Even the most brilliant architect of digital stability cannot patch the vulnerabilities of his own biological hardware. It is a humbling reminder that while code can be refactored, the human body remains the ultimate unoptimized system.

🚀 I got sick. I hate being not 100% 🅴Added:
Welcome everyone uh to another live stream. The show must go on. Yeah, you go to conference and you get some fluish coldish things. Probably a very hard form of men flu. Let's hope I survive this. Drag me into the office after lunch.
Um maybe less talking today because on my throat, man.
I had a pretty long run of not getting sick for many many months actually as you have seen live on this channel.
Um yeah, I was building I I was letting the server build and thanks Chris and welcome Chris and thanks so thanks for your blessings. Um, we only need one. So, let's Yeah, theoretically that that stuff is mostly building. Um, uh, ARM version six is not rusting. Um I wonder why maybe our Yeah, that is the downside of I was already surprised that I don't get sick from frostcon or frostm.
Maybe it's not the conference. Maybe it's [ __ ] weather. I don't know. Um maybe it's I mean to be fair once I had to wait forever for the bus. Once I was standing like 20 minutes because some bus didn't come.
Could also be standing in the windshitty of Yeah. who knows what or or all together.
We will never know. Um I guess we make it shorter today. And uh good day everyone.
This coffee was probably it's my first coffee today.
It wasn't the best idea. tea in the morning and maybe I make my maybe I fill my hot situ again with hot water.
Have you heard about cloud mutos? No, I've not heard about clouds mitos. What is clouds mitos? Is it another Linux distribution?
Is it is it some uh some royal ro what what are they called like dungeons and what what are they called?
Um, Dungeons and Dragons uh what what is it called?
Uh, fantasy uh game.
That reminds me there was once a Lego set, right? An overpriced Lego set. Do they still sell that?
Because it was [ __ ] Hey, wow. They still sell this, but I'm too broke for that.
Nobody wants to pay me. Everyone wants to have free meetings.
Wait, what? Is it the name? Oh, wow. Get it off of 10 euro off. This was already selling for $299. Do I need this? No.
Have I ever played Dungeons and Dragons?
No. Google it.
Do I look like your assistant? You can Google yourself. I'm not in the business of Googling.
You should Google Tulinox. But I can um have you Do you know Tulox? I can help you. can. Yeah, I save you the Googling link. Have you Have you heard about T2 Mutos?
I read Travelers, which was science fiction tabletop like interesting. Um I mean we we played Dashwata or which probably was probably maybe Dashwatza or was that more popular and was it the more popular German thing?
Um hey, I have an idea. We need a code name. How about we code name those muttors, good choice, underrated.
Um, yeah, this I had seen. Yeah, we need we need to debug some things also. 0 AD like new users like 0 AD doesn't build.
Oh, that is so stupid.
Let me boil some hot water and put some although I I think the last time I was the most the last time um Oh, muto myth myth OS. Yes. Yes, sir. Poor lady.
Let me Where's my hot seat stuff? Let me make I thought like due at the end of the day maybe I can drink a coffee but nah what's he choose?
So, Zik term. Uh, what or did I kill that away?
Once I once I remember, I run out of memory and Oh, man. Kill some things away.
Okay, let's see. Um, the thing is what do we even do? I mean, zero ID is not release critical. No. And maybe I killed them.
All this stuff is running a little bit out of memory here. Maybe I should plug in the 64 gigs of more memory that I have in my archive card box here.
How is this? What did viewer have to m good?
All right, we didn't do update yet because we also need to up auto update automate updates.
Unix Pro. I'm at the ending stage of cold as well.
14 days with it. Finally starting to get like dual. I hope I I cannot afford 14 days. I hope I bet I think I do something innovative and go early to bed today.
Already overslept this morning. I was like so done.
Yeah, good to song there too.
14 days, man.
In 14 days of men flu, how do we survive? like 14 days I didn't even had when I had COVID. But to be fair, once I had some really strange cuffing, like a year after COVID, I had once one [ __ ] that really I mean I could work but I mean once I had some coughing indeed like for three weeks where at the end my whole chest was hurting from all the cuffing. Yeah, but otherwise O um why we still humans? Where are the Androids?
Where are the androids Musk and Teal or whoever and man are talking about to upload our brain into and not get ill anymore?
What are all those billionaires doing with their fancy money?
So, um, all right. Update that too.
Uh, okay. Did I finish all of this medicine?
So, we need to release.
All right. We could actually write the release notes.
Yeah, the thing is also we kind of maybe run out of memory here with all the ROS things. They usually consume so much memory.
now at 19 Google.
The thing is I'm not watching this big tech things already for the longest time.
I'm basically completely not interested in big tech anymore. I just do my things here and enjoy my life.
But I mean what we really should do is we should build a much cooler independent ecosystem because Google obviously in the meantime um yeah Google obviously became evil in the meantime.
Are you thrilled for Google?
Like we need to free ourselves from big tech, from the AI overlords.
So, I did rebuild some builds entirely overnight.
Um, right. What we we have some stupid things to investigate.
Um, any opinions about Arch Linux?
No. Why should I? I only use I'm happy since 1998. I'm happy and not dropping anymore.
Why should I? Do you have opinions about T2 Linux here? Here tulinox.com come by the way we have now is a blessed screen things wallpaper background arch might be nice. Arch might arch might be nice but do they even have an RM64 risk titanium alpha power PC or any other super age power P3? Sony please PlayStation 3 you all with your fancy dro hopping just stop dro hopping better tell me what's your favorite Linux distribution why it is T2 Linux that would be much more interesting okay let's build here on other systems why is this still bloody loading's repository fetching also becomes slow every Okay, give you mercy.
We I give you mercy when you switch to T2. You know, install T2 listed will try a daily driver on the laptop. That is amazing. Let us know what's not amazing.
Okay, so zero idea is super stupid.
Welcome.
What do you mean? I hope you did not get fired today.
I hope that's not what you're saying. Or do you mean in the past? Once upon a time.
Um, also this sounds horrible.
Oh, come on. Why is this stuff so slow?
Okay, why this stuff is building? Let's take a look. Um, we have here multiple issues. The one issue is that also I think it's swapping to desk now.
