The Facebook Marketplace Diet
Added:All right, guys. For the next 3 days, everything that we are eating is coming from Facebook Marketplace. I'm going to try to get at least three [music] things per day. I am in San Diego, so all the food is going to be San Diego food. I'm also going to try to interview the Facebook Marketplace sellers to see what they like about Facebook Marketplace.
Right now, it's 9:30 in the morning, and we are here to pick up our first meal from Facebook Marketplace. By the way, it is crazy the kinds of foods you can find on Facebook Marketplace. You're going to see in this video. Without further ado, let's go pick up our very first meal. Testing, testing, testing.
We are on location at our very first pick up spot. By the way, ladies and gentlemen, check it out. I got a microphone, and look at this, brand new Killdozer merchandise. This is the Volmer shirt, but we have tons of other shirts available. Also, we restock the air fresheners, the cookbooks, and the stickers. Okay, we are here with >> Christina.
>> Christina made the first meal of the challenge. This is a sushi bake.
Christina, how long have you been selling on Facebook Marketplace for?
>> I literally probably just started a month ago.
>> orders have you done so far?
>> Probably around like 50.
>> 50 orders?
>> Yeah.
>> And then, do you have like an Instagram or anywhere to shout yourself out?
>> Yeah, you can find me mostly anywhere at Christina Cooks. So, Facebook, you can find me. TikTok is Christina Cooks, and then Instagram is Christina Cooks SD.
>> She also threw in a What is this? Boba?
Uh >> coffee with some boba.
>> Vietnamese coffee with some boba for Jessica. We're going to try it. Thank you, Christina.
>> Yeah, thank you.
>> And uh we'll give it a rating. 50 orders off of Facebook [music] Marketplace in her first month. 50. We're going to save the sushi bake for when we get home, but first up, let's try the Vietnamese coffee.
Oh my. I think they use uh condensed milk for Vietnamese coffee. I'm a big fan of the boba down below. This is probably my favorite kind of coffee, but there's just so much sugar in it. Coffee gets a 9.4. It's one of the best coffees you can have. All right, guys, we are back at home, and the sushi bake is still piping hot. She also threw in some seaweed and some Hi-Chews. By the way, this entire thing was $25.
>> [laughter] >> Not going to lie, it looks pretty good.
I don't actually know what kind of fish is in here. Definitely a lot of rice.
I don't know if there's any fish in here. I think there's little bits of crab on the top, but there's not a ton of fish in here. A lot of cream cheese.
Look at the layers we're getting here, guys. All right, Jessica's going to try it.
It's extremely creamy. The rice is really good.
>> Has good flavor. I think it's crab. Like a baked California roll.
>> For 25 bucks, this is pretty phenomenal.
Let's try it with some seaweed. Yeah, now we're talking.
It really does taste like a big baked California roll. Facebook Marketplace rules. I'd say we are off to a wonderful start. I do wish there was a little bit more meat in there. So, I'll give it an 8.6.
>> 7.9.
>> Taking a break now, guys. Playing a little bit of GeoGuessr. Also, the Kill the Merc Store has a tote bag for the grocery store. All right, guys. It's 2:00. I'm on the way to get our next meal. I'm very excited for this one.
This is going to be a Filipino special.
I'm actually going to go drive and pick up three things for the rest of the day, so I don't have to drive around anymore.
>> We are in National City.
>> Pick up food at the alley. Very good.
All things considered, this is pretty close to a drug deal. Guys, look at this. They got the flags. There's people across the street loading trays of stuff into their car. It seems like we're in some kind of food alley. No interview for these people. It's a little bit busy, but we got the goods. Oh, this smells so good. Here we go, guys. All the way from the island of the Philippines. This is 25 pieces of lumpia. Eat that.
>> One on the floor.
>> Facebook Marketplace is a gold mine.
This food is fantastic. I think this is sweet and sour sauce. Oh, yeah.
They pack it with a pretty good amount of meat, too. Look at all the crispy layers. This is incredible. Shout out to the Filipinos. You guys rule. All things considered, I think I'm going to give this a 9.3.
Another wonderful choice from the Facebook Marketplace.
I could eat all 25 of these in about 5 minutes. Okay, we're heading to the next spot right now. It's only about 5 minutes down the road. Maybe National City is some kind of hot spot for Facebook Marketplace food.
