Finding Prehistoric Artifacts In The Desert - Chert Point (Possible Humboldt)

[00:00:00]Having a walk in the high desert.

[00:00:05]Looking for surface artifacts.

[00:00:08]And I'm in an area where the primary material is obsidian. However, I do find chert debitage.

[00:00:16]But not so often. It's mainly obsidian.

[00:00:18]Obviously, if you can see by the ground, the ground's real gravelly. This is called lapilli.

[00:00:23]And it's just basically this is a volcanic area. Which makes what I just came across, which is lying right on the ground here, all the more fantastic. So, this is Looks like I got a almost possibly intact white chert projectile point.

[00:00:51]And that might be a Humboldt style.

[00:00:57]Look at the base. This is incredible.

[00:01:03]Wow. Yeah, that might be a Humboldt point there.

[00:01:08]It's maybe inch and a quarter, inch and a half.

[00:01:14]Wow, it is pretty rare to find an intact chert, white chert projectile point out here.

[00:01:30]That is impressive.

[00:01:35]So, that's just fantastic.
