It is a profound irony when a celebration of victory becomes a pretext for the systematic destruction of one's own city. This descent into anarchy reveals a fragile social contract that no sporting trophy can ever repair.

Paris is in SHAMBLES right now 😭Hinzugefügt:
One thing I'm never going to understand is when people destroy their city after they win a championship in a sport.
Paris St. Germaine just won the Champions League final. And when I tell you the stuff coming out of Paris right now, it it doesn't look real. People are lighting things on fire, including cars.
There's been explosions in the middle of the streets. Cops had to go outside with riot shields. There's flares going off and people are looting buildings. When I saw these videos, I thought they were fake posts of old videos from some political riot in Paris ages ago. But no, this all happens today. Even the Eiffel Tower is covered in smoke right now because there was a fire at the base. This is like 10 times worse than what Philadelphia looked like after they won the Super Bowl. And honestly, I don't even think New York will look like this if the Knicks win the finals. Paris is on another level. To think they call this the city of love.
