ASML, the company that literally powers the world's chip industry, has just signed an MOU with Tata Electronics to build and scale India's first commercial 30 nanometer semiconductor plant in Dholera, Gujarat by late 2026. And this is huge because right now India spends almost 24 billion dollars every year importing electronic item. But this 11 billion dollar project could change that forever. These chips will power cars, smart appliances, IoT and critical tech infrastructure, putting India on the global semiconductor map for the very first time. But here is where things get really interesting. In April 2026, the US introduced the match bill, effectively blocking ASML from supplying or servicing advanced lithography machines to China, which means at a time when China is facing restrictions, India is gaining access.
