[00:07:36]All right, I'm I'm done. Okay, so we're just talking about stuff you can do over a B7 chord. Uh, that's kind of what I'm working on right now. I was just teaching a lesson and I had a student not show up, so I was like, man, [ __ ] it. We're doing it live. That's what I said to myself in my mind. Um, I'm going to do a more official live stream here in August. So, first week of August, there's going to be a lot of [ __ ] popping off. Um, official live streams every week, shred sessions, got a bunch of stuff booked. Um, a lot of other videos. I don't want to give away too much stuff because I don't want to hype myself up. And I also think it's annoying when people talk about the stuff that they're going to do instead of the stuff that they're actually doing. So, um, playing around with this amp, this guy guy right here, the Mer um F15 LII. It's an AI amp, which everybody pretty much everybody I know thinks AI is gay and annoying, but there's so many businesses using AI. Like, business is business with AI. enhance your business's business with AI and more AI.

[00:08:56]So anyway, AI is a big thing, big topic.

[00:08:58]They're putting it in amps. They're putting it in practice amps. And so I re I'm going to be reviewing one and I can't wait to share with you how the AI how the Chinese AI works in this amp. Um it's going to be fun. So okay, so stuff you can do over a B7 chord.

[00:09:18]um B mixelyian.

[00:09:27]So you could think about that as just B mixelyian or you could think about it as E major, which is like the parent scale that it's in. So So B7 arpeggios, you know, playing as many of those as you can. Here's one here.

[00:09:44]B7 triads, right? Um so so just being able to get around the guitar and play a bunch of um you know different arpeggios uh seventh chord arpeggios um two note per string mirror image just being able to like um just navigate those.

[00:10:24]Right? So, so that is the direct chord tones that you're playing over when you do that. Of course, anybody that plays blues or plays dominant chords or plays over dominant chords, of course, the blues scale works or the pentatonic B pentatonic minor.

[00:10:48]Um, uh, Joseph Franchini franchin that can't really pronounce your name, dude. Um, love Italians though. And uh, thank you, man. Thank you for saying that I'm good at guitar.

[00:11:19]How about that? Uh, dude, I've been interacting with him a lot on YouTube lately. Um, really great guitar player as well. Awesome. Like he's got the he's just has the shred vibes going hardcore.

[00:11:36]Sickest version of that song I think I've ever heard. And I had when I was listening to it, I was like, man, anybody that is in a boat while the fireworks are going off, which I think you have to be a pretty special person to be in a boat on the 4th of July on the water as the fireworks are going off. Um, that would be the song I would listen to. Um, and the chord changes in that tune are no joke. Lee Greenwood, I don't know if he wrote those chords or if somebody else wrote that song. and Lee Greenwood is the guy that's known for playing that tune. But um that song rules and Lee Greenwood rules.

[00:12:18]So there's that. Fun story. I got to actually play a gig with Lee Greenwood's drummer long time ago. Um when I first around the time I first moved to Nashville when I was a young chap, I played a gig uh it was a kind of a pop a female pop artist. Um, she hired me and Lee Greenwood's drummer to play this gig and it went it went pretty well. So, it was cool to play a gig with with a real a real guy, a real gig in [ __ ] um, if you will. So, um, yeah, dude. No problem. Uh, Fak Mild, more is more. You're damn right.

[00:12:55]More is more. Hell yeah. Okay, so B mixelyian, B minor pentatonic. Most people know that. Another good one is a melodic minor up a half step. So let me show you what that sounds like. So over a B7 altered chord or B7 chord you can play.

[00:13:19]Okay. So you can play C melodic minor.

[00:13:22]Okay. So um up a half step. So very cool dude. That's badass. You got to be legit to be in Nashville. I mean, I'm, you know, I don't consider myself a legit gigging guy that can just play anything. That's my buddy Christian Kabelli. He can play like any chord progression from any tune ever. Like that's he does like the dueling pianos gig. You You have to have a to play well on a gig and have people call out songs and actually do the song justice and be able to hear chord changes on the spot. I'm a little rusty at that stuff at that point, but my buddy Christian Kabelli, he's he's really good at that and he he can hear harmony in my opinion better than me.

[00:14:05]But okay, so B7 chord, uh B mixelyian, B7 arpeggios, B major triads, C melodic minor. I like to use the third mode of C melodic minor, which is uh Lydian augmented. So, a lot of the time when I'm playing over a chord like this, I'll start on the third. You know, since I'm a shredder, I do three note per string.

[00:14:53]So, I've been doing some rusty [ __ ] stuff. 1 2 3 4 5 uh 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4 5.

[00:15:13]So, the melodic minor scale, a lot of people uh think it's like this elusive thing. It's like hard to to learn, but it's really just a major scale that starts off minor. So, if you think of C major, just put an E flat instead of a regular E in it.

[00:15:47]Okay. So, there you go. There's some ideas. C melodic minor. You could also play F sharp melodic minor. I don't really I don't know how good that's going to sound. Basically, it's melo melodic minor up a fifth from whatever chord you're on. So, um the unforgiven solo.

[00:16:03]Uh I'm only unforgiven. I don't know, dude. I never learned a bunch of Metallica stuff. The only Metallica That's the only thing I I can I can do.

[00:16:22]Much like Malmstein. Yeah. Trying to be He's one of my heroes, man.

