Successful online business requires building digital assets (such as digital products, affiliate marketing systems, AI agencies, or SaaS platforms) that generate income without ongoing personal involvement, rather than selling time for money; the key to success is identifying the business model that best aligns with your strengths, interests, and desired lifestyle through a self-audit process, then focusing relentlessly on one model for 2-3 years until achieving significant income before expanding.

How To Choose The Best Online Business To Start In 2026Added:
I made $20 million online in my 20s and I'm 30 years old now. And today I'm going to be sharing with you what actually works for online business.
There's a lot of people online that talk about online business. I've been doing it for the last nine years, almost 10 years. And I am here to tell you what actually works. This is my uh screenshot of my earnings from one of my businesses that I uh ran in my 20s. It was called Ecom Freedom. And I basically grew from literally no starting capital. I uh started cleaning windows and then I basically injected that money into e-commerce back in 2017 and I started making YouTube videos and then I took all of that all the knowledge that I was uh gaining made YouTube videos about it and then created ecom freedom which went on to become uh one of the largest Amazon FBA and Shopify courses in the world if not the largest I think it was the largest by amount of students. So here's what works and here's what doesn't right now. What works starting something that can make money without you in the future. So this is something really really important. This is actually uh my greatest realization in online business uh in my entire career.
It's that the people that succeed, they don't sell their time for money. Even you know people that work remotely, they think, oh, you know, they have freedom because they work remote. No, the people that succeed, they're building digital digital assets or they've already built digital assets. So, I'm talking about digital products, affiliate marketing, an AI agency that's fully automated, a SAS or web app, so basically creating an app or a software as a service, that's what SAS stands for, an automated e-commerce site. So, these are just a handful. So, in 2026, it's not about one business model. Even though there might be a lot of YouTube videos about, oh, you know, you want to do this AI automation agency, whatever. You know, I don't even know what that is to be honest with you. I've seen some of these people making videos about this online.
And to be honest with you, it's very gimmicky. It's not a way to actually achieve freedom. To actually achieve freedom, you need to build something valuable that actually delivers value uh to a particular niche or a particular group of people. And that's exactly what I've done through my e-commerce products when I started and then through ecom freedom by teaching people how to do what I was doing to make money. So, the best online business for you to choose is the one that best fits your strengths, interests, and the life that you want to live. The number one thing that holds people back is not knowing the steps to actually make it happen.
There is a lot of garbage on YouTube and sifting through it takes a lot of time and it's mind-numbingly boring. So, as I mentioned, I've done all of these except for the AI agency one. I haven't actually done an AI agency, but I will be uh probably starting one because uh part of me being back honestly u I like starting online businesses and my entire whole mission on YouTube now is to document me building. I want to share and build with you live and show you um you know just how possible it is to actually start a successful online business. So, um that's the purpose of this channel. So, what is the fastest way to succeed? Literally finding someone who's already done it successfully, watching their content, taking their course, and taking action.
You don't need to buy a course, but you do need a structured path. And that's the reason that people buy courses. They want to cut through the noise. They want to learn directly from someone who has already done what you want to do. Of course, the natural question comes up, and I had this question myself when I started. Well, what if I don't buy a course and I just, you know, I just do it for free through free YouTube videos like this one. If you choose the free route, the danger is wasting lots of time and trying to piece together everything randomly for years. So, you really need a structured step-by-step approach to actually show you how it's done, no matter which uh which of these businesses that you are looking at or you're thinking of starting. And no, this is not a pitch for my program at all. I'm just telling you the truth.
Literally, the entire purpose of me making videos on YouTube is to um honestly just, you know, share what's real in online business and document me building. Uh so yeah, that's just the honest truth. Like the people that have taken programs, like out of everybody that I've known that has succeeded in my almost decade of uh online business, of being in this particular industry, everybody took a course when they started. Whether it was Tai Lopez back in 2017, whether it was Sam Ovenans who uh, you know, ran consulting.com and I was part of his mastermind, whether it was literally any big, you know, what you would call a guru, they started with a course and then they succeeded with that business model and they branched out. That is the truth. So, one thing in common about all the online businesses that I mentioned here is that they're all uh what I call a digital asset. So, the new internet economy is split into two groups. Number one, those that work 9 to5 and sell their time for money.
