This visceral portrayal of mechanical failure serves as a sobering reality check for those who view global logistics as a mere abstract flow of data. It highlights the fragile, physical dependencies that high-level theoretical models often overlook.

Added:All right. Well, bad news.
Where are we even at? In the middle [ __ ] nowhere.
>> So, I noticed my uh temperatures have been going up. We're on 64.
Um coming up on Grayson.
Uh, Grayson, Kentucky. Notice our temperatures have been going up.
So, I've been running with the fan switch up and I noticed that the temperatures haven't been going down. So, I got out and I popped the hood and I noticed the fan's barely spinning.
So, I shut the truck off.
Fan clutch is gone.
So, What do I do now?
Um, I don't know what to do.
I don't even know how hard it is to replace that thing.
What does it even involve?
How much is a fan clutch?
>> I don't know.
>> Fan clutch X5 Cumins.
Holy smokes.
Oh, what do I do?
Is there any um any part stores along the way?
I bet it takes a special tool to replace, too.
>> I'm sure it does. I think we're going to have to go to a repair shop, dude.
We're 5 hours and 42 minutes from our drop.
See what our temperature is right now.
almost 225.
We need to let the broker or dispatcher know.
I'll let him know.
Well, I don't know. I guess um I guess we need to look for a shop >> there. Right here. These are all of them that we're kind of close to.
That's towing blueg grass diesel repair and Grayson.
All right. While we wait on that shop to call me back, I want to show you guys what this looks like.
What is this camera doing?
So, if I take my fan, there should be resistance when I try to hand spin this and it just it's even got a wobble to it, but it just spins freely.
Turn that key on. Don't start it. Just turn it on.
I would say she's toast.
Yep, she's done.
Let's Let's punch it in. All right.
Well, got a hold of a shot. It's going to be uh it's going to be $2,000.
Um they said they can go ahead and put somebody on it today, but they don't know if they'll finish it today. So, we've sat here for a little bit. The truck's cooled down a little bit.
Uh, I think we're about 20 miles.
>> Wonder if we should turn the heat on >> to help cool this thing off.
>> Yeah. Okay. Is that 16 minutes? Yeah, >> 16 minutes away. Uh, it's actually a shop in with a fleet price because I called a shop, tried to get a price on them, and I was like, you know what? Le end up calling another shop that said that they could do it, but we would have to provide the part. So, I called a fleet pride to see how much the part would be, and it ended up bringing into that office of that shop cuz she overheard me talking to the guy at the counter. So, I don't know how that works out, but I'm blasting the heat.
We'll see if we can make it there. We're going to uh Grayson, Kentucky. Uh the broker's calling on the next load to see what the broker wants to do on it.
Rucker said as long as we pick before 4:00, we're okay. Uh the big issue is is this will have us dropping like late Friday and uh Monday is a holiday.
Monday's Memorial Day. So, am I caught up on videos? I don't know. I've been busting my butt to work on them. Every time something always happens, though.
Anyways, let's get up here to uh Grayson. Temperatures dropped a lot since we turned the heat on.
We're down to 175 with the air blowing in and the heat running.
All right, cool. All right. Well, we'll see you there. Oh, they said we can leave the APU running, too, while they work on it.
All right, so we made it to a Blueg Grass Diesel in Grayson, Kentucky.
Uh we got up to the light before turning on this side road here.
And it went and the truck went and steam went everywhere. Pulled over in the middle of the road and I'm looking for the busted hose. I don't see anything. And I'm getting to look around and there's like green liquid dripping down.
So, not only did we mess up a fan clutch, I think we popped an AC line somehow.
So, I thought they were going to be able to jump on us starting today, but he just told me to back into this spot over here and uh disconnect till the morning.
So, they're probably not going to be able to get on us start tonight, babies, which is a bummer.
A real freaking bummer.
What can you do though?
Nothing I can do about it.
This is where we are.
This is the hand we're dealt.
So, I got to back into this spot over here, drop the trailer, and I guess they're going to come wake us up in the morning. I need to find out what time they start so like I don't get woken up to somebody beating on the door and I'm up and ready for them.
Sitting at about 180 right now with the heat going. So the dogs are freaking out cuz it's freaking hot in Kentucky. It says it's 97° out right now.
No, >> you had water. This is bad.
>> Ah, >> yeah. I forgot Monday's a holiday, man.
That really uh we're going to be kind of screwed for the weekend, you know.
Well, let me get this trailer dropped and pulled out from underneath.
>> All right. That was >> backed in. Got the trailer dropped.
APU's going for the doggies.
