Where Did The Javanese People Come From? #history #java #indonesia #shorts #aivideo #nusantaraAdded:
Where did the Javanese people come from?
And how did they build powerful empires on Java, an island in modern-day Indonesia?
Thousands of years ago, their Aranesian ancestors left Taiwan, sailed through the Philippines, and finally settled on Java between [music] 1500 BC and 1,000 BC. As time passed, traders from India arrived by sea, bringing Hinduism and Buddhism, which mixed with local beliefs into a unique [music] Javanese culture.
In central Java, near the fertile lands around Mount Marapi volcano, the Mataram Kingdom rose as the heart of early Javanese civilization. Soon after powerful dynasties built massive temples like Borabud and Prammanan creating one of the greatest centers of art and religion in Southeast Asia. However, a massive volcanic eruption in 1006 buried many of these temples forcing leaders to shift power east toward the Bratis River. Even so, Javanese influence spread across Southeast Asia, [music] reaching places like Sumatra, Bali, Southern Thailand, the Philippines, and Cambodia. By the late 1200s, King Kurtanagara of Singasari [music] expanded this power, sending expeditions across islands and controlling major trade routes like the Strait of [music] Malaca. But after his death, a brief rebellion collapsed Singasari until his son-in-law Raden Wijaya rose with Mongol support and founded the Majapahit Empire under leaders like Hayam Muruk and Gajamara. Majapahit became a dominant regional power controlling [music] trade and territory across Southeast Asia with its capital at Truulan. Sources are in the description.