[00:16:45]So, that's pretty cool. I got to give a shout out to um this dude Steve Jeffrey over in the UK. He's another Malmstein devote and he he came out with this book where he it's all Paganini 24 Caprices tabbed out for electric guitar. Okay. So, I've been going through this um and I've been working on the first Caprice and the fifth Caprise, and at some point I I'll put some videos out. But you can get this book for like 24 bucks or something like that. If anybody's into Paganini or, you know, shred guitar and you want to learn some good classical repertoire, um this is what I would get on your fingers. A lot of requests all of a sudden, man, and it's all [ __ ] that I can't play. Uh Moonlight Sonata. No, I can't play that. Damn. and bust out the ingve. Yeah, I'm trying, man. I'm trying to bust out the the the mound licks. But this is more of like a like a scale like what scales to play over B7 video for anybody joining us. So, I'm goating the guitar. [00:19:27]Okay, so another thing I've been doing is is working on the uh double harmonic major scale or the Byzantine scale.

[00:19:37]Okay. And so let's talk about that. Um, if you think of a harmonic minor, which is this.

[00:19:53]Okay. So, a harmonic minor. If you put a sharp four in there.

[00:20:09]Okay. If you put a sharp four in regular harmonic minor, um you are playing the uh what is it? Oh, frick, man. My brain is escaping me. Um Hungarian minor.

[00:20:23]That's the Hungarian minor scale. You can So, so take a harmonic minor scale, sharp the four, and you're playing Hungarian minor. So, there's basically three half steps in a row. But what I found is that you can play uh double harmonic major up a fourth from any dominant chord and it kind of has this cool outside sound. So technically I'm playing E double harmonic major over a B7 chord and that's that's how I'm getting this sound which I'll play for you right now. So there's the there's the uh Hungarian minor.

[00:22:53]Okay. Okay. So, you can kind of hear how it it works, but it's a little outside, right? So, you can't play that the whole time. Like, you'll lose people unless unless people are super stoned at the gig and doing mushrooms and stuff and they're wasted. Then you can play that the whole time and they'll think it's awesome. But the average listener doesn't want to hear a bunch of outside [ __ ] the whole time. So, keeping things tonic, right? keeping it chord tone centered some of the time and then reaching outside and actually constructing lines. I'm just kind of shredding right now. I'm not really playing like cool lines or anything. So, the Egyptian scale. Which one is the Egyptian scale, Max? Is the Is it the one? Are you saying it's the one that I was playing?

[00:23:38]Do I know the circle of fifths? Yes, I do.

[00:23:41]C, G, A, uh, C, G, D, A, E, B, F sharp, which is also G, uh, G flat. And then if you go the other way, it's F, B flat, E flat, A flat, D flat, G flat, C flat.

[00:23:57]Yeah, I know. The circle of fifths and the circle of fourths. Licks for opening up the tri. Yeah, for Tribal Tech. Yeah.

I I never learned any cool stuff early on in the game. Uh, played a lot of Kings X songs growing up, but um Russy [ __ ] episode changed my life, dude. He's he's awesome, man.

[00:26:54]Yeah, he's I've actually been uh taking lessons with him. Um, for the last several weeks I've been taking some lessons. Um, and it's been great. Russy's been showing me a lot of a lot of cool stuff.

[00:27:08]Uh, a lot of like sequence stuff. Um, so like if you if you're playing a scale, so that's cool. Like, but that's like square one is just to be able to play the scale. So Rusty's showing me this multidirectional stuff where you're like, and he'll he'll throw sevens in there.

[00:27:38]So you got 1 2 3 4 5 or 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4 5. So, so you do like single string patterns of fives and stuff like that, which is it sounds sick to be able to do that, but Rusty can play that stuff at warp speed.

[00:28:08]So, then you do sevens. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7.

[00:28:14]And then you can do it in reverse. 1 2 3 4 5 6 F.

[00:28:18]Okay. Um, that that stuff is is really cool and I've been trying to to incorporate that, but there there's a lot of uh coordination stuff.

[00:28:38]So, he's he's been sending me a lot of tabs and uh um and stuff like that. And Rust, what's cool about taking lessons with Rusty is he tabs everything that he ever works on out. So he has references for it, which I've taken lessons with a lot of guitar teachers that don't write a damn thing down, I guess, cuz they're lazy.

[00:28:59]And so they just tell you to remember it or something like that. Um, which puts all the burden on the student and forces you to keep taking lessons for years.

[00:29:06]But Rusty will just give you the stuff, which is which is great. Um, uh, I can play like a couple mountains scene licks. I I can't like play an entire, you know, Heat. Heat.

Um, just remember over a B7 chord, you can play B mixelyian, you can play E major, you can play B7 arpeggios, you can play the B blues scale, you can play B minor pentatonic, um, you can play uh, you can play a lot of things. You can play C melodic minor, you can play F# melodic minor, you can play the A Hungarian minor scale, you can play E double harmonic major. Uh, those are just a few ideas to get you started.

[00:41:07]There's like 11 different things you can play over a dominant chord, but those are just a few for anybody that wants to try this stuff. You can't play B. This is really the co the chord that beginners when you first learn guitar and you start learning songs and you and you let's say you're playing in the key of E, that that B chord, that grip on the guitar is really hard. What I tell people to do is put your thumb low on the back of the neck. Keep your wrist straight. Thumb low on the back of the neck. And that'll help you get like things like B minor, you know. Um those chords are for the Palestinian children that were bombed.

[00:42:00]Yeah. Yeah. study the Rothschilds guys and understand that they really brought usery to a new level in our current economic system hundreds of years ago.