All right guys, we are currently on location for the next pickup spot. This is a Walmart. What would you guys be more comfortable with? Picking up Facebook Marketplace food from an alley or from a Walmart? I've also neatly positioned myself in the back corner of the Walmart. Very the farthest away from every I'll spill the beans and tell you guys what we're getting. We're getting soul food. Okay, soul food is a pretty big thing. A lot of people are very particular about their soul food. So, I don't know if I'm the best one to rate soul food. So, hopefully it's pretty good. This guy seems really cool. Also, I should mention the last lumpia place, um, the wife was the one that handled the conversation over Facebook, uh, and the guy came out and gave the food. So, I didn't want to record the guy. I should have asked him. I'm a little bit shy. But, that lumpia is normally $20 for 25 pieces. They charged us nothing.
They wouldn't let us pay. Here is the information if you want to get lumpia from there. I highly recommend getting into that alley. There's some good stuff going on in that alley in National City.
>> All right, we are here with >> Jayden. Jayden's Kitchen.
>> And, uh, Jayden, how long have you been doing, uh, Facebook Marketplace?
>> Honestly, I just posted about less than a year ago, but I've been cooking for a total about 3 years.
>> And, uh, how many orders have you done, you think?
>> Maybe over like 20 orders, 30 orders.
>> Yeah?
>> A lot of people hit me up for it. I could have had at least like 50, 60, 100 orders, but >> Yeah.
>> They They ask if it's available, and then they just never respond back.
>> So, how many days a week can you do this?
>> Like, I try to do it every weekend, but I could do it every day if I get enough orders.
>> A quick shout out. Where can we find you? And, uh, what do you make?
>> Uh, on Instagram, I make soul food. I just try Mexican food, all that. I just specialize in the soul food though primarily, but Jayden's Kitchen on all social media.
>> we're going to try it in the car.
And, I'll let you guys know what we think.
>> know, yeah. Honest review.
>> Love. Hey brother. I don't really have time to eat it right now, guys. I have to go pick up our final thing of the day. This final dish is something that has been extremely viral over the past couple months. Guys, I had to open it because it smelled too good. Look at this. Oh my god. This looks insane. By the way, guys, this is 20 bucks. He drove like 20 minutes to get this to me and it was $20 for this. Feels like 2 lb of food. The final food of the day has been secured and these are Kool-Aid pineapples. This is the green apple flavor. It was $12. The woman who sold it to me, her name is Angel. She didn't want to be on the video, no problem, but here is her information if you would like to purchase from her. I'm going to save the pineapples for tonight. Right now, I'm eating some of this soul food.
There's so much mac and cheese in here.
So, Jaden told me he normally deep fries the wings, but his deep fryer was not working, so he baked them, which I I actually prefer baked wings, so I'm not mad about that. Those are some good-looking wings.
Man, they need to stop sleeping on Facebook food. Very good flavor and it's cooked perfect. Look at that chicken.
Next up, the mac and cheese.
Man, I don't even know what to say. I mean, just look at this mac and cheese.
[music] That's going to be a top five mac and cheese of all time.
It's actually crazy how good this is.
All right, this looks like some kind of cabbage. I know normally soul food has collard greens. I don't know if these are collard greens. It looks like a cabbage.
You know you're doing something right when the cabbage tastes good. I mean, I think everything on this plate is seasoned [music] perfectly and the cabbage is nice and soft. It's very good. And the last thing on the plate, this smells so good. These are the candied yams or sweet potatoes, not sure what you'd call them.
Oh yeah, a lot of brown sugar on this.
I'm actually going to mix some of this with the mac and cheese.
I can't believe how good this food is.
This is honestly like one of the best dishes I've ever had. I know I said before I've only had soul food like once or twice before, but I'm definitely getting it more after this. Overall, I'm going to give this soul food a 9.8. I don't know if it can get much better than this. I'm really starting to love the Facebook Marketplace food. The 05 camera is going to smell wonderful tomorrow. Please check out the Killdozer merch store for the air fresheners. I need a new air freshener. This one has run out of scent. All right, I'm headed to a friend's house to watch the Spurs versus Knicks game. I'm going to have them try some of this food uh so you guys can see it's not just me that thinks it's good.
