This critique effectively exposes how Western celebrity activism often masks cultural arrogance under the guise of universal morality. It serves as a necessary reminder that true sustainability must respect local ecological contexts rather than imposing a one-size-fits-all ideology.

Billie Eilish ticked off the internet.Añadido:
Why exactly is everybody getting worked up over what Billy Isish said? No, seriously, why why is everybody so upset about it? Why is this a big thing in the discourse right now? In case you are somehow blissfully ignorant of what she said, she was asked in L magazine last week, "What's one hill you die on?" And Isish, who has been a vegan since she was 12, said, "Y'all ain't going to like me for this one. Eating meat is inherently wrong. Two things cannot coincide. I love all animals so much and I eat meat. Sorry, you could eat meat.
Go for it. You could love animals, but you can't do both. Everyone has big big feelings over this and it's prompted an awful lot of think pieces and an awful lot of back and forth. And I do want to say I'm not dismissing any of the folks who are are rightly concerned with someone with a massive platform who has done a lot of good saying things like directly to Mark Zuckerberg, she said give away your money, right? She's given a tremendous amount of her money to charity. I think something like 20 plus% of her wealth in the last year and a half. People People are complex and often contradictory. I think that Billy Ey is wants to do good. I think she has a lot of good ideas, but damn, that statement was really really harmful. But also, why is it something that we're surprised by? White vegan says something problematic and low-key racist. It is yet another fork found in kitchen moment. And I just I'm not quite sure why people are are caring that much because it's such a predictable thing for a wealthy white vegan to say. Now, I'm not dismissing in any way all of the discourse on native TikTok cuz I I for one am someone who's been highly critical, highly critical of white vegans who say [ __ ] like this because it's racist. It's eugenicist. It's absolutely attempting to commit cultural genocide. Telling indigenous people that you are morally wrong. You are impure.
You are evil. You are bad. You can't love animals if you practice your traditional food ways if you if you live your culture. What a stupid [ __ ] privileged thing to say. I mean, if Billy Isish wants to know what hill I will die on, it is the hill of respecting indigenous people's food ways and calling out white vegans for their privilege and also talking about how veganism on its own, like that's fine as a personal choice. That is fine as a personal choice. But the minute it becomes your crusade, where you want to superimpose your way of eating on other people, where you want to make moral judgments about other people's cultures, about other people's food ways, where you are so [ __ ] clueless as to how those uh societies have evolved their ways of eating to be sustainable in the ecosystem that they are in and how a majority of people around the world could not possibly possibly be vegan.
Like your your ignorance is no excuse.
the colonialist hubris to take up the legacy of residential boarding schools in this country and essentially say kill the Indians, save the child, trying to erase a people's entire culture, entire way of being and living and relating to each other and to nature. That's what that's what you're doing when you say [ __ ] like if you eat meat, you can't you can't possibly love animals and that everybody should be vegan. Indigenous people around the world should be subjected to a white privileged vegans's way of eating. They should be forced to eat. However, Billy Eyelash thinks that they should eat. It is absolutely peak settler colonialism. It's absolutely peak white supremacy. And I know that people get mad at me when I say it, but it's it's always it's always some wealthy white vegan who has no no understanding of the harm that they perpetuate when they say [ __ ] like this.
And so when we're discussing it again again when this is happening once again I just want a safe fork found in kitchen like of of course of course that is the kind of arrogance the kind of entitlement the kind of white supremacy that you get from a white vegan activist. No desire to understand how other cultures live and operate. No desire to understand that your way of eating is not the pure and right way.
No, no willingness to understand how harmful it is. Every time I bring up this subject, I get white vegans in my comments who think that they have a right to tell indigenous people how to eat. The comments get very, very, very racist very quickly. Every time I talk about this issue, I get white vegans telling me, "Well, if you think that people are allowed their traditional food ways, do you support cannibalism?
Do you not see how racist that is?"
Every time I bring this up, I get white vegans being like, "If you think that we should support people's traditional cultures, do you then say that child marriage is okay?" Do you not understand how racist that is? To to try and equate those things, to try and say that those are the same things. I mean, we're not even beginning to touch on the ways that it is completely environmentally unsustainable to demand that everybody be vegan. That would be ecologically devastating. Um, that's the reason that all of these cultures have evolved to eat the food that is locally abundant and sustainably harvested, which again, 97% of human beings are not vegan. Even those cultures that are traditionally vegan, they satisfy their nutritional needs because they are consuming significant uh quantities of insects and other life that is mixed up in the grains and legumes that they consume.
Human beings are not evolved to be vegan. But if that is your personal choice, if that is your personal choice to be vegan, that's entirely different than statements like the one that Billy Eyish made. trying to superimpose your way of eating, trying to make a moral judgment about other people's cultures, believing that your way of doing things is the pure and right way. And you have a right to judge and shame and deride entire cultures, the majority of people on Earth and their traditional food ways. Again, peak settler colonialism, peak white supremacy. And I know I've made multiple videos in the past about the connection between veganism and the alt-right, and I get really, really angry vegans in my comments every time I do it because they're like, I'm I'm politically on the left. Um, vegan activism is an alt-right pipeline.
Anytime that you demand purity, that you make a moral judgment about other people's foods and cultures, anytime you desire to control and restrict my my dog is upset about it. Anytime you desire to control and restrict what other people eat, anytime you associate foods with purity, anytime you associate certain behaviors with purity and being clean and right and the way that other people do things is dirty and immoral, um that im immediately becomes an alt-right pipeline. When white people do it, it is immediately a pathway to um you know, I was going to say neo-nazism, but it's just like straight up Nazism. I really encourage folks to go back and watch my old video on blood and soil because um there is a long legacy a long legacy of Nazis being vegans and supporting that not not as a not as a um a dietary choice, not as um not as a sustainability choice because veganism is not about sustainability. It is environmentally unsustainable. It it very much is a choice about purity, about a demonstration of purity, a demonstration of discipline and commitment to an ideology. But anyway, I digress. what Billy Eyish said, like I I just I understand the importance of native creators pushing back against it.
I understand the importance of rejecting her premise and and calling out the harm that she's doing with her massive platform um by making these kinds of statements the way that she is supporting whether knowingly and willingly or not, right? Like maybe her intent is is not to be racist, but the impact is what matters. The impact is lending credibility, credence to a mindset, an ideology that says my my white privileged way of doing things is right and I have a right to tell um people from other cultures how to eat. I have a right to restrict them. I have a right to destroy their culture. I have a right to pass judgment on them. Billy Isish making her absolutely predictable privileged white vegan statement just lends credibility. It adds fuel to the white supremacist fire. And I appreciate the discourse trying to educate her about that. I hope she sees some of those videos. I hope that she I hope that she realizes the harm that she does when she makes statements like that. But I'm also I'm also just frustrated with the number of think pieces I've seen where people are shocked and surprised and hurt.
again, wealthy white vegan who has spent her entire life living in privilege, surrounded by wealth, thinking that she has a right to pass judgment on other people's food ways on other people's cultures and to say something low-key racist even though everybody thinks that she is, you know, like woke and one of the good ones. Human beings are complex and contradictory. I'm not saying Billy Eyish is bad. I'm not saying cancel her.
This is a chance for us to to maybe educate around this issue, but also at the same time like don't be surprised.
Don't be hurt. Don't be surprised. It is a fork founding kitchen moment. Okay, that's all that's all I want to say about that for
