I Ignored It Too Long - But Hey! I Still have Yarn!Hinzugefügt:
Hi everybody. I hope everybody's doing well today. Um, so I I have not posted a video in a bit. Um, I did post a tutorial a couple weeks ago. Um, I do believe, but it it was for a buck ahead.
It was a tutorial that I um had made when before my solid uh bag o day yarn was released. Um, so I had made it quite a while ago and I just just released it.
So it didn't do good. Anyways, I thought it was pretty. Um, and then before that, I don't I haven't talked to you like this in I think uh probably over three weeks, maybe something like that. Yeah. So, not much has been going on um really as I do have a little bit of yarn that I got that I'll show you. I have been hand dying yarn quite a bit. Um the last thing that I crocheted was um and I'll tell you why that is. Um and I my last video that I spoke to you um like this like I don't know, going on three weeks ago, I think it was a couple videos ago. It been about three weeks. Um, I had showed you some yarn, cotton yarn, Egyptian cotton yarn. I don't know if you remember, if you even watched it, but it was some Egyptian cotton yarn that I purchased and um it was called Nile Yarns and I said that, you know, it was a nice yarn, but I thought it was a little overpriced.
But anyways, I got a hank of um red, black, white, and yellow. I don't know if you remember my main man over there, Freddy Mercury. That's his signature colors. And I said I was going to make a bucket hat out of it. Well, I did do that shortly after that video. Um, and that was the last thing that I made. Um Um, I had mentioned that I had um like gay I don't want to gross anybody out, but I had like a bump on my palm, right?
And then I was going to be going to the doctor on the uh 19th. I mentioned in that video to have a look at and well actually I have to go to the doctor every six months uh for something else.
Um so while I was there I I did show her and yes um it's unfortunate for me. I find it very disheartening. That's probably why you have not seen much of me lately.
Um, I seen her and and and another doctor as well. Um, I can't crochet anymore.
Um, unless I want to have surgery for it and it's not just Okay, so I'm just going to tell you real quick.
So, a lot of I I told you guys what it was and a lot of you guessed it. I can't pronounce it. It starts with a du a d u p u y t r e n contraure or something. Well, I said that I didn't know what it was, but you know, she knew right away. Well, she also felt three more on my hand that underneath that I didn't know were there. And it affects these two fingers um so much that it keeps me up at night.
and they're starting to bend inward. But not only that, um I have something else uh called cubital cubital tunnel syndrome which is in this elbow. So like the nerves like your funny bone nerve or whatever something it's I don't know which one.
um messed up somehow and they they are not related. It's just unfortunate that they are both do you know can be caused from a repetitive motion or constant pre I know the elbow one can be caused by constant pressure and I know why I know I am a right-handed crocheter and this affects my my left hand and my left elbow is because the way that I crochet I put a lot of pressure and I control my tension which I control extremely tight and it just affected it for so long. Um, I started feeling it in my little bitty finger 10 years ago.
I didn't think much of it. I even went to the doctor and they said it wasn't anything. And I gradually progressed, progressed, progressed. Anyways, they told me that I needed to just and and not do what is causing it to um hurt the most, which is crochet. Um it's still does bother me at night especially. That's the worst. It's unbearable to have I think something that you keeps you up like that. But um you know I might want to be able to resume my you know you know they they gave me they said I could like have cortisone shots in my hand and whatnot but that was temporary solutions and it would never get better. It's a uh a disease that that doesn't go away.
Um, so I'm trying to weigh my options on that because I'm really really scared of that. I don't want to do that.
They want to cut a 4 inch in.
They want to cut my elbow open in 4 in.
And then they want to mess with my hand my hands and skin graft and and weird stuff, but I don't want to do any of that. I don't I know it's it's mild it's mild compared to what some people uh go through. I understand that. It's it's nothing when I think about that.