I feel already the latency and when the latency is so high then it's swapping here gabytes a second.
I mean, this doesn't even look that much.
The problem is that I have here ARM and risk five. Um, I should kind of not have them here. Um, Let's move them to storage and 28th of February already. That's I'm so sorry. I wish I would have spare jobs currently. I need to grow my own job first to hire more people again.
how things like BIOS can be loaded into the hardware.
BIOS can be loaded. So BIOS is in flash chips. It's in permanent storage.
Historically the BIOS was just living off in it's it historically it wasn't loaded. Historically it was just there here.
Historically the BIOS lived in an EPROM here. This one that was historically the BIOS.
It was just programmed in there read only memory. It was directly executed from that. It wasn't loaded.
The CPU started executing course. Still today every CPU starts executing at some known reset vector and there you you will make make it so that your permanent storage is there.
Modern CPUs loaded serial from serial EPROM though modern CPUs probably do some verification with some crypto key most likely that some AMD bless Aiza stuff is probably cryptographically signed at least I would if where I have AMD but you never know what the big tech companies Right. This is funny.
Where is this? Is not ARM version six.
Believe me is [ __ ] Where is my It's a wrong wrong debug thing here.
Um then the two things we need to actually check with the edit tier thin provisioning stuff. Strangely, we have some strange build for build build error.
What have they done here?
Look, because they check you for thin provisioning.
Why the [ __ ] do they do that? Welcome, Level One. Appreciate this. You mentioned things like Power PC. How on earth is it maintained?
I can't get what what you mean older hardware. eBay is full with older hardware. I mean, it's probably got a little bit more expensive, but I mean, I purchased my stuff 15 years ago. But um I mean I have hardware, Chris has hardware, everyone else has hardware. And I mean sometimes it depends where you are like where are you? USA, you Europe haven't had a flu for a minute.
Haven't had the flu for a minute.
What do I mean for a minute?
Um, so yeah, we test this also like power. You can get a cheap PS3, right?
So here they that is here the problem.
Um, so they do have thin provisioning internal and I don't like that.
So they created here circular dependency of thin provisioning needed.
This is this is so silly. So, I'm not hallucinating this. I also don't understand why this projects constantly do that. I mean, we could build it twice.
I mean, then we need to do stupid things just because upstream projects do stupid things. I so hate this. Um, what the heck is that?
They only support internal or none.
What the [ __ ] Um, do they mean this other thing is not completely obsolete or what?
Yeah, I got here some men flu. and all this stuff where men feel horrible and horrible sick and women always tell it's nothing honey just go to work earn some money it's probably fine stop crying so much it's like this kind of stuff um yeah I don't know if it's just [ __ ] weather or from like yeah you go to some Linux meetup and you you get sick. But I will see tomorrow how like yeah I mean of course I'm not quite dead yet.
It's only like some 37.5 and feeling like [ __ ] and stuff. It's the usual men flu stuff.
But I hate I hate that immediately doesn't make me 10x engineer anymore when I feel like [ __ ] Um, what do we do with the things?
Look. Um, oh, they even have internal device mapper. Are they drunk?
What the [ __ ] is wrong with this project? They internalize lip device mapper.
I hate this time wasting time. It was all working. Um, and then they need to What's your job, sir? Software developer. Uh, things, computer scientist.
What do what did you think my job is?
Actually, my official title is CEO here. Just some CEO level.
Um, you wanted CO2. Of course you do.
Um, it's my job.
CEOing things here. LVM thin men page lip thin kin.
The right thing would be to test this in a VM.
Happy to see that you found our channel CEO of LLM coding. What do you mean LLM?
Why do people continuously mention here LLM things when we don't do LLM things?
Maybe we need both.
Look, because this does not have cash check.
So maybe we need both because future because for months we have this stupid build error. Oh 17.
But even that is because it's even that is a circular dependency because even this still keeps checking for cache check.
I don't do Python or finance domain. I guess by reading manuals and of experience with Nixo.
Why should I? I'm happy with Tulinox.
Each time I try other things, I'm hugely disappointed. Yes, the toolings is not perfect, but have you seen NIPS?
I only seen other high-profile developers this weekend who told me building Linux kernel on their Nvidia DGX or whatnot. Spark thing takes over 1 hour on Nixo when it takes 10 minutes on T2 Linux. So, I I don't know what I should use Nixo as like everything I've seen from Nixo was annoying.
I don't know why. Sure, we can improve.
We certainly should improve, urgently improve dark areas of T2's past, but doesn't mean that I I also really don't understand.
Ah, this is probably just pre-building because doesn't have LVM here. Maybe because we deleted them.
I also don't understand why you guys constantly is it not already known that I run my own Linux distribution? Why do you guys all come here and ask me other Linux distributions?
How often do I need to say that I'm not interested in other Linux distribution?
But the other question is actually testing in which way? So you're a regular T2 user and just want to have Nixos on camera.
You look like Linux good to others with black terminal.
What do you mean? That is Is that not the default how to operate a computer?
I thought that was the default interface for computer systems.
Actually, what's this 9950X3D doing?
So, I ordered one, but not two. I'm not that rich.
I made a I made a I made a sea level executive decision that any percentage of improvement is good for me. So, I ordered one on Monday. I hope it arrives tomorrow maybe from tomorrow. Slightly faster builds, but social like subscribe membership and stuff to refinance.
He wants you what? How to improve things code more? He wants you to use Visual Studio Code. Greetings to San Diego.
Hope you have a wonderful day. Another wonderful day in paradise. Um, what do you mean? He wants you to use Visual Studio. Who? Who wants me?
I don't see anyone wanting me to Visual Studio.
Um, look, because Oh, wait. LVM2 is actually in there. Why do we have cling in there?
Is that not O for rust soft stuff? Maybe I don't know but let's better remove that for a moment.
Um curl whatever maybe cargo. Okay. The build time the system is just fully loaded. Um and curses.
Okay, maybe I should copy and paste this not with typos.
What is with this thing?
So yeah, this is also some new issue that is a parallel build issue, but I don't know where this uni code version thing is coming from. I tried to find this out already this morning from bed and I was feeling too shitty to even get out of bed this morning.
