The Scott Peterson case demonstrates how high-profile criminal convictions can be challenged through legal advocacy, with the Los Angeles Innocence Project filing habeas corpus petitions claiming new scientific evidence including fetal biometric analysis and tidal drift patterns. However, courts have consistently rejected these claims as 'repackaged arguments' lacking merit, with prosecutors and judges noting that the original evidence proved guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The case illustrates that alternative theories and scientific claims must meet rigorous legal standards to warrant new trials, and that even compelling-sounding evidence can be dismissed when it fails to meet the burden of proof.

>> This is resilience.
>> This is my storm.
>> This is my [music and singing] strength.
>> Still breathing.
>> Still rising. [music] >> Still rising. [singing] All right. It looks [music] like uh S uh is it SD Stephanie wrote in on the Troll Express tonight?
Um, did you take a a detour? Because um maybe there's some other channels you control because Stephanie, I don't know what you were talking about. Number one, if you don't like the music here, then you don't know my story obviously and uh I will express my story how I want to.
I've been through uh a lot on this platform and in my life. So, if you don't like it, I don't know what to tell you. I think this might not be the try uh the channel for you. And if you're going to tell us what we're going to talk about, well, last I checked, you're not my boss. You're not my producer.
You're not my director. You don't pay my bills.
Um, and I've never seen you in this community before. So, excuse me for uh wondering what your motive is here. And since your channel has uh piano and blues guitar, maybe there's other channels. My husband does blues. Maybe you want to go over there, but you probably wouldn't like him anyway because uh he tells my story, too. So, uh it's also his story. [snorts] So, I don't know. I can [music] answer your questions. What questions do you have?
It doesn't seem like your questions. You have demands. You're making demands.
You know, I don't like this. I don't like that. And so what do you think I'm going to do? Like really SD? You think I'm going to be like, "Oh, okay. All right, everybody. Sorry. Got a change of plans. SD came in. We're not going to do Scott Peterson. We're going to get rid of all the music cuz SD doesn't like it."
But SD, come on. Please. You want me to believe that this is the way you go into any channel? You think that um you know, haven't you ever heard there you got more flies with honey than vinegar?
You think you're just going to go in here and say, "Oh, I I can't stand this music and what are you doing this for?
Why are you putting that out there?"
Obviously, do you understand that A&E has a new documentary on and there's a lot of people talking about it?
Do I believe Scott Peterson is guilty?
100%. Do I think that there's people that think he's innocent? Some people.
But the LA Innocence Project is trying to get him a new trial and we are covering that because we cover true crime.
What What does that even matter?
What if we want to debunk it all? What if we're here to debunk all their new evidence? Does it matter?
Seriously, Stephanie, does it matter?
Does it matter if none of us think he's innocent and we're just going to debunk the new alleged new evidence?
I do know a lot of people are talking about it.
Okay, thank you. And uh I I don't know. You just came in here, you know, telling me you don't like the music and I shouldn't be covering this and you know, come on.
Um I do not believe Scott Peterson is innocent, but maybe I don't know.
Someone here thinks he is. Maybe someone just wants to say, "Hey, did you see this new documentary?" Which is going to be most what I'm going to talk about and debunk a lot of this evidence and the junk science that most of it is.
And I do believe when I do that, as I've done for other victims families, that that is actually helpful to the victim's families to have someone that comes on and says, "This is just a bunch of crap." Uh if if I if I feel it is a bunch of crap, when some people are going on and on about how I'm being innocent, there are people that think he's innocent. There are people that think every murderer is innocent.
Okay.
I have learned that alternative theories from defense attorneys can be just made up nonsense. Exactly, Jetet. Right. A lot of them are junk science. Okay. And I'm going to go over that. So, there is a two-part A&E E. Um, it is one thing that we can watch on here together at some time if you want to. Um, I'm shocked by it too, SD. I'm shocked by it too. I don't know why anybody would uh would think that. Now, if you listen to things in this documentary, they say that Scott never showed any violence towards Lacy and that an affair does not equal a murder. Okay, we'll agree on that. But just because he never showed any violence to Lacy that anyone saw and that an affair doesn't mean a murder, it doesn't mean that an affair, we know many times when people are having an affair with these guys, it does lead to murder.
Um, this new evidence, what is it? Okay. So, they say there's some biometrics on the baby and they're trying to say that Lacy was pregnant after December 3 uh tw excuse me December 24th and that would mean Scott couldn't do this. First of all, even if uh Lacy was pregnant after December 24th, why does it mean Scott couldn't do this? Because they knew about his whereabouts and everything and then they watched him then. Is that the reason they're saying this? This is ridiculous. Um, but the biometrics, what are you talking about?
When Connor washed up, he [snorts] was badly decomposed.
What kind of biometrics are you going to get from this very decomposed baby?
And we know Lacy, unfortunately, there wasn't much of her that came up either.
Then they say, "Oh, well, come on now.
How could Scott move Lacy in the broad daylight in his truck in a boat down at the marina on the San Francisco Bay in the broad daylight and nobody saw him?
And how does there no forensic evidence?
Why is her DNA not in his truck and all of that? How could that happen?
That's this is what they're saying. Now, um they also said that uh so that so they got some the the new what they call the new science, which I call the junk science. Um there's no forensic evidence and that um what does this say?
Oh, they're in this documentary, right?