All right, here we go guys. We got the pineapple uh Kool-Aid.
>> [laughter] >> The juice doesn't taste very good. It kind of tastes like medicine. As you can see, the color has been affected by the Kool-Aid.
It tastes very green appley, that's for sure. It does taste a lot like medicine, unfortunately.
>> [laughter] >> I probably should have gotten a different flavor. This flavor is not very good.
This flavor is not my favorite. I should have picked a different flavor.
Pineapple is nice and sturdy, though.
It's a very chunky pineapple. Overall, I'd give this a 6.1. Not not a big fan of the Kool-Aid pineapple.
I think it's a bit of an acquired taste, and I do think that the green apple is what's causing the problem here. I think an other flavor would be better.
>> [laughter] >> It's all bad, but regular pineapple just wasn't good.
>> Yeah, that's true. Regular pineapple is probably better. I prepared a feast for all of my friends.
>> Okay, this is another sweatshirt of Mike with boxers um fighting water.
>> Killdozers are fight club. They're well outside water sources.
>> Well, guys, day one has been incredible.
We had some really good food today. We have two more days of this, and we have a lot more Facebook food to go, and a lot crazier food as well. I'm going to go play some League of Legends. Stay tuned for tomorrow, day two.
>> Hey Mike, can you move this for me?
>> Sure thing, Jessica. I can move it for you.
>> What's wrong? What happened?
>> I dislocated my shoulder.
>> Oh, no. You need to go find a doctor.
And I know just the place to look.
>> Jessica, I can't find a doctor on Facebook Marketplace.
>> Don't go there. Go to Zocdoc, today's video sponsor.
>> Zocdoc, what do they do?
>> Zocdoc is a free website where you can search and compare local in-network doctors in a matter of seconds. All you do is simply select a specialty, verify your location, and choose your insurance provider, and you'll be shown a wide array of doctors to choose from. And it's not just selecting who's available, but you can really choose who you feel comfortable with.
>> Wow, looks like they have over 200 specialties in all 50 states.
>> Don't keep putting off that doctor's appointment. Booking with Zocdoc is fast and easy.
>> All right, let's see if I can get an appointment for next month. What? This week? No way.
>> No phone call.
>> No hold music?
>> No stress.
>> Go to zocdoc.com/killdozer or scan the QR code on screen to find a doctor that fits you.
>> Thank you to Zocdoc for sponsoring today's video.
>> Day two, it's 10:00 in the morning. We are on our way to pick up four things today. I've pre-ordered four things for today, and I am very, very excited. All four of them seem like they're going to be really good. I am a little bit worried about the first one, though. The first one we're going to pick up is a lobster linguine. I brought Jessica with me. I'm excited to have her try it as well. I have pre-purchased all orders for today and tomorrow. So, [music] we have eight orders waiting for us. By the way, let me also mention, this is our most expensive dish yet. This cost $75.
Okay, we are at our first location of the day, and we are here with >> Jessica.
>> What have you made for us today?
>> So, I made the lobster and shrimp fettuccine. So, basically, the fettuccine and um shrimp and lobster.
>> I haven't found anybody else on Facebook Marketplace that's making lobster linguine. So, what made you decide to do a seafood dish for Facebook?
>> Actually, there's a my favorite spot here in downtown. And then, the first time I tried this meal, I was like, I got to make it. And I know how to cook, so I was like, I'm not going to over I'm not going to go over there and spend like $100 per plate while I could literally make my own plate.
>> So, this should be as good as the restaurant.
>> Yes. Yes, 100%.
>> Okay, is there anything else that you make?
>> Yeah, I make all kind of food. Um I'm African, specifically Tanzanian, so I make East African food, American type food, a little bit of Italian, um, Indian as well. And I'm confident, yeah, you can tell me, "Hey, I want mozzarella sticks from scratch and chicken wings."
I'll literally make it.
>> we find you at if people want to order?
>> So, Facebook, I use Jessica Kreeks, not Jessica, cuz a lot of people get it confused. My name is Jessica, j e s c a, Jessica Kreeks. You can find me over there. Yeah, yeah. Um, yeah, and then reach out to me, literally tell me anything. I'm going to make it.
>> Very cool. Thank you, Jessica. We appreciate it. We will try the food and we will let you know what we think.
>> Yes.
