Successful reselling requires selecting the right platform (eBay showed the most consistent sales for this reseller), optimizing listings with buyer-focused keywords rather than just item details, and sourcing regionally relevant items from local consignment stores and clearance sales.

I Had a Great Sales Week Thanks to These Three Reselling Tips!Added:
I don't even know how this happened, but I am super behind on my what sold videos again. But thankfully, I'm really excited to share with you the things that sold in this particular week of sales, which are from like a month ago, cuz it was a pretty good week. And if you remember from my last what sold video, I talked a lot about items that sold really fast. And there were a few sales like that this particular week of sales as well. So, let's get into it.
Hi everyone, my name is Becky Park. I am a part-time reseller and I am counting down the days for when school is over for the year. I think our last day is like May 28th or something like that.
Like we're close. And my final concert of the year is in 4 days. And after that like I will really well after that and singing at graduation I will for real feel done. But up until then it's a crawl. So, I have however been able to invest a lot of time and energy into my reselling business. I am excited to invest even more time and energy into it. However, we will also be doing a lot of traveling during the summer because that's one of the very few perks of having a family with two teachers is that you get summer's off and you get to do a lot of traveling. So, we are going to Universal Studios. We're going to check out the new Epic Universe and we are going to also go visit my parents in Seattle. We've got a church retreat sprinkled in there. So, just very much looking forward to summer. Let me know down in the comments below. What are your summer plans? But we're going to take a trip back to the past.
>> See you in the future.
You mean the past.
>> Exactly.
>> Talk about some sales the week of April 13th through the 19th. I'm just going to tell you the trend of Poshmark just completely flatlining continued this week. I genuinely don't know what's up with Poshmark. I am still seeing even today a full basically almost month later. Poshmark is just not what it used to be. I used to be able to get at least one or two sales a day over there. And this week, spoiler alert, I had two sales on Poshmark in the entire week.
And that's not for lack of trying. It's not that I wasn't sending out offers.
It's not that I wasn't listing. I just was not selling stuff on Poshmark. And I have seen on, you know, Facebook and other places, it seems to be a trend.
So, I don't know. I don't really know what's going on over there, but thankfully eBay stepped up in a very big way. So, let's talk about my sales. The first day of sales that we're going to talk about is April 13th, which was a Monday. And on this day, I actually am going to talk about a whatnot sale that sold the week before first. I sold on whatnot this pair of new with tags. Jill women's extra-L large petite linen stretch cropped pants. They were black and slim fit and I put the word comfort in the listing title. I sold these the week before but like just kind of missed it in my bookkeeping. So that's why I'm talking about it in this week's sales.
This sold for a full asking price on whatnot. So if you didn't know on whatnot, you can actually do buy it now sales just like in their marketplace.
similar to if you were listing on eBay or Poshmark. You don't have to do live shows in order to sell items. And when I crosslist items from List Perfectly to all the different platforms that I sell on, I have started listing over on whatnot as well because it is one of the platforms that List Perfectly enables you to crosslist to. And I was like, why not, you know? So, I started crosslisting everything over there a couple months ago and have been shocked with the sales that I get. I don't get them super frequently, but enough like and like some decent sales. This was a $40 sale. Now, I had $5.13 into those and so my net profit was $29.87.
I had purchased them at a local consignment store during an 80% off clearance sale and they took a little over a month to sell. So, if you are wanting to add another platform to the mix, Whatnot may not be a bad option.
Whatnot is a platform that I've been investing into way more. I've been doing more live shows. Like I said, I have been listing to their marketplace. And some people ask, they'll say, I don't think you can list things by it now unless you've done a live show. Like whatnot wants you to kind of show up as a live seller before they allow you to sell things in the marketplace. But if you're like, I really don't want to do live selling. I think the way to get around it is you can set up a live show and then just like cancel it later. And I think even if you do that, you should be able to get access to start listing items to the marketplace as buy it now items. So, it's either like you cancel the show once you've listed it and maybe you kind of let it go for a while or you like edit it and then cancel. I don't know. But basically, you don't have to actually go live in order to sell things in their marketplace. You just have to make it look like you are going to go live. But that was a great sale. And the next sale actually did take place on this particular Monday and it was a whatnot sale. It was this pair of mousy high-waist skinny jeans in a women's size 27. They were blue and made of Japanese denim. And I did put words like casual and stretch in the listing title.