They go to all these locations that Scott Peterson went to. But now, let's confirmation bias. Look, if you want something or you're trying to like a crime, okay? You want to go and drive just like OJ, okay? He's got that bloody glove. It's leather. It's soaked with blood.
It's shrunk. You know how leather gets.
They said that he stopped taking also his predinazone and stuff or whatever medication he was taking. so that his joints and everything would swell. But even if he didn't take that medication, I do not think he would get that glove to fit. That glove was soaked with blood. It's totally misshapen.
And [snorts] do we know that uh does everybody here know that OJ Simpson killed Nicole Simpson?
Probably. Yeah.
If it doesn't fit, you must acquit. If the glove don't fit, you have to acquit.
Come on. So, what I'm saying is if you want something to look like that, and since the defense is trying to do something, they can slant things, right, to look like that.
So, these two are driving around. You've got, I believe it's the defense attorney. He used to be on Larry King.
He was on Court TV. He was he was around this case from the beginning. But he looks at the Vinder of the Innocence Project and he's like, "Oh, they have so much evidence." Okay. But then he mentions the junk science and all of that, but he rides along.
And so they ride along, you know, on how could he have made it here and how did he get here without anybody seeing him?
Sometimes we don't have an answer for how somebody did something, but it doesn't mean it doesn't didn't happen, right? Um, a lot of times we don't know the exact way that these killers killed people. We don't know exactly. We could put some dots together and say, "Okay, this is what happened." But often the family would say, "Oh, if I could just find out exactly what happened there."
But there's still some things that never and the judge in Murdoch said that that he's never right. I'm not going to paraphrase him now, but that Alec Murdoch could be the first one that would give the true confession of what happened, but he's never seen it happen to this day.
So, just like we don't know the exact way that Maggie and Paul were killed, okay, that we can they can tell us what they think happened, but we don't know with 100% certainty because we don't have a camera that recorded that.
So, how did Scott, you know, if they're say, "How, come on.
How did Scott move Lacy around in the broad daylight?
How?
Well, do we know for certain that we have uh there Lacy's last day, right? She went to the hair her sister's hair salon with Scott. They talked about picking up a present, remember? Um, they went home. They had pizza and a movie night and she spoke to her mother.
Do we know h she wasn't put in his truck that night?
How How do we know that?
But anyway, so they'll argue that, oh, come on. They couldn't move her around during the day. Okay. And how did he get out on the San Francisco Bay in this flat bottom boat with these cement anchors? Remember the cement anchors?
And do all this without anyone seeing him. And then they argue that, well, if he put her in the water where he was, she would have never washed up where she did again. How do we know that?
You could say maybe, but is it totally implausible? So anyway, the DA's office came out and they refuted all of this new evidence.
They debunked it because that's what this is. This is just I think it is the last ditch effort, right? his sister-in-law went went to law school to try to vindicate Scott. Um, the family has that website. You know, it's just they need very much to prove that Scott Peterson is innocent. A lot of these people that do this in these families, I think they're doing it for themselves more than anything else because to have the connection genetically to someone that just kills his pregnant wife, his child, um his unborn child, Connor just is a scary thought, right? It's a scary thought. Nobody Nobody wants that.
>> [clears throat] >> you know, they're going to go try to say, "No, this is not what happened.
This is something else." And what they say is that the investigators in Brookini, the lead investigator, they say that he never ever uh investigated this as a missing person's case.
And that right away it was a death investigation. And right away they had tunnel vision on Scott.
This is what they're saying. The defense. Okay. The innocence project.
The LA Innocence. Don't get that mixed up with the regular Innocence Project.
The LA Innocence Project is something completely different. But um hi Chrissy.
So [clears throat] they say Brokini destroyed his notes. Now let's let let's um understand this. They say he destroyed his notes.
Did they say he didn't put them in a report? police. Many times, do you remember the cases where they would say they'd have their notes and then they'd ask them, "Well, don't destroy them. Put them in the file. Even though you write the report based on what's in those notes, don't get rid of the notes." No, that's known. This is a long time ago.
Is it just that his notes were messy concoction? He put them in a report and he threw out the notes before he thought. He wouldn't be the first detective that did that. Okay. There's been other cases that we covered that they've thrown out some notes that they took when they wrote up a report. We've seen it before.
So, but again, they just shined the light like why would Brokini destroy his notes? Then the next thing is that Scott was so cooperative. He gave so many interviews in the beginning. He was just so cooperative.
he wasn't hiding from anyone. Um, and then they tell us that the interview, which I have up on my channel with Scott in, you know, in the interrogation room that we've seen is the fourth they said that he gave that day or he was exhausted is what they said. We're seeing an exhausted Scott Peterson. That's why he's not showing any emotion or um affect, you know, and he's just monotone and every it's just exhaustion, guys. That's what they're saying now. So that you're basing that interview and and he wanted to take a polygraph, but then his dad told him not to. And um oh and then um a law clerk took a boat like Scots out with a dummy and it capsized. You know, I've said this many times.
You could take a johnboat, which is essentially the flat bottom boat, and I could, and I I wanted to do this, and now that it's summer, maybe I will do this with the boys, have them go out and do the exact same activity. Okay?
um whatever it is.
And one time if somebody wants to make that boat capsize, I'm sure they can make it capsize and do the same exact action without it capsizing and it's not going to capsize.