See if I can show you guys all this green mess.
I don't know what's going on with this camera, man. It is uh wibbling and wobbling.
Yeah. Look at all that uh look at all that green stuff there.
Everything's so freaking hot. I don't want to touch anything.
Oh, maybe uh there's that valve right there. I bet if it overpressurizes cuz I still had the back AC going.
I don't know. I don't know why it would have done that.
I don't know.
Well, I guess we uh wait till the morning.
I might have to turn that AP off.
No, I didn't expect it.
It's a mess.
I'm glad I didn't try to do it on the side of the road.
It's got a uh bolt that won't come out of this fan.
Bam.
All right. All right. Well, good morningish.
It's 12:30. I think they uh pulled me in here at about 8:15.
They um they just got the they just got the fan off. I guess there's a bolt that's like not wanting to come off, so they had to take the whole assembly off in one piece.
And then I got the broker blowing me up.
I don't know.
We might have to get these dogs out.
Huh?
>> I don't know how they're going to get out of here.
>> Why? To that man door over there, right?
>> Yeah, but like there's stuff all in the way.
>> Calm down, babies.
You calm down.
They haven't ate yet because we're kind of stuck.
>> We're in a shop with the doors closed.
I thought I'd be able to run my APU the whole time.
I mean, it feels good out here. We could roll these windows down.
Maybe not so much. Maybe like that.
Yeah, the broker's freaking out because it was supposed to be dropped this morning.
Nothing I can do about it, though, man.
I don't know.
All right, it is now 4:30.
He's got the new uh fan clutch on. See how it won't spin now?
Um, he broke a couple clamps. They can't seem to source this clamp.
Told him it should just be a three or 4 in Vband. I've got a ton of them at home.
Um, yeah, it's uh 4:30 at night now.
We've we've been here for over 24 hours now.
We've got a uh we've got an oil leak on the front of this. I planned on taking this thing and having my uh overhead done before we go on the cruise and having them fix this oil leak. I can't I cleaned all of this up when we were home. I took this um crankase filter off, cleaned it up. I don't know where it's coming from.
I mean, it doesn't drip on the ground.
That's the thing. Like, when we stop for the night, it's like not dripping on the ground. It's just I don't know. I don't know what it is, but it is um it's 4:30 now. I've had the broker, the dispatcher, the guy we were taking this to blowing me up all day long. I'm like, I will let you know when we are loaded. And they'll call an hour later. Are you loaded yet? Or are you are you fixed yet? No, I'm not fixed. An hour later. Is it fixed yet?
No, it is not fixed yet. Stop harassing me. There's nothing I can do to make this go any faster. But you calling me every hour while I'm broke down is pissing me off.
There's nothing I can do. There's nothing I can do.
So, they got to source that clamp and then we should be good.
I don't know. And it's storming. We just got a uh warning on our phone that there's severe storms.
Public service uh NWS service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning. Grayson Lake Park, Webville, Denton, Willard, and Hitchens. Severe thunderstorm was located over Sandy Hook and moving this way. 60 mph wind gusts.
I'm to the point of just duct taping that pipe on there and getting out of here.
All right.
So, they found they found a clamp they're hoping works. Hopefully, this AC works. Ooh, the AC's working, dude.
>> So, we didn't lose that much. So, I did Huh?
>> How?
>> I mean, how we didn't lose all of our freon?
>> No, I think it just blew off enough to release pressure. I mean, we might have lost some.
to see if I can remember how to drive.
I've been here for freaking ever and it's pouring rain.
>> Yo.
>> Yo.
>> What up?
>> What are you doing?
>> Uh, I'm about to take my truck on a test drive. Let me call you back. Or is it important?
>> Oh, back.
kind of sucks that this uh terrible place for >> what >> I said a terrible place for >> for this truck say I Now I got in here.
>> Make sure my EOD is connected.
>> Calm down, Cassie.
>> Calm down.
>> It's not connected. Cassie, calm down.
>> Connected.
>> Calm down, babies. We're going to take the truck for a test drive.
Holy [ __ ] Please answer this. [music] This is what I'm talking about. I've sat around for 24 hours.
>> Hello.
>> Left on Kentucky.
>> All right. Everything checked out or it seems to have. Took it on a test drive, came back. Now we're hooked up to the trailer. Was uh $2,550.
Uh we were worried that they were going to try to charge us more since it took more than 4 hours, but they um they only charged us what they quoted us. So, props to them.
I hate a hard time, man. He couldn't get a bolt that disconnects the fan from the fan clutch.