Those sold for $40 as well. I think I had them listed for 50. Someone sent me an offer on whatnot for $40. So again, just like eBay, just like Poshmark or Mccardi, people can send you offers or they can buy things outright. I think you don't really see if people like like items. I don't know that that's a feature in the marketplace. So, you know, it's it's a little bit harder to engage with people who might be engaging with your listings the way that you can on other platforms. But again, if people want to make offers, if they want to buy things outright, they totally can. So, someone sent me a $40 offer. I accepted.
I had $5 into these from the same consignment stores 80% off clearance sale. They took a little over a month to sell and my net profit was $29.99.
Those were both great sales. I was so happy about them. The Mousie jeans I was not super surprised by cuz it's a really great brand. It's a really expensive brand and they just use really high quality Japanese denim. So, I wasn't surprised. Even though they were skinny jeans, I was kind of like, eh, I don't know if this is going to sell because skinny jeans are just not a super popular style right now, but they still did sell fairly quickly and for a good amount. Now, the new tax Jill, that one I was shocked by. I was shocked that those sold for my full asking price on whatnot of all places, but not mad about it. Like, yes, please. More of that, please. Also, on the 13th, I had a sale on eBay. This was the brand Quint. After not finding it for like two or three years ever and seeing everyone online talk about selling Quint. And I was like, where is my Quint? I have finally started finding it, which probably means it's starting to fade in popularity cuz by the time things hit my town, that's when people are not as excited about it anymore. But it was this pair of super soft fleece cropped widelegg pants. They were, if I remember, like in a lighter gray color and they were in a women's size medium. I put the word comfort in the listing title that sold for $19.90.
That was an offer that I sent out to watchers and it was promoted at 3%. Oh, somebody's at our house. This family from our church. It's great cuz like they have a girl who's my daughter's age. They have actually they have two girls and they're close to my daughter in age. And then they have a son who is one year older than my son. So, they play together all the time and they live in our neighborhood. Like it's like a two-minute walk. Well, she stopped by to bring my daughter leftover Jimmy John's pesto pasta from youth group. So anyway, let me keep going. So those took a little over four months to sell. I had $3 into them and my net profit was $10.73.
So not a huge profit, but they sold fairly quickly. And I think Quint is still a brand that people are pretty excited about and do seek out. Moving on to Tuesday, which was April 14th. I had one sale on Poshmark. So, this was one of my two sales, and it was this Eileen Fischer women's plus-size 2X striped tencil cropped pants. They were navy. I put the word login look in the listing title because a lot of Eileen Fisher stuff, it's either very like minimalist or very Logan look, and this was honestly kind of both. These sold on Poshmark for $30. I believe that was an offer that I got from someone. I only had 39 cents into them because they were from an estate sale that I went to a year ago at this point. And the truth is I still have not listed everything from that estate sale. I'm close to having listed everything. It was just like I needed a break from listing all that stuff and I do have like a stack of pants still. And I think that's basically it. And then everything else from that estate sale I have listed. But these sold for 30 and my net profit was $23.61.
And the truth is I only listed those like 7 months ago. even though I'd had them since May, I just didn't get around to listing them till a little bit later.
So, yeah, I sold them in about 7 months and made a nice profit. Always looking to try to make $20 in profit or more, and I did meet that goal with this pair of pants. And then moving on to the 15th of April, which was a Wednesday, on eBay, I sold this Talbitz dotted butterflies poppplin black and white shirt dress in a women's plus-size 18.
This sold incredibly fast for $35.99.
That was a sale price. I had a 10% sale running at this time on eBay. And this just took 4 days to sell. I got it at that same consignment store during their 80% off clearance. And I had $7.80 into it. So again, I made more than $20 of net profit. I made $22.74 and was really, really happy about that.