>> The moment you guys have been waiting for. Let's see what it looks like.
Oh >> [laughter] >> my goodness.
>> Mm, that smells so good.
>> Wow. Look at the seasoning on there.
>> Mm.
>> And it comes with these big pieces of shrimp.
>> Oh my god, there's so >> Very good seasoning.
>> Juicy everywhere.
>> It's like creamy. The pasta's like kind of creamy, actually. Looks like the lobster is actually out of the tail. So, there's the tail, it's hollow, and the lobster tail actually comes out. Look at the lobster tail, guys.
I've never had lobster like that before, because normally lobster is just butter, but there's tons of seasoning on there.
And you guys know me, I'm not a big seafood guy, but if I did have to get seafood, I would be very happy with this dish. Now, she gave us two servings of this. So, she split it up into two containers, and each one has an entire lobster tail. So, we actually got two lobsters, and then a bunch of shrimp as well.
>> That's good.
>> And this is a lot.
>> Also, very cool, she's from Tanzania.
I've never met anyone from Tanzania before. And she also threw in a free juice for us. This is some kind of, uh, vegetable, like carrot juice, I think.
Yeah, it's definitely carrot. There's something else in there, a little bit of sweetness in there. Yeah, maybe even papaya.
>> Mm, that's good.
>> Another big success for the Facebook Marketplace. As I said before, I'm not a big seafood guy, but I'll still give this a rating of a 9.2.
>> 9.1.
>> Okay, we're going to probably finish the whole dish here, and And we have to go to the next spot. The next spot is something I've seen a lot of on Facebook Marketplace and I've messaged four different people and every single time they say, "Oh, I can't do it." or "I'm not taking orders today." but I finally found one and I'm not even going to tell you guys what it is. I'm just going to show you.
>> [music and singing] >> For the second meal of the day, I think it was either 12 or 15 dollars.
And I got to be honest with you. It's probably the scariest looking thing we've had so far, but here they are.
These are the hot Cheeto boudin balls.
It's a carne asada. They kind of just smell like meat, which I think is a good thing.
So, not bad. Okay, without a doubt, 100% this needs some kind of sauce. But there we go. There's a good look at the inside of it. Good amount of cheese, good amount of meat, not a super spicy flavor from the hot Cheeto. The carne asada is actually pretty good. You know what? I actually kind of like this. I can't believe I'm saying this. Despite how it looks, I think I actually like this. I'm going to give it an 8.1. I am going to put it into the eights and I think the main reason for that is because of the amount of meat in this thing. There's a lot of meat and you guys know me, I'm a big meat guy. The cheese is pretty good, too. I really have nothing to complain about here other than the fact that I'm not a big hot Cheetos guy. This was a good little snack before the bigger meal later today for dinner. Also, the lady that gave it to me, very nice lady. She told me that I was a handsome young man and that's going to give her extra points. I might even put this in the 8.3 category now. Okay, my stomach is not feeling great right now. I'm going to head home.
Later today, we're going to go pick up some dessert and we also have what I think is going to be a burger. We're getting a burger from Facebook Marketplace later tonight for dinner, but right now I am stuffed.
Oh, my stomach does not feel good. And be honest, I will also say that I have had mediocre diarrhea.
>> I always do.
>> That's any indication as to how this is going, but I think the food is great.
So, I really don't think it's an issue.
Let me ask you guys, all the Killdozer purists out there, what would you guys sell on Facebook Marketplace? What food would you sell on the FBMP if you decide to start selling on there? What would you do? Me personally, it's not an easy question, is it? I think I would start selling I know exactly what I would do.
I would do air-fried chicken tenders and fries. I would do a nice little combo. I would offer onion rings. I would offer waffle fries, sweet potato fries, or just straight shoelace fries. And I would offer a three-piece, five-piece, or an eight-piece. I probably would just get the chicken tenders from Costco and then cook them in the air fryer myself.
I'm not going to make everything scratch, no way. And then I'd probably offer some kind of sauce on the side, maybe like some kind of Mike's crazy sauce. And I would charge an arm and a leg. I would charge a ton of money for it. No, I wouldn't charge any money. I'd give them away for free. No, I'd charge $5 per dish, which is cheap. I'd be losing money at that point. I think it would be more for the enjoyment of the experience. And really just finding out who are the people that are ordering from Facebook Marketplace food. All right, 2:00 on the way to get our next batch of food. All right, guys, we're at stop number three of the day and we're here with >> Bella.