But to me, it's scary. I never had anything like that done. I've never had any type of surgery at all. I well don't want anybody to cut on me, but crochet is has I mean that's my life. That's that's my livelihood. Crochet is how I make a living. Um I make a living lots of ways. Um me in general myself make a living lots of ways and all of them all of them except for one yarn dying has to do with me crocheting. Um I mean yarn dying I guess is involved in the process of now yarn dying it does hurt my hands but nothing like crochet. So I find it tolerable at the moment even though they told me that that's going to make it worse. I'm going to do it anyways because I, you know, I make a living doing yarn dying and and um um crochet things and just, you know, things in general. You know, that's what I do. I built up something. It took me so long to do it and I just dropped that new yarn line. I I can't not do it, but it's This is scary.
But enough of that. So, while I ponder the pros and cons of that one, you will see new tutorials. Well, you will see Yeah, you'll see new tutorials from me, but just know they're not new.
They're tutorials that I have made um either years ago or maybe months ago um before I went to the doctor and they told me not to do it again. Um, I do think I made it worse myself when I decided to I was going to crochet with thread again.
I think that me in, but I I wouldn't change it. I'd do it over again.
Yeah, I would.
I made a lot of pretty things out of thread in those those months that I did it. So, anyways, I just been kind of dying yarn and whatnot, but I got some yarn to show you. And I'm still going to make YouTube videos. Like I said, I have I have a lot of tutorials that I've made and they're uploaded to YouTube. I just, you know, some of them are from years ago. Some of them are just from months ago and anytime in between. So, if you see any of them, I'll release them, you know, time from time to time just to know they were made. Um, I'm not I I won't use my my end for crochet.
Scouts honor. I wasn't a scout or anything, but I wasn't one. But scouts honor her. I won't I won't do it. Um, I guess I'll make videos though because, you know, I was thinking about um how I how bad I felt really bad about it. I was really down in the dumps and then I'm like, you know, I used to make videos all the time showing yarn. That one's a lot of fun. Maybe people would still be interested in that, you know, and doing yarn reviews and stuff.
I can't really do yarn reviews because I can't crochet with it, but I can talk about the new yarns, I guess, and show you the new yarns if that'd be something that you'd like. If not, um, I'll just start yarn until, like I said, I weigh my pros and cons. It just sucks because, like I said, my new yarn has come out and I can't do nothing. I can't make nothing new with it. Just stuff I have is what I have now. Mary Maxim don't know that. They probably know now because they're watching the video.
Sorry, Mary Maxim didn't keep you up to date, but it is what it is. Can't do it.
So, I got some yarn from um Little Knits. Um I think it might have been a couple weeks ago, maybe a week or two ago, they had Now, I won't be able to use any of this yarn. I just like to look at it.
So, all the yarn. If I do show yarn and stuff, just know that it'll end up in mystery boxes or something or discounted or something. But, I just like to get it and look at it. I got this yarn from I can never pronounce it. Uh, Shop. I think that's right. Chop. I think it's a German company. Is that correct?
Um, Little Nits was having a and I love Little Nits. They were having a sale on their on this brand, so I got a little bit of it. Um, this is their I'm never going to be able to pronounce any of it.
This is their uh Zhabber Flower Pro. Um, aren't those blues pretty? So, as you can see, it's just a one ply roing style. Um, it appears to be about a nice two weight. I think it's really pretty.
It's 150 grams. I do believe they still have quite a few of this stuff left.
the pies to, you know, as roving is, it does appear to be a bit uneven. It looks like it can go from a one to a two, but it's very pretty and it's very soft and it is written in um German. I think it's 100% wool of 450 g, 600 meters, so about 660 yards there.
Isn't that one pretty? And then I got another one in another color. I was thinking at the time, um, no, I did get this before I went to the doctor and I was thinking at the time that my daughter would really like something made out of that. Now I'm thinking that maybe I'll save it for her.
But that's the same. That's pretty, isn't it? I think it's I think it's really pretty.
Smells like wool. I love the smell of wool. Um, and then I got this one. These are all made by the same company. I got cardboard on it. This one is really lightweight. Uhhuh. This one is called laced flower. So, it's a lace weight. But I love those pretty pretty greens and the bit of brown in it. Isn't that pretty? I think that's a pretty cake of yarn.