And a lot of the sales that I've talked about so far are very mature mall brands. You know, it's Jill, it's Eileen Fiser, it's Talbitz. That's honestly kind of like my sweet spot. And the reason for that is because that is what I have the most access to. For me, the best places to source are the two local consignment stores in my town. I can go to Goodwill. We have two Goodwills in the area. We also have a different more like local thrift store. It's just that their prices are a lot higher and you have to do a lot more looking through the racks to find anything worth selling just because you know it's a lot of garbage that people have donated and that Goodwill still manages to mark up.
Whereas when you're shopping for clothing at consignment stores, the people who work at the consignment store have already done the work of making sure that for the most part items are free of flaws that they are, you know, a little bit more current and trending, but these consignment stores definitely do cater more to like a more mature woman. So I find brands like Jill and Talbitz and Chico's and White House Black Market so much. like that is my bread and butter because again that is what I have access to. For people who live like in Colorado or near the mountains like you're going to find a lot more kind of like cold weather gear and mountain gear and maybe more like Arcterics and Patagonia and Smartwool and things like that and that just isn't what you find as much of here. You find it every once in a while. So, one big tip I have when it comes to thrifting is, yeah, it's helpful and useful to watch YouTube videos like this and get a feel for what sells for people, but you also want to pay attention to what is happening regionally. You know, like is the person that you're watching from somewhere kind of in your area or do they live in a completely different part of the country where they just have more access to cowboy boots and western shirts and that's why that's what they sell all day long? Or do they live in Florida in a retired community where like all they find is like golf apparel and everything to do with golf, you know, like a lot of what you sell is going to depend on what is around you.
And for me, it is mature mall brands and I'm not mad about it. Like it's I'm fine with it. So that was a very great sale in my opinion. Also on the 15th on eBay, I sold this pair of Choco Odyssey women's mesh outdoor closed toe hiking sandals in a size nine. They were waterproof. Those sold on eBay. Oo, I did not write down how much they sold for. So hold on a second.
>> Three hours later, >> those sold on eBay for $28. That was an offer that I got on top of, you know, the sale that I was running at the time.
I went ahead and accepted because I'd had them for 8 months. So, you know, they took about 8 months to sell. I had 750 into them from a 75% off clearance sale at a local consignment store. They were promoted as well, and so my net profit was $14.78.
Not the $20 profit we were looking for, but also I'm okay with it. Also, on the 15th, I had my last Poshmark sale of the week, and it was this Free People white Wellington Bardau off-the-shoulder top in a women's size medium. I thought this was really cute. I got it from a local consignment store. The truth is, it took almost a year to sell, so this was not a quick flip, but it sold for $26. I only had $3 into it, and my net profit was $17.80.
Moving on to the 16th, which was a Thursday on eBay. Okay, this is not like an exciting sale by any means. It was this Fast and Furious Showdown PS3 complete game. I just put like other random words in the listing title just to use up all the characters. I put things like clean disc plus manual, all that kind of stuff. So, that I got with a bunch of other games from my neighbors before they moved. They invited basically my whole family over and they're like, "What do you want from our house?" Cuz they were downsizing quite a bit. They were an older couple. They moved to Texas to be closer to their son who had just had kids and they I think were building a new house, but it was like really really small compared to the house that they were living in. So they gave us like their grand piano, they gave us all these games, all this crafting equipment, like so much stuff.
Like my husband bought a riding mower from that. Like just it was like we benefited a lot from the fact that they were moving. They gave me a case, like a bin, a bin of PS3 and PS4 games. I've listed a handful of them. I honestly may just like throw them in a whatnot show because they're not hard to list. I just hate listing them and then they sell, you know, like this one sold for $6 and it took eight months to sell. So, like I don't know. They're not my favorite thing. We'll see. We'll see what I end up doing with them. Let me know what you would do. But I made a $34 profit off of that. So there you go. Maybe, you know, a small French fries from McDonald's.