So, you know, say you have a dummy, a weighted dummy, and what what do you do?
you're trying to gather all the weight and then leaning on the side of the boat and pushing it down. There's ways to make the boat capsize.
And there's also ways where you could make the cobo not capsize.
So again, it wasn't it wasn't admitted for evidence because there was no there's no way to know what way Lacy was put in the water. There's no way to say that this law clerk is doing the same thing Scott did because nobody knows how he did it. Okay.
What? What if Scott?
Nobody knows. What if What if Lacy was wrapped in a tarp, all wrapped up in a tarp and never even put in the boat?
What if she was dragged alongside and then he waited her down and put I mean, there are a lot of different things that he could have done. I feel like I have a hair in my face.
Um, but nobody knows what it is. Yeah, he told us, "Okay, well, this is the way it is, but there was no evidence found to tell us that's what it is." There was her hair in a pair of wrapped around a pair of needle-nose pliers. There are cement anchors that he made that are missing. Um, but it's like, you know, it's kind of ridiculous. Um, and then, um, oh, why would he lie about the affair?
Now, see, that doesn't He said his marriage was great. Well, don't they all say their marriage is great and then there's an affair? Yeah, they're going to lie about an affair because it doesn't look good, right? Are there guys that have affairs whose wife goes missing and and is ended up dead who who didn't commit it? I don't know.
Is there um most of the ones that we know they killed their wives, right?
Did they have somebody else kill her?
They're they're involved in some some way, right?
Hold on. I've got some more information here I want to get to.
What happened to Stephanie?
Where are you, Stephanie?
You here with us? Or did the troll express leave? Okay.
Where the heck?
Where did I put that thing?
Okay.
All right. So, here we go. Let me let me get back to these.
More than uh 20 years after the tragic deaths of Lacy Peterson and her unborn son Connor, the case is in the national spotlight and it's thanks to the Los Angeles Innocence Project and the A&E documentary two episode documentary.
Now the documentary is led by an attorney and legal analyst Chris Pixley.
This is the attorney that was been on I told you about this case since the beginning. You'll see clips of uh Nancy Grace from back in the day, Larry King, uh I believe it was Good Morning America, one of the morning shows and stuff. He was uh Court TV, worked for Court TV back in the day, all of that.
And um it re-examines the timeline of Lacy's disappearance, the forensic science, and the controversial evidence prosecutors may have overlooked or did they? So, you know, here's some of the stuff. Okay.
The central pillar of the prosecution's case in 2004 was the timeline.
Authorities argue Scott killed Lacy on the morning of December 24th before he head out the door [snorts] uh to the vote.
However, A&E special highlights forgotten statements from dozens of neighborhood witnesses who claim they saw Lacy walking her dog after Scott had already left. Well, that doesn't mean a lot. A lot of times, and you guys probably know it, if you have a neighbor that has the same routine and you see that neighbor, could you mistake it that you saw that neighbor the day before or somebody that looked like that neighbor? Yeah, there's a lot of times things could people could be mistaken or misremember something on one day that wasn't on one day. I think we've all done it. Haven't you ever remembered something you are so sure about it and then you find out no it didn't exactly happen that way or it wasn't exactly at that time and you really really thought it did.
Okay. So that that's okay. We and that's not new. We've known that people have said that they thought they saw Lacy walking the dog.
Uh, let's see. Defense says again, Modesto police suffered from tunnel vision and actively chose not to follow up on these eyewitness reports.
The infamous burglary across the street on Medina Lane. We've heard this multiple times. This is not new evidence.
The defense has claimed that Lacy walked in on a burglary in progress on Christmas Eve morning, which led to her having to be abducted because she was a witness.
Um, and so this documentary series is re-examining the police reports, the witness statements, and the physical evidence surrounding the burglary to question whether investigators dismissed a direct connection too quickly.
Okay. And um then the fetal biometric analysis examining medical data regarding baby Connor's physical development to argue that his estimated date of death occurred days after December 24th. Again, I say, how are you going to tell me that a badly decomposed infant? You're going to say that no, no, no. Uh-uh.
He was developmental, you know, he developed after December 24th. He his development did not stop on December 24th.
And then the title and the drift patterns that I mentioned before where they're trying to say they're using modern fluid dynamics to analyze how and where Lacy and Connor's remains would wash ashore in the San Francisco Bay and whether that aligns with Scott's boat path.
But, you know, in all of these things, just like uh just like the Lynette uh Hooker's husband is going to find the the killer, right? Um just like OJ Simpson was going to find the real killers, but never hear anything about it, right?
They want to say something didn't happen, but tell us what did happen then.
And they can't do it. They want to say, "Oh, it's not plausible that Scott did this or OJ did this or well, who did it?"
You know, it's just ridiculous. So, yeah, now you're going to argue, "Oh, no, no, they would have washed up." What kind of exact science is that? Yeah, sure. You might be able to say, "Okay, well, the tide's going this way, the current's going this way, but we don't know everything. We again do not know how exactly Lacy was weighted down. We also don't know about marine life and what could have happened to her body. It's very possible um maybe something, you know, swam with Lacy. We don't know what happened. Even a rope that was around her could have pulled her in a different direction than anybody knows.
That's that's that's ridiculous, okay, to try to say that that's going to uh make him innocent.