T2 is for like try to team two, technology 2, everything too. I usually try to watch the stream but I just usually have no idea what is happening.
Always feel like we're just trying to get things to build. Yeah, small things like all the distributions do this, right? This is why it's important that um we reduce the numbers of distributions. 25,500 is not scalable.
Don't delay. Switch to to Linux.
Obviously, switch to one of the original source distributions, the only one that still supports everything. Um, and invite other people to share like all the distri That's that's what all the Linux distributions do all day. Like developers at Redhead, like IBM pays Redhead developers $200,000 a year to work like that. Um so like yeah you update something you add something and yeah you analyze strange things. Um here in this point LVM2 is a Linux logical volume management version two things because initially there was to no one's surprise there was an incompatible Linux logical volume management that was totally different and then people said like this stuff is [ __ ] we need to rewrite it completely.
So it was completely rewritten as usual in Linux every other decade or two. Um I tried to grab this. Um actually the thing is I didn't instantly find here makes sense 42 use LVM 2. Uh well we support it optionally right by default it's not being used but I mean so the problem is not LVM2 the problem is that the sin provisioning stuff doesn't just build anymore. You update some stuff and after like and before you tell me then don't update stuff. I mean eventually we need to update stuff and this sin provisioning I ignored for months. For months you have seen me touching this look and just skipping over that. But at the end of the day eventually if you want to be a professional distribution all the details need to work. Welcome. No own override.
That is why don't tell me don't update as much because this I ignored for months and it's um at the end of the year eventually we um need to make it work anyway.
So this is ICU 4C. But why?
Um it appears to me that this this somehow indirectly includes and I maybe I shouldn't have shut it down.
Thought I built this this morning from bed when I was feeling even more feeling like even more [ __ ] Um the PS, right?
I thought I did this already this morning and I4C was not automatically in there which is a little bit strange unless I did something stupid.
That was a keyboard. Yeah. Why is that not bloody getting in there? Um, before you wonder why do I spend so much time with the thin provisioning, I use this in production and um, obviously we should at extra code we should build it too. so that we actually can use it in production. Right? So our data center is using uh LVM caching like the LBM caching needs this to check the cache.
I learned that the hard way. Um, what was the file? It wanted view version.
Why does this bloody not catch? I don't understand.
I mean, it's correct. not in there. But Um, oh here, here it's used.
There is some other use. There is some other code path that makes use of that.
How the dust track if used should always.
Why does it only use it sometimes?
But here it checks for ICU 4C. Is it a sub project or what?
Am I looking at the wrong package? Am I blind? Lip PSL. Why does it not happen in a native build?
It's not in here.
What?
There even the same package.
Lip PSL.
Lip PSL.
Someone see here.
What the heck is going on here?
I mean I could just add the there opt I see you forc and calling it a day.
Do you work out noticed on the videos that you sometimes take deep breaths?
Mental burnout.
You have funny questions.
You know, membership and super thank tremendously, but it's it's not in here.
That is bizarre. Is this some subconfigure?
Did there have it?
Oh, because it has because I not ICU 4C but also it has maison and configure.
Which one do we even run?
Enable runtime.
What the heck is that doing? Enable runtime.
Lip ID or lip ICU.
What curs stuff?
H maybe because it doesn't have lip IDM2. I'm going to try the other I mean theoretically or need to implement it soon.
Did I even name that correctly? Oh yeah, I did.
Um, yeah, theoretically I have adding support for must have one or the other on my to-do. Best sh like subscribe so that I need to breathe less heavily for signs of mental burnout.
It's so funny that people propose me here to exercise more instead of super thinking or membershiping but okay boomer.
Um, did we do ICU? No, we didn't. Um because the other thing is also I think you have mason and configure vun both.
It is a possibility and not good. I thought so already.
Um, my My bad.
So thin provisioning tools. Does that even build?
Um because I kept touching the log file for what is the build even doing? Is this done?
What did we want to do?
thin provisioning tools.
Super long name. Um then here is my citrus stuff.
No matching thin provisioning.
Oh, there. Wait, what?
Ah, with a dash.
Of course, totally not in long package names.
It's funny how people rather lecture me on my exercising routine but don't have a dollar for membership.
That tells me you're not really caring about my mental health or time for actually this build here.
Um, there is still something dependencywise that just a What's QT base here doing? Power PC builds for everything except that. Why would that be? Static assertion fails of is always log free.
Cool.
Chrono milliseconds is not always lock free kernel cute test support core.
Oh, holy [ __ ] man.
So, what does it mean? QT does not build for 32-bit architectures anymore.
You cannot make this [ __ ] up. What are those troll trolls thinking?
How we just remove this assertion line 13 asserts that this instantiation of atomic is always lock. So we know that no good will destruction reduce the default.
QT7 reduce the default.
How many more of those would we? I mean, first it needs to build. What we do is then is some other thing.
I don't really care about lights, but thank you for your question.
Maybe not too bright and not too dark.
Uh, keep the rest.
What do you mean keep which rest?
Hey, it's fixed upstream.
I love you always looking that up.
Oh, the fix is bloody delete.
fixed by remove assertion.
Um, that's somehow not really really the really like did they not assert that for a reason? Like this is strange lowquality engineering like this is pretty redneck engineering.
I mean if they wanted to assert it for some reason like just deleting that is somehow But what should I say? Should I be surprised?
Welcome not feel like [ __ ] Hope you're doing better. Fixed by removing assertion. Yes. Best fix probably. Let let me guess a junior developer like a new aspiring junior developer head to LLVM vibe code bed with cloud muto. Is that what they did there?
Um, so this ARM version 6 stuff is still not happy.
Device create def mapper things wasn't found. Wonderful.
Uh, oops.
There we go. Welcome to level three.
That's that's the support we're talking about. Oh, did we even set a goal today?
Yeah, today will be short. I will like I just go to bed. It's like this is basically we need to get some stuff done. Um Um yeah, I was skeptical about like after co I didn't really want to get ill too often. I mean, who likes to get ill? Um, I was I was skeptical with last year's Frostcon and Fostam. I was surprised that didn't catch anything there, especially Fostam that was still nearly quite winter.
