Edexcel iGCSE English Language Paper 1 Predictions 2026 with Miss Adams Teaches

[00:00:00]Hi everyone. Welcome to Miss Adams Predicts English language. It is the long-awaited Edexcel International GCSE English language A paper one.

[00:00:12]This is the standard series, not the R series. The R series will be coming out later today, if not today, tomorrow. So, just hold on for that one. Um we're going to have a little look through all of the past papers, particularly focusing on the most recent ones. See if we can spot any trends or patterns. I've got to say it, you know what I'm going to say. We don't have crystal balls.

[00:00:34]Please do not rely entirely on prediction videos. Make sure you're being really thorough with your approach to revision so that you are covered no matter what comes up. That being said, let's get predicting.

[00:00:47]Okay. So, last series, November 2025, was Beyond the Sky and the Earth.

[00:00:53]We had Young and Dyslexic last year in June. And then you can see Danger of the Single Story, Game of Polo with the Hadleigh goat. Um and 127 Hours before that. You can read the rest. So, there are certain um texts that have had a little more coverage than others. 127 Hours has been up twice and it's um been on the specimen. Um but you never know.

[00:01:17]Um there are a number of texts that have only come up once now. And so, those are the first ones to kind of consider.

[00:01:26]So, The Explorers Daughter has only come up once and not since January 2019. So, that's the kind of obvious one. But because it's the obvious one, it also perhaps means that it's not going to come up because as we know, exam boards have got to try and be as unpredictable as possible.

[00:01:46]Chinese Cinderella and Passage to Africa have also only come up um once. And again, if you notice, Chinese Cinderella not since June 22.

[00:01:57]A Passage to Africa was June 2023. So, if we were just going on the odds of what haven't we seen as much as others, then one of those three would seem quite likely.

[00:02:08]We've obviously also got a number of texts. So, the rest of the texts have been seen twice other than 127 Hours, as I said.

[00:02:16]Um and I think if you if you were thinking about what's been seen twice but not for a while, it would be Explorers or Boys Messing About because we've not had that one since November um 2021.

[00:02:29]And then so, you know, if they if they're trying not to be predictable, i.e. these three, which are the obvious, then that one would be the one that I would think would be the most likely next. Um in that realm, you've also got um things like H is for Hawk and um A Game of Polo. Now, A Game of Polo has actually only ever been seen once, but it was quite recent, June 2024. But that, you know, they can do that. They that that can still happen. So, I would I would definitely sort of have a little think about that one. And H is for Hawk has been seen twice, but again, 2018 and 2023. So, again, it's sort of like further down the list. If like I'm not a gambling woman, if I was putting money on it, but I'm not, uh then I'd probably go with one of the ones on the screen, but I would just want you to be really, really mindful of the other things that they that could come up because all exam boards have have got to be unpredictable. So, as you know, you know what I'm going to say, the most important thing is that you revise broadly and widely because who knows what happen might what might happen. 127 Hours might just pop up for the fourth time. Who knows? So, just be really, really thorough and you'll be golden.