Um despite uh these filings, the prosecutors and Lacy's family maintain that Scott Peterson is guilty, and I do too. Um Sharon Roachcha released a statement saying there is no new evidence.
While district attorneys noted that the recent court petitions have been denied by judges who viewed the arguments as repackaged claims and exactly and A&E is in the business of making money. So sure they'll make another documentary about it and I think this is the exact same documentary that was like back in 2017.
I think there was one about this if I'm not mistaken or it might have been jumping in cuz I know that um they asked us to promote this in one blog thing I had. Um so LA Innocence Project, right? Is there any reasonable doubt to the original verdict? Is it solid? It get a new trial.
Come on. Uh let's see what else we have here. Um, I just you can watch it, okay, and know that we've seen it happen in many other cases. They're going to try to say, "Oh, no. because this happened this way.
There's there's no way Scott needs a new trial that that just No, they were the cops. Let's see if we can find out and debunk some of this. And plus the DA's office. Let's see about their Okay. The Stannis Law County District Attorney's Office dismissed this new evidence that was presented in the documentary Scott Peterson the new evidence condemning it as recycled arguments designed for entertainment rather than truth. The DA's office highlighted that California courts have rigorously reviewed Peterson's claims of innocence, including rejecting his position, his petition, sorry, in April of 2026. And we went over that when that happened. The DA's office and the original prosecutors addressed the core claims as followed. Okay, here's the alleged witness sightings. The DA's office dismissed multiple claims that eyewitnesses saw Lacy Peterson walking her dog later on the day she disappeared, arguing that these accounts were contradictory and deemed unreliable.
The Medina burglary. The documentary suggested a break-in at a neighbor's home occurred on Christmas Eve, which the defense claimed meant Lacy walked in on the burglars. Prosecutors are reviewing and reviewing courts rejected this timeline as unsupported, noting the burglary did not align with a landbased abduction theory. Connor's gestational age. New scientific findings regarding the fetus's age and oceanography were also dismissed by a judge who ruled the claims to be procedurally barred and lacking merit.
Okay, let's see.
Let me go over here.
Scott Peterson's new claims. Here we go.
Hold on. I'm pulling something up I want to go through.
>> [sighs] >> Last year, attorneys with uh the LA Innocence Project and um hold on one second here filed a habius corpus petition for Scott Peterson claiming the group's investigators uncovered compelling new scientific evidence that proves he was wrongfully committed. But the Stannislaw County District Attorney, Jeff Loierro, however, said in a statement Thursday that Peterson has brought forward similar claims of new evidence, more than a dozen pleadings since the trial ended. The state of California has given this case the most careful, rigorous review our justice system allows for more than 20 years. Leroa said this is certainly Scott Peterson's right. There's a fly in here that's driving me crazy. The same new evidence claims have been litigated and ruled on by court after court after court. And each time the courts have rejected these claims and affirmed his conviction. The Stannislaw County District Attorney's Office says it remains steadfast that the evidence proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Scott Peterson murdered Lacy and Connor Peterson.
Hold on.
Okay. And back in April, a San Mateo County judge declined this week to review new evidence that was submitted by Scott Peterson's defense team in an attempt to prove he did not murder his family.
Scott Peterson, 53 years old, was convicted by a jury in 2004 for the murders of his pregnant wife, Lacy, and their unborn son, Connor. His habius corpus petition was filed in August of 2025 by attorneys with the Los Angeles Innocence Project. And they claim they had uncovered this compelling new evidence. Right. Yeah.
With its own investigators that can prove he was wrongfully convicted. And then that ruling in the San Mateo County Superior Court marked a marked a major setback for one of California's most notorious cases.
So let's see. The LA Let me move this.
Deputy Director Hannah Brown wrote in a statement, "We disagree with and are disappointed by the court's ruling on every level of this is um yeah, the Los Angeles Innocence Project." deputy director. So, she's responding to the court saying, "This is not new evidence and he is rightfully convicted." She says, "We disagree with and are disappointed by the court's ruling on every level. The ruling demonstrates a profound misunderstanding and mislication of the law applied to habius corpus petitions.
The Los Angeles Innocent Project says it intends to file a petition in a higher court to appeal the judge's decision.
In the court's ruling, strong exculpatory evidence was disregarded and found inadmissible, which is not the correct legal standard, she said. LIP investigators conducted over 50 interviews with various witnesses who have information shedding light on what really happened. What really happened, right? Yeah.
Okay.
What really happened?
How How did Lacy get out to the bay?
It's kind of just coincidental that Scott bought a boat and went out on the bay the day that Lacy went missing. That's just such a coincidence, right?
But it's somebody else. But then their bodies washed up there in that bay. Wow. That's some You've got to be an unlucky guy, right?
To have all that stuff happened to you just, you know, you just happen to buy a boat. You just happen to be testing it out the day your wife goes missing and then your wife and your unborn son just happen to wash up there.
Come on.
[snorts] So ridiculous.
Um, Scott Peterson wrote a letter from prison in 2023 stating, "I am innocent.
I had nothing to do with these horrible crimes that were committed against my wife and son."
Okay. So, I think we can say we can answer that question. Is Scott Peterson innocent?
And we would say I would say no. You can say whatever you want, but this is just a bunch of junk science and you're going to watch these [sighs] people run around and say, "Oh my gosh, well, this couldn't have happened this way." And let's now let's look at at Bini's notes. Okay.
