[00:00:00]So, I'm walking around Costco here and noticing these prices. For example, these Madras lentils, $15.99. I bought those a year ago for $6.99.

[00:00:09]Let's look at what else we got going on here, guys.

[00:00:17]Damn, this is the flour we were buying for $5.99 last year.

[00:00:28]Wow. We literally bought this chicken broth $5.69 2 months ago. And I keep getting told that we got, you know, 6 7% [music] inflation. You got to be kidding me.

[00:00:38]>> I just don't get it, guys. Grocery prices continue to go every single day and they say inflation is 4 and 4%, whatever the case is. But when you see things double and triple in price, and maybe some of the packaging maybe changes, maybe these are exceptions to the rule. I guess we can, you know, be optimistic about it, but people are losing it all over because everything just continues to go up every single day and week, guys. When we talk about gas prices, they are going up as well. So, you know, in this video we're going to cover it all. People are losing it right now because of these insane grocery prices. [00:01:13]>> I just got done grocery shopping at Walmart. Walmart is supposed to be a relatively cheap place to get your groceries from, which is why I shop there pretty often. Do you guys know how expensive hamburger meat is now? It is literally almost $8 for 1 lb and it doesn't matter what kind of hamburger you're getting. It doesn't matter if it's the 75/25, the 85/15 lean, like it doesn't matter what kind you get. It's all almost $8, which is insane because my mom used to tell me when I first moved out of the house and was purchasing things on my own. She was like, "Just always have hamburger because hamburger is so inexpensive. You can pick it up. You can make so much with it."

[00:01:58]Like that adds up so freaking fast. My groceries weren't that expensive. Like I I was adding them up. I'm like, "Okay, this is fine. This is fine. This is fine." I added my hamburger and my price skyrocketed. That's freaking crazy. What are we doing? What is this economy that we are all living in right now? It makes me so mad.

[00:02:20]Hamburger is so expensive and that is supposed to be one of the most easily accessible meat.

[00:02:24]>> Yeah, and what she says hamburger, she's talking about ground beef. I'm just making this assumption, but yes, it is.

[00:02:28]It's going up because of the prices and because of the things that are going on right now today's in today's economy, in today's country, guys. Some of the decisions. You guys don't know, farmers are going through an insane situation right now. We've also purchased meat from, you know, countries like Argentina and all these different things. We're giving billions of dollars away. We don't We know gas prices. Everything is going up right now. It's absolutely insane. And the unfortunate part about this is people or the American people are the result of this. They suffer as a result of the things that are going on right now. And I'm not saying that everybody is broken today's economy.

[00:03:03]Let's not sit back here and make it seem like everybody is going through this.

[00:03:07]But a overwhelmingly majority of the people within the country are feeling these prices. That is the reality of it.

[00:03:14]So when you talk about, you know, oh, it doesn't matter and you're fear-mongering you're afraid of all this and you're making people scared. No, this is the reality. When you go to the grocery store and you see that bill at the end of it, it genuinely frustrates people.

[00:03:28]It genuinely infuriates it because people also remember what it used to be like and it's not going back to the right way that we're supposed to be going. That's the unfortunate part. But anyways, I got a massive compilation of all people crashing out. They're losing over these grocery prices. Enjoy the rest of these videos, guys. [00:03:54]$12 for some ground beef. Are you $6.29 for that? For 1 lb of beef? Not to even mention, look at the lean and fat ratio.

[00:04:09]What are you talking about? I swear that used to be half the price. I thought it was like $2.99 a year ago. $5.87 for a Lunchable.

[00:04:20]A Lunchable. So, my mom just passed away 2 days ago, and I'm having to go through records um in order to get stuff for her death certificate. And um if you didn't know this, I'm from Louisiana. I'm from New Orleans. And uh when Katrina had hit, I think FEMA had asked people to save their receipts in order to receive an reimbursement. Uh so, my grandmother, who's a very diligent record keeper, kept her receipts from grocery stores in 2005.

[00:04:49]Uh this is the price of groceries back then.

[00:04:51]Uh so, 1 gallon of orange juice was $1.39.

[00:04:56]Um mayonnaise was $2.59.

[00:05:02]Uh hot dog buns were $2.09.

[00:05:05]One pack A six-pack of Coke was $1.38.

[00:05:11]Uh a can of chili was $0.99.

[00:05:15]Or No, I'm sorry. You could get four cans of chili for $0.99.

[00:05:20]Um one thing of chips, so Lay's, like a big bag, I'm assuming, is $1.67.

[00:05:28]Instant grits were $2.45.

[00:05:31]A pack of buns, hamburger buns, was $0.89.

[00:05:38]I feel like I'm talking about this like it's the early 1900s, but it's crazy to see how much the pricing of food has gone up. I just shopping spending almost $300. And my question is, do you think that they're just going to keep raising the prices so that eventually, you know, $5.99 for a quarter pound of American cheese sounds like a good deal. Like, how long are these prices going to go up for?

[00:06:07]Because, hear me out, no one can afford anything. It's a shame and it's very sad. There's just a bunch of sad people at the checkout line, and I was one of them. I'm just wondering, how does this all work? You know, how does it work?

[00:06:30]$3.99 for a little small tub of cream cheese. That's the deal. That's the lowest price.

[00:07:22]I'm not showing you the greatest foods because meat is out of control, but frozen pizzas, they start off as low as $4.99, but they're all like $6.99, $11.99 for a frozen pizza. You get to take it home and make it yourself. $10.99.

[00:07:43]I just went grocery shopping, opened this bag of chips, I have not touched it.

[00:08:16]Probably because the price of groceries are insane. I just spent $73 on essentially one meal and a couple of extra things. I'll show you, hold on.

[00:08:28]Okay, so for dinner night I decided to make spaghetti because I don't know what to make and it's a crowd pleaser, everybody likes it. So I got a salad kit.

[00:08:36]Three jars of off-brand spaghetti sauce.

[00:08:42]I'm making spaghetti for nine people and so that's why I get three jars. I decided to get the loaf of garlic bread because it was like $2, so it was cheap, but I did get two of them because nine people.

[00:08:55]Hamburger alone cost like $20 for 3 lb of hamburger.

[00:09:01]You like to grate my own cheese, so I got a pound of mozzarella and I got a wedge of Parmesan. So angel hair off-brand spaghetti noodles.

[00:09:14]And for a sweet treat for my kids, I wanted to make no-bake cookies for after dinner for dessert. So I got some instant oats. We were low on sugar, so I did go ahead and buy a thing of sugar. I did buy the big thing of peanut butter because the one I normally buy is $4.99 and this and it's 40 oz, this is 64 oz and it was on sale for 549. So, of course, I got the bigger one.

[00:09:40]But, it seemed like the smart thing to do.

[00:09:42]So, I've got some off-brand cocoa to make the cookies. Beyond what I got for dinner and what I got to make dessert, the only extras I bought I bought these Lunchables for their lunches because they were four for $5.

[00:09:58]Oh, I did buy some sticks of butter because I do need this for the cookies also and we don't have any.

[00:10:03]And then, we are also out of eggs. So, I bought an 18-pack of eggs.
