The 2A Victory They Don’t Want You to See: Black Teen Wins Concealed Carry Case in Florida

[00:00:00]Here's an interesting story, pro-gun Second Amendment story you've never heard about. There was a 20-year-old named Jaylen Tyris Eubanks. Approached in what he believed was a threatening manner by two men in a car.

[00:00:14]He thought they might try to hit him with his vehicle, so he brandished to warn them and protect himself. And I can't even really call it brandishing cuz brandishing, little quick lesson guys, brandishing kind of implies that you're just trying to be threatening as opposed to hey, I'm armed, step back, right? There's a difference between brandishing to threaten people and scare them to do bad [ __ ] or presenting your firearm, getting it from concealment, clearing your garment, and even presenting and issuing commands. [00:00:44]Anyway, he thought they might try to hit him with his vehicle, so he present the firearm to ward them off and then protect himself. Later on, he get arrested under Florida's law which bans concealed carry for adults under 21 years old. Republican-led Florida, that happened. Nonetheless, his defense team argued that the restriction was unconstitutional cuz it treated 18- to 20-year-olds differently from other legal adults under the Second Amendment. Sidebar again, the militia age is 17. So, the Fourth District Court of Appeals of Florida agreed, struck down the age restriction, and vacated his conviction.

[00:01:21]Florida's Attorney General chose not to defend the law further, so this ruling now is applied statewide, all across Florida. Not only did this young dude successfully protect himself, but this court decision now empowers potentially millions of young adults across Florida with their constitutional right to carry. Stories like this do not go viral. They just don't because it pushes back against the anti-gunners narratives. It is very rarely highlighted that a black man, specifically, men in general, but black men specifically exercising and defending their rights or the significant impact of this type of engagement, very rarely do that type of [ __ ] get highlighted. Instead, what they try to do is package everybody black as the victim. Everybody black as the criminal. Or you better be in the military or law enforcement. And that's the reason why on this channel at least, I don't know about anybody else, but on this channel you are consistently going to get here these types of stories.
