In cancer treatment, surgeons may coordinate with plastic surgeons to perform combined procedures where cancer cell removal and reconstruction happen in the same surgical session, allowing patients to begin healing sooner rather than undergoing separate surgeries at different times.

I'm Having Another Cancer SurgeryHinzugefügt:
Wednesday, May 27th, and today started out as a good day.
Today, caught a mouse. 3:10 a.m.
Got him. You can't have vermin running around the house.
So, when I heard the snap of that trap, it was like Christmas morning. I was all excited to see what presents there were, and there I was presented with the mouse.
So, that was the start of my day.
And I should have known then it was going to be a good day. I then got a call from the plastic surgeon's office.
So, they want to see me next week.
So, next Wednesday, I get to go in. They're going to have a look, see what they're dealing with, see what they can do, and uh be prepared for the next surgery where I go in and get the rest of the potential cancer cells taken out, removed, and then the nose gets reconstructed.
So, that was good. That's exciting. So, I get to see them and uh meet them for the first time.
Little chicken.
Little chicken Then after that, I got a call from my surgeon. I wasn't expecting that.
She called to tell me that she'd had a conversation with the plastic surgeon.
She had a conversation with the other ENTs in the board, and they decided that this was the best approach to go in, do the surgery, get the rest the margins clear, and then have the plastic surgery done right then and there.
As long as the patient was okay with that, which the patient, mwah, is okay with that. Let's get it out.
Let's get it done, and let's move on with life.
So, she said, "Oh, you should to be expecting to hear from the plastic surgeon soon." And I said, "Well, just heard from them, and I have an appointment next week. And she was like, "Oh, that's really great news."
And basically, the plastic surgeon will be the one that will find a spot.
And this the the surgeon herself, she'll come in, she'll do her bit of the surgery, and then depart and leave it up to the plastic surgeon to finish the reconstruction and close things up.
She had said that she hopes within the next month that we'll get this surgery done, and I can be on my way to healing.
What fantastic news is that? But I didn't want to get too deep into the healing phase, and then have to go in and redo the whole thing all over again. I mean, we're already 27 days into it now, and maybe another month so.
That's a long time, but it is what it is, and it gives me a head start on knowing what kind of things I can expect during the healing process this second time.
So, that's the bonus. That's the positive.
Hopefully, a little bit less stressful, and I can just get on with with healing up afterwards. Now, I've got a week to prepare for the plastic surgeon and bring up any questions that I have for them.
So, I'll be taking the time this week to think up of things and write them down.
Make sure I have them on me when I go in there, so that once I leave, I'm prepared for as much as I can be going forward with things that come up. So, should I start off with this question for the plastic surgeon? What the hell are you going to do to me? What are your plans?
Or is that a little too straightforward and to the point?
What's going on down here?
Got the road blocked down there. They got something going on here.
Got the Canadian Air Force coming up here.
Oh, there's something going on.
Live H News now.
Not on my route, so we're not going out.
Plus, I don't need to get in the middle of something.
It's Thursday, May 28th. What do I got to say today?
Uh last night I slept in my bed for the first time since the surgery.
It was uh It was okay.
Uh the head felt a little still a little odd. Had uh you know, a couple of pillows there to have it have it raised up and stuff like that. I could feel a little bit of the pressure, especially when I was trying to sleep on my sides and stuff like that.
But overall, I'm looking forward to doing it again.
The other thing was I got home last night in the mail was my check.
The settlement check from the Canadian Bread Class Action.
Got it for $47.11.
I could have got 49 if I'd given them my bank account information, but I was like, "Yeah, I'll take the check. I'll I'll let you keep a couple of bucks to send me a check."
But yeah, there you go. Those uh corporations trying to mess us over with inflated bread prices. So, got the money for that. Put that in the account and I've already looked it up. It doesn't count as income, so I don't have to declare it on taxes and it doesn't count against any uh employment insurance, so that's good.
And uh what else was I going to say?
There is a couple of com- companies that reached out to me regarding collaborations or sponsorships.
One is a a little gaming site.
Um something that they wanted me to do on live streams. I don't quite think I'm ready to do a uh dedicated live stream this weekend towards it. This is when they wanted it to happen.
So, I said, "Sorry. Um I got to get through my surgeries first, but I'd be happy to look at a collaboration later on in the future. We'll see what they say. Maybe they tell me to bugger off or maybe they say, "Oh, that'd be awesome. Let's uh let's reconnect in a couple months." So, we'll see what happens there. Another one is an outdoor um outdoor vendor supplier.
Uh they have chairs and tables and and uh even collapsible carts.
Something that I'm actually very interested in that does match what I do with my channel in the outdoors and stuff like that. And a couple of things that I was looking at getting.
So, uh I told them again, "I can't really get out right now and do a proper filming for them, so maybe after I'm done my next surgery can we reconnect in a couple months and start talking about that." So, we'll see what happens there and hopefully hopefully we can reconnect. Remember when I said that I could eat whatever I wanted?
Well, looks like that might be a little bit of a statement that I said.
Um so, since my surgery, what is it? 28 days ago now, I've put on 2 and 1/2, maybe 3 lb. I know, not a big deal, but my weight's been relatively be for a long time, so to see it go up a little bit, it means like, uh-oh, better be careful.
Could be, maybe, getting a little bit of extra muscle cuz I've been walking a little bit more now.
I've been trying to get out uh daily, so been doing that for the last uh week, and then the week before was probably a few times, so I don't know, we'll see. I'm going to keep an eye on it. Be a little careful.
Be a little bit more cognizant about what I'm uh shoveling down my gullet. I've also been looking at my nose, and I noticed it it's a little bit off kilter, and I can also notice in the front here it's it's down. There's a big bump there, and of course the divot that I've got on the side that's covered up there.
And you can see here, I don't know if you can see it well, but it's pulling over to the side here.
So, certainly different than what it used to look like.
Um I'll have to look and see if I've got a photo of just before.
I'm going to have a before and after, but uh yeah, so it'll be good to get that fixed up at the same time as I have the other surgery to get rid of the rest of the cancer cells up there.
Make me look all pretty.
It will mean after that that I will need to protect my nose from blunt force trauma because it won't be a regular broken nose or regular injury. It'll be something a little bit more serious because you could lose the cartilage that they're going to replace it with.
So, I'll have to get a new uh mountain biking helmet if I want to continue that sport, which I do.
Uh full face shield and stuff like that.
Just be a little bit more cautious, a little bit more cognizant of what I'm doing. Friday, May 29th, out for my walk again, getting some exercise.
Getting some healing done. Just doing the body good. Anyway, I just wanted to quickly add I went to the post office box today. I wasn't going to cuz I already went once this week and had a piece of mail in there, so that was awesome.
Open up the box.
Two pieces of mail. So, I got uh three pieces of mail for this week's mail bag.
That's uh really nice.
That's uh I've just Thank you.
So, I look forward to getting those open. I haven't opened them yet.
I'm out on the walk. By the time I get back, it'll be dark, so I'll wait till tomorrow morning. Really excited to open them up and uh see what's in there, see what they say.
Anyway, let's get on with this walk, eh?
Oh, yeah. If you do want to send something, just a little hello, address is down in the description below.
So, I just want to say you are awesome.
Thank you. I appreciate you coming along on these adventures, following along on the journey.
And hopefully we have a good outcome here and we get some more exciting things coming soon to a video near you.
All right.
Catch you in the next one.
See you.