Okay. Detective Allan Brokini did not destroy his original rough notes. During the 2004 trial, the defense highlighted that Brokini omitted exculpatory evidence from his official report, such as ignoring a witness who saw Lazy Peterson at her husband's warehouse, but he did not destroy the notes themselves.
Specific witness uh witnesses whose statements were left out of official reports.
Let's see.
So, this is a listen, this is from I'm reading now something some CBS news back in 2004 during the trial. And I like to go back in time and really hear what happened.
So it said in a blow to prosecutors, a police investigator conceded Thursday that he deliberately failed to mention a witness who contradicts crucial elements of the murder case against Scott Peterson.
Detective Alan Brokini admitted that he excluded from his reports any reference to a woman who recalled seeing Lacy Peterson at the warehouse where her husband stored his small boat.
Prosecutors have claimed that Peterson hid the recently purchased boat from his pregnant wife as part of his plan to kill her and dispose of her body in the San Francisco Bay.
The woman's story provides an alternate explanation for why a strand of hair that might have come from Lacy Peterson turned up in the boat. The hair is one of the few pieces of physical evidence that prosecutors have presented in Scott Peterson's trial. Prosecutors alleged that Scott Peterson, then 31, murdered his pregnant wife in their Modesto home on or around Christmas Eve morning.
They charged he then waited down her body and tossed it into the San Francisco Bay, only to have the remains of Lacy and the couple's fetus wash ashore four months later.
The bodies were found two miles from where Peterson claims he was fishing alone the day she vanished. Defense lawyers assert someone else abducted Lacy Peterson while she walked the couple's dog, then acted on Scott Peterson's wildly uh publicized alibi to frame him. Defense attorney Mark Garagos on Thursday played for jurors an audio tape on which Pchini dictated notes from a police interview with the witness who said Lacy Peterson used the bathroom at the warehouse the day before she was reported missing.
Garagos implied left out the woman's account because it did not fit with the police theory that Lacy Peterson had never been near the boat.
Gargo asked, "Can you tell me how that particular piece of information got excised out of your report?" "I excised it," Bini said. "You did," Gyros replied.
"I guess I did," Bchini said. Geros spent the day attacking the police investigation as a sloppily executed effort to implicate Peterson regardless of the evidence. In a roaming cross-examination of Bchini, Geros picked apart the prosecution's case from faulty paperwork to outright omissions of critical details from witnesses.
One witness reported seeing a pregnant woman walking a dog near the Peterson's home on Christmas Eve. The next the day Lacy Peterson was reported missing. Yet police did not exhaust the lead. Geros charged during his second day questioning Bchini.
Geros asked Buchini if he has ever shown the man a picture of Lacy or the couple's golden retriever, the same kind of dog the witness said he saw in the park near the Peterson's home.
He said he couldn't see her face. Pini said, "What about the dog? He saw the dog, didn't he?
Did he see Did you ask him specifically what the golden retriever looked like?"
"No," Bertini said quietly. Wouldn't it have been the prudent thing to do to have actually driven to the guy's house and shown him a picture of Lacy and shown him a picture of the dog to eliminate that lead?
No, Brchini again replied. He said he couldn't ID her.
It is a thread defense attorneys have tried to weave throughout the four-week old trial. The police latched on to Peterson from the beginning while ignoring other leads. So this none of this is new. What I'm reading you now is from 2004 before the jury even had a verdict. So they knew this. The jury knew this and still convicted Scott. This is not new stuff. This is from 2004 that I'm reading you. Gargo's cross-examination of Rochini also yielded an innocent explanation for one of the items police deemed suspicious. when they entered the Peterson's home on Christmas Eve.
Police officers have testified that among other things, a pile of dirty towels on the washing machine struck them as suspicious, that Peterson could have used them to clean up a murder scene. But on Thursday, Brchini acknowledged the rags were inconsequential, that the Peterson's housekeeper told him that she used them to clean the home's windows and fireplace.
So knowing all that, the jury found him guilty.
Right. So that doesn't sound like new evidence. Sounds like it's the same evidence.
Let me go over here.
So yeah, I see the same thing but still they found him guilty. Now, let's see.
Um, okay.
There is zero chance that these are what people are saying after watching this documentary. There is zero chance this man is innocent.
So, the LA Innocence Project, I told you, is not affiliated with the Innocence Projects, by the way. So, you hope you know that. Um, but why would they take this case on? Well, possibly because this is a high-profile case.
Could get them on the map, could get some people that, and there are always people that think Scott's innocent. They think Chris Watts is innocent. They think, you know, all all these murderers, they're they're innocent and they will put money towards that. So, they're trying to get their their organization off the ground. And what uh you know, a high-profile case like the Scott Peterson is going to get them on the map, right?
it isn't exactly the case or redeeming the defendant um that deserves this kind of effort. It's kind of mind-boggling to take on a case that has zero chance of getting reversed.
I said or could be that there's a family member or a supporter that is affiliated with the LA Innocence Project or maybe even a lawyer.
going fishing on Christmas Eve when your wife is pregnant and you're having an affair and then she's found in the water after telling a bunch of people that he was going golfing. No, that doesn't seem at all suspicious, right?