But yeah, I mean, I was super long, not ill, like maybe nearly a year or whatn not. Um, so much to my exercising routine. Um yeah, but just catching something in your home tone, having a home conference, it's peak unluck. But I guess once a year the human body needs to go from men flow to train the immune system.
Wow. Um what's that here? Mesa also doesn't pen frost compiler not found good that we tested. Um thank you note. Um what do you do at your day job? Just the the usual running a company. uh sea level executive things, shouting at people, firing people, hiring people, telling people what to wipe code, uh going golfing, flying private jet, but that was a joke.
Um and coding um like just like Larry Ellison, you know, shouting, coughing.
Um why do we not have should this not pen frost here? Why did this not pen frost?
Um, how do I start a company? Have something to company and go register at GABA.
Um, best have something to sell. I our start was super difficult because we were too young and had too few too little network and nobody wanted to pay for open source things.
So your interactive human language model maybe not not not sure what's it um oh maybe maybe we didn't or do we free but there is two worlds H.
Oops.
tool sings.
H Does it have a pen frost tool?
These are [ __ ] always choices drivers tools. Yeah, they have pen frost here.
Wait, was a power eight?
Power eight does nothing. Just a boot breakage. What do those people take, man? Um, power eight option. You can't make they delete like all the all the good stuff. They delete because cut maintain but they have a random power eight option in there.
This is sorted asfg.
Um good that we test this.
Yeah. A comment now. Should we have here fully autograded CI system running 24/7?
Is this the next step? Do you want that?
Do you want like get actions of autob buildinging every architecture commit thing?
Should we into invest into that? Um happy to hear that. This is amazing. I like it too.
Um, okay. Here, like we make some progress.
Look, mom, we make some progress.
Um, oh my nose. I hate this. Why did God create humans so that they get constantly ill? Oh, wait. Was there something with paradise?
[ __ ] Why did they have to eat the forbidden fruit 10,000 million thousand years ago?
So, uh we found some random thing thin provisioning thing is still not fully working.
Okay. Ma is mine. Um getting close to release.
Uh what is that thing here? What is what is Oh, you know what that is? Big Indian. Um damn it. What's big Indian failing LD returned? What's LD returning?
Instantiation of required here. XP global pum.
Damn it. Why is this always failing?
No seller put zero. Wait. Oh, wait. This is probably some other error.
Uh, I hate that this is so shittily visible.
Where is even the error?
Man, I hate this.
Where is the LD error hiding?
Why do we still have build systems? Like we have 10,000 gazillion build systems.
And if you want to read the error, you don't see the error.
Oh, there's also still assembly suitable to crash. But yeah, that's that I I hate this waste of time menu. I mean, first of all, constantly breaking [ __ ] and then you don't even when you want to fix it, you don't even see the error. I hate this time wasting [ __ ] Oops.
I had this somehow scroll locked.
Damn it. Um for fetal.
No, I maybe just touched it. Huh? Which build was it?
Here somewhere.
Was it even this one?
Oh, wait. The build set again. That probably fails.
The sad thing is not that I ordered a 1950X3D.
Now I'm already disappointed that it will not be that much faster.
But it's a econom that's it's it's a um it is a cheap uh affordable that is a economical uh decision.
I need a little bit more performance and um the other one is just too overpriced and until the price comes down. It takes six months and um very bloody product here is that's the wrong one though. Oh, wait. I wanted this one.
Yeah, I'm not buying that for Yeah, it's nearly 300 bloody euro. Yeah. I mean, no, but I mean, for two, three% maybe faster. It's like hell no.
Yeah, it is what it is. You're just cheap.
Um, where is Ma?
Where is What was it? Arm. Which build is that even?
Okay, let's What was that here? Ah, that was also ARM actually.
Welcome Linux power.
How do you know so much? I'm doing that for 25 years.
Where can I find YUbuntu source code? I have no idea. Do I look like I use Yubuntu?
I can tell you where you find Tulinu source codes. It's the only thing that matters anyway. Nothing else matters, right? Already Nirvana did know that.
Here's Tulux. Why would you need YUbuntu? I don't understand.
Um, you recognize YUbuntu developers because they use Mac OS to develop the YUbuntu.
I heard allegedly here I have I have a new wallpaper here.
here. t2inox.com by the way, right? I I'm fancy. I made a wallpaper now.
Um I even chat in our Discord in case you wanted to use it.
Yep. Everyone else could have patched that, but it required us to find that if someone wants homework. Um, nice wallpaper. Yes, Linux. Um, power. By the way, are you on our Discord? I think you were right.
Switching to D2 Linux on my laptop because it's AMD based. It is amazing. I hope you enjoy it. Then uh let me close some window because not getting fresh.
Um, is Nex still here or any other code developer? Foxtrot Metig Kug.
Um, 2017. Yes, I know that you are on Discord since day one. That is amazing.
I know you were here. I just didn't know if you're on Discord. Um, so that's of course just an ASA picture and theoretically we can use it. We I I don't know which maybe we probably should put here like if we chip that because my question if no tech and are here we probably should use SV made in Europe with love and without LLM hallucination things Linux distribution at least mostly made without LLM hallucinations probably should ship European themed um things right if not is still here like should we like make this a 20 I mean It's probably as good as a screenshot as we get. Um, that's nice stems and signs and stuff and European telescope things. I guess we put their small photo copyright credit ether into the right corner that usually is clipped off and ship it, I would say. Huh.
Do you enjoy playing any video games?
Not really.
Video games for edules are like so this this might be controversial probably like a thousand people instantly unfollow.
Change my mind but video games for edules are a complete waste of time.
Like unless you maybe once a week play one hour but like that is yeah do yeah you get so much more done in your life like video games is the most expensive and wasteful and procrastination in human history. men, go out, build an off-grid cabin, build a house, uh, find a girl or men, or if you want, you can marry or whatnot, settle down, do some cool things. But men, here we have open source things.
Appreciate this.
