Game studios that prioritize short-term financial gains over long-term player engagement and quality development often face significant business failures, as demonstrated by Bungie's decision to end Destiny 2 development and focus on the Marathon project, which resulted in layoffs, declining player counts, and the cancellation of future game development.

Popular Streamer Asmongold Celebrates the Downfall of Destiny & BungieAdded:
Uhoh, Asigold just poked the hive.
That's right. He just made a bunch of bungee bros really upset. Let's jump in and see what's all about.
Scholars, welcome to the counselor's office. Sonic Cuph Dr. Pepper with cherry on top. Uh we're talking about more news coming out. You know, we've there's been a lot of stuff about Bungie and Destiny. Uh and a lot of people are sounding off. And one of the people that are has sounded off is Asagold. Now, you don't know who he is.
Like me, for a while, I didn't know who he was. one of the most viewed watched streamers out there I guess I think is it Kai Cat and uh I show speed is like the top and he's like as gold is the top three five I don't know but he's a Twitch guy he's he does a lot of Twitch stuff apparently he's he's been into politics not my cup of tea but he he does talk about games like he used to be a big gamer or something like that anyways we're going to react to his thoughts on the whole situation but before we do that we've got to get >> comment of the day.
Yeah, we got those comments, baby.
That's right. We got the comment of the day by Devin. You are correct about the petition not meaning anything. This is in response to my video talking about uh how the people are trying to do a petition to bring Destiny 3. It means nothing. I I remember signing a petition to allow Microsoft to have mods on console Minecraft and allow a mod manager app on Xbox or Minecraft. It got over 300k signatures and it still didn't get approved. That's because they don't want to do anything. They sign S signatures are just useless. You want real change, you have to hit them in the pocket, right? That's how you make real change in the video game world. They don't give a [ __ ] about, oh, you said this. Okay, we'll do that. They don't care. Anyway, so we got Asiggo TV. Uh uh I guess he's playing Resident Evil 4.
That's cool. It's a good game. Uh this this video uh we actually did it. Now I know he post he replied to something on on Twitter which we'll get to in a minute. Uh pissed off a lot of Bungeie Bros. Oh man, they were so upset. Uh we'll look at it in a minute. But we've got a video by uh by Asigold and we react. Why do we react to this guy even though I don't really watch him? Because he's like one you you look at the people that have the big the big viewage and what the [ __ ] is this right? What the [ __ ] He does look like one of the aliens from Anyways getting sidetracked. What the [ __ ] Uh he's one of the big the big Twitch channels. So of course people are going to be interested in what his opinion is or their general opinion. At least I am.
Uh, and I like a lot of his takes about Bungie and just, you know, how they've done it. I I I I agree with that. I don't care for politics. I could give a [ __ ] less what his political views are.
I'm talking about gaming. I don't I don't give a [ __ ] about politics right now. Uh, so we're we're going to see what he's has to say about uh about good old Destiny, the end. Oh, even Frostbolt did one. I need I'm trying to go down all these different things to see. Uh, selling the car for gas. A new beginning for Bungie. Layoffs every employee. Yep, there is it is. Uh, okay. Let's jump in and see what we got.
>> Destiny 2 has been killed so that Marathon can die. Great job, guys. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
So, >> it's funny. I'm going to let him talk and then we'll review it. I have I I actually have that comment pulled up.
So, for almost 12 full years, we've had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through the ups and downs, surprises, and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after the final shape, we have reached our the time for our shared worlds and destiny to live beyond Destiny 2. So, our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie. We will begin to work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9th, 2026, we will release the final live service content update for Destiny 2. To begin that new journey as a studio, though, active development might be conclud new journey. Even though we know that there's about to be some layoffs, there's definitely going to be a new journey. You got a bunch of developers that are going to have to go and learn how to put the fries in the bag. That's for sure.
>> We will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable. Well, I mean, only half of it, right? Since you got rid of the other half of the content, but okay. Um, many changes in the final update will aim to ensure Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for the players to return to.
>> You know, it's sad that people people might get mad at him for, you know, talking about Destiny, but this man already knows. He already knows they took half the half the other content away. And we're not What about seasonal content? If they're not moving anything, adding anything new, can we get previous seasonal content that has not been brought back? Like all the the lore and all the story bits that now no one will have access to.
Like there's no excuse now. Why not you?
This game is done. You're not packing anything new. Bring back all the lore bits and everything that you took out.
>> Proud of it. Yeah, sure. Uh we're incredibly grateful for everyone who made the journey with us from the deepest part of our hearts. Thank you and we'll see you in the stars. So, uh, some of the responses are, uh, [ __ ] you.