Last saw her at 9:30 a.m. took a shower and changed without having spoken to her since that morning. And then he ran right with bleached hair and cash and Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Um the new evidence is neither new nor evidence. That sounds like Do you ever watch what was that one? coffee talk with Linda Richmond was it Mike Myyers right I'm very clempt I'll give you something to talk about the new evidence right is is neither new nor evidence now talk amongst yourselves okay this so true right the new evidence is not new nor is it evidence um so totally True.
So, they're in this hypothesizing it could be a serial killer. Really? What serial killer? What serial killer is it?
Where's the evidence that it's a serial killer?
Um, they say that the police failed to adequately investigate burglaries in the area. It turns out that almost every area has some burglaries and they are not afforded the same investigative efforts as murders.
Um, the new evidence is basically just claiming that the police failed to rule out that she was killed by someone else while conveniently ignoring the fact that an overwhelming amount of evidence was presented at Scott's trial. He is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
So, let's see what they have here. Um, someone said they were so upset about this, they got threequarters of the way through the first episode and the retired female police expert had them raging.
Yeah, I hear you. Uh, most of the fake experts have no goal other than to get paid and perform well enough to get her own true crime TV gig. Of course, right? You think, oh, here you think, okay, you think you could come here and and and try to slant this this way and maybe have an open mind and say what could have happened? Yeah. Okay. Could have happened. Willy Wonka could have come.
We Willy Winky. I don't know. I mean, um, so crazy.
Someone said, what did they say here?
Because everyone against Scott said Lacy didn't know about the boat. The prosecutor withheld post-it notes with Lacy's writing that indicated she did know about the boat and he was buying equipment for it also for her nautically themed nursery. It was a lie they implicated him in which seems to be false. But it's okay. Who cares? Even if she knew. So what? Who cares? Even if she knew about the boat, does that mean he wasn't purchasing that boat for nefarious reasons?
He could have told her very differently.
I want to get a boat cuz we're going to have a little boy and I'm going to take him on fishing trips.
What does it matter whether she knew about the boat or she didn't know about the boat?
That makes no that's totally irrelevant.
Okay, that's what someone said. If he didn't kill her, then he's both the stupidest and unluckiest man alive. Exactly what I said. Exactly what I said.
Right. This guy happens to buy a boat.
He goes fishing on Christmas Eve when he told somebody everybody that he was going golfing, but then he decides to go fishing, but he doesn't know what kind of lures he used. Remember this? He doesn't really know anything about fishing. Doesn't even know what kind of lures he used, what he was doing because he wasn't fishing.
And then um he just happens to go fishing in the same bay that his wife and son wash up from. But he was there fishing. But whoever is the real killer also dumped their bodies in there about the same place he was fishing. He really has to be the most unlucky man alive if he didn't do this, right?
Cement anchors that he made are missing.
Okay.
about this.
He allegedly used homemade 10 lb cement anchors to weigh down the body of his pregnant wife, Lacy.
Right. He said he made five anchors in a plastic pitcher, but police only recovered one from his fishing boat.
So, four four missing anchors, right?
Yeah.
And why is he making five anchors for a small little boat like that? Why is he making five anchors? Why? You don't need five anchors on a boat like that. Why?
And the previous owner of the boat kept the original anchor, which was the appropriate type of anchor with the hook points that would dig into the uh floor, right, of the bay or a lake, whatever.
Um, an anchor like that for a small boat was probably $30 to $50. What the heck wouldn't Scott just purchase a new one like that instead of uh making five cement anchors?
does. It's a waste of time and money and and he has all that extra time and money. Wonder about that to do that.
It's crazy.
Let me see what you're doing over there in the chat.
Let me see. Let me make this a little bit bigger because I can't see the chat.
Well, hold on. I'm trying to make this a little larger for some reason.
myself with this.
There we go.
And that's too large. Okay.
Okay. So, uh, he changed his appearance, too. Right. No burglary. It wasn't It was was all him 100%. He wanted a new life. Yeah. Great. Thanks, Chrissy.
Jetet says, "And it was totally sus when he ordered the Playboy channel not long after her disappearance." Yep. He cleaned up his entire house. That was suspicious for sure. I am going to be listening. Hi, Bee Lady.
Let's see. I meant to say Chrissy said he was cheating on her for a while. He had that mistress in another city and he lied to her about everything. He wanted to get rid of Lacy and the baby and have a brand new life with his mistress.
That's it.
You know, it is weird that he didn't want to have a baby, but yet he was with Amber Fry and she had a little girl, right?
I wonder why he was okay with that little girl and not okay with himself having a baby.
Uh, let's see.
Hi, Ivy.
You're 100% sure John Benet's family is innocent. I doubt Scott Peterson is innocent. I'm near positive Brian Hooker is guilty. Yeah.
Does anyone know if her parents are still alive? Oh, her mom's still alive.
Her stepdad passed away, I believe.
Yeah.
And her dad, um, let me see.
I know her mom's still alive and her mother even left a statement.
I think her dad and stepdad might have died.
Let me see.
Lacy Peterson's biological father, Dennis Roachcha, and her stepfather, Ron Gransky, are both deceased.
Both men passed away months apart in 2018.
Dennis Roachcha died on December 9th, 2018 at the age of 72.
and Ron Gransky died in his sleep on April 8th, 2018 at the age of 71 following a period of declining health.
He is buried next to Lacy and her unborn son Connor in Modesto, California.
Yeah.
Okay.
