.
And believe me, sometimes yes, I get bored, but I rather these days more than anything.
For real.
So yeah, I'm going to um sign off now.
Tell me what time we got.
Yeah.
And um try to get a taxi.
Who knows, I might end up in Boston for Boston Beach, not to swim, but to get some food and take back home.
Cuz I don't think I'm going to cook.
Yeah.
So until next time, peeps.
One love.