>> Desiree.
>> Bella and Desiree. And what we have here, I'll show you guys.
>> Banana, chocolate chip, and Biscoff.
>> What are these exactly?
>> So, they're tres leches bars. These are our medium-size. Um normally $12 each.
Um this one is filled with Biscoff. And then the chocolate chip one also has a drizzle, the chocolate chips, the whipped cream as well. And then the banana cream is going to be banana, the cream, it's layered with bananas as well, and then cookie crumbles on top.
>> Okay, and what got you guys started uh selling on Facebook Marketplace?
>> We were looking for more of like a side activity, something to keep us busy, especially during the summer. We know people are going to be looking for extra snacks, extra treats, especially people coming in to visit. So, we were just we thought there'd be a good idea.
>> How many orders have you guys done so far?
>> So far we've got a good amount. This This week I think we've had already seven.
Um but it's been pretty picking up a lot actually.
>> Okay. Yeah, maybe more after this, who knows. Is the goal to open up your own place eventually, or you guys are cool with doing it out of your house?
>> We want to get a truck. So, hopefully a truck so that we can like move around and go to different places.
>> Okay, where can people reach you? Are you guys only sell on Facebook?
>> Instagram, Facebook, and then we're starting up our website as well.
>> Cool. I will put the information right up here, and it'll be in the description as well. If you guys want to try any of this or the other stuff. I'm probably going to put it in the fridge and then have it with my wife later. I'm very excited. So, thank you guys.
>> Very excited for you guys.
>> Okay.
>> I hope you guys enjoy it.
>> Okay. Thank you guys.
>> Have a good day.
>> So, those girls are pretty awesome. They threw in the Biscoff one. I only ordered these two, but they wanted me to try this one, too. So, they threw this one in for free. I'm going to put these in the fridge and eat them later tonight for a dessert. It's about 3:00 right now. I don't really want to drive around much more today. Let's go pick up some dinner. All right, so looks like this location is actually a restaurant. This is very tasty coffee.
>> This is the place on the inside. Very tasty coffee.
>> So, I messaged the guy on Facebook for this one, and he said, "Please call this number to order." So, I call. I say, "I want a double cheeseburger and a drink."
And he said, "Okay, no problem. Pay when you get here." I said, "Okay." No indication that it was a restaurant, by the way. But I get here, it's a restaurant. It's a Vietnamese guy that is the only guy in there, and there's a lot of people in there. I thought about just leaving, but nah, I said, "You know what? I did get it from Facebook, [music] so I guess it'll count." And I got to be honest with you, it looks pretty good. This is the matcha. This is the large matcha latte. And I also got the double cheeseburger with fries.
Every single person that comes in there, he says, "I can't do it right now. You have to wait." And they all say, "No problem. I'll wait." And there There's like three people waiting in there for like 20 minutes at a time. This is a good-looking double cheeseburger. This was $12 with the fries, and the drink was, I think, $8. So, the The cost was around 20 bucks.
It's got all the toppings on there and the meat is pretty well seasoned.
Ah, the french fries are really good, too. Nice and crispy, really thin. Shout out to Very Tasty Coffee. This is delicious. I'm going to give this a solid 8.4. I pretty much got this because of my wife, but I'll give it a try.
This just kind of tastes like milky grass. So, for me, it's going to get a 5.5. All right, I'm going to save this burger for later tonight. I'm still kind of stuffed from before. And then we're going to eat the tres leches tonight for dessert. Just cuz eating them >> pasta. She really likes this pasta.
>> It's so good.
>> All right, guys, it's 7:00. It's time to try the dessert. Eeny, meeny, miny, dozer. Catch a dozer by his tozer. Let's go with the banana cream first. Smells very banana-y. It's my understanding that tres leches is some kind of moist cake. It's like a milky cake.
>> Damn.
>> Okay, that might be the most banana-tasting thing I've ever had. It tastes like I'm swallowing bananas.
Jessica loves bananas, so I think she's going to like this.
>> Oh, my mouth's watering.
Getting goosebumps.
That's a 10, you guys.
>> The first 10 out of 10 on the channel from Jessica.