And back again, this is another another article from by CBS News back in 2004.
2004. Okay. So, when this trial was happening that Lacy's stepdad suspected Scott, though, prosecutors in Scott Peterson's double murder trial have said his Christmas Eve morning fishing trip seemed unusual and was simply a cover up to dispose of his wife's body. Lacy Peterson's stepfather acknowledged Tuesday that he too went fishing that morning.
Almost exactly the time that Scott Peterson went. Correct? Defense lawyer Mark Geros asked. That is correct. 90 miles closer. Ron Gransky replied tursely from the witness stand. Scott Peterson's father Lee marveled at the revelation as he later left the courthouse.
I think Ron's comment early on was, "Who goes fishing on Christmas Eve?" And lo and behold, he went fishing. Lee Peterson said, "Scott Peterson, whose trial is in its second week of testimony, claims he went fishing at the Berkeley Marina the morning of December 24th, 2002. And then he came home to find his wife, Lacy, missing. His lawyers say someone abducted her while he um abducted her while she walked in a nearby park and then framed Scott Peterson after learning uh his alibi.
Prosecutors contend that Scott Peterson killed his wife in the Modesto home they lived in, then drove her body to San Francisco Bay and dumped it off of his small boat.
The remains of Lacy Peterson and her fetus washed ashore in April of 2003, not far from where Scott Peterson said he was fishing.
Gransky testified that he was suspicious of Scott Peterson early on.
I said, "I think your Berkeley fishing trip is a fishy story. Did you do something else? Do you have a girlfriend?"
He said, "No." And then he turned around and walked away. Gransky said.
Prosecutors claimed that Scott Peterson's affair with a massage therapist was his motive for his murder.
But Gransky testified Peterson and Lacy appeared to have a loving relationship.
Gransky took the stand on a day after Lacy Peterson's mother, Sharon Roachcha, who also spoke of a seemingly loving relationship, but also indicated Scott Peterson was nearly emotionless throughout the search for Lacy.
Annie shunned friends and family members trying to help. He even avoided the media as others tried to convince him he needed to get the word out.
Prosecutors have tried to portray his attitude as indifference and the actions of a guilty man. Although Gransky acknowledged that Scott Peterson was not an emotional person, Lacy Peterson's brother, Brent Roachcha, described how Peterson stayed away from the media as the search went on. Roaches said Peterson did not participate in a public vigil for his missing wife, and he stayed off the stage at his own parents and as his own parents and Lacy's family pled for the public's help.
Gransky had acknowledged earlier Scott told him, "This isn't about me. This is about Lacy." In explaining why he was shying from the cameras, Roaches said he told police he suspected Lacy Peterson's ex-boyfriend might have been involved in her disappearance, adding that he had heard that two the two had an abusive relationship.
Roa's wife, Rosemary, later testified that when police began looking at Scott Peterson, she remembered a strange comment he made earlier after Lacy became pregnant.
I was kind of hoping for infert infertility, she testified, Scott told her, adding that she didn't take it as a joke.
Prosecutors have said Peterson was not ready to be a father and was looking for a way out. However, Birch's wife acknowledged that she told detectives in early January of 2003 that Scott and Lacy seemed happy together.
Okay, let's see what you got here.
Hold on. I'm trying to get to uh chat to speed up over here. Speed it up, old buddy. Um Amber had a daughter. Yes.
Um yes, she most certainly did have a daughter, right? How come that didn't bother him?
Or was she just, you know, flavor of the week? He wasn't uh he was just, you know, if he could get she could get somebody to watch her kid, he didn't have to worry about it and he didn't plan on marrying her or anything, you know, might have just been the flavor of the week for him. He might have uh had others as well, you know, around. I don't know. Could have just been using her right now, you know. Who knows?
So, um, anyway, yeah, that there's that.
Anybody else have anything to say about that?
Anybody anywhere?
Okay. And Lacy Clancy, they have sat 12 of the 18 jurors. So, there's still going to be jury selection tomorrow. So maybe I don't know depending on are we going to see opening statements on Thursday?
I don't know.
Probably was using it, right? Yeah.
So what else now?
Um, Lindsy Clancy though they're going to tell you there's a breaking news in the Nancy Guthrie case. There isn't. Um, I I don't even understand how the same channels go on and on with breaking news every night in the Nancy Guthrie case. It's just unbelievable.
Um, just unbelievable.
Um, oh, I have news. Tomorrow night, tomorrow is the 22nd.
The 22nd. We we uh did you guys remember James Jason Bourne?
You guys remember him from the Nancy Guthrie case?
He came up on panel and discussed stuff.
Well, he contacted me recently and said he'd like to come up and talk about the Angelica Brophie case, which I went over last night.
So, it looks like we're going to be doing that tomorrow night. And then, wait a minute, hold on. Thursday, we have a special guest. We're going to be doing a earlier live. It's going to be at 8:00 and we're going to have Rosemary De Alisandro on and she's going to be talking about among other things that her new book and that is uh Joan de Alisandro's mother Rosemary. She's going to be on Thursday.
So, we have a big a really big lineup coming up. Um let's see. And he would not be financially or legally responsible with Amber's daughter.
Yeah, Cheryl. Yep.
Where's our Cheryl van down by the river lady? Cheryl van down by the river.
Where are you? Are you doing okay?
So, we have all of that coming up.