Um, I barely game video gamed. I the last time like I video game when I was like eight and stuff, but the I I hated most PC games. probably it helped me not to become video game addicted that PC games were complete [ __ ] when my father had for some month a 286 which I recently learned was borrowed from our neighbors. I didn't know that. I always wondered why we had like some month a 286 and then we had a 386 but the 386 we knew the 386 we drove together to Hanover and purchase it and built it ourselves um in the basement uh when I was like maybe eight or whatever. Um, and hey, initially we didn't even had color, right? Initially we had a monochrome display. I'm pretty sure I think we got VGA later or or or or we had a VGA card and monochrome monochrome display. I don't remember. But also initially we didn't have a hard drive, right? Initially we only had like we had the luxury of two floppy drives. Um, our first hard drive we only got later like maybe when I'm 10 or whatever. Um, that was 40 megabyte and 40 megabyte like some Seagate SD whatnot. Um probably not even IDE. I think I have it here in the office. Well, I think it's RLL or whatnot. Um and um binary file matches things use what? And so probably it saved me like probably I got into programming because like all the video games were just like [ __ ] We had like we had like and we still have like I took some video games to the office. I have here um two two disc boxes, but my father still has more in the basement.
Um actually one I wonder if if the discs that are still my parents' basement if they survive because they're in the in the heating room together with like they in shelves next to each other with like like painting things like uh like acetone and stuff. I wonder if that's even good for the floppies of like nothing like destroying your pirated 80s game collections that were [ __ ] already in the 80s with some chemical things next to it.
Anyway, um yeah, like this IBM cat games, those elite cat and stuff. I so hated this. Like the melody sucked, the sound sucked. I mean, there were some good games, but probably could count them in one one hand or two.
Um, yeah. What do you do if computer games suck? Like you just get into programming and try to program better ones yourself. That certainly helped.
Um, going to the computer laboratories at your universe.
See, what I'm still not sure fully understands the idea of playing video games without I I nearly never have been to an arcade though. But um Oh, here probably this range thing. Is is this the same is this the same 32-bit thing that we just patched for like is this assertion static assertion Q test core stuff of failing or like yeah this is quality company engineering right like what continuous integration do they have that they maybe build most 32-bit builds like that's just crazy Um, I mean, I don't know how to even name this here. It's like theoretically we have we have support for maybe we could even conditionally patch that away on all arch 32 but I don't want to try this. I don't know if we have support for this in the patch thing. What is crazy is all of this stuff was building recently. And so that is a shocking thing. We develop for months. We make everything totally amazing and then we build some architectures that we don't use daily and they break like this. It's like I'm shocked. Maybe I shouldn't.
Yeah, I I'm like a cades were Yeah, I've never been in in an arcade actually really.
Um, probably I mean a cate I don't I don't even know how big a things were in Germany, but probably also because I was teached from very early that this gambling stuff is a waste of addictive waste of money. That is why being teached it's addictive waste of money. I mean uh yeah actually ironically when I was super young like maybe eight or 10 like our neighbors had some gambling machine in the basement and once they asked my father like I didn't even know I only know because once like so they they just I guess played themselves. I don't know like probably the old men there, our neighbor, the old man was probably just sitting there sometimes drinking a beer and putting coins in there or whatnot in his basement. Anyway, I don't know what I know like one one day the neighbor rang at us because my father is electrician and it's like uh yeah here if you don't mind like asking my father do can you look at this thing there like it's just some I wonder where like this were actually relatively poor people too. I wonder where he even got this. If he has stolen this or was thrown away. I have no idea. Anyway, so yeah, when I was eight, I was like watching my father me measuring some like good old 80s German gambling slot machine thing in our neighbor's basement.
It's like to repair. So, hey, it's like that's that's the most context actually.
And then when I was 16, our first job was actually as I said the other day, my friend and I, we were we were actually writing uh editing and simulation software for Kazino Blink and Lights there in Hanova.
But that's as most as contact I got with like so they this company where we coded for for one project our first commercial project they were selling they they were modifying and selling blink and lights equipment for casinos that was a business in the 90s apparently probably good business I guess.
Um, video games in Berlin in the late 70s, early 80s. Where is a video either?
That's was before my time. Also, I wasn't I was not growing up in Berlin.
I mean, in a way, it is kind of gambling, right? Although actually the arcade stuff you don't even you do you earns there or something? Probably not.
It's just you pay for playing.
But to be honest, I think I've also nearly never seen an arcade thing in West Germany. I mean, I was also not actively looking for that, but I didn't I didn't need more gaming than going to my one neighbors that had an Super Nintendo and going to my other neighbors who had an Omega 500.
Like, between going to my neighbors, I was not really looking for.
Ironically, I think I don't remember me ever wanting an AmIGGA. Um, the funny thing is because like my neighbors could not program and they were only playing on the Amigga, I did not even take the amigga seriously. For me, Amigga was like a game console like an super SNES.
It never occurred to me of wanting an Amigga because like I was programming a 386 at home.
So that is why for me amigga never was like a programmable personal computer thing.
Um, which is actually good thing because Amigga went bankrupt and imagine I would have invested into learning motor 68k assembly and amigga kernel programming.
That would have would have been a waste of time.
Um, but that's in Americas, right? You you said Americas. I only have seen cheap gambling things where drunk and smoking people were hanging out and like I've I've only seen cheap slot machine like in Germany the I basically only have seen cheap dirty smoky drinking poor people slot gambling.
Um but all the other Germans here please correct me how many. But the the thing is in every small village there was some bar that had slot machine gambling [ __ ] where usually all the unsuccessful Huma Simpsons were hanging around and I never went in or my friends and family and stuff. This was also 18 plus I guess. I mean, obviously, um, but I've never seen an arcade. Like, so while every small town or village even had such a thing, I've probably nearly never seen an aade, but all the other Germans, please correct me with there.