Number two, those that put their time into building digital assets that make money and scale without the owner having to be involved. And anybody can build digital asset. And this is really what is going to separate people that are going to stay poor and people that are not going to have, you know, money or are not going to be free from those that have freedom. It's the people that are working to build digital assets. The entire reason that I've succeeded is because I focus my time on building digital assets. meaning uh putting my time into things that uh could make money without me having to wake up in the morning, clock in and sell my time for money, right? So, I didn't, you know, decide to quit my job at one of the biggest Canadian banks back when I started um you know, to go and basically become a freelancer online and selling my time for money as a graphic designer.
know I knew that uh I was putting my time into Amazon FBA at the time uh you know uh creating online brands and selling physical products into into things that are scalable into things that could scale to millions of dollars without me actually uh having to you know show up if I decided that I was you know I didn't want to work a day or a week you know it was fine the business still made money every single one of those days and if you asked 10 millionaires who made their money like me in the last 10 years you would realize that all of them share the following things and I'm sharing this with you because just to show you how possible it is. Like honestly, every single millionaire that has made their money in the last 10 years, they would all answer like this. They chose one thing and they found someone already doing it. They took their course or mentorship or found their tactics somehow and copied them. They focus relentlessly on that one thing, passing the obstacles because obstacles are inevitable. So failure is just a part of the game. It just is. I know you've probably heard it a million times. It's not it's not possible to live a life totally without failure. Uh it's the way you treat failure. So the reason why people fail is because they choose to give up on their dream. That is literally the only difference between those that succeed and actually achieve their dreams and those that don't. The ones that don't choose to give up. If you ask every single person that succeeded, they did not give up. If you ask every single person that did not succeed, they're still making excuses.
So that is the only difference. It's not that they were forced to. Literally, no matter what it is, you can get past it.
no matter what it is, as long as you have willpower and as long as um you know uh the your dream is that important to you and that's the truth. And so every single millionaire, they focused on one thing. They focused on that business for two to three years straight without any distractions. So they didn't, you know, they didn't decide, okay, I'm going to do Amazon or I'm going to do Shopify or I'm going to do um you know, an agency and then like a month or two or three later, oh, you know, I'm going to I don't really think an agency is good. I'm going to do affiliate marketing. And they kept jumping. the people that I know that kept jumping from thing to thing, they're still stuck sub 10k a month. So, they're still stuck, you know, making only a few thousand dollar a month. So, it's really important not to jump from thing to thing. You really want to focus on one online business uh uh one model out of the ones that I mentioned. And there are a few more and I'll make some more videos on that. But, uh focus on one thing until you have hit a respectable amount of profit per month and you've had that for a while. So, I would say honestly focus on one thing until you've hit at least 30k a month and see if you can scale it to 100k a month. Okay? Because that's what I did with ecom. That's what I did with um with with my course business as well. Uh and then I reached a certain cap, you know, and then I decided to kind of uh you know, I made a decision whether I wanted to continue, whether I wanted to retire it after a while or just let it cruise, right? Or expand into another business. And then finally, they cashed out or expanded into other businesses or retired as I mentioned. So after focusing on a particular business model for two to three years straight, that's when you actually have the luxury of choice. So how do you actually start? So number one is you need to do a self audit and you need to figure out the best business path for you. This is really really important. So it's not about oh like you know the least saturated business model in 2026 or or you know 2027. It's not about uh the easiest um way to make money. Okay? Like there are harder ways to make money.
There are easier ways to make money. And I'll I'll be honest with you there are.
For example, working at McDonald's every day is a lot harder of a way of making money than creating a profitable digital course that sells, which is what I did.
So, you know, however, it's just a different type of work. And that knowledge of putting your time into a scalable digital asset, which is what a course is, for example, or any one of those other business models that I mentioned, that is literally what separates those that are stuck working at McDonald's and those that are millionaires. Okay. So, for your diagnosis, number one, ask yourself the question, what kind of life do I want to live? Who do I want to trade places with if I know anybody? So, anybody out there, whether that person's in your life like personally or online, um think about if there's anybody out there that uh you would like to trade places with.
If there isn't, that's totally fine.
Okay, then just proceed to number two.
Uh number two is what business do they run and who do they serve? Okay, so again, if if you don't have anybody, skip to number three. What do people say that I'm good at? So for me personally, I've always been told, not very frequently, of course. It's not like I've been bombarded with compliments or anything, but you know, whenever people complimented me, they would say, "Oh, you're a naturally good speaker." And uh for me, you know, things like uh writing speeches and essays and stuff and, you know, it's always been easy. And then when I started making videos, uh it got easy pretty quick. Of course, my first few videos, I was nervous and things like that. I had a lot of, you know, ums and ifs and uh uh, you know, and a lot of screw-ups. But um over time now I can pretty much almost one take a video uh most of the time. So um yeah if I had a good night of sleep and you know if I feel great. So uh number four what do I like? That's the final question you want to ask in your diagnosis. And out of these answers will be the seed of which business you actually should start.
Okay. So um I cannot say for everybody yeah you know guys like Amazon FBA is the best uh business to start. I focused on Amazon for many years because I saw it as the most accessible entry point uh into online business for beginners who wanted to you know reach a a solid 10k 20k a month and that was true for a long time. However, and I'm going to make another video on this topic, Amazon now is just very saturated and due to the geopolitical situation in the world right now due to all the wars and due to the uncertainty in the world and due to the increase in supply costs, gas prices and things like that, shipping costs, it's not a very viable business model. I wouldn't say that uh you know for a beginner it's the easiest at all and that's why um I would not recommend Amazon for most of you. Does that mean that Amazon is not at all a good business model anymore? No, it's not.