>> It's really good.
>> I'm not a big banana guy. For me, it's going to be an 8.8.
>> What?
>> This is the one I'm looking forward to.
This is the chocolate chip.
>> The hell?
>> This right here, by the way, we got some diapers in back.
This right here might be, if not the best dessert I've ever had, one of the best.
>> I'd be so fat if I knew how to make this.
>> The moist cakes are where it's at. That those dry cakes, nobody likes those. The moist stuff, though, like this, this is the good stuff. Chocolate chip one is a 9.8 for me. I'm going to save this one for later tonight. My brother's here, he's going to try THE BANANA.
>> 6.1?
>> WHAT? YOU'RE KIDDING ME.
>> WELL, what is it exactly?
>> Try the other one.
>> That one was so good. What's wrong with you guys?
>> 8.1. 10:00, time to try the Biscoff.
What even is Biscoff? It's like gingerbread?
That might even be my favorite one. It is kind of like gingerbread. Pretty much just gingerbread. Wow, this is going to be tough. I don't know if this one or the chocolate chip is better.
>> Banana.
>> It is very dangerous to have three of these in my house because I probably will eat them all. I'm going to give this one a 9.4. It's fantastic and I'm not even a big desserts guy. Tomorrow is the last day. Tomorrow's day three, the final day. I have a couple things planned. My seafood boil lady just [music] canceled on me. That's right. I had a full $80 seafood boil planned for tomorrow.
They canceled on me. That's kind of sad.
But, I'm going to try to replace it with something else. But, I do have three other things lined up for tomorrow. So, hopefully those work out. Peace out. I will see you guys tomorrow for day three. 9:00 in the morning, day three. I can't stop eating this cake. All right, we're heading over to get the first meal of the day. I'm in the '09 Dodge Ram. My Camry somehow got a flat tire. We're starting off the day with another pasta dish, but this time it's a very special pasta. We're here with >> Isaiah.
>> What is rasta pasta?
>> Rasta pasta is like so you got a Alfredo that's like a Jamaican jerk Alfredo.
>> Where can uh people find you?
>> I got an Instagram page. It's called Whisk by Isaiah _ Instagram and Facebook.
>> Yes, sir.
>> All right, cool. We're going to try this and I'll let you know what we think.
>> All right. Sounds appreciate it.
>> Thank you, brother. He also streams on Twitch. There is his Twitch right there if you guys want to follow. This was $35. It's huge. Yo, look at this. Double meat pasta. We're going to try the chicken first.
I don't know if it's just because I'm really hungry in the mornings, but this is I would say honestly I would say this is probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. My very first time trying rasta pasta.
Oh, yeah. This is spicy for sure. Double meat, sausage, chicken. I don't really know what else, but it tastes delicious. And he also threw in a Sprite. I believe these are garlic rolls.
Very garlicky, very good though. Once again, guys, Facebook Marketplace food has not failed us. Chicken is probably a 10 if I'm being honest. I'm not a spicy guy, so the pasta is going to get an 8.7. And the bread rolls, I'll give it an 8.5. Rasta pasta, pretty good stuff.
All right, we are off to the next location already. We are on location for the second meal of the day. I repeat, we are on location. The lady who sold it to me, I will put her info right there. I asked her for soup. She said, "Sorry, I can't do soup. I only do the soup in the big batches." Today, she hands me the bag, she says, "I made some soup for you." So, I'm very excited. It's like Italian sausage soup. I'm going to drive home, then I have two more things to pick up later today. All right, guys, back at home. I'm going to try the sandwich right now. I'm not going to wait for Jessica. Oh my goodness, look at the cross-section. Hold on, I got to get the cross-section on this.
>> [laughter] >> Oh, yeah. Look at that. Looks like some pretty good sourdough. I believe this is also homemade sourdough bread.
Oh, Facebook Marketplace is [music] the best. What we have here is a very fresh [snorts] sandwich. Everything tastes very fresh.
Lovely peppers in there. We got some avocado. We got some cheese. We got some turkey. And the bread is fantastic.
Definitely restaurant quality. I wish there was a little bit more meat in it, but I'll give it an 8.8. I still think it's fantastic. All right, I'm going to go take a break, play some League of Legends. In about 2 hours, we're heading to our dinner location, and after that, we're getting dessert. I didn't get my tire fixed, so we're in the Porsche on the way to pick up some Nigerian food.