Um, that's not a good one. This is what happens when you let a bunch of woke [ __ ] devs make decisions for your studio. Congrats. You drove a $3 billion studio into the ground. I cannot speak to the DEI stuff. And I'm sure that there I'm going to be honest, we know that that's really not that the whole picture because right now Bungie's actually being sued. uh based on like racial discrimination or something like along those lines like one of the HR people uh got fired after going no it was sorry someone was advocating to HR and got fired be because of a a racial issue going on and she's now suing them.
I have to look that up and have that on demand next time. But we know that they're toxic [ __ ] They're they're they're sexist. All that stuff like all this has been the ongoing issue. So, they like to give the whole uh we're diverse and we like representation, but they're a bunch.
It's all just a cash grab. It's like, hey, how do we pat our company to make it look good? Because behind the scene, leadership does not follow that at all.
They're just pieces of [ __ ] Like, so it's it Bungie is very hypocritical that they do it for the the face value, but they're really not they don't give a [ __ ] about diversity. And I guarantee you the first people to get uh fired are anyone that is a DE hire. I guarantee they're the first ones to get fired.
Eyes up, Guardians. Killing Destiny 2 for this gay slop. What is this here? Is it time to go? Was I a good game? You were the best journey anyone could ask for. Poor Audacia at Astra for our friend. Oh wow. And um thank LGBT woke far-left [ __ ] It's the only [ __ ] reason this game is being shut down. I don't know if that's the reason why. I don't. Um, at his funeral, Mr. John Destiny 2 would prefer that we celebrate the good times instead of focusing on his tragic end. So, let's do that.
Guardians.
Oh my god.
Haven't played in years, but it still hurts. Some of the best gaming moments of my life in the Destiny universe.
>> That's sad.
>> True.
>> And uh, yeah, Sony's generational track record of failed live service games needs to be studied. What are these responses? Well, I think it's probably just based off of, you know, which one I get recommended. Destiny 2 is ending.
All expansions cancelled. No content updates after the last one. It's over.
>> GG's.
>> Now, let's see if it was worth it.
>> Oh no.
It's 911 for all the people. Oh god.
Marabots, run for your life. It's 911 for you.
I feel like it wasn't.
>> No.
>> Yeah. I People are going to learn season 2 when it does not I would be surprised if it gets up to the same numbers as this. I would be so surprised if it even gets relatively close to that. But people are going to learn.
>> I feel like it it was it was it didn't it doesn't seem like it was worth it, guys. Like if I look at this, I I I don't think it was. Let's look at Destiny 2. Destiny 2. Okay. How's it doing? So, it has 12,000 players now.
So, it has more people playing it. So, they cancelled the old game that's still more popular than the new game. And you can see here, right? I mean, even at this point, 7,000, 9,000. I mean, it had almost 100,000 concurrent players for a long time. Like, even whenever it was at its lowest tier, this is 46,000. And let's note that if you look back be prelightfall because be that's around the time that they really started working on marathon like they were working on it beforehand. We know this is true but they started sinking more resources before Lightfall came out and that's why lightfall was just an absolute disaster and you could see the player count and the quality of content go down the drain because all those resources and money and developers were going toward Marathon. So overall, was it worth it? No. Now, let's say this thing that no one wants to talk about.
Would Destiny 2 still have died? I think they could have kept it on life support.
I think it could have maintained a steady balance.
I think the final shape should have been the end though, and that when they decided to end it, if they decided to continue to pad a couple expansions before the final shape, they would have gotten away of it. But the final shape really was the ending and that's when people expected Destiny 3. But if they like I said if they continued and pad like if they used the if they flopped things around they didn't do Edge of Fate but they did Rockium and they made it more of like a a tiein like an offshoot story expansion it would have probably sold. uh Renegades. I don't know. Like Renegades, a better Renegades. If they fused Renegades and Edge of uh Edge of Fate into one and they put time and effort and it wasn't just another cash grab, you know, collab, I think it you would have seen a more quality, especially if more developers, more resources into it, it could have been probably pretty good.
We, you know, it's still collab cash grab, but it would have had better activities and whatnot. Like it would have survived longer is what I'm saying.
But in general, Destiny 2 pretty much wrapped up its life at the final shape.
But things really went downhill after the the leadership decided to split revenue uh or sorry uh resources and developers to Marathon. That really kind of put the nail in the coffin. Destiny was doomed at that point.
>> I mean, compare it to now. That's 12. So basically down bad. Yeah. Let's look at Destiny 1 >> at console only.
>> Can I f Yeah, there's Destiny 1.
>> No, that's console only.
>> Oh, I guess maybe I'm not able to find it on Steam. I don't know really what was not able to.
>> Okay.
>> Um, that's not a good look for you, Asenold. People would call you a larer.
>> Is it larer or like I don't even know.
