[00:00:00][music] [music] [music] >> Hello Nagaland. We are here today at the Naga Heritage Village and we are about to go check out the different morungs of the different tribes of Nagaland. Let's go. Come on.

[00:00:32]>> [music] >> Hi guys. So we are now at the Angami morung as you see the beautiful beautiful morung like a house almost, right? Made behind us. Right. And Kohima is predominantly for the Angami tribe.

[00:01:01]Angami is one of the major tribes in Nagaland. So we will go and check out the morung inside. Come come on.

[00:01:13]So Rachel, can you tell us a little bit more about this skull over here?

[00:01:17]>> Yeah, so this is the skull of a mithun.

[00:01:20]And as you can see, those are also there. Yep. There's so many actually.

[00:01:25]This is like very very old.

[00:01:28]And very real. So you can come here to this village and witness it for yourself.

[00:01:47]>> [music] >> We are now in the Garo morung. So this is like a traditional [music] dormitory or a community center for the youth.

[00:02:11]>> [music] >> So, this is called the Arju in our local dialect. We call it Arju. This is our traditional Morung. And over there we have the log drum. Uh-huh. So, why don't you tell us because as soon as we walked in here I was very, very interested about what this was and she was telling me. So, she can tell you guys what this actually does. Sure. So, this is a log drum [music] made out of a big tree trunk and we usually use this >> [music] >> Historically, we use this to use it as a sign of uh to warn when there is something going on with the village because it makes [music] a huge sound. I will show you how what kind of sound it makes.

[00:03:22]>> [music] [music] >> Mhm. We've just finished visiting all the 17 Morungs here in the Naga Heritage Village. So, [music] Do you want me to tell us about your experience? I think the experience has been immaculate [music] and I feel just culturally closer to Nagaland, you know, in general because we saw so many of them. We We saw skulls in some of them, spears in some of them. [laughter] So, I think, you [music] know, from scarlets to spheres we've seen it all and I feel like I know a lot more about the Naga >> closer to Nagaland as well.

[00:03:59]>> Exactly. [music] So I think this is a must visit for everybody that has come to Nagaland or is planning to come to Nagaland because this will give [music] you an insight to what ancient Nagaland once looked like.
