This is a masterclass in linguistic granularity that transforms a single syllable into a complex map of structural meaning. It proves that true scriptural depth is found not in grand narratives, but in the rigorous precision of its smallest particles.

This Arabic Word Appears Nearly 4,000 Times in the Qur’an
Added:Ma in the Arabic language is a very common word ma mim alif that occurs in the Quran at least 3 to 4,000 times. It is by far one of the most popular words in the entire Quran to the point that in most frequency list is listed number four. It can occur in many ways. So if I was to be exhaustive here I would say that the ma in the Arabic language occurs in 12 different ways. 12 different types. Some of them are islams and some of them are. Now how can you easily distinguish which ma an ism and which ma have if you understand what a pronoun is in English whatever in English corresponds to a pronoun will be an ism in Arabic and that is and you can take that from me and it's extremely clear. So if ever you're confused about a particular word whether it's an ism or a then you look to see what it corresponds to in English. If it corresponds to a kind of pronoun, any kind of pronoun, then it will be an ism. So we have a ma that comes at the beginning of a sentence and it introduces a question and it means what? And this ma is and the example is what is its color? Okay, there's the other ma that comes in the middle of a sentence and it means who at which and this is called the and it's in the meaning of from all of what we grant to them and from what we provide to them they spend and this is what we call the I read what you wrote is coming in the middle there's another ma that's aim it means whatever and it will be followed by verbs and those verbs would be in jimm and the ma would be inducing change on the verbs that follow it. And the example is whatever verse we abregate and we cancel it or we cause it to be forgotten from memory then we always replace it with something better than it or we at least replace it with something that's equal to it. So that's the three so far. The next one is and this induces a sense of wonder and astonishment and it's used two places in the Quran and it's the pattern. The so the ma that comes at the beginning of the pattern the gramarians have identified it as an it's an ism. So the translation is ruined is the human how ungrateful is he. So it's an exclamation and the verse is inducing within us the reader astonishment. So that ma at the front.
So all three of these mas their grammatical positioning will be understood and determined by the surrounding words because there's no three versions of ma. In other words, it's when it's in when it's in when it's in. So in the is in because it's preceded by a min in the would be in because it's in the would be because it's the for the verb preceding and he can come first can't come first but he can come first.
So, and the one that one's that one's always because it's a fixed format and you just change the letters you change the letters and you can create how beautiful is how ungrateful is he and then there's that's in the meaning of it's a that's in the meaning of thing. It literally means thing. It's the equivalent of saying and this one generally follows the verbs of condemnation and praise.
So these verbs if they ever have a following them that then that would be on the basis of and the example is it says make no mistake it's a and it's and within it there's a pronoun within there's a pronoun which is it's vague and the ma then clarifies the vagueness and the other examples when Allah is talking about that you can give it publicly or you can give it privately. If you give it publicly then how great and wonderful a thing it is. In other words, so with the assumption of how great and wonderful a thing it is what publicly giving charity, it's great. If you do it publicly, you'll reward it provided that you're doing with sincerity.
So that's called and then there's a that's called and it too is an islam.
All of these ones that I've listed so far are Islam because they have the meaning that an ism would have. Most of them are pronouns. So if you want to create vagueness in the Arabic language then you bring the noun indefinite and it would be any of many. If you want to create even more vagueness and go deep into ambiguity then there's two ways of doing it. You could say I went to the marketplace and I bought just any random book, any random book. A more eloquent way of saying it is and then you add a ma at the end. It emphasizes the indefinitess. So it would be like would be and the ma would be in the ma would be and the word any if you look okay this is important if you look in English the word any what part of speech is it in English Google it any they'll say it's an adjective it's what the English people call adjective so what the English people call adjective in Arabic it corresponds to so the of the would be subject to whatever so is in so the MA would be in as well. So and the Quranic example is that Allah is not ashamed. It does not shy from presenting any example. There's no example that Allahhana wa ta would not present out of shyness. None.
Whether it be a mosquito or something even more inferior than a mosquito.
So over there is because it's not and would be like the AK extension or would be the and that's how you would analyze it. So they're all in is in the ma is in like that. So that's it. Those are the six types of ma in the Arabic language that are all isams. Now when we move to the there's a ma that is that comes at the beginning of verbs and negates.
Overwhelmingly it comes at the beginning of the mi but it could also come at the beginning of a mud and it would negate.
So I am not going.
It's not possible. It's not possible.
They could say but then turns it into future for the most part. And when a mudar verb is negated with then it becomes a present tense negation and that's generally the more default way of negating a verb with ma.