Oh, is Larer like acting like you like he's not acting like he gives a [ __ ] about Destiny. He's just he's just shit-talking Bungie. So, he's really not laring cuz he doesn't give a [ __ ] about Destiny. Like he doesn't give a [ __ ] He's just making fun of the fact that that he did like Marathon or wanted to like Marathon at least because he even said that Destiny 2 needed to die for Marathon. Uh I think I watched the microtransaction hell from Astacross in Asigold had said, you know, that's fine.
Destiny 2 can die. give me marathon. And then he got Marathon and he's like, "Well, that was a mistake."
>> Well, either way, um, Destiny 1 was very popular as well. It's on PC that I didn't know that. And so, anyway, uh, yeah, I just know about Destiny 2.
>> So, yeah, there you go. They basically have allowed Marathon to take over and flop out so hard that it killed Destiny as well. I mean, it's one thing for a game to kill itself. It's another thing for a game to kill itself and another game. Like I mean this is something not even Concord managed to do this. Like and that's why Marathon is going to have its own page. It's it's it's not going to be the Conorian. It's going to be everyone's going to refer things as Marathon that match the same description. It's just a col legendary failure at this point. But can you put all the blame like the reason why Marathon is a failure is for the same reason why Destiny died. It's leadership. Marathon could have been a good game for the masses.
I know there's a niche that love it, but for the masses, it's a failure. It could have been a a a success if the leadership and, you know, developers themselves because there there was some very much developer choices to make the the looks of it and how it plays and the Roblox vibe. All that was chosen by developers. That had nothing to do with Pete Parsons. Like Pete wasn't like, "Yeah, let's make everything look like it's a splash between Roblox and um you know, Apex Legends."
>> Concord destroyed the st like and and will this destroy Bungie entirely? I think well, take a look at this. After ending development on Destiny 2, Sony's Bungie will lay off staff and focus on Marathon rather than jumping directly to Destiny 3. Bungie plans layoffs after ending Destiny 2 development.
Well, there you go.
There it is. They're going to focus on I just I'm sorry I'm pausing. I just had this realization.
Bungie plans layoffs after ending Destiny 2 development, which technically, if you want to think about it, that's June 9th. That's the final like harrah update. They're still probably working on it and doing final touches. Can you imagine as a developer, especially if they haven't told you you're about to lose your job, that now you know this information, you know, here June 9th, I might lose my job.
Damn, that sucks. Now, for the developers that are, [ __ ] go put the fries in the bag. For the other ones, I hope they the good ones, I hope they get absorbed. I hope you get absorbed, Sony. I hope your talent is put somewhere where it belongs uh into a studio that cares about you. uh because Bungie is in it >> on marathon. Blame the woke. I don't know what to say. I think that's a fatal error. I do think that we are looking at the beginning of the end of uh of of Bungie. This is the beginning of the end unless they come out with like I I think that they have enough juice in in in the tank to come out with Destiny 3. I think that they have one last chance and like you're not going to make Marathon good.
the the public has already made up their mind on Marathon. And this is also very important to keep in mind with Marathon.
And I know it sounds >> Did this man say they have enough juice to make Destiny 3? My brother, they barely got a way of making the final shape with what they have. And they have less people now than they did when they pulled developers from Marathon to the final shape. You want them to make a whole ass game and it be good?
They also lost some legendary people like Chris Proctor, Joe Blackburn.
Good luck with that.
>> Stupid. And that's because it is stupid.
Marathon has to die.
>> It does. I don't know why, but it does.
>> If Marathon doesn't die, >> I mean, at this point, if Destiny never happens, I truly don't care at this point. Let Bungie burn. Uh the the only way unfortunately the only way you're going to get rid of the the all the little rats in seauite is you got to burn it from the bottom up. It sucks. I feel sorry for the good developers. Hope they get absorbed. But the only way you're going to get rid of the rats, you got to burn the whole [ __ ] house down. The Concord trilogy is not complete. The prophecy will not be completed.
Marathon must die.
It has to. There's no other there.
There's no other alternative.
It has to.
>> The last sacrifice. Yes. You finish the fight. Classic, huh?
>> Oh, no. They did finish the fight. Dude, you can't reference Halo like that, man.
That's dirty.
>> So, uh, you still got that Horizon game.
No, but this is this is the this is the core Concord trilogy. Okay. I understand that we have other games that are inside of the Concord verse, but this is the core trilogy, right? These are the this is the main this is like, you know, Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, okay?
Like, so you've got to have that happen.
Uh I I don't know, man. I feel like Marathon is its own burrito failure.