Also on the 16th on eBay, I had another Talbit sale, another mature mall brand sale. This was in a women's size 20W, but it was a pair of straight leg chino pants in tan. They were classic neutral minimalist all words that I used as part of my listing title. And those came from that same estate sale that I went to last year. I did a big bulk buyout of all the clothes that didn't sell during the estate sale once it was over. And all of the items came out to a cost of goods of 39 cents per item. So, I'm saying I had 39 cents into that. It sold for $15 and those took under four months to sell. Again, some of these pants it just like took me forever to get around to listing them cuz I had to steam them first and I had to do all the stuff. But after 4 months of being listed, they sold for 15. That was an offer that I got in my net pocket was $1264.
Also on the 16th on eBay, I sold this pair of Anthropology Heihei. That's the brand. It was this pair of blue crushed velvet coulots in a women's size large.
Cools are just like cropped widelegg pants usually of like flowier fabric. I feel like back in the day we used to call them gauchos, but gauchos I guess tend to be like a much thinner fabric.
But these also had like a tassel at the waist. like that was the drawstring. So, those sold for $23.99 as part of my 20% off sale that I had running at the time.
They took less than one month to sell and after putting $3.60 into them from a local consignment store's 80% off sale, my net profit was $165.
And then the next day of sales that we'll talk about is the 17th, which was a Friday. And on eBay, I had this one sale that I was kind of nervous about, but I I think it's okay. So, it was this Francis Valentine, which I believe is a brand associated with Kate Spade, but it was this women's size medium Marlo boiled wool shift dress in a pink color with 3/4 sleeve. I honestly didn't know this brand. I didn't know Francis Valentine. I had never picked it up before. It just looked to be made of good quality. and the consignment store where I purchased it, they had it priced really high, which meant they knew that it was a good brand. So, when I looked up comps, I was like, "Oh, this is this is a good dress." The reason I was nervous about it is because there were a good amount of stains, like a good amount of flaws throughout the dress.
So, of course, I did what I normally do.
I photographed them. I noted them in the description, and I listed it lower than all of the other listings of this same dress, cuz there were a few listed. I don't remember how much I listed it for, but it sold for $59.99.
That was my 20% off sale. And it only took 15 days to sell. I did have $16 into it. And the truth is, I would not have spent $16 on this had I seen all the flaws. I did not see them in the store. I saw them when I got it home and started photographing it. But I went ahead and listed it and I still made a net profit of $3621, which I believe is my highest profiting sale of the week. So, you know, tip number two, I guess, if you will, I didn't know this was going to be a tips video, but tip number two would be list your flawed items because as long as you, you know, say what the flaws are, there are people out there that don't mind taking on projects and don't mind, you know, putting some work into items if they can get it for a little bit cheaper. So, I was saying I was nervous about it because I was worried that an, you know, like a return would be opened on that item, but so far so good. So, keeping my fingers crossed. Also, on the 17th on eBay, I sold another Talibits item. You guys, this was like the week of Talibits. It was this blue 100% linen military button-up jacket in a women's size medium. I did put the word nautical in the listing title as well. And, you know, like just learning how to fill your listing title with words that help describe the item. and not even like describe the item, but using words that other people might be using to find what it is that they're looking for. That is something that has been drilled into my head from a resource called Resellers Edge University. If you've never heard of Resellers Edge University, I know I talk about it a lot, but it's because I use it basically on a daily basis. It is a group of resellers and there are like brand new resellers in there as well as people who have been reselling for longer than I've been alive. That's not true. Probably not that long, but for a long time. And there are people who are making like $10 a week all the way up to people making like $10,000 a month. Like the range is huge. But it's really cool because I'm always learning a lot from people who have just started and they have really fresh and different ideas as to how to do things. And also something about like their enthusiasm and their like you know like ability to just like grind and hustle. Like there is something very inspiring and motivating to me about like being around those people but also about being around those that have a lot of experience under their belt. They've really kind of locked in their systems and they're very efficient and just that community has helped me grow a lot. But one of the things that they really really drive home is the importance of keywords and the importance of understanding the buyer and understanding how to craft listings in a way so that buyers can find them based on how they search for items when they are typing into the search bar. So I guess are we on tip number three now? Again, didn't know this was a tips video, but tip number three would be create listings that incorporate the kinds of words that people are looking for when they search into the search bar of a reselling platform. Most people, if they were looking for a jacket like this, they're not necessarily even looking for a Talbitz jacket. So, while I think it is still important to have the word Talbitz in the listing title, if I were to imagine what someone might type into the search bar if they were looking for this exact jacket, I think they would search words like linen military jacket or linen nautical blue jacket. And the hope is if they were to type those words in, this listing, my listing would pop up because I incorporated some of those words. I think a lot of times we fall into like formulas when it comes to listing titles and we'll include things like obviously the brand. We'll include things like what it's made out of when sometimes like it's made out of like polyester. So why are we putting that in the listing title? Nobody's out there looking for a polyester dress. And I don't know, sometimes we just get stuck on details that don't actually have to be put in listing titles for that item to be found in search and for that item to sell. And Resellers Edge University was definitely the resource that helped me kind of like shift the way I thought about crafting my listing titles. And that's just like one of the many things I've taken from Resellers Edge University. So, if you want just like more tips and tricks when it comes to reselling, if you want to be motivated by community, I mean, there's a lot going on there that is only going to be helpful. And if you want to check it out, I do have a link for it down in the description below. And with it, I believe you save 50% off your first month, something like that, something.
