Most Prescribed By Doctors After Surgery ( #heartattack #cardiacrehab #hearthealth #motivation )Added:
Do you know the number one thing that doctors prescribe after most surgeries?
Might not be what you think. It's actually walking.
That's right. After most major surgeries, including open heart surgeries, your doctors and nurses will want to get you up and moving as quickly as possible because walking is the foundation of all our good health.
It lowers our blood pressure, can improve our circulation.
Walking can help you avoid blood clots.
Walking encourages deep breathing, which can help keep your lungs clear. So, I would encourage you to get out and walk and make walking part of your fitness foundation.
I know in the 2 years since my second heart attack, walking has been a game changer for me. And speaking of games, we've actually created a walking game that encourages community and one another and it's called, ironically, the pacemaker game. If you're interested in a walking app or a walking game that helps build community, that can encourage you and help you encourage others, please comment pacemaker in the comments and I'll get you information on it.
Thank you.
Also, remember, may your heart stay healthy and your stress stay low. This is Cardiac Reinvention.