Like Concord and High Guard were like, I feel like there's been plenty of games that no one's talking about that have fit the perfect Concord. Like there was one that wait lasted like 3 weeks and it already shut down or something like that. Like that should be Concord. I think Marathon fits its own bracket at this point. Like I I truly do from a legendary you could do all legendary studios and then Marathon and whatever else fit into that slot. These are legendary financial failures failures in general. Marathon could be its own bracket. I don't know if I still believe it's in the Concord trilogy.
>> Those are just Yeah, those are side quests. That's like Black Widow or Hawkeye or, you know, Ant. Who cares about Ant-Man? Like what are you talking about Ant-Man for?
>> I like watching.
>> Yeah. No, but these are the main ones.
Lego Batman maybe. I mean, I I saw people like seem to like Lego Batman. I don't have any interest in it. I think it's silly. Like I I'm I don't know.
Maybe I'm too serious, but like I >> Okay, don't my man. You can't be [ __ ] on Legos. Legos. Like I remember playing Lego Star Wars. That was the [ __ ] That was fun. Now, have I played any other Star Wars since then?
or sorry, any other Lego games since then? No, but Lego Star Wars I have such fine fond memories that those series I that's not true. I played Jurassic Park.
I play Lego Jurassic Parks. The games are fun. Sure, they're not. They're very lowlevel. They're meant for kids, but they're still you can have fun. Like, wouldn't we play games where everything had to be seriously? Sometimes it's just having stupid fun.
>> I don't I think Lego Batman is stupid.
Resident Evil 4 today as promised. You know what? Since you asked that, it's canceled now.
>> Oh, >> I was going to play it, but you know, the guy just asked that question and I feel like I mean, guys, do I really want to get pestered and annoyed about playing this all the time? Yeah, I think it's canled now, bro. So, but maybe I can uncancel it if I perma banan him for asking that question. What do you guys think? Should we perma ban him so we can continue being able to play uh Resident Evil 4 today?
because we either have to play it today or uh like and ban him or or if we don't ban him, I mean, we're not gonna play it, right? I think that >> I have nothing to add commentary to this like no reactions. Uh I I don't I don't know.
>> That's the that that seems like what's fair, right? Says sacrifice I'm willing to make and original Destiny 1 uh announcement trailer. Okay, so yeah, I never watched So this is the original Destiny 1 trailer. I've never seen this >> Destiny 1 announcement trailer. That was the [ __ ] dude. I want to say the Destiny 1 trailers were fire. Like the live cinematic ones. Oh my god. Those are some of the best [ __ ] content.
That was when Bungie had the sauce. They had the the They had the touch. They got the touch. Let's watch it.
Oh man, I'm excited for this. This is like a flashback >> 2013 event.
>> Hey everybody, it's great to be here.
>> Tell you a little bit about what Bungie's been doing for the last few years.
>> Jason Jones, >> after Halo, we ask ourselves the question, what next? What's worth doing?
>> When you have a studio with this much talent, what do you point it at? How could we take a genre that we know and love so well, the first person shooter, and turn it on its head again? And our answer is Destiny.
>> Yeah. Oh my god, the nostalgia.
>> Bungie's next great FPS.
>> Oh my god.
>> In Destiny, we've created a fantastic new universe for players to explore.
>> The Hive >> full of mystery and adventure.
>> The moon, man. This was the [ __ ] when it first came.
>> A persistent online world where players grow and customize their characters. I have to say something.
When I first played the beta, I was so pissed off because I thought you could have a ca you could you could be the warlock but also have like a a hood.
Like I wanted to look in a cape. Like I wanted to look like an actual like dark necromancer or something like that. And I was so pissed when I chose the hunter.
I'm like what is this [ __ ] Why do I have a shitty cape? Where's my cuz I didn't know that that that's the progression is these like where I want to be able to deck out my chest. Like I still I'm still kind of upset you couldn't you can't modify your characters to look like like I get the whole like they have their own identity but it should be based on how you play them not how they look. But besides the point I I I just want you know that was the little memory that I remember playing the the beta. I was so [ __ ] pissed. I was like god damn it. I wanted to be able to do like wizard [ __ ] and now I've got this guy with a knife. [ __ ] this.
I was such a hater for desk for hunters.
I hated hunters. And then there was a time where I became a hunter main, but I [ __ ] hated hunters.
>> And we focused from the beginning, not just on the great competitive experience that players demand from a shooter.
>> Yeah.
>> But to make sure that playing Destiny cooperatively with your friends was going to blow your mind.
>> Now you have content creators blowing Bungie.
>> Destiny is going to be amazing on PlayStation 4. It's a great piece of gear.
And we can't wait to see what PlayStation fans do when they set foot in our world for the first time.
>> Is this like the rare moments that we see Jason Jones? Like I know he's still at the company, but he's like he's like the guy. He literally is like living in the basement. He just comes out. He crawls out once in a while. But like does he has he made any face reveals recently? Like that's what I'm wondering.
