When holding multiple funds in the same category, evaluate them based on their investment philosophy, portfolio concentration, and international exposure rather than just overlap percentage; funds with different approaches (like Parag Parikh's value investing with 10% international stocks and 200+ instruments versus HDFC's cyclical focus with 63 instruments) can coexist in a portfolio.

How to Handle Parag Parikh Flexi & HDFC Flexi, both? #MutualFundsAdded:
How to handle duplicate funds in your portfolio? Like if I'm holding both Parag Parikh Flexi and HDFC Flexi. Parag Parikh has international stocks as 10% of the portfolio. HDFC doesn't do that.
HDFC is concentrated with just 63 instruments. Parag Parikh has over 200.
HDFC looks for stocks that will benefit from the next cycle. Parag Parikh looks for stocks that are coming today at a discount to fair price. Bottom line is if the funds are different enough, I'm not worried. But I don't go only by the overlap because that changes every few months when they buy and sell stocks.
Save this for later and have a profitable day.