So that is a it's a and it means not because it's negating the action that's following it. Negating and negation is the meaning from the meanings. It's a h meaning and it's not a thing like a tree. Remember an ism is the part of speech in Arabic that indicates a meaning in itself and is not linked to time. And a is the part of speech in Arabic that indicates a meaning in itself and is also linked to time. And is the part of speech that does not indicate a meaning in itself but rather in something else. So when I say I traveled from Basra, so from the word from told us something about Basra that we would have otherwise not understood to be it's an origin. So being an origin is an attribute but it's not an attribute of the min. It's an attribute of the upcoming noun. So every is like that. It indicates a meaning in something else. So negation is a meaning within the action whether it happened or whether it didn't happen. It's an attribute of the action and ma told us that. So your lord has not abandoned you. That's the it's called means non-governing agent. And then we have another which is the And it's part of a group of two particles and that are considered to resemble and the example is and Allah is not unaware of the things that you do. So that m is doing what lea does. So it also means not and it's also the difference is that one comes on verbs and it doesn't cause any change to the verb that follows it. And this governs in the manner of so you can't really see it because the is extraneous and it's causing but if you were to remove the then it would be and the other example is where the word is in and the did that so it's called the and it governs in the manner of subject to a few conditions which I'll leave here for the sake of time and also to prevent cognitive overload and by the way these videos I try to express a lot okay and I don't have any notes as you can see I just speak right so what you need to do is you need to sit with the video and watch it a few times and certain things might fly over your head and just understand that this is not the first video of mine that you're expected to be watching so if you just found my channel and you're watching this and you say oh my god this is not appropriate for beginners true it's not appropriate for beginners this is material that I would have taught in the second month or the third month of the premium program. So, people that are students of mine can immediately benefit from this lesson, right? And there's thousands of students that we've taught over the years that are watching these YouTube videos. And if you're not, then you should look in the description below and watch the 3-hour workshop because that is the very first thing that I would teach to someone who's cold off the street and someone that knows nothing beyond the Arabic alphabet. They may have studied some grammar or they may not have studied some grammar and whatever the case is that's the first thing that they should watch and they can get through it in a number of days and then all of these subsequent videos would then start making sense and really that's the difference between a paid program and YouTube because on YouTube you don't really know that this video that I'm watching right now is it the most important video that I need right now for my level. Maybe it is. In all likelihood it wouldn't. So, this is why you have to sign up for the premium program if you want structure. And you can't ask me in the comments that she I watched your 3-hour video. What's the next thing I should watch? I mean, you got to figure it out yourself, right?
So, let's get back to what I'm talking about here. So we're going through the categories of ma and I mentioned six of them that are islams and I gave you two that are and they both mean not beyond that there's which is and the one can come and so there's a that's extraneous which means that it's not contributing any new meaning but instead it's reinforcing an earlier meaning and it's also stopping the thing it's attaching to from governing further. So it it attaches to All of them can have a ma at the end of them which means that what they normally do within the sentence is gone. So they become so we have so the ma is and the becomes and it can also be that doesn't stop like so it was because of their breaking of their covenants.
So you see the min is still doing what it normally does and the m is in between. So it's not stopping the min from governing. So the one attaches to the sisters of as well as toba and the kafa would come between a preposition and it and it would not change anything. it would not change the governing capability of min or whatever preposition is there like so still is retaining his even though there's in between so now those are four so there's the and then there's the and I've given you examples for all of them and then finally we have a which is this it's the ma takes the verb verbal sentence that follows it and waters it down and reduces it to the meaning of the after the guidance had already become clear to them.
So is in the power of is the so that it it um and there's a ma in the meaning of madama as in or so sit as long as remains seated as long as zade remains seated. So it's in the meaning of as long as. So must and uh and they're both there's and there's with adverbial component would be the final one. So, let me let me know in the comments what you thought about that. And please like the video, share it, and comment comment and let us know if you'd like more of these videos where we dive into the and these words in the Arabic language that it's not entirely clear whether they're islams or whether they're hars. Like the lamb, for example, in the Arabic language, lamb, it's a har and there's no instance of the lamb being an islam. It's always a har. But then there's so many different categories of lamb in the Arabic language. So that's something that could use its own video. We can talk about the various kinds of fa in the Arabic language and the various kinds of wows in the Arabic language. And these are interesting topics. And again, if you're a beginner, then I would highly suggest that you look in the description below and follow the 3-hour workshop and do that first and also do some other videos on the channel. And you're going to have to figure it out. I've tried my best to organize the videos into playlist. But at the end of the day, if you want structure, then you sign up for the premium program. That's why it's there.
So with that said, I pray that Allahh give you great understanding and for watching until the end.