>> And back in the day, bro, like this went hard as [ __ ] 2013. Think about that.
>> It did went hard as [ __ ] It was game changing.
>> Oh, >> [ __ ] seen this.
>> The OG tower.
>> I was balls deep in WoW at the time, so I didn't even know this happened.
>> Man, you missed out.
>> Destiny the game.
>> Yeah, talk about >> I mean, I bet this went so hard.
>> It It still >> probably just went crazy, right? This bungee fell off, I guess. So Destiny was the game that had the most hype out of anything in my entire life. Sadly, Destiny 2 has been mismanaged for close to a decade. Yes. That's insane. I didn't even know that.
>> Yeah. Like, bro, it did. Really? [ __ ] man. Like, yeah. I guess I missed out. I missed out on that game.
>> So, Marathon must die.
>> It must die to fulfill the Concord prophecy.
And only when it Oh, Destiny looks really cool. I would have loved that.
ANYWAYS, MARTHA MUST DIE.
DIES, will the world be free of this of the the terror, the reign of terror that these games have had?
>> No.
>> So, the trilogia Concordia, that's what they call it. And uh it has a has 6k players this morning. Yeah. Well, it's gone up now. It's at nine. So, uh yeah, it's money laundering. I I wish. Okay.
It's I mean, if if there was moneyaundering, then they would be doing something that was a good decision, right? And so, uh Three Horsemen clearly. And so the game is basically going to be dead. I I don't really see, by the way, I don't see Bungie surviving another failure.
>> No.
>> If Bungie releases, let's say, I think that they're going to have to make Destiny 3.
>> They won't.
>> I think that Sony's going to make them make Destiny 3.
It's Isn't it funny that you have even one of the biggest like Twitch streamers saying what everyone else has been saying that they should they need to make it, but they're not there. We know that there's no current plans. Any project that's been, you know, you know, hey, here's an idea. No, nothing's been green lit. It's crazy that everyone besides Sony sees the potential of Destiny, but Sony's like, "No, everyone. You have even the big someone who didn't ever play Destiny 1 coping about the making of Destiny 3. You you hear the cope. It's it's all over the world. It's gamerwide. The cope of Destiny 3 and it's not going to happen.
Not not for many years at least. Like just the even idea of it hasn't even approved. Like I don't know like if you're saying Desty 3 is the way to say Bungie, they're going to be dead before you cross the line.
And like maybe this is going to be like a repeat of what happened with Microsoft like forcing uh 343 or not 343 um forcing uh Bungie to make Halo Reach, right? Or right. And it's going to >> see that's the that's the difference.
Microsoft saw the the value of Halo.
They wanted to milk Bungie for as many games from as many Halo games as possible because Halo was successful. It was hot. Destiny is not hot right now.
Don't get me wrong, it there's a lot of people that look passionate about Destiny. There's the people that are craving for it, but in this moment, it's not hot.
And Sony's not thinking of the potential it has. They're looking at the mo here now. Is it going to give us immediate gratification, which is money? And the answer is no.
For some reason, they think marathon is I don't know what drugs they're taking, but I guess Marathon is so cheap to run that they could do [ __ ] all and they'll take whatever cash money they can. Which makes me wonder if Marathon's about to get the same treatment that Destiny's been getting since Marathon. That they're going to put Marathon on life support just to kind of, you know, juice some cash out of it while they expect Bungie to make all whatever incubation projects if there's any. Uh, that's my that's the if I was a Marathon fan, I would be worried that Sony is about to treat me like they treat Bungie treated Destiny. They're going to use Marathon to juice their next project.
They're going multiple IP incubation projects. And it wouldn't surprise me Sonywise that they did that because we know that Sony's been throwing all the [ __ ] at the wall life service wall to see if something sticks and they want to try to get as much value out of Bungie even though there's not much left in that. Uh, they're going to try to it it that if I was a Marathon bro, I would be terrified of what Sony's trying to get out of Marathon because I don't know.
Same thing. But, uh, yeah, next Ubisoft.
Maybe it could be the next Ubisoft. I don't know. But, uh, anyway, well, Ubisoft is another good example. Ubisoft has had a massive crash out as well.
It's kind of funny like I haven't even really been talking about this that much and it's just been more and more >> of that was something I was going to make make a video about but then all the Destiny stuff happened and sidelined every kind of piece of content I wanted to make any like actual side videos and parodies anything has been put on the side because this is a media information that is impacting uh it's it's funny because Ubisoft is seeing the error you know failures you know they're seeing a downfall which is Funny because Marathon Bros were like, "Look at Ubisoft and Rainbow Six. They had the same problem and they're doing well." Well, you may not want to use Ubisoft as an example anymore.