Um, I don't know if it's a bolt that runs into a nut, but I don't think he could get a wrench back on the back side of one. He ended up having to take the whole assembly out in one piece, which didn't look like fun.
So, if everything went perfect from here until there, we will uh get there at 11:00 tonight.
But I think we have a fuel stop planned when we get into Virginia.
Um, so we'll see.
Uh, did you text Kane?
I was going to text him when we knew he was actually talking. We text him now. I got it.
All right. Well, >> we'll see you later.
All right, good morning.
We uh made it about 30 minutes away.
30 minutes. Yeah, about 30 minutes away from our drop.
Um it took a lot longer than 6 hours. So, we went through some uh pretty bad storms again and then the mountains slowed us down a lot.
So, I think we stopped at like 12:00 last night. I'm doing a 82 split right now. So, I don't know. I I'll have to see how that works. I know I've talked about trying to figure out this sleeper birth split thing. So, I think because I was at sleeper birth for 8 hours.
Did you see that giant turkey? I think it was a turkey.
Um, after we drop, I have to I have to at least stop for another two hours >> and then I get all my time back.
>> I have no idea.
I mean, even the G the Elog tried to explain it to me.
>> I'll be honest with you, I I'm kind of [ __ ] Of >> course, I was half asleep. It's like, okay, whatever. cuz this is going to put us there at like um 8:30 9:00 and if I would have actually did my 10, I don't think they would have been happy getting this that late.
So anyways, the truck's doing great.
We can hear the fan working.
>> Yeah, everything's fine. We end up sleeping on a ramp. We tried to stop by three or four places because it was so late last night. There was no parking anywhere.
For the idiots that are always like, "Trip plan, trip plan. How do you trip plan for a breakdown or stop at somebody at night?" I hate people that are so ignorant to how this whole thing works now. I used to do it back in 1973.
We used to have to use maps and call on payoneses and we would trick plan. Yeah.
You didn't have a a quarter of a billion illegal aliens driving trucks, taking up truck.
>> Oh, and I recently released a video of uh finding out about Cassy's hip dysplasia, and there's a couple of idiots in the comments that are just like, "Just put her down. Just put her down. You might as well unsubscribe from my channel because you're a [ __ ] [ __ ] and I probably blocked you already.
Ever tell me to put one of my dogs down.
That's what's wrong with you people, man. [ __ ] hate people like you. Just put your dog down. Yeah. Perfectly healthy 5-year-old.
Just put the dog down. Which, by the way, Mackey's been doing absolutely fantastic.
Right.
>> Yeah. Just put Just put her down.
Just put her down. That's cruel. You're an idiot. Somebody should put you down, man. Nothing infuriates me more than idiots coming in the comment section.
Absolute morons.
Absolute morons.
All right, for all the other people wishing her uh happy recoveries and stuff, thank you.
But there's a bunch of idiots in the comments. Absolute morons. Makes me not even want to open up the comment section.
All right, so we're just pulled over off to the side. This is actually a uh I think it's an Amazon uh data center in uh what's this place called? Luillaa.
>> Louisa or something?
>> Luis. Louisa. Is this my guy?
No.
Um, we're just pulled over off the side waiting for them to uh drive us in. So, I have no idea where to go. We may have gone into the wrong gate. He couldn't remember what gate we were supposed to go into.
So, we may have we may have gone into the wrong gate, but I pulled over waiting to see if we are. Um, looks like we've got a load of hay that picks up in Blackstone, Virginia, and goes to Youngstown, Ohio.
>> Yeah.
>> So, I was hoping that would get us closer to Grandma's. Monday is a holiday, so today is Thursday. So maybe we can do this hay load and then have time to pick something up for Friday that'll run us through >> Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
I don't know though.
Maybe.
I guess there's probably some people that'll work one day.
Man, I hope I'm at the right place. Man, we've been sitting here for about 30 minutes, so we might be at the wrong gate, which would be unfortunate.
Are you my Are you my guy?
>> Yeah. Okay.
>> Water?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Let me turn around.
>> Okay.
God dang Mac.
Man, I really hate to see these data centers go up.
I think they're trying to build one in Georgia where we live.
Yeah, bro. Someone trying to shoot around me.
Look at that.
It's probably going to be so freaking big.
Lots of jobs to build it. I don't know what the jobs will be like after it's built. Looks like we're going to need our vests and our hard hats.
Heat. Heat.
I think we put pants on, huh?
Heat.
Heat.
This is why we're busy.
This is data centers.
>> I mean, this is the first data center we've delivered to.
>> How you figure?
>> What about those those CAT engines?
Those were for a data center.
