Why I Left New Zealand and Moved to the Philippines 🇳🇿🇵🇭

[00:00:17]But the um it's pretty hot out there. Probably about 35 35° and it's only what 10:00 10:30 in the morning.

[00:00:34]>> So, yeah, guys. So, um, >> so what we're going to be doing is, uh, people asking me, so people have been asking me, why did I move to the how come I moved to the, um, Philippines? Well, one of the reasons is because of uh, >> of course, >> Shirley.

[00:00:57]Um we met in 2016 and uh been on Facebook. I came here in 2018 for 1 month then went back and I was meant to come back in um in uh 2020 but because of the pandemic so I had to put it off for 2 years but now I'm here. I came here in 2023. I remember the day. Friday the 15th of September >> 2023. I came here and um then we got married on Friday the 19th of January 2024.

[00:01:32]Man, I know the dates, man. I know the dates, guys. Got to know the dates.

[00:01:39]And uh yeah, well, one of the reasons here is because Shirley, that's the main reason. Second reason is um because of the um of uh New Zealand is a beautiful country. That's where I come from, Oakland, New Zealand. It's a beautiful country, but it's like it's too expensive to survive there to live there.

[00:02:03]And plus, you don't have the freedom like here, you know, just ride your motorbike or ride your motorbike around. No helmet.

[00:02:13]So you got a lot of freedom here and and things are cheaper here, vegetables and and stuff like that. Yeah guys, so those are the reasons why I came here because um all the western countries getting expensive.

[00:02:31]Um like even in New Zealand for example the pies used to be $3 before co it used to be about $3 $4. Now you get them $550 up.

[00:02:44]Uh that's New Zealand pies and things like everything's gone up. Meat, lamb.

[00:02:49]Um mints. I used remember getting mints was only $5 a kilo. Now it's probably 10 15. So I love the country, but that's why I think um a lot of the foreigners are moving over here. and retire because they their money can their retirement can um can stretch. You know, you're living like a king, especially if you're living in Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand. Uh Vietnam's quite cheap cheap. I find Vietnam's cheaper than um the Philippines for our currency. So yeah, that's that's why a lot of Americans, Australians coming here uh to retire and you know, they go back to their country every 6 months or whatever. Um but I'll probably go just go back for a holiday and then come back. Um yeah, guys. So that's the reason why I came here.

[00:03:54]And you know, it's a relaxed life, you know. It's it's um look at this. Yeah, we're out here in the middle of the under this bridge.

[00:04:05]There's our tricycle.

[00:04:08]And it's hot outside there, man. It's nice and cool under here.

[00:04:12]But out there it is hot.