>> But yeah, even Ubisoft has had a massive loss. Let me see if I can show this.
Ubisoft uh >> let me pull it up because it's very recent. This is this is yesterday.
>> Ubisoft stock is crashing after the company announced massive financial losses worth >> guys Bungie and Marathon be fine. Look at Ubisoft in Rainbow Six Siege. They got they got it, guys. They're they're being success. It's It's okay, Billions. So, every single one of these companies, I want to let you guys know that we are killing them.
>> Yes, >> we're killing them.
This is beautiful. I'm so proud of you guys. Like, what? This is a level of of winning that I didn't even know was >> Gamers do not hate games. They don't want games to die. They want bad games to die. They want shitty developers, shitty uh, you know, shitty uh, studios, shitty game design to just not exist. I would rather have less games and those less games be of absolute value. Like we you think about the gaming world is so saturated with garbage that there's only a couple gems.
We're not talking indie by the way. When we're talking about like AAA, there's so much garbage you have to siphon through.
And I know one man's trash is another man's treasure. But and when talking about like multiple like successes in the wider gaming audience, there's only a couple gems in the pool of trash.
>> Possible.
It's deserved. I think it's deserved, too. If you want me to be honest, I do.
I think it's very deserved. So, it's beautiful. Yes, we are actually knocking these [ __ ] over one after another. We didn't need to kill them. And to be fair, also, they're killing themselves.
Like, if they were making good video games, we couldn't do anything about it.
Fundamentally, all of the identity stuff and everything else, all of this is secondary to good video games. They're not making good video games. And that's the real reason why they're failing more than anything else. So, AA is still making good video games. Capcom from software. Yeah, Capcom made a [ __ ] banger. What are you talking about?
Capcom made two bangers. Pragmata was great. And then what was really beloved was Resident Evil 9. Oh my god. Talk about such a juicer. Game of the year.
Like outside of Pokemon. I guess Game Freak makes Pokemon. So that's it. At least they own Chuds though.
>> Yeah. I mean, let me see if I can find this. Did they own the Chuds?
>> Hassan. So sellout would be more accurate. Objectively, he is promoting a terrible game just for the money. And Assassin's Creed responds to Elon Musk, "Is that what the guy playing your POE2 account told you?"
>> Well, in a tale as old as time, it appears that once more, Twitter likes don't pay the bills. Holy [ __ ] Oh my god, that is a perfect like U-turn.
I love the people that think that Twitter matters. Shout out to Flitzy.
Thank you for for this guy has been on my balls for a little bit. Not in a good way. Uh little Tik Tok Timmy uh on Twitter thinks that he's hot [ __ ] Anyways, uh just absolutely having a mental breakdown trying to call me out. Let's see. Uh, he's so mad. And apparently he is on Little Flitzy happens to be in his little uh safe space. He's got to talk to his people. Poor little Flitzy. Uh, anyways, I'm done [ __ ] on this guy.
He's so He's so upset. He had to get he had to do it AI. That's so funny. Lol.
Anyways, I thought it was funny because some of these people, if you if we look at it, these these are the same people on Twitter, by the way, these are the people that think that likes matter.
Well, let's look at the likes for the for him [ __ ] on Bungie. 26K. Oh, all these people upset. Oh, 20 only 2K.
Look at that. All these Bungee bots and not enough likes. I You're really ratioing the guy. 26K likes. Wow. All these little seven. Wow.
Couldn't be me because I'm not out there calling him out.
H. It's so funny because they're so [ __ ] mad. They're so mad. They're so mad.
And that's all that's why you make fun of these people. You make fun of these bunch these deranged syndrome losers.
You make fun of them. You farm them.
Never try to have conversation with these people. Never try to to be polite to these people because they're they'll never be polite to you. They will always make fun of you. They'll always think they will always be unhinged. Uh and then they'll then when you call them out, they'll run to their uh their their safe their little safe spaces and then they have to sit there and make AI of you because they have no argument. They have no counter. Uh they have nothing.
It's really funny that they get so upset, man. It's crazy.
Anyway, shout out to Flitzy. Uh, we appreciate you being the moment where we can laugh at you, but I think we're we're done kicking the the little poor dog. We're going to probably move on for Flitzy. Let them live in their little space. We know we'll probably see them watching the video again. So, thank you for supporting the channel. Now, go put the fries in the bag.
>> That's just too bad.
Do you remember all of the dick eataters and the retards and the dumb asses and the delusional uh did I say retards? The retards that said that, you know, like uh Assassin's Creed was doing well, etc. I >> said the same thing about Marathon.
>> Well, they're really big retards. The Dulus. Yeah, I like that. Um well, let's look at how Ubisoft is doing now.
