University Dragon Fruit Orchard update

[00:00:05]Hey guys, it's Alec from Nature with Alec. Back to you from beautiful California State Channel Island University, just 20 minutes away from my orchard. And I just came over here to plant more beautiful uh dragon fruit plants to their orchard and check in for the update. As you can see, everything is growing. Everything is getting over the trelluses. That's what I'm happy to see. and uh pretty much doing great.

[00:00:32]Okay, so we had the sugar dragon plant multiple sugar dragon probably three plants. So every every five five containers. So it's very very important for to get the sugar dragon pollen for those who needs pollen. I getting constantly calls from uh people regarding the pollen that they need pollen and I offer them please make sure get ready for the next year get the sugar dragon plant. So, as you can see over here, mature sugar dragon plant that we just planted couple months ago.

[00:01:00]You can see how many branches already.

[00:01:02]It's probably could be by this summer.

[00:01:05]You could push the flowers, you know, for nice pollination and everything. But look how many branches. This is amazing.

[00:01:11]That's how sugar dragon should grow.

[00:01:13]Even they get some damage over here, sun damage. It's first of course after the the greenhouse, you know, they get a little bit stressed, but pushing still pushing the branches. That's what the beauty of the sugar dragon. Okay, American beauty is doing great over here. All the trelluses already. Look how many new branches getting there. So basically I I just remind you. So what we did over here uh we break uh uh right now the one two three four lines we break to the white variety over here. So we have white variety, pink uh pink flesh variety, uh magenta and deep red.

[00:01:50]So over here in the section of the white, we have uh Hana uh with the white flesh, Conire with the white flesh and uh and uh coconut flavor. We got George's white over here. Beautiful plant over here. It's getting over the trelluses as well. We got Vietnam white.

[00:02:10]Okay, we do have Israeli yellow variety.

[00:02:15]Needs variety came from my orchard. need silver variety which gives you up to two pound fruit with white flesh and 22 brick score. We got Brun on this side with same uh sister um of the corny meer. So we got two plants of Brunie little bit damaging but still surviving doing great. And the last one I planted today the yellow palora which which just start rooting right now. A little bit roo of yellow palora we have. Here we go. Okay. And these are the the pink variety. We got the physical graffiti at the end. Still one, two, three, four containers available for new varieties.

[00:02:53]We have the Maria Rosa over here. I just planted today. Uh Maria Rosa. We got delight variety over here. Here's the delight. We have the um uh lever pink variety over here. Beautiful. And uh one more PG over here because I want them to get lots of PG uh plants. It's very good uh producer and it's amazing tasty variety. Okay, in maganda we got the uh the American beauty. We have the lever medusa over here. We have the dark star variety. We have the uh bre over here breed. We have ax with the red flower green skin and nice magenta flesh bono red over here. uh lever red helis comet and one more spot available and then uh deep red variety we got the last one is the sugar dragon son agnashia planted today another sugar dragon over here uh costicansis oh my gosh look at this I just look at the cost is pushing flower butts already that's the beauty of mature plants and we do have those available if anybody's looking for carricinesis variety we field market Costa Rican over here. But definitely get a hold with me.

[00:04:14]I have mature plants that will produce you a flower and fruit this year.

[00:04:18]Another beautiful sugar dragon. Look at this. That's the goal. That's the goal.

[00:04:23]By next year, we're going to have minimum 12 branches and 50 flowers and in April. Okay. So, we got uh Lake Aitlan, which is a deep red uh flesh variety as well. up to two three pound fruit depends on the pollination.

[00:04:40]And then we have the Robas red the famous roblet from Wallace Ranch. It's a amazing variety to grow as well. And uh we got the Lever Donovan Lever over here in this section. And starting again with the sugar dragon. So here we go. So happy to see the success over over here at the at California State Channel Island. students happy. They're already getting on the finals and they're getting break and definitely will somebody will always stay here to monitor the water uh the humidity of the soil and uh we'll keep an eye on the flowers as well. And we got still lots probably 15 more containers ready for students to develop new varieties to do research and enjoy their fruit uh very very soon. So happy to share with you as well guys. [00:06:16]was very successful. We could harvest up to 15 or 20 varieties and taste all of them in the on the table at my orchard.

[00:06:24]Okay. And uh plus shipping boxes as well will be very very soon. We just started the year and this year is much earlier in in April. We're already tons of flowers. My conire has at least 50 or 100 flowers uh pollinated already producing the fruit and uh the uh dark star uh leis tons. I just don't want to go over my previous videos with so many varieties and even the enigma already pushing the button. Unbelievable. We got tons of people asking for Enigma with the cherry flavor and we're rooting right now at least dozen dozen cutings already getting uh rooted.
