Securing stable housing requires understanding that rental costs typically include not just monthly rent but also security deposits (often equal to one month's rent), first month's rent, and additional fees, meaning the total initial cost can be double the monthly rent; individuals experiencing housing instability often need to balance immediate shelter needs with long-term financial planning to achieve housing stability.

Hi I'm Brayden here's what I need to rent, please helpAñadido:
Hey everybody, my name is Braden.
Welcome back to another video. I just want to start off by saying how thankful I am to everybody watching right now and everybody who's supported me the last year and a half means a lot to me.
Right now I am dealing with housing instability.
So, I thought I'd just make a video and try to be clear, ask for some support, just tell y'all what I'm dealing with.
I'm looking for a new job right now. So, I've been applying to places every day past few days. It is 5:00 a.m., almost 6:00 a.m. in the morning. Right now, I just woke up. I'm ready to take on the day.
Yesterday I was spending my day applying to apartments.
That's pretty stressful, but you know eventually you just keep going through the websites and I mean I sent a lot of applications through so hopefully get contacted back by a place. you know, yesterday I got a message back and just uh feel like eventually I'll get into a place. Although I'm a little worried cuz most of the places I'm applying for I'm just trying to get into any sort of housing right now.
So, I've never rented anywhere or anything. I've been living in stability on my own in hotels and then Airbnbs the past year and a half, which I know is really expensive, but after a year in hotels, I'm just really tired of the environment.
So, don't want to focus on how I spent all that money dealing with instability. I want to focus on getting into hosing now because this is going to be way cheaper and I'm going to be able to have my own things and just feel a lot of relief and like I know I'll be safe for the next month.
You know, for example, right now I'm in Airbnb and yesterday the host, he knows the key to the door. He just walked right in. Like I was like going to the bathroom and then I flushed the toilet and um I guess I gave him permission to come in cuz he heard me flush the toilet. I don't know. It was pretty weird. I told him that. I'm like, "Don't you think it's weird?" And he's like, "Well, I got I got to come in here." And he just kept saying it. And I'm like, "You can't really unlock the door when somebody's staying here." I'm like, "Do like what do you mean? Do you expect to come here when I'm not here?" And he's like, "Well, no, but I had to see if you were here. I knocked four times." I knocked four times.
It's like, "Okay, I don't care." I'm like, "Don't you think that's weird?"
to type in the code. I know he knows it cuz he's the host.
But isn't that breaking the rules?
Just makes me feel unsafe. And you know, I understand what I'm signing up for, but I just really need my own space, y'all.
I'm not trying to ask for anything too much. I'm just being real.
I'm really tired of moving my stuff around.
I always feel like I'm wasting money. And I hate to say that, but people are kind enough to support me. So, I just want to use this all the money I have wisely.
Like I said, um all the places I'm applying to since it's shared housing, I'm really worried that maybe oh my gosh, what if somebody starts a fire in there and then you know the place the building burns down? I don't know. My stuff would be in it. That wouldn't really be in my control. That would just be unfortunate. I don't know what I would do, but I'm just trying to get in anywhere, you know. Um, I'll tell you the example, but the place that messaged me back, it would cost me just under $1,200 a month for myself to stay there. And you never know, maybe I can invite in a roommate after a month or after a few or not. But maybe that could be sustainable just through the YouTube. But what I'm going to try to do myself is get a job because I can't rely on that.
I'm fortunate enough, I'm lucky enough to just be someone who made YouTube videos and people donated to me. I don't expect anything when I make videos like this, but I do need the help. If anybody wants to donate, you can check the description if you want to share the video or just like it. All that helps me out a lot. And I'm just trying to get into housing and start renting. I've never done that before. So, renewed all this stuff. You need a deposit and uh just the monthly rent, you know, sometimes maybe like $10 fee for garbage and all that. There's so many different requirements depending on where you stay. It's kind of inconvenient.
You know what else? Imagine if I was applying to the buildings in Duth or something and and their uh the towers, the big buildings.
Then you have to bring your How do you get beds and stuff in there? Oh my gosh.
And I've got comments about that. You know, I'm going to have to think about other expenses.
You know, I've been applying to places that luckily have fridges and stoves and bathrooms.
So, if it's going to cost me $1,200 to get in there just for rent um to pay that rent every month, then I'm going to need double that. And right now, I'm hosed until the end of the month.
And I don't exactly have double rent. And I replied to the application. I said I did cuz that's what people are encouraging me to do. And maybe that's not good advice. But, you know, right now I'm struggling. So, I'm doing whatever I can just to get out of this spot because I don't like it. I don't want to be dealing with instability. I just want to get stable. So, how do I do that? Braden, what's your plan? Well, I got to get a job and then I'm going to build up stability with my housing. How am I going to get housing? I'm just going to hope that people are going to come through and help me.
cuz I only need maybe, if I'm just being honest, you know, $400 exactly more to be able to actually apply for the housing. Exactly. And maybe have no money to spare. It's $400 more to be able to do that. Um, it's bare minimum.
Otherwise, just can't get in anywhere right now. I don't know what I'm going to do unless there's just a spot with no security deposit.
which I think there might be some available from what I was looking at her or just the websites didn't fully tell you or you just got to assume to double it which is kind of what I do assume it's kind of confusing though and I'm new to it so I could totally use some advice if anybody wants to give me any or just some constructive criticism I'd really appreciate it. I'm going to end the video now though.
Hope you all have a great day or night or whatever you're up to.
I'm trying to earn $400 to 1,000. I know that's a lot, but it would tremendously increase my chances of getting into housing. I wouldn't be asking if I didn't need the help. And all I'm doing is just posting a video explaining my situation. I've been making videos like this for a year and a half. And if you want to make a difference, you can if you're able to.
No pressure though.
and really appreciate you watching.