But yeah, so uh, we used to have poker a kid game in your house. Clue where it came from. Grandparents were pretty poor. So we have no clue where it came from. Was it in which country is that in also Germany or US or I mean I understand sometimes I mean the crazy thing is I have also one I mean I have some crazy stories. They were like I knew someone from school um like from friend of a friend like that that was really about many corners. This family was ultra poor. Like really really really poor. Like there the the father was some completely unsuccessful Homer Simpson loser. Like like really completely drinking, smoking, nothing loser. And the the the mother had to earn the money going cleaning everywhere. But like so this guy that I only knew like some next village I knew only this school and this friend and this and like so they told me like do you know this this guy there? It's like no who is that? like he had the hool his hool like so they were super ultra poor right like like probably one of the poorest I've ever nearly ever seen but his like so this this guy's in our age room was full with computer gear like full he had everything this must all be stolen right you cannot tell me like I don't know I I did not even ask like I was there like maybe three times like so I mean it's not like I hang I like to hang out at like basically Huma Simpsons like home where like everything is dirty, full with [ __ ] and stuff. We were like maybe they're like my my best friend like my best programming friend and I like maybe we were like three times or whatnot there and like this guy this father this was like I mean at least Simpson is funny like this this father was like absolutely disgusting.
This was one of the worst I mean okay this I want to say this was one of the worst human beings I've ever met like okay but there's also Trump and Putin so and Elon Musk and stuff but like so this guy was really awful like this father was just shouting around and this was absolutely crazy family um we only went there three times because like he had all the computer gear like so why why so this family was ultra poor but he this guy had a pensium right when I was still sitting in my normal middle class family stuff. I was sitting with my father 386.
He had already a Pantheon. Like, how did they get that right? And he had a Newton method pet. Like, this this guy was the first time I've seen a Newton me message pet or whatnot. 1996 or whatnot. I mean, you cannot tell me this parents, they must have stolen this stuff everywhere.
Like, it is impossible that they got it from anywhere else and fallen off. But yeah, I mean, he had a CD like probably was the first time I've seen a CD ROM.
like it's not like normal like but yeah that is so crazy like yeah so yeah I've seen so that's because that why we why did we went there that was the only guy like the poorest family the only guy who had a pantheon a CDROM um Newton message pad and so we went there two or three times to look on some fancy computer gear um I think he had Star Wars like the Star Wars game on CDROM like where my my friend like my friend had 46 with his father, we had a 386 and this this poor guy had a Pantheon and uh like we were doing VGA optimization things and stuff. Um, and we my my friend and I we were like we used to VGA like hardware low-level hardware acceleration demo programming things and and then seeing the Star Wars movie game like whatever the name of the the first seed ROM game where you fly there through canyons and whatnot and my friend and I it's like mouth open of like holy [ __ ] what Pentium can what graphic Pentium can do. But yeah, that is so crazy. I mean, yeah. I mean, and that's people like, "Have you seen the crime these days in German?" Like, dude, I have seen crime and I was 16. I've seen crime in Germany. The poorest people like I don't even want to know in which companies all those things were missing from. Yeah. I I don't know who I mean, I'm only suspecting, but he had so much like my father was electrician and we didn't had so much. And my father collected broken [ __ ] Like so we had some broken [ __ ] that people have thrown away but not like it's not like my father would have stolen completely working Pentium computers somewhere anyway.
So it's like bra no was this this was next to a Nova. Um yeah but that was crazy. Um yeah some things were crazy. Um like like this this was crazy. So what's this build doing? Libra Office not liberating for ARM anymore. Libra. But what does see Libra office on ARM version 6?
Um, this is just like some Why do we not have that thing here?
Maybe I do this later and go home, though. I'm really feeling like I need uh I need some rest and recover and hope better. Rebel assault war things. Welcome. Yeah, rebel assault sounds about it. Yes.
Welcome trip trap. We were just speaking about poor people with their fancy pantheonss and rebel assault on my to-do list to do some video rework things. It's all on the title since it's all video.
Yeah, let's hope it's Yeah, not ideal that I went to the office today, but hey, I was only half day here today. Um, let's hope I better tomorrow. What bills do we have here?
700 stuff off. Um we we could check but no we deleted this. Do we still see? Yeah, here this one set of is this enabled for why would that for everything else it builds except ARM? Why was always such things happening?
Um that's enabled. H and the thin provisioning tools is still also def mapper things. This somehow doesn't cross compile with rust I guess.
Fun things.
Yeah. I mean but despite sitting with the pensium that was of course completely miserable. I have completely small house dirty completely crazy parents shorting the whole day. was yeah certainly not unhappy life for him.
Um yeah so don't don't be such parents and stuff and people um last story as we today I spoke with this K remember this Karen from downstairs who shorted the electricity twice since I once played even the audio here like she also she shorted the not she her moonlighting gusta biters also shorted the mains illegally meter removed twice, right? Cutting electricity off of my business here twice in a distance of four weeks for those who remember. And since then, like she totally freaked out there in the corridor, shouted at me. I was only looking what's going on with electricity, especially the second time again, right? And she shouted with me like how dare I look there around and stuff like totally freaked out.
probably the recurring subscribers since then like since October when it was like she did not greet me once like this woman always like I was like hello good day good morning good morning right and she always staring at the wall right it's like what is this and even with my son like and even with this like she has three daughters or whatnot the daughters greet me and she staring at the wall right and even with my with My son, my I my son say hello.
The the girl says hello and she Anyway, this was this people and today today I said more. It's like today it's like I dragging me a half ill like half dying up the stairs and it's like yeah uh good and yeah good good day and she says nothing as usual right I wanted for weeks I wanted to say more so I said how are you doing and then she completely freaked out again did you come down again with your electricity it's like excuse me and so she she walked down and all the way down she was talking to herself.
It's like you freaked out so much as it's like holy [ __ ] But how I mean I've done nothing to her. She I mean also I probably mentioned she's she her illegally moonlighting workers even didn't install rubber ceiling in the water pipes. How do I know? She now she I I think I mentioned this. Additionally to the two power outages of the whole building here, she also caused the water like her moonlighting people caused the water damage.
Um at thankfully not us others and oh and even and even she caused two times of water damages. This is so crazy. She cost her moonlighting gustaba bit has cost you so much damage in her super long loud renovation and she does not greet me anymore.
She caused two water damages. One her construction workers must have spoiled so much [ __ ] down the toilet that below her the toilet overflow with [ __ ] And that must have been from her or I think it's even determined that it is from her. I I think they even they told me they got their cement and bricks out of the toilet or whatnot. And additionally this moonlight and gusta biters forgot a rubber ceiling or one or multipl of I don't know because additionally to the toilet overflowing below her she also caused water damage on the ceiling of freshwater things because her moonlighting people did not install it.