Oh my god.
Well, it went all the way down and all the way back up again.
There it is. Oh my god. It rose back up.
Let me see EU.
And so this is the European stock, right? You can see that. And the European stock actually has gone Wait a minute. Oh, it's gone. So it went down massively and now it's gone back up. So it seems like this caused a temporary panic and people aren't really Black Flag made it go up. Yeah, I think that's probably what happened is that they announced some new stuff for that game.
>> I will be playing some Black Flag because I never beat it. I had it played a little bit and never played it. And I bought it like twice I think for No, I bought it once 360 and then that was it >> in order to get that up. But man, it had so many players. What happened? Yeah, I know, guys. It's such a mystery. And so, uh, anyway, uh, gamers voted and Ubisoft died. $1.3 billion in losses.
>> Historic low, will not return to profitability until at least 2027 or 2028. Ubisoft will continue focusing on live service games. They told I'm jumping ahead because I think the this we got the we got the gist of it.
Ubisoft is not the point to play.
>> The total Chud blowout man.
Assassin's Creed Shadows just officially surpassed 2 million.
>> Even Bungie wasn't lame enough to do this. 2 million players. Isn't that funny, guys? 2 million players not sold.
Oh [ __ ] >> Players in two days. So much for the Go Woke, Go Broke. An Assassin's Creed game scoring an 80 plus and set in Japan was always going to be a massive success, no matter the outrage campaign, and was not going to put a dent IN IT AT ALL, >> MAN.
>> Oh no, >> that's just too bad.
>> The Chuds win again.
It's sad. And uh go woke go broke. I guess >> the neck beards. The neck beards won.
The neck beards won.
>> Well, there's a lot of examples of that.
probably not about aliens. I mean, I'll have it open. I mean, like, if there's something interesting that happened, I did not kill Destiny. Management inflated the value of a bungee, started a million incubation projects, that failed, sold the company for the bag, then left somebody to deal with the aftermath. I hate that marathon must be prioritized over Destiny. I think that you really underplay how much of a negative effect DEI hiring processes have on a company.
>> Okay, explain it to me. Explain it to me so where I understand deeper impacts.
Okay, I'm not I'm not a DEI, you know, stand or hater. I I I agree hiring people for stupid reasons is stupid, but please enlighten me. Why? Tell me why, Mr. uh Mr. Asmigold, like all you have to do is look at the people that are working there.
>> Really, just look at the kind of people that are working there and see how much different it is. Like, I mean, I'm sorry. Like, I I I know that like people want to say, "Oh, no, that's not the reason." So, it's not that, like, for example, they don't have male and female in the game. That's just simply a mining canary. Like, that doesn't tell you that the game is going to be bad, but it indicates that deeper down inside that it's being made by people that are at a profound adversarial relationship with reality. And whenever you're fighting against reality, you always lose. So, that's it. The guy that worked on G hates Guns worked on Halo. Yeah. Yeah.
But that that game's also failing, too, right?
>> I forgot about that. Okay. If that was a DE hire, then that's a perfect example of stupid woke [ __ ] doesn't like guns but makes a game with guns. And I remember the excuse of that was like, well, it's uh it's against aliens. It's fictional. It's not the same.
Never let a [ __ ] make a game.
>> I mean, they're all failing. So, uh it's literally blue sky. That's all you need to know. Yeah. I mean, like, nobody would do that if that wasn't a [ __ ] Yeah. And this is it as game. I angry at my account for always getting involved in culture [ __ ] not being able to find a single example. Most thing happened to I have no idea even what this is. This is the some comment I was talking about.
So this guy had no problem uh you know gassing this company up and uh you know talking about how successful Assassin's Creed Shadows was and now Ubisoft is doing another round of layoffs probably and they've lost $1.3 billion.
>> Man, that's just really funny. So Assassin's Creed Shadows >> I'm curious how much money Bungie has lost Sony. We know the value of Bungie has gone down, but how much money have they actually lost? That's the the thing the data we're not getting. lowest out of the five games that sold 4.3 million copies would be irrelevant to the fact that the franchise is in serious decline. Well, here's here's what matters, right? Is that an Assassin's Creed Shadows set in feudal Japan should have been that should have been >> Assassin's Creed.
>> Yeah, the Magnum Opus, right? The big one. And uh you know that Forsa 6 played it as AC4 said it was good. Destiny is dead. Bungie is failing. Marathon is dragging it to the bottom of the ocean.
Ubisoft announces literally billions of dollars of losses. I mean, does it even get better than this?
I mean, this is amazing. What a what a great day. Historic level, Ubisoft stock is crashing. It seems like it's come back since then. Ubisoft is ending development at Redtorm Entertainment.