Okay, we are here with >> Anita from Ifi Catering.
>> Ifi Catering, okay. Anita, what did you make for us today?
>> So, I made egusi soup, which is a dry melon soup um with goat meat, and it's like a bell pepper mix. And then I also made some fufu, and then I made jollof rice with chicken and plantain.
>> And this is um Nigerian food.
>> It is Nigerian food, yeah.
>> How did you learn to cook Nigerian food?
>> I was born and raised in Nigeria, yeah.
>> Okay, so this is like your your mom taught you?
>> is like my home. Like actually my dad.
And my dad is the cook in the family. Oh [ __ ] my mom is going to walk in. Both of them. Both of them. But yeah, my parents kind of taught me how to cook, and I'm I'm the eldest of four, so it's kind of like a right of passage for me to know these recipes.
>> If we travel to Nigeria and got this food, it would be as good?
>> I think mine would be better.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> For Facebook Marketplace, >> Yes.
>> how long have you been selling on here?
>> So, I moved from the Bay to San Diego, and so in San in the Bay, I had a clientele [music] and all that. Um but I have been doing it for like 2 months now cuz I just moved back and I was like, "Hey, um I miss catering." Cuz it's one of the things that I really like to do and I like sharing my food with people.
So, I was like, "Why not Facebook Marketplace so I can hit people that are not just in my community, but people that kind of want to experience Nigerian food?"
>> Do you do Instagram as well or just Facebook?
>> I do do Instagram. I do Instagram and we're going to move to TikTok and I also have like a sauce line for people that [music] are not close by, but want to try Nigerian food. They could just use a sauce and put the rice in it.
>> What do you recommend is the best way to eat uh eat the fufu?
>> Okay, with fufu you have to kind of like pick it, roll it up a little bit. If you can handle it, swallow it. If you cannot, you could chew it a little bit and then kind of swallow it. It will make you sleep after.
>> Okay.
>> It's one of those meals.
>> We will tag Anita right here in anything Instagram, Facebook, all that. And we will try the food and you will see yeah, we'll let you know how how it tastes.
>> Okay, sounds good. Thank you so much.
>> Of course.
>> There is no way we're going to eat this in the car. So, we're going to pick up dessert right now and then we're going to head home and try the rest of our food. All right, we are here with the final seller from Facebook Marketplace.
And your name is?
>> Destiny.
>> Okay, and Destiny, what did you make for us today?
>> I made a buttered garlic and herb loaf, brownie batter rolls, brown batter banana bread cookies, and brown butter chocolate chip cookies.
>> My question to you about the bread >> Yes.
>> is how long did it take to make sourdough bread before you were actually good at it?
>> 2 years.
>> 2 years?
>> It took me 2 years.
>> So, what do you make besides this? What didn't we get?
>> everything you can think of. Apple pies, peach pies, peach cobbler.
>> And how long have you I've doing Facebook Marketplace?
>> I've made it official for about 7 months now, but I sold in Florida not on Facebook Marketplace, but on the military base.
>> Since you are the last person from the 3 days, is there anything you'd like to say about food being sold on Facebook Marketplace?
>> Make sure you have your license because these people will come after you if you do not.
>> after you?
>> The state department, the health department.
>> come to your house?
>> Yes, they do investigations in your home to make sure it's up to state code.
>> Okay, well then I guess now what I want to know is how do you get a license? How much does it cost and is it easy?
>> I'm in debt a lot of money. It is in total, I want to say set up, health products, everything, a total of $600.
>> So, you guys heard it here. If you want to start selling on Facebook Facebook Marketplace.
>> I would love to help you.
>> Yeah, you have to get a license and Destiny will help you.
>> I'll help.
>> Okay, we're going to try the food. We'll let you know what we think. Um all of her information is right up here.
So, if you guys want to order something, feel free.
>> I also just launched a website so you can also order on a website. It makes it super easy.
>> Thank you, Destiny.
Thank you to all the Facebook Marketplace sellers and uh we're excited to try the bread.
>> Yes.
>> Guys, this right here is like a brownie cinnamon roll, but it looks and smells amazing.
>> Damn.
>> Oh, yeah.