But this jacket did sell for $27.99.
It was part of a 20% off sale on eBay and it was promoted at 3%. It did take almost one year to sell, but I think that's because one, like sizes, extra small, small, medium for Talbits, they take a little bit longer to sell. And also, I do think that this style is not what Talbbits is known for, if that makes sense. But I'm glad that it did finally sell. And like I said, it sold for $27.99. And I had $649 into it from a Goodwill about an hour and a half away. And my net profit was $17.61.
Moving on to the 18th, which was a Saturday. And by the way, if you are enjoying the Sweet Soul video, if you feel like you're taking anything away from it, please consider hitting that like button because that does help my channel and this video get discovered by other people. And if you're brand new to this channel, I hope you consider subscribing as well. I do try to upload a video like this every single week, as well as other helpful videos that hopefully help you grow in your reselling business. But on April 18th, which was a Friday, honestly, the rest of these sales are eBay sales. So on eBay, I sold another Talitz item. It was in a women's size 12, and it was their perfect crop pants. They were like trousers, and they were in a yellow color. I put words like stretch and spring and career in the listing title.
Those sold for $13.99. They took about 5 months to sell and they sold as part of a 30% off sale. I got them at a birthday sale from my local consignment store in July. So, I had $1.95 into those and my net profit was $941.
I think I got those not on the day of the birthday sale, but like the following week when everything was like $10 to fill a bag. And so, I just filled my bag with lots of bread and butter just like Yeah. towel bits, jade gel, a lot of that kind of stuff because at that price at $1.95, that's basically Goodwill outlet price. I was like, "Yeah, I can do that." The next sale on eBay was this pair of Naturalizer. The brand was Thea 3. So, I guess there's a Thea 2 and a Thea 1. I don't know. But they were this metallic pair of shimmer gold leather slip-on espadrills in a women's size 7M. I got those at the same birthday sale, so I had $1.95 into them, and they sold for $15 as well. They took eight months to sell and they were promoted at 3%. So, my net profit on those was $8.81.
Those were interesting because I feel like I got a decent amount of attention on them, but they just wouldn't sell.
And when I got the $15 offer, I was like, "Yeah, let's go." Like, I just I just want to move these. I just want to be done with them. So, I probably could have held out and gotten a little bit more, but I was fine with what happened there. Another shoe sale on eBay. I sold this pair of KE. They were blue hiking sandals meant to be worn outdoors. I put athletic and waterproof in the listing title. They were in a youth size 9 and they had a hook and loop closure as most of these like hiking sandals from Keen do. They sold for $14.69 as part of my 30% off sale. They took a good number of years to sell and I probably had them listed too high, but I didn't have any money into them. They were my son's and he wore them a good amount and so my net profit was $11.33.