And today we had another tornado imminent threat where I had to go down into the basement.
Scary times.
Thank God everything was okay. Um what else?
And then it was we had bad storms today.
Very bad storms.
But I'm trying to think um Hey, Billy Boy Blue, where are you?
Billy Boy Blue, where are you? Hey, High Where's Highspeed Drifter? Highspeed Drifter, where are you? I haven't seen you in a few days. Highspeed High 61, where are you?
Um, Dookie, of course. Where's Dookie?
See Dookie on Instagram. But Dookie playing Scooter. Scooter, I see her in the DM. She's always sliding in my DMs.
Um, I don't know what she's doing.
Right. Okay. Lady Justice says he's innocent. Uh, would you like to tell us why, Lady Justice? What makes you think? What's the most compelling evidence that he's innocent? Lady Justice.
Lady Justice. What's the most compelling evidence?
Lady Justice.
Okay, Connor's autopsy. What did you What What do you mean by that?
What do you mean by that? Can you be more specific?
the other missing pregnant woman in the area.
Can you be more specific?
What is What about the missing pregnant pregnant woman in the area? Who's that? What's her name?
Can I have her name, please?
Where was she? I don't think he was a narcissistic I do think he was a narcissistic cheater, though. Well, you know that, right? Don't you kind of know that he was already he was having multiple affairs, right? So, kind of evidence in that and then it's changed his appearance and all of that.
Who did it then? Who did it? He must be the unluckiest man alive, right? Whoever did it put them exactly where he did or well supposedly did, right? He bought a fishing boat and then he just forgot he was supposed to be going golfing.
Not so much the autopsy, but when they found his body, it had plastic around his neck.
Okay.
Plastic around his neck.
And what does that mean? that there's trash in the uh San Francisco Bay.
And what is the other missing pregnant woman have to do with this?
I mean, let me look that up. Well, let me look that up for you. Okay.
The other pregnant woman most frequently compared to Lacy Peterson is Evelyn Hernandez, a 24year-old Salvadorian immigrant and mother. Hernandez was days away from giving birth when she vanished from San Francisco on May 1st, 2002.
Okay.
Just like in the Peterson case, her remains were discovered floating in the San Francisco Bay with her body missing its head and limbs. Unlike Peterson's case where her husband was convicted, Evelyn Hernandez's killer was never identified. The drastic disparity and media tension between the two women around the same time highlighted a cultural bias.
Okay.
But they're saying that she didn't get as much coverage, but it wasn't in the same neighborhood.
And the San Francisco Bay is uh somewhere where yeah, somebody would put a body if they were trying to conceal it. So that doesn't mean anything.
Where's the connection between the two?
Where's the connection?
I don't see anybody trying to say that there is a connection. They're saying that they're using it to say that she got Lacy had a lot of eyes on her case and Evelyn they're saying because of her um her ethnic makeup that she didn't. That's what they're trying to say. And then what did you want to say about um Connor?
The presence of plastic or twine around the remains of Lacy and Connor Peterson does not legally or scientifically prove Scott Peterson's innocent. Both prosecutors and medical examiners argued in court that this material was simply ocean and marine debris that became tangled in their bodies while they were submerged in the San Francisco Bay.
Medical examiners testified during the 2004 trial that the plastic tape twine wrapped around the baby's neck easily snagged uh from floating debris, similar to how seaweed or trash tangles in the water.
Defense attorneys argued that the tape and twine proved the child was born alive and then strangled or dumped by unknown third parties. While Scott and his legal team continue to challenge the verdict, most recently with the Los Angeles Innocence Project taking up the case, a judge rejected his last latest bid for a new trial.
Yeah, just because he had that on his neck doesn't mean he was strangled with that.
Okay. Coronica didn't The coroner also said that Conor's body appeared to be further along.
The body is replaced after the news said he was fishing in that bay.
Okay.
Yeah, he was framed, right? Yeah, he was framed by who?
By who?
By who?
Who is he framed by?
I don't know. By who?
Who was he framed by?
Okay. The medical examiner who performed the autopsies, Dr. Brian Peterson initially estimated that Connor appears to be a full-term 9-month-old fetus when first examined. However, fetal growth and gestational age were highly contested during the 2004 trial.
While Dr. Peterson estimated the baby was fullterm during his testimony. He also clarified there was an that was an approximation and experts universally acknowledged that severe decomposition and swelling made exact measurements difficult.
The prosecution's forensic anthropologist, Dr. Allison Galloway measured Connor<unk>'s bones and testified that his gestational age was between 33 and 38 weeks. Prosecutors built their case around the baby being approximately 33 weeks, which align with the theory that Lacy was murdered on or about December 24th of 2002.
Okay.
So, we got that. But I am getting very tired. I don't think he was framed. I think whoever killed or put the body when the Who would have killed her? Who would have who would have killed her?
I'm going to have to look into this myself because I think there was other pregnant women missing in the area.
Please do look into it. Um I'm not seeing that from my from my research, but please do look into it.
I'm going to Yeah, they're not claiming that in their new evidence. They're not even talking about um they're talking about a burglary.
They're talking about witnesses that weren't uh Oh, Amy's Justice League is here. Hi, Amy.
Amy. Hi, Amy.
Sent an email late.
Oh, wait a minute. What happened? You sent me an email.
Let me see. Good to see you. How are you doing? I left you a text.
