[00:00:00]But, my first question is just to make sure, you know, people have these uh in California. Does this only have to do with the sale of these firearms, or does anybody who owns this have anything to worry about?

[00:00:12]>> Yeah, so that's a good question. And the the short answer is you're correct. That this only has to do with sales. And more specifically, if you look at the specific wording of the restriction, uh specifically subdivision A of the now new Penal Code section 27595, uh it specifically only applies to firearms dealers that are licensed under California law. Meaning, an individual themselves uh is not subject to that restriction. Furthermore, if you look at the exemptions that are listed in the Penal Code under subdivision uh C of this section, uh you'll see that one of the exceptions there is for uh transactions involving private party sales or transfers. So, in that specific example, uh a dealer is still typically required to process the sale, uh given that California requires that to be processed through a licensed dealer, but that transaction will be exempt from this restriction, allowing a dealer to still conduct private party sales after July 1st of this year. They just themselves will not be able to sell new inventory to California residents, unless another exemption is made.