>> Oh, okay. That's one other load, but it was a That wasn't to a data center.
>> Man, this place is huge.
Heat.
Heat.
Yeah, man. I have never found this back in here. I'm glad you came and got us.
Heat. Heat.
Bro, where did they get all of this money?
>> From the government.
>> Oh, yeah.
Government just gave these companies money to start data centers.
>> Yeah.
>> That's crazy.
>> For security.
>> Security, huh? Is that what we're calling it?
>> Yep.
This says 53 moving deck trailer.
>> All right. Going between these guys, I guess.
Heat up here.
And I don't think we can have hay bales hanging off of us.
>> Yeah, it'll be fine.
just >> I'm sure Kate let him know we were at 50.
>> Yeah, you would think.
Can't keep a clean truck on jobs like this, man.
I need a water truck out here. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh.
good.
Heat. Heat.
What's the name of this town?
Blackstone.
Leftway.
Yeah.
I wonder where they want us at.
All right. So, anyways, we got unloaded in uh wherever we were this morning.
Now, uh we're in Blackstone getting ready to get a load of hay going to uh Vana, Ohio.
>> Yeah. Uh, it's weird because this place is off the 40 in uh, Blackstone and I guess they got a bunch of roads closed so they had to give us like crazy directions to get back in here. But it's pretty much all military land back in here. So, it's weird that there's like a hay place here. And it doesn't even look like they cut the hay here. They just store the hay here.
So, anyways, we'll have to uh stop and get some fuel after here. And then we're going to have to stop for two hours to get my time back. Man, I'm I don't know.
I I'm [ __ ] guys. I I still just don't understand the the split sleeper.
Oh, they're going to stack them up and down like that on us.
That can't be right.
[music] I'm a problem.
Problem. [music] You only call when your world fall down.
You only text when nobody's around. You only love when [music] you need my name.
You only show when you need me to blame.
I used to pick up [music] fast. I used to drive all night. I used to lose my peace just to make yours [music] right.
But I got real life. I got real stress.
I got my own weight sitting on [music] my chest. I ain't your backup.
I ain't your eyes. [music] I ain't your preacher.
Preacher. I ain't lie.
[music] Not my problem. Not my problem.
You made that bed now sleeping it. Not my [music] problem. Not my problem. You broke that bridge. Don't reach for it.
You had my number.
You had [music] your shot. Now it ain't my problem.
What you got?
You wasn't there [music] when my tank got low. You wasn't there when my head got cold. You wasn't there when the rent came through. You [music] wasn't there when I needed true. Now you need favor.
Now you need grace. [music] Now you need me to clean your plate. I ain't mad. I just moved [music] on. You can't come back to a seat that's gone. I got [music] one life. I got one name. I got no time for the same old game. [music] If it sounds cold, then call it that.
But I ain't carrying what you drag back.
Not my [music] problem. Not my problem.
You made that bed, not sleeping.
Not my problem. Not my [music] problem.
You broke that bridge. Don't reach for it. You had my number.
You had your shot. [music] Now it ain't my problem.
What you got?
Don't Don't come crying when it falls apart. Don't act broken when you broke my heart. Don't ask why I'm not involved. You made that mess. Not my problem. Not my problem. Not my problem.
You made that bed. I sleep in sleeping.
Not my [music] problem. Not my problem.
You broke that bridge. Don't reach for.
You had [music] my number.
You had your shot. Now it ain't my [music] problem.
What you got >> now? It ain't my problem.
What you got? [music] All right, finally loaded up. Have you ever seen hay stacked on its end like this? I don't like it because it squishes the sides out. If it was stacked like we normally do, it's always flat on this side.
I said this is how they stack them. No, man. It's not actually hay. It's like they're feeding stuff into a big grinder over there or it's already ground and then it just wraps some up with plastic.
Uh this is going to take us up through uh up through Washington and then uh over through well we go through Richmond, Washington and then we got Pittsburgh we got to drive through.
Oh, it wasn't fun. That plastic makes the strap slip down when you throw it over.
I don't know. I'm not a I'm not a fan of that right there.
Oh, show.
I need a Gatorade, baby. I am dying.
While we're waiting on our paperwork and then uh we're going to run down to a TA. Let me see how far how long we got to sit for.
Oh, [snorts] it's so hot out.
45 minutes.
Oh, let's get this air going for real, Cassie.
Yeah.
All right. See you in a bit.
I wonder where 5 hours will put us.
>> I mean, if we can make it there in 7 hours, 7 and 1/2 hours, we should be east of Pittsburgh.
That kind of depends on Washington.