And let's see what So, um, you know, it's going to be a lace weight 100% wool. It's a very soft wool though, both of in this one and this one. And we got 100 and gram cake, 1200 meters. So, got quite a bit of yardage there. That make a full bone shaw, I think, almost.
I don't know about a lace weight, you know. I don't use a lace weight.
a long long time. Actually, I did use one uh before I went to the doctor. It wasn't easy either, but uh yeah, I think that would make a nice pretty shaw. I do. But those are my colors.
Very pretty. I like that one. Um then I got this one right here, which is 100 g ball. And it's called their I can't pronounce it. Zerball 100 Pro.
Sorry, I didn't say that right, did I?
Zer ball. I don't know if that's correct.
Um, and it is 100% 400 meters. Again, it's a roving style and it's probably a two weight. So, I did get those. These are the same color.
They're just wound different directions.
So, this is what's on the inside of this one. And this is on the inside of this one. I thought that one was really pretty.
Um, yeah.
And then I got one more.
I love the color of it. It's very pretty. It's very uh springy. It reminds me of a dandelion. I think it does.
Oh, it's not open.
It's not even open yet.
Oh, that's so pretty. Look at that.
I'm sorry, I have allergies today. Um, this is called Lace Ball 100.
Sorry, I have dye on my hands from dying yarn. Um, this is a lace weight of course and it's 800 meters, so about 880 yards and it's 100 grams.
So lightweight. So these are the same, you know, they're just wound different directions. I really, really like that one. I wish that I could use it.
I think that would make like a really pretty uh showlet or something like that.
It's so thin.
But it does remind me a lot. I don't know why. Of a of a dandelion. I know dandelions don't have no black in them, but it kind of just does. The way it looks smells like wool. So that's all I got from that shop. I probably into the right sale from Little Knits. Um, and I don't have any other yarn to show you either. And I have no finished projects to show you. I only have that hat that I made, the last thing I made, and then um yarn that I dyed.
So, that's it. I guess it's kind of a boring video. just keep you up to date that I'll drop tutorials from time to time just though I'm not using my hand until I um I am going to see another doctor though as well so you know doesn't hurt to have third opinion I don't think um and then yeah if you guys know any of these two things that I'm talking about. Can you let me know in the comments? Um, it's gotten to the point that it's a little bit above moderate to severe.
Um, it's to the point they said, you know, don't do it anymore until you have surgery.
but and I won't. So, but if you guys know anything about either of those two, I'd really like to know.
See the surgery on both of them.
The elbow one be out like 12 weeks. And that's okay though cuz I'm on now anyways. So, I'm going to go um I think I want to maybe I say I would buy some yarn and show you guys, but I buy yarn and then I but I can't use it. So, I um I might buy some from from Ice. I haven't bought from Ice in a bit. Or the Wool Warehouse. I think maybe they have some new yarn. You know, I do like to buy yarn just to look at it and pla, you know, I love Stinley.
Um, yeah, I like to buy it and just look at it like like these. They're really pretty. You know, I can't keep them, but they're beautiful and I'm glad that I got to feel them and touch them. So I always keep them for another day, you know, and another day and that I can't use them. All right. I don't know what my next video will be, but I don't know if it'll be a tutorial that I have in Q or more yarn or something.
You know, I haven't to went yarn shopping in a while, have I? I I don't really like to go places, but I did hear my Walmart got new different yarns. And I haven't been to my Walmart in a very long time, so let's hope they did. Maybe or Michaels or something. That's quite a chuck for me. I'm not going to Hobby Lobby. I know they're having their sale.
I'm not going there. I don't want to.
It's not worth the backlash for me to go to Hobby Lobby. It's okay for some people, but it's not okay for me to go there. I learned that a long time ago.
Um I don't want to anyways.
And yeah, no more Jo-Ann's either. I guess this is Michaels or Walmart.
Yeah, maybe we'll hit one of those up one time.
Bye, guys.