Results in the loss of >> 105 jobs.
>> And that's the thing, people are going to try to guess like, well, people are losing their jobs. Well, guess what?
People lose their jobs when a big, you know, a competition shows up. when you have a local popping uh you know pop shop and then you know Walmart shows up and takes all the business. Well, it's not guaranteed that the little pop shop is going to continue uh business.
Welcome to capitalism. I'm you people lose their jobs on the daily. In fact, I'll tell you right now even in education they're doing a lot of reforming and changing and a lot of uh you know head wigs are and people who are in leadership positions are losing their job. Who would have thought? It happens. Cry me a river. It sucks. But everyone's losing their jobs around the like you're not unique. You're not special. That's just how life is. Cry a [ __ ] river. We're not going to sit there every time someone you know uh you know someone who does a shitty job loses their job. In this case, it's leadership that's not losing their job. And you that's where your attention should be.
is like, "Okay, it sucks, but you're not no one's doing anything about it."
That's my problem is we're like, "Boohoo, [ __ ] who, but no one's actually attacking the problem." And I don't mean physically or threatening, but the people who are in charge never see any punishment, any negativity, nothing. It's always just the the the pawns that get tossed out. And that's why it's hard to be, you know, w sad. If I cried every time someone tossed out a group of pawns, man, we would all be emotionally broken because that's what happens when you have shitty leadership.
They're the the pawns are the first ones to get thrown out the door. That's why I'm not I'm not crying about Bungie losing anyone their jobs. I'll be pissed if some of the good ones lose their job and I'll be I'll continue to, you know, rant and rave about how leadership needs to get their ass canned, but I'm not going to sit there and have, you know, you know, I'm not going to sit there and cry about it every time someone loses their job.
I'm sorry. I'm just not. Wow. AMD is up, brother. Of course it is because Nvidia is no longer categorizing uh gaming chips as a part of their business that they're that they're like actively categorizing. So obviously AMD would take over because Nvidia is moving out of that market and defining themselves in that market. I think that's clearly why, right? That's what I would guess, but who knows? It's great to see it happen. It's sad that it had to happen.
It sure is. How do these giant gaming companies get the culture of gaming so wrong?
>> That's a perfect example. It's sad that it had to happen. It's great that it did. I'm sorry that people lost their jobs. It should never happen, but because they are losing their job, it's because they're it had it had to happen.
You can't continue on with [ __ ] You can't continue making shitty games. You can't. I'm sorry. You're not entitled to be a business and be successful if you pump out [ __ ] Sorry. Not sorry. Women.
Shouldn't have done it.
I mean, really, it's just that simple.
You shouldn't like I could have told you there was a mistake, right? Everybody could have told you it was a mistake.
But whenever you have, here's the thing is that >> the type of people that play video games are young young men. Like that is the primary core audience for for people that play video games. Now, are there women that play video games? Yes. Are there older people that play video games? Yes. Are there little kids that play video games? Yes. But they have their own games like Roblox and Fortnite. But in terms of, you know, bringing out video games that people are going to buy, >> 80 90% of that audience, in my opinion, is probably between the ages of 15 and 40year-old men.
>> True. Like if you're talking about games like Rainbow 6, Assassin's Creed, I'm thinking that that is a sausage fest.
Like I'm talking eight out of 10, n out of 10 of those players are men. So if you make the game agnostic to gender, you are simply making a game that doesn't appeal to your audience. You are >> true.
Um I mean most of all I he said I agreed like >> there was a lot going on into Ubisoft which I think is I wanted to make a video on that. So he's completely right about Ubisoft because people love to use Ubisoft as an example for Bungie and Ubisoft is like the the worstc case scenario to use to like if Ubisoft is not doing well. you think that they're being s they're successful, they had to sell part of them off to like Saudi Arabia, some [ __ ] like, okay, they're not the ones you need to be, you know, you know, showcasing. But yeah, overall, like I still waiting on like the DEI aspect. Uh didn't really give a lot of clarity on that, but it it is the way it is. Either way, I think he was completely right. Uh not completely, but mostly generally correct.
And u yeah, it it is way it is. And you're going to see more of it. People are going to be upset. They're going to think you're a bad guy. Uh you're you're entitled. You are. You're entitled. You are a consumer. Every consumer is entitled to get what they want. Now, you don't always get what you want. And that's why a lot of people go somewhere else. And when they go somewhere when you have a large community go somewhere else, well, guess what? As a business, you die. That's how it is. If you can't meet the demands and expectations of consumers, they go somewhere else. and you die as a business. That's how it goes. It sucks. Oh well. Welcome to being a business. I guess you shouldn't got into business. Maybe you should have been a farmer or something. I don't know. Anyways, see you next time. The link will be down below. And as always, game