It's like that's also so funny how like she she explained it to others. I I only know because I was standing there. She told the neighbor, "Yeah, my construction workers unfortunately did not install it according to German standards." It's like according to German standards, aka with rubber ceiling in between the pipes there. It's like it's like but she doesn't greet anyone anymore. It's like it's so crazy people like why are people so crazy? I don't understand this. I mean if I wouldn't speak with her anymore but like I try to have good relations with everyone. uh say hello each day and for for what is it now for nearly half a year she's only looking at staring at the wall when I pass on the stairs it's man people why are people so what is what is wrong with humankind I don't understand anymore um how dare you fix electricity we he didn't fix it uh we only called electrician um that was she burned 80m fuses the she burned no not she her her probably moonlighting not Germanspeaking gusta biters burned 80 amp main fuses in the basement twice. That is how and so normally of course you have your switchboard and meter in your apartment and whatever 16 amp or whatnot fuses or probably I don't even know how many. Anyway, and that only happened because they already illegally removed the meter, which I've seen. Actually, I have a photo because when I walked around here figuring out why we don't have electricity, thankfully the door was open. So, actually, I made a photo of her meter being removed. So, how did they mention this? They illegally removed the meter, which is like you're not allowed to remove your meter. And I have a photo with her meter removed. And like the the wires hanging out of the wall where they illegally removed the meter, which you can you're not allowed to just remove yourself.
and then removing the meter illegally. I mean, obviously they shorted a face there. It's like twice. It's like if you if you manage this once is already bad enough, but like twice.
Okay, so I better go. Uh, stories of my life. Crazy stories here. It's like, yeah, but the the crazy thing is even despite she freaking s out like a Karen from from Twitter, I say for 6 months, hello.
I mean, she cost you all the damage and it's not like this is so [ __ ] up and such neighbors you have, right?
Surrounded by idiots. It's It's crazy.
What camera do I use? That camera, that's my old Sony something. Alpha 5,00 or something. I was initially I was live streaming with a Lumix G70, but I still have that here. That's a little bit overkill. Um, I don't live stream with this more anymore because my uh my Chinese AliExpress uh power supply like fake battery power supply burns through after two years or so. Um, I still need to somehow repair this failed power supply with battery replacement.
Battery replacement power supply for the Lumix G7. Um, thankfully this failing power supply did not destroy the Lumix.
It was would have been pretty expensive because it's way more fancy than this Sony.
But, um, it's good that it happened because I finally switched to the Sony.
That's much better. Although the kip the the quality is not as good, especially low light. I mean, it's it's super super tiny compact camera. Um, that is actually better set up for me to have the G70 for more um AAA primary A-roll stuff.
If you aren't officially electrician, you moonlight SN what welding for blackbite. Who you moonlighting people? I mean people who are not being paid on a payroll but that you uh illegally with all taxes and official certification and invoice and stuff just under the table give some money. That's called moonlighting.
Moonlighting is if you're not an official registered company and just pick pocket pocket the money with without paying taxes and health insurance and unemployment insurance and all the other uh things.
Um yeah, often these people do not like as seen here like at her moonlighting everything also like I would in general not recommend this because honestly I've seen so much moonlighting in my life in Germany, in Spain, in France. Um or I I have seen moonlighting in Moscow. Holy [ __ ] Like in Moscow, I've seen the worst. Like one guy once asked me um when I was in Moscow like can I look he brought a new like computer it he brought a new apartment in Moscow 12 years ago when I while last last was in Moscow. It's like can I could I have a quick look my uh everyone knows that I know electrons. Can I take a quick look into his electric switch board thing there? uh fused box thing like this was the biggest spaghetti I've ever seen. I was like like they they I don't know the I don't know the Russian electric electrical code. I think it's I think the Russian electrical codes the official electrical code is probably similar to the German one I guess. Like holy [ __ ] I've never seen a garbage installation like this.
Every wire had a other random color.
They they used absolutely no color code.
like every like they used every they must have used every random spare wire like all the faces were like all rainbow colors like nothing was nicely lay out like it was a completely spaghetti mess.
I open this it's like yeah that's probably the reason um unfortunately I think you want to redo and completely close the door so I have a flight later have a good day. It's like that's unfixable. It's like, yeah. Um, sorry.
Sorry, not sorry. That's that's not um Yeah, I've seen sh such a crap. Um that it's it's ridiculous.
Um and just like downstairs, right, at this lady like the water completely disaster like two water things, uh electricity um shorted twice like mains. Like never in my life have I ever met anyone seen shorting mains behind a illegally removed electricity meter. Like that's just something that doesn't happen. And if you have if you pay uneducated people for moonlighting your [ __ ] that's what you get. two times shorting the building's 80 amp main fuses in the basement and setting two apartments underwater with from from the ceiling and from the toilet. It's it's ridiculous.
Okay, long story no short. Um so um what's going on here? Oh, cool.
That's also failing. For for what reason is that failing? Um why is everything failing so much? Um con compile. Oh, ARM version stuff plus neon. I regularly remember that.
Um where do we have that in Rust?
Should I wanted to go home and go to bed? My throat hurts so much already again.
Um why is this not recognized? Should this not be recognized?
Also, we kind of should map this to ARM version.
What do we have in there in ARM optional features?
Right. I think we needed plus ARM. Why did I even What What do we even have in there?
Yeah. Stories of my life, man.
That's why I need my lawn offrid cabin.
Kevin cabin without meter and electricity must be like this penalty for it. Now, they didn't want to they didn't want to they didn't remove the meter to steal it. Although I heard about this in the newspaper, there are some people who did that according to newspapers. They mostly didn't do that to steal. Although probably they stole electricity during the renovation, but they mostly did this because they did a complete renovation after 17 years. 70 years. So they they purchased that um and that's a 70-y old building. So they mostly removed this to renovate the wall and stuff. But it still doesn't mean you can just remove the meter like so they they removed the meter to sparkle and polish the wall and stuff and but nonetheless that's still not how how you do it. Um especially not as illegally moon as an illegal alien moonlighting that [ __ ] Yeah.