Speaking of which, I need to look. Okay, if any of you guys have keen, I don't What size is he? I think he's like a size one now. He needs new Ke. We're going to Seattle later in the summer and we're going to be going to the Northern Cascades National Park and he needs good like hiking sandals. So, if you have any, let me know. But on eBay, I also sold this pair of American Eagle gray slim straight extreme flex chinos. They were in a men's size 29 by 32. I put the word school in the listing title just in case there was a kid who needed like neutral colored bottoms for like a private school or something. I was really niching down there. Like I don't that was a reach. I don't know what was going on. But these did sell for $13.99 as part of my 30% off sale. They had been listed for 2 to 3 years. So not a quick flip by any means. I had $111 into them again from my local consignment store's birthday sale, but I got it like the following week during a fill a bag sale, which is why that was so cheap and my net profit was $11.
I also sold on eBay this new in the box Studio by Belullein micro USB to USB cable for Samsung LG. Just a little cable thing, right? Like a whatever that sold for $459.
It was promoted at 3%. It took two and a half years to sell. It was something that my husband was like, "We have this.
We don't need it. Do you want to list it?" And I was like, "Okay." And I made a $1.76.
So, probably the worst sale of the week, but it's fine. I didn't have any money into it. Also on eBay, I sold this new with Tags Can's Distressed Denim Bermuda shorts in a size small. They had a frayed hem. They were mid-rise. Those sold for $20.99.
They were part of the 30% off sale. They took under three months to sell and I got them at an 80% off clearance sale at a local consignment store. So, I had $2.80 into those and my net profit was $20.94.
Finally, the last day of sales that we'll talk about in this video were April 19th, which was a Sunday. On eBay, I sold this pair of Lululemon ABC Slim Fit 5 pocket pants. They were like the Warp Stream and they were in the color silver drop. They were in a men's size 31 and I put the word classic in the listing title. These sold for $24.40 as part of my 30% off sale. I had gotten them at the Plato's Closet 90% off clearance sale and they took 11 days to sell. I had $3.50 into them and so my net profit was $15.37.
And if I remember correctly, I think these were part of their like what's the word? not refurbished, but like Lululemon has a program in place where you can bring them your old Lululemon items that you don't want anymore, and they will resell their own stuff. And I think they even do it on their site. But when they do that, they literally will put on, you know, like the back of the collar or on the back of the pants on the inside, like it'll say like new, so you know that this is not something that you're getting brand new from Lululemon.
So, I believe if I'm not mistaken, it was either this or something else, but recently I picked up something and I think it was these from Play-Doh's. I picked up something that said like new, which is fine. Like that means it went through Lululemon and they deemed it fit enough to be resold. The other crazy thing about this sale though is that I got a return request on it and the person stated that the reason they wanted to return it was because I didn't disclose a couple stains that were on the front and I feel like I think that was it. Like and he pointed them out in the pictures. He was like, you know, there's stains here and here and here.
And I looked at the pictures and I was so confused. And so what I did was I looked at the pictures that I took of the pants that were in my listing and I zoomed in on the part where he was saying these stains were and I did not see these stains in the pictures that I took. So I was like, did he wear them and stained them? And now he's got like buyer remorse cuz there's like these stains and he's trying to get his money back.
I think it's my neighbor.
Not the neighbor from our church, but like literally the neighbor that lives next door. I think they're seeing if my son can play. I hear him running upstairs. My son, there's a lot going on in our house today. Okay, so yeah, I didn't know if he had worn them and stained them, but also when I looked at his picture a little bit closer, they were not in the same color as the pants that I sent him. His were more of like a khaki. Mine, like I said, the color is silver drop. They were more of like a grayish silver color. So I when I looked at like the options that I had because basically this was going to go into the system as an inad as like you know item not as described which is you don't want that to happen to you. you don't want that kind of ding on your eBay account if you get not even that many of those like you start moving down tiers from like top seller to above average to below average and like you just don't want those kinds of things to happen right and so the only options I had from eBay were to like start the return and give him a refund essentially as well as like sending him money for the shipping label or I could reach out to him and I was like okay like and I really had wanted to just like call eBay and you like this guy's trying to scam me. Like this isn't even the same pair of pants.
