[00:00:13]This comes from Catholic historical sources. Now, think about this. If the Catholic Pope is the visible foundation of the church, the vicar of Christ, and the supreme authority over all Christians, and one of those Popes ruled like this, like Pope John XII, what does that say about the system? Because if this is the rock Rome wants us to stand on, that's not a foundation, that's a scandal. Folks, the church is not built on corrupt men in Rome. It's built upon Jesus Christ alone, the true rock. And often when you present the long list of horrible bad Popes in the history of the Roman Papacy, you find Catholics saying things like, "Well, they're just men who sin." But the reality is Rome doesn't present the Pope as just another Christian in the pew who's a sinner.

[00:00:55]He's presented as the visible foundation of the church, the vicar of Christ, somebody who's the pastor over the entire church with full supreme universal power that he can exercise anytime unhindered. Listen, when your visible foundation publicly lives like a tyrant or a criminal, that's not a oops, he sinned, that's a collapse of credibility. For the Bible-believing Christian, Christ is the solid rock on which we stand.

And if corrupt Popes [music] disprove the Catholic Church, then Judas disproves the apostles, David disproves Israel, and Peter denying Christ [music] disproves Christianity itself. That argument completely collapses pre-biblically. Yes, some [music] Popes were evil men. We Catholics don't deny that. But scripture is filled with corrupt leaders who still held real authority. Aaron made the golden [music] calf. David committed adultery and murder. Judas betrayed Christ. Did God abolish the offices he established? No, he didn't even. [music] Jesus said in Matthew 23:2-3, "The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat. So, practice [music] and observe whatever they tell you, but not what they do.

[00:02:13]We Catholics do not believe Popes are sinless. That's not our claim.

[00:02:22]Huge difference. And despite sinful leaders, the church still preserved the Trinity, [music] the canon of scripture, the Eucharist, and apostolic Christianity for 2,000 [music] years.

[00:02:34]Bad leaders do not disprove our claims, but proves it. Because how did a church [music] led by flawed men preserve the same core faith for 2,000 years?