Must be so illegal alien alien that they didn't even speak German. And how do I know? They I tried to ask them when the electricity went out and I was walking down to the basement. I met them and I asked them what happened and they're like do okay. What happened in English?
Okay. What what language do you speak?
Turkish. Okay. Wonderful. Thank you very much. Um Turkish.
Um yet probably need probably need to learn Turkish now to speak with all the moonlighting neighbors here and say legal renovation. So um ARM version 6 optimization things.
The question is yeah 20 2026 you need to 2025 you need to learn Turkish.
Um, what do we do here? ARM opt things plus FP things.
It's a little bit annoying that this is not the same for there's some dash bizarre thing. Um, actually, can can ARM version 6 already have Neon?
I guess YOLO.
Um, maybe it could technically potentially maybe uh um CPU dash a neon. This will probably not fix it.
There must be something additionally wrong.
But I will debug this from my bed with some lemonade tea thing. So that's the photo today. Um, yeah. This the thing is now that I ordered a 1950X 3D, which I still need your shares, like subscribes, super sinks, and and subscriptions for um theoretically I should Oh, here.
That's amazing, right?
Theoretically, I should make a proper video, but I don't even have motivation.
Like, I'm so exhausted.
I don't even want to record record a proper YouTube video, man.
Like unboxing and plugging in. But in the way you have seen Linus Tech Tips and Gamers Nexus unbox and install a CPU probably yolo.
Um yeah, here next we need we need an overlay. Actually, they removed Yeah.
Welcome to 2026. Um they removed all 32bit support from QMU which is absolutely mind-blowingly ridiculous.
We need some better system. Um I guess that means we will ship we will be shipping an old QMU version for 32-bit systems for the next decades if you wanted occasionally to run that.
No.
What else do we have? X86.
Just a temporary hack not to have so many build errors.
X 3D regular. I'm not too fancy. I cannot piss my money away like I'm Elon Musk.
Um, cheap X3D for some hopefully 20% build time update. I would have loved the other one, but AMD is not in the mood of sending me one.
Um, yeah, I I will build like that for another year. Um, the next 10 like basically that's a that's a cheap economical choice.
Um it makes no sense to spend another what nearly 300 250 euro for uh for some maybe 4% more build time.
It's like, yeah, I wish to have more cache as it would help it it especially if I would plug in my unused 64 GB kit like the first. The only problem is I'm I'm running with 96 gigs of memory because that kit this this later kit is way faster.
Um I could install the other kit and then I have 16 megabyte gigabyte.
Um but the clock would be way way lower.
So I'm for most things. So that is where the three the two 3D cache would help um hiding the memory latency. I will but I will probably not do that because I don't really like once a memory controller already burned through from my remember from I think my 5950X or so. Remember when AMD sent me on RMA a new CPU because my memory controller burned away and didn't work after a BIOS update? Wasn't even overclocked. Was only expo or whatever that was called back in the day.
Um, so I'm not feeling like this as this stuff sometimes already burned through not only at me but other 3D V cache people who have their CPUs burn. I'm not even feeling like having their two modules per dual memory channel.
I will probably what I will probably do, I will probably get a cheap board like I did with the 59 or 3950X.
I will probably get this cheap board and plug in the 7950X that served me well and uh the 66 64 gigs of memory.
And because the reason I don't sell this on eBay is I rather have a spare test system also for growing the company then I don't want to I have enough [ __ ] on eBay already. I could sell it on eBay, but the the the reason I don't is because I simply don't want to deal with like idiots like my neighbors who scam everyone and then you sell it and then my super extremely overc clocking and undervaling CPU and then they claim it's dead on arrival or whatn not [ __ ] of of people too stupid to install a CPU or whatnot or like Linus Tech Tips dropping it on the floor and then like all the pins are bent. So, I'd rather just not deal with this nonsense and have a data center built out here.
Um, 9980x.
Yeah, currently AMD is in in at least the marketing people are in no mood. Uh, we need to get bigger and better.
For that, you need to share, like, and subscribe. Um, probably I should start making more edited YouTube videos again and not this boring built-in things. Oh, here invalid instruction things of crash context. Wow, not instruction requires ARM version 4T thump that is funny.
Oh, this FP stuff here is wrong. What did we neon? Okay, that's probably pretty wrongish.
Um, that's fun.
Oh man, my nose.
My everything. Oh.
But by the way, this was already before CO, right? Who has here this? I think we we called it already trade show.
So like, yeah, this was always like basically forever like you went to CCC, Chaos Congress, Chaos Computer Congress or whatnot and you were ill like like usually after CCC nearly everyone was ill like 20 years ago, probably still today. Um, we we caught the the CCC pest. Um, you went to Taiwan to Computex and you came back ill. Um you yeah you went to see a bit you after a week you came back ill right like somehow it somehow was I mean this wasn't even me this was like friends and family and and partners and stuff I mean even like if I talk with risk five company people like they fly to red event and then like yeah sorry I'm I'm ill now it's like it's not like fly to red event or other yeah inerson conferences somehow leave me the comments. What's your experience?
Um what do we have here things? Um ah because we add f we add that there. Um okay, we could uh we could use that here because why not make our lives easier.
We could substitute that away. We could also just I mean well this will probably still not just work I guess.
Um.
Oops. Um.
Good that we waited so this can test bit while I go home. Okay, that's it for I feel like [ __ ] Um does might maybe not look like this, but my whole body is aching from some virus [ __ ] Um I just keep my things together here with some aspirin and citrus hot water tea things, ginger things. Um yeah, thanks for all the wishes. I hope you just learned something. Um yeah, we have some more overlay things to do. We we have in general we have we have change look to write. Let's hope I let's hope I'm better tomorrow again. Um and uh continue with that fun stuff.
And where's even my my music somewhere, right?
Hope you have enjoyed this, learned something nonetheless. Uh, don't forget to try T2 Linux and um, send patches and stuff and other good stuff. And of course, it doesn't just play. Why did I clothe that man?
and souls of your with Retro Linux they'll live forever more