You know uh in fact I still have a brain on Amazon, you know, and and sometimes you know I focus on putting work into it to grow it and stuff and I might document that as well. But you know honestly it's just about what uh your answers to these questions are. So, for example, if you're naturally good at like, you know, you like working at the computer, you like uh systems and you like running numbers, well then an agency would be good would be good for you. Or maybe even e-commerce or maybe, you know, running ads for people. Again, that would be an agency. And with AI now, if you combine any one of these businesses with AI, it's incredible because all there are all these tools out there that I didn't have when I started that just turns a 30-day job into like a two-day job. And I'm going to document all of the tools out there, all the best AI stuff on this channel as well as I'm learning it because AI is relatively new to me. Like yeah, you know, I've been on chat GBT for like uh two years or whatever, you know, talking to it, but only recently have I actually started implementing AI and using it for business. So I'm documenting that on my channel. I just made a video about uh creating a website entirely with AI through Vibe Coding and with uh GitHub Copilot, pretty much like Claude Code.
So I'm going to make more videos on that. And um by the way uh I made the freedom pathfinder for you to know which business you should begin. So it's pretty much like a you just answer a few questions and it's going to show you exactly what the best u AI business model is for you to start that will allow you to achieve success in the fastest possible time. The link for that is down below. And by the way, when I'm recording this right now, I haven't made it yet. I'm still making it. So by the time you're watching this, because I'm going to have it done in the next few days and I'm going to make a video on me actually creating it with AI, you'll be able to watch that. Just check the description. You'll see. Uh, so by the time you're watching this, um, it's definitely going to be done and you'll be able to, uh, see exactly which business you should, uh, start. So, the difference between me and, um, most of the other online YouTuber guys out there or girls that, you know, they've started recently, so they've really only started making money recently. They've only really probably made money with one business model or two. I've made money with probably five or six business models at this point online. So, personal branding, digital products, affiliate marketing, SAS, because I had a SAS for my ecom freedom. Uh, I actually had a dev team and everything.
I created my own course platform. What else? There's there must be a fif I did crypto as well, but I wouldn't call that a business model. Um, I did an agency very briefly. So, there was definitely five or six. I'm probably missing, you know, two. Um, and obviously e-commerce as well, Amazon FBA and Shopify to be uh, you know, to be specific. So, um, that's the difference between me and these other people. So, I really have seen for nine years what works, what doesn't. The biggest thing is to do this diagnosis and pick your own door. Pick something that will actually suit your life. I've seen people that have failed and, you know, have basically spent all the all their time, wasted all their time by trying to copy somebody else's script, somebody else's door. It's really important to find what um works for you. And you'll know when a business is really working well for you when yeah there might be obstacles. You might even have a failure or two, but your time to success is not that long. You know, the people that, for example, for me, when I started with Amazon FBA, it only took me like 3 months and a few failures, a few failed products. I wouldn't even call them failures because I made my money back. I broke even. But it only took me a few products to actually succeed.
Whereas, I've heard, you know, from people um where it's like, oh, you know, they've been trying for a year or two.
And that makes me ask the question, I don't know if they're actually like halfassing it or they just keep banging their head against a piece of wall that, you know, they shouldn't be banging their head against, you know, because the business that is going to work for you is going to work relatively quickly.
It's going to feel natural and it's going to just feel not like a constant headache. If what you're doing feels like a constant headache, it's not meant for you. Go back to the diagnosis and answer the questions. Okay? So, but again, if you have a failure or two, that's fine. you know that's fine as long as um you know you persist through the failures because you still might have a few failures even with the business that you're meant to pursue which is what I had. Okay. So uh the natural progression uh in online business success is starting with one business and then you naturally attract other streams of income and this is how the average millionaire has seven streams of income. We've all heard the quote the average millionaire has seven streams of income. That's because they start with one thing they focus on it and over the years they attract or build others naturally. I'm building out my newest startup Freedom OS and Freedom Code live on YouTube right now. It's my newest digital asset online course community and the whole purpose of it is to show people exactly how to build their first successful online business, basically like a complete online business university. So, if you want to watch me do it live, which is the first, you know, I've never done it before on this channel where I'm actually like building my business live and showing you every part of it and you want me to uh show you how I'm growing it to eight to nine figures, subscribe because I know that this is going to be a success.
This is exactly what people need. I've done it before, I'm doing it again. If you want Lamborghinis and easy get-richqu AI automation uh watching 22-year-old vaping dudes or girls who just made their first $1,000 online, you can go watch them. Don't subscribe. This is not for you. This is for the people who actually want to achieve freedom and wealth in the long term, not just for a year or two and then be back stuck in the rat race. So, click the link below for the Freedom Pathfinder. It's going to be right there. It's going to tell you exactly what the best business is for you to start. And also it's going to give you the first few modules of Freedom OS uh to actually show you exactly how to build that chosen business