But I was like, "Okay, I'm going to try reaching out to him first. I'm going to be a big girl. Put my big girl pants on." So I reached out to him and I was so nice and I was like, "Hey, I'm so sorry that the pants you received were in that condition. However, >> a few moments later, >> my camera died and I don't even know where I left off. So, I'm going to try to pick up from where I think I was, but I messaged the guy and I said, "I'm sorry that the pants arrived to you in the condition that they did. However, are you sure these are the right pants because I'm looking at the pictures that I took and I'm not seeing the same stains and the pants that you're showing in your picture appear to be in a different color. So, I just wanted to double check. are you sure these are the right pants? Next thing I know, the return is closed. And he messaged me privately and he was like, I'm so sorry.
It was a mixup. Like, I got another pair of pants from a different seller and I meant to message that person about the package that they sent me. And he was like, your package was perfect and the pants were exactly as described and I was really happy with them. So, thank you. And I was like, oh my gosh. So, I'm really glad that I again put on my big girl pants and I reached out and just talked to the guy personally. He ended up being a lovely human being. He left me positive feedback and I'm glad that I didn't like come at him in a really aggressive way like how dare you try to scam me or you know this or that. like I gave him the benefit of the doubt even though in my head you know not like some different thoughts had entered like maybe he is trying to scam me in different ways or whatever but when I approached him I tried to approach him with as much kindness and again like not trying to accuse him of anything and that worked out basically the best way that it could have. So, I was really thankful and it just helped restore some of my faith in eBay and just reselling and just like people in general, you know what I mean? That was really it was a good experience to have. So, I think I said all this already, but they sold for $24.40. I had 350 into them. My net profit was $15.37.
Oh, I lied. This was my best sale of the week. So, also on the 19th on eBay, I sold this Roots of Fight Bloodlines Julio Cesar Chavez stadium jacket in a men's size medium. It had like a big patch on the sleeve and like on the inside of the jacket on the back it had all this cool stuff. I got this for $6.99 at a local Goodwill in August. I'm not going to talk about the jacket too much because the truth is it already sold once on eBay. It sold I want to say it sold for a little bit less than it sold for this time around.
This time it sold for $115.90 and it took less than a month to sell after it was relisted. The reason it got returned the last time was because the guy said that it was just too small on him. I actually want to look and see if like I've been raided on this. Like I'm wondering if it's done done. I think it is done done. Like I think enough time has passed now that they can't return this even if they wanted. Yeah. Like I haven't gotten any feedback or anything like that on this. Okay. So, no feedback, but this was delivered April 24th. I mean, I guess they could still return it. The hope is that they will not. The hope is that it fits this person, but the reason why it was returned the last time was due to fit. It sold for $115.90 this time. I think the last time it sold for a little under hundred and that was an offer that I sent out to watchers was $115.90.
And so my net profit on that was $8910.
So, as much as it stunk when, you know, the return was open the first time, and I think I've said this before, but I don't want someone who has spent over $100, you know, all in with shipping and tax and all that stuff on an item not to be able to use it because it doesn't fit and then to also not be able to return it. Like, that's such a crappy feeling.
And I would hate to be stuck in that situation. So, I mean, as annoying as it was that that person returned it because it didn't fit him, the hope is that this person will actually get some good use out of the item. You know, like that's the reason why we resell. Yes, to make money, but also to give items a second chance at life and to send them to someone that will truly love and cherish that item and use it for many more years. Like, that's the most beautiful part about reselling is just giving those items a second chance at life. So, I'm hoping that that's what happened here. But that was a great sale and I was really happy about that. Also, on eBay, I sold this vintage '90s Nautica men's large button-down shirt. It was made of 100% cotton. It was stripes and I put the word preppy in the listing title. I got this when I went on my solo thrifting trip through Ohio. If you want to check out that video, I will link it right here. That sold for $18.90. That was an offer that I sent out to watchers. It took less than 3 months to sell. I'm saying I had $2 into it cuz I got it from the bins in Ohio. And my net profit on that was $12.76.
And the final sale of the week was this Free People's large maxi dress. It was like a cream beigish color. It was strapless, very boho crochet. It was beaded. I put the word prairie in the listing title, too.
