Google Gemini’s New Models Just Changed EVERYTHING! (Gemini Flash 3.6 & More)
Added:Google Gemini just released a bunch of brand new models and a bunch of brand new updates that completely change everything. They've launched a brand new flash model, a new flashlight model, a new video model, and a bunch of changes to Notebook Element. By the end of this video, you're going to know what all these changes are and how you could take advantage of them. Now, the first new update that we need to discuss is that Google Gemini just released a brand new model. In fact, this is so new that I'm looking on Gemini drops and don't even see anything yet. So, the time that I'm recording this is literally dropped like 45 seconds ago, which is nuts. By the time you see this, it'll be a few hours ago, but still, this is a breaking news story. So, we actually come over to Gemini, we come into the models, we could see we have 3.5 flash, we have 3.5 thinking, we have 3.1 Pro. These are the usual models that were still there just a few minutes ago. Now, if we come into Google AI Studio, what you were now going to find is if we come over into playground, we come over into models right here, we click on the top right-hand corner, and we come over here, we can see that there's now Gemini 3.6 flash and Gemini 3.5 light. And essentially, what these are are the brand new models that just got released.
And what's pretty cool here is that Gemini 3.6 flash is their latest model that balances speed with intelligence to deliver strong performance in agentic and multimodal tasks. So, essentially, what Google is saying here is that they're now making their flash models incredibly good for agentic tasks and multimodal tasks, aka watching videos, looking at images, things like that.
Gemini 3.5 flashlight is their fastest, most cost-effective 3.5 model for high production execution. And what we could actually do right here is compare these to the other one. So, if we come over here and we type in something like just flash, we're actually going to be able to see Gemini 3.6 flash versus Gemini 3.5 flash. We could see that Gemini 3.6 flash is not only a better model, but is also cheaper to run. We see the input is 150, the output 750. 3.5 flash input is 150, the output is $9. So, not only is it cheaper, it's also a much better model. In addition to that, if we see the cutoff date right here, this is January 2025. If we come to Gemini 3.6, it's March 2026. So, it's got more context, it's got a higher window, it's got a the same input amount, it's got a cheaper output amount, and it has way more knowledge here, which is incredible. If we look at Flash Light, we can also compare that by doing this right here, and we could see the Gemini 3.1 Flash Light is actually going to be cheaper than Gemini 3.5, but Gemini 3.5 is going to be way more powerful. It's got the same knowledge cutoff right here, and it's just going to be faster and a smarter model. But again, if you want to be able to take advantage of these models, right now you can only do it through Google AI Studio at the time of me recording this video, which is around 9:00 in the morning. Hopefully, by the end of the day or tomorrow, you're going to see both of these models actually inside of Google Gemini. But that's just the first update that we wanted to cover. The second update is now, when we come inside of Notebook LM, we're going to see this has been completely renamed right here, and it's gotten a bunch of new features. So, if we come over here to notebooklm.google.com, we're now going to see that this is called Gemini Notebook. It might not seem like a big change and just a branding change, but actually it did change a bunch of things under the hood.
The first thing I wanted to show you that they changed is now, if we come over to collections right here, we can actually create collections. So, if we have multiple notebooks that are actually for the same thing, we can now add those together. For example, maybe I have something that's called hobbies, and this is where I'm going to put my car stuff, and this is where I'm going to put my make.com stuff, and this is where I'm going to put this AI agent stuff. We could click on create, and now what this actually allowed us to do is if we click in here, we could organize all of these into these specific things right here. And this makes this way easier for you to be able to organize all of your different notebooks. In addition to that, you could add in emojis right here, which I think is pretty cool. By just clicking on add emoji or remove emoji, and we'll see that that adds and removes it. In addition to that, we could see that NotebookLM actually released this press release right here, and this actually tells us exactly what really changed.
So, we could see that there were actually a bunch of different under-the-hood changes right here. So, we could see that this change now allows Gemini notebook to write and execute code natively, helping us conduct better complex data analysis that's actually grounded in our sources. This is available today for Google AI Ultra users and Workspace users, but it's going to roll out to all pro users over the web in the next coming weeks. And basically, what this is going to allow is new output formats and deeper analysis, which is basically Google Gemini saying, "Hey, we have a bunch of brand new upgrades coming. Just stay patient with this new name change." In addition to that, they finally made this so that sync. So, we could see we can now take our notebooks everywhere, just like a physical notebook. Your digital notebooks will go wherever you work. You can access them, you could create them inside of the Gemini app with full cross-app syncing between the Gemini app and the Gemini notebook experience if you have that. In addition, very soon, they're going to be bringing notebooks directly into AI mode in search, which is pretty cool. Now, before we get into the rest of those changes, like the new models that they dropped and so much more, I wanted to make sure that you were using Google Gemini the right way.
Because now there's a brand new way that you can actually audit how you're using Google Gemini for your specific role, your specific scenario, and it will give you prompts that you should be using, automations you should be using, gems that you should set up, and so much more. Check this out. Now, the way that you're going to do this is actually by using this tool right here, LLM Helper, that allows you to get 10 times more out of ChatGPT, Claude, or Google Gemini.