All right, we're going to head home. I'm going to try this bread. We're going to try some of the Nigerian food and we still have to try some of the food from earlier today. All right, guys, we're back at home and remember, we still have the second meal of the day. These are the nachos and this is the Italian soup.
Nachos look pretty banger.
Oh, yeah.
>> Ground beef has some pretty good seasoning and everything tastes very fresh.
>> Damn.
>> Overall, pretty standard nachos, nothing too crazy. I'll give it an 8.3. Here's the Italian soup along with a piece of bread.
Ooh, lot of sausage in here. What a wonderful soup to eat on a nice cold day. Too bad it's June.
Good soup.
>> Really good soup.
>> We'll give the soup an 8.6. Very meaty soup. I think out of everything that she made, probably the sandwich is my favorite.
>> It's time to take a trip all the way to Nigeria. This is the chicken and jollof rice with plantains. This is the egusi soup and this is the fufu.
>> Got to be honest, guys. I'm a little bit nervous about this one. Look at the size of this chicken.
>> [groaning] [laughter] >> Meat, meat, meat, meat, meat.
>> The chicken is cooked perfectly. A lot of seasoning on there.
>> Tastes like mole chicken.
>> Uh I don't know if it tastes like mole.
Chicken is getting a 9.5.
>> Yeah.
>> Now for the rice, it kind of tastes like Mexican rice, but not exactly. I'll give it like a 7.8.
These are the plantains. Ever since I went to Costa Rica and I had the plantains there, I've grown very fond of plantains.
They're just like bananas, but they're a little bit starchier and they're a little bit sweeter. Plantains are excellent. I love these. So, if you guys have not had plantains before, you got to try them. They're really good. Time for the soup. I think this has goat in it.
Yeah, definitely not my first choice.
It's a very unique flavor. I've never had something like this before. I don't know how to explain it. It's a very thick, very flavorful soup. Not really like soup though. It's not like a real soup. My first time having fufu. This is going to be very interesting. It's not bread-like. Imagine like gelatin and mashed potatoes combined. So, you pull off a piece like this. I guess you kind of just smash it into like a little disc and I'm actually going to try it with the rice instead of the soup.
Oh, there you go. Works perfectly.
Oh my goodness. Wow, it really does taste like mashed potatoes. It's like a more glutinous mashed potatoes.
>> Tastes like milo.
>> This doesn't taste like anything.
>> Yeah, the fufu's kind of interesting. It doesn't really taste like anything, but I'm not a fan of the soup, guys. It's just not for me. But the plantains, the rice, and the chicken are fantastic.
Well, you guys now have a local Nigerian plug if you want to try it.
>> the rice. Look at this [music] piece right here. Underneath, you get this.
And then you go over here and you get some rice.
>> I am in critical condition. Too much food has been eaten today. Too much food. I am now in critical condition. I actually just slept for 2 hours.
Um Anita was not lying when she said that food puts you to sleep. Time for a cookie.
>> It's like banana bread.
>> Oh, very interesting. It's like thicker than a normal cookie. It's almost more like a bread.
>> It's cuz she uses sourdough.
>> Oh, they use sourdough cookie. All right, here's the bread that's cut it open. Oh.
Look at this.
All right, this garlic and herb stuff running through the middle.
What a great touch. I like that sourdough. That was some good sourdough.
My house smells like an ethnic kitchen.
Uh we have one more thing to try. So, I think this cinnamon roll is the same one as the one we tried in the car. But, I'm going to heat this one up.
Also, I forgot to try the chocolate chip cookie.
Mhm, these are really good cold. Yeah, definitely a different texture on these cuz these are made with sourdough.
I really need a glass of milk for this.
Now, my fridge is filled with desserts, sandwiches, soups, more cookies. I yeah, I think I'm actually going to eat this before bed though. This has been a very long 3 days. We tried a lot of different food.
3 days of Facebook food. I'm very happy to say I got to try a lot of new different things I would have never tried before if I didn't go to the land of Facebook Marketplace.
Really, the only thing I didn't like was the egusi soup. Everything else I thought was actually really good. If you have a Nigerian tongue, you probably think the soup is good. But, I'm just not used to it. Pretty much highly recommend any place that I got food from. I really hope you guys enjoyed this video. I had a lot of fun making it. More videos coming soon.