And Free People, generally speaking, have like style names for all of their garments. And I do like to try and take the time to find the style name. In fact, the other day I was at a consignment store and a girl who was checking out, she was looking at one of the workers and she was like, "Is that dress free people?" The one that the girl was wearing. And the girl looked down and she's like, "I don't think so."
She was like, "I can't remember the brand." And she was like, "Oh, it's Riley and Crew." And the girl, the customer was like, "Oh, it looks just like this Free People dress that I have been eyeing for forever." I thought it was maybe like a Free People dupe. and she said, "I have a saved search on Poshmark for the Free People dress that I want." Which means she has a saved search for Free People and like the style of that Free People dress and she's just hoping that someone will list it and she can snatch it up. There are people who know Free People that well.
They know it that intimately to know like the style names of things and there are things that they really want and they'll type that actual style name into the search bar. And because I know that, I spent a stupid amount of time trying to figure out the style name for this dress. Could not find it. Like I spent probably a half hour on this one listing because I was just looking for the style name. I was using Google Lens. I was doing everything that I could. Could not find a style name for it. And to some degree, I think that that helped because Free People style names tend to be long.
They take up a lot of the characters.
You can't use as many keywords. But without the style name, I was able to put things like boho, crochet, beaded, prairie, like all these things that people might be using to look for a dress like this. And who knows, like maybe the person who found this dress didn't even use the word Free People in their search. They were just looking for a crocheted prairie boho dress or something. Like, who knows? But I think I was still able to make this listing title very rich with keywords and I think that's what helped it sell. It sold for $25.90. That was an offer that I sent out to watchers. It took one month to sell. I got it at my local consignment store's 80% off clearance sale. So, I had $5.60 into it. And my net profit was $15.30.
That was everything that sold for me in the week. So, now let's talk some numbers. On eBay, I sold 18 items, which felt really good. eBay has definitely over the past few years now, like been at the top for me. it has taken the crown as the king of my reselling platforms. It just it's the most consistent. Whereas Poshmark, like I said, has just been god awful. Merkari, like what is even going on with Merkari?
Depop has honestly been a little bit slower for me, too, and whatnot because I've been investing time into doing live shows and stuff like you'll hear about some of that next week. And because I've been listening to the marketplace, like I've been doing okay on whatnot, but eBay consistently shows up as my number one platform. So, I had $617.96 in sales. I had $70.68 items into those items. And my net profit on eBay was $32,959.
I had two Poshmark sales for a gross sales amount of $56.
I had $339 into those two items. And my net profit on Poshmark for the entire week was $4141.
That's insanely low and bad. and woo on whatnot. I had two sales as well for $80. My cost of goods for those two items was $10.13 and my net profit was $59.86.
So in total I sold 22 items for a gross sales amount of $753.96.
I had $84.20 into those items and my net profit was $43.86.
I've been tracking my sales from the estate sale that I went to a year ago.
I'm going to stop tracking those at the end of this month because at that point it will have been over a year since I went to that estate sale. And even though I still don't have everything listed, I think it's about time to stop telling you guys the number as far as like how much I've made from that estate sale. If you really want to know, let me know. I'll probably keep track of it still for myself, but not feel the need to share it as much. So, I sold two items from the estate sale this week for a net profit of $36.25.
So that means I have sold 257 items from that estate sale for a net profit of $4,967.34.
And in the year 2026 thus far, I have made $5,5264 from reselling as a part-time reseller.
So I'm happy about that. I'm excited again for school to be over so I can, you know, spend the first like week of June when I'm not traveling. Just doing as much as I can for my reselling business, trying to get ahead and, you know, like getting listings and like scheduling listings out for the future for when I am traveling so that my reselling business can stay alive. But yeah, I'm just really excited with where things are going. And if you subscribe and make sure that you get notified when my next what's sold video goes live, I'll be talking about kind of dipping my toes back into whatnot. I don't plan on becoming like just a whatnot seller. I definitely expect to, you know, incorporate whatnot shows, but also list stuff online. And I'm excited to share with you how I've been doing over on Whatnot. I've been really happy with how things have been going over there. So, don't forget to subscribe. I will see you guys in the next one. Thank you so much for watching.