Because what this allows you to do is actually run an audit of how you're using your LLM. In addition to that, they give you a bunch of prompts that you need to make sure that you're using inside of Gemini chat to be your claw to get the most out of it and what the optimal settings are, but we could simply come over here and ask which Gemini or which LLM are we supercharging. We're going to click on Gemini. You simply copy and paste this prompt right here, bring it over into Gemini and then from there, you're going to paste the explanation that you got right here, which is going to be your usage report and then you put in your role, what tasks you wish you could automate or do better with your LLM, the tools that you live in and MCP connectors that you should get set up and then this is actually going to go through and give you an audit right here. We could see that we could actually view this. I made this one yesterday for Gemini and this literally goes through everything that I could ever want here. If I click on download, I could actually download this right here and show you exactly what this looks like. This literally goes through everything that we should be doing differently. Gives you a bunch of different prompts that you should check out that you could copy and paste. Gives you a bunch of different automations that you should set up. Again, we could literally just copy and paste them and it gives us a bunch of other things like different Google gems that we should set up, MCP servers that we should consider, optimization opportunities based on how we could be using Google Gemini better for our specific situation and it literally gives you the copy and paste prompts, all of this and this is something that you should be going through and doing every single week, basically auditing how you're using Google Gemini for your exact specific situation so that you could use it better. And the best part about LLM Helper is that if you go to the pin comment below, you could get started with it today. In fact, you could get your audit literally the next few minutes so that you could get the most out of Google Gemini because if you're not doing this, then what's going to happen is you're going to keep using Gemini the wrong way or you're just not going to get as much as you could be getting out of Gemini if you're using the right prompts, using the right automations, using the right gems and setting up the right things for your specific use case. So go to that pin comment below and get started with it today. Now, the next update that we need to talk about is actually going to be Google's Omni models. Now, if we come over here, we come over into videos. If we just get rid of this text, come into video, we can now see that this model is brand new. We see Gemini Omni flash preview right here, and this is insane.
This is the most powerful video generation and conversational editing model that Google has ever released. You could bring in text and images to life ascending videos, or you could effortlessly refine your outputs through simple natural language. And I want to show you just how crazy this is. So, the first thing that you're going to notice is we could actually add in here if we wanted to. We could change the aspect ratio over here, make it 16 by 9 or 9 by 16. We could change the video duration, we could change the resolution, the frame rate, the thinking level right here, which is pretty awesome. In addition to that, if we actually come over into videos now from inside of Gemini, we're also going to see that Omni exists here, and we could do a ton of different things like create all of these different types of videos.
For example, I'm going to come over here and I'm going to say create a video of a King Charles Cavalier running through a field in Montana, and then this is actually going to go off using Omni, and this is going to create this. Omni creates things faster, creates things better, creates things more realistic, and this is really good at creating like talking AI avatar videos and things like that, which is pretty awesome. In fact, if I actually come over here and we click on video explanation right here, and we scroll up, we could see I use my avatar right here and say create a video explaining what MCP is in AI. And I want to show you exactly what this looks and sounds like because this is pretty incredible. Mind you, I had a longer beard, I had longer hair, and I wasn't wearing a hat when I actually created this video, but check this out.
>> MCP stands for model context protocol.
It's a new standard for AI. Think of it as a universal connector linking AI models to data.
>> So, think about that. It's turning its head, it's changing, it's got emotions, it's moving my hands, it's adding in those animations, and every single part of this was done with AI. And if we wanted to change anything about this, we could say something like please add in subtitles to the video. Don't change anything else and then guess what this can actually do. This can now go through and actually edit the video for us and generate a new one. Because like I was showing you earlier, this model doesn't just create stuff. This model also actually goes through and can edit videos for us. Now that Cavalier video looks like it's done, so I want to check that out and then we'll come back over to this video and see what the edited version looks like. So if we come over here, we could see that this actually did an incredible job at this and I want to see exactly what this looks like. So look, incredibly realistic, has the dog huffing and puffing, looks like a real dog, Field Montana looks absolutely incredible. This is really really good.
I mean, even look at the details on the face, on everything. This looks absolutely incredible right here. I'm going to turn the sound off so that we could see the rest of this and see it does different angles, different shots, it's changing the camera, it's moving things. This looks absolutely incredible and you could use this to create B-roll, to create standalone videos, to create pretty much anything that you want. And to show this off even more, I actually created this other one right here. So I added in a photo of a watch. So this is going to be a Rolex right here that we created on Grok and what I asked this to do is turn this into an ad to show you how you could just upload photos and turn them into ads with this model. But first, I wanted to show you that this is now done. So we can actually come over here and see that this added subtitles in here. Again, absolutely incredible that it went through and did this. It didn't change anything else about the video, still have her animations in there and we could have been more specific about what we wanted the subtitles to look like. If we wanted them to to be yellow with a black outline, it would have been able to do that. So this can not only generate videos or transform photos into videos or just take a prompt and turn it into a video, it can also edit videos, which is just absolutely nuts and their image capability and their video capability only continues to get better and better.
Feels like every single day. Now, I actually do have breaking news right here again in the middle of the video, which is absolutely nuts. Now, when I load up Gemini across all my accounts, I see 3.6 flash and 3.6 thinking everywhere. So, it looks like they've now fully rolled out this model. So, think about this. You found out about it in the beginning of this video and now you know that it's fully rolled out, which is crazy. Okay, so now we can see exactly what this ad actually looks like. I want to watch it together. We can see that in the thumbnail photo it says also go a little messed up. So, I'm kind of curious to see what the actual video looks like.
>> Testimony to excellence.
The Rolex Day-Date.
Pursuit of perfection.
An icon of prestige.
>> Okay, so this looks incredible. The only thing that I would change is, like I said, just the actual what day of the week it is right here looks a little bit messed up. We could probably go through, ask it to edit that. It'll probably change that, make it incredible. But otherwise, this made an absolutely beautiful ad with a great voiceover, incredibly professional. I love this.
Now, if you enjoyed this video and you want to learn about a bunch of other updates that Google Gemini just released, I dropped this video just a few days ago and I would strongly suggest to check it out. I'll see you over there.
