Five American Cruise Passengers Arrested in Nassau! Cruise Vacation Turns Into Jail Time

[00:00:27]The old school wheel is back at it again and today we're talking about a cruise vacation that allegedly went completely off the rails. What started as a port visit in Nasau, Bahamas, reportedly ended with five American cruise passengers been arrested. Go figure. Multiple police officers were injured, property damage, and a lot of unanswered questions that Old School's about to answer for you.

[00:00:58]Now, before we get started, remember that these are allegations reported by authorities, and everyone involved is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. But if these reports are accurate, this is exactly the type of behavior that gives cruise passengers a real bad reputation around the world.

[00:01:21]Let's talk about this. Now, according to reports from Bohemian authorities, police officers were called to the NASA cruise port.

[00:01:32]>> Today is Tuesday, June 9th, 2026. And in crime news, Sideness is reporting that on Monday, June 8, 2026, Turism police officers, arrested five US nationals, including three females and two males for several offenses following an incident at the Nassau Cruport.

[00:01:53]According to preliminary reports, shortly after 4:45 p.m., [music] police officers were alerted to a physical altercation involving several cruise ship passengers within the Nassau cruiseport area. Officers responded and with the assistance of additional personnel, intervened [music] and took three females and two males into custody. The complainant was subsequently invited to the police station to provide an official statement. The report goes on to say, [music] "Upon arrival at the station, officers prepared to search the arrested individuals. During the process, a violent struggle reportedly ensued between officers and the five suspects.

[00:02:36]One female suspect allegedly threw a chair through a sen glass door, causing it to shatter. A male suspect then allegedly kicked out the remaining glass and attempted to escape, but was immediately subdued by officers. [music] Additional police units were requested to assist in restoring order.

[00:02:59]The report goes on to say the five suspects sustained minor injuries during the initial altercation at [music] the cruiseport and were examined and treated by emergency medical services personnel.

[00:03:11]As a result of the confrontation at the police station, several officers's uniforms were damaged and four officers sustained various [music] injuries. Two officers were reportedly struck about the body while another suffered a laceration to the mouth. Ford officer sustained a serious injury to his left shoulder and was transported to the hospital by ambulance for medical treatment. His condition is currently unknown. The report goes on to say that due to time constraints related to their cruise ship's scheduled departure, the complainants were unable to provide official statements. Nevertheless, the five suspects remain in police custody and are being investigated in connection with the following offenses. [music] Assaulting a police officer, fighting in a public's place, resisting arrest, malicious damage, [music] disorderly behavior in a police station. Finally, the report says that investigations into this matter continues.

This glass door here at the tourism police station was left shattered following a brawl involving five American tourists who created chaos here yesterday. Police say one of the female suspects allegedly threw a chair through that door and a male suspect then kicked out the remaining glass and attempted to escape, but he was immediately subdued. And so now five American suspects are now in police custody and potentially facing a litany of charges after they were initially apprehended in connection with a physical altercation at the cruiseport just across from this police station.

[00:05:13]Now, when those officers arrived, they reportedly found a situation serious enough to take five individual wolves into custody.

[00:05:24]Those individuals included three females and two males who were identified as United States citizens. Now, most people would assume that once someone is arrested and transported to a police station, the situation is over. No, don't work that way, folks. According to authorities, things allegedly became even worse after the suspects arrived at the police station.

[00:06:07]Of course, people say that during the booking and search process, another confrontation occurred. Now, this is inside the police station, the popo station, folks.

[00:06:21]Oh Lord, people just cease to amaze me.

[00:06:27]Usually alcohol or drugs are involved in on situations like this. But anyhow, authorities alleged that one female suspect threw a chair through a glass door. Now, this is inside the police station. [laughter] That would have made my vacation, folks, if I could have been there to see this.

[00:06:51][laughter] Please further allege that one male suspect kicked out the remaining glass.

[00:06:58]Well, you might as well do it the right way. just kick it all out. And they attempted to escape inside the police station.

[00:07:07]H you can tell old school's having a having a blast with this one. Think about that for a moment. You're already under arrest. You're already facing possible charges and then you allegedly decide to damage government property and resist officers.

[00:07:25]Oh, well, you're already arrested, so you might as well make it even worse by having more uh charges filed against you.

[00:07:34]If the [snorts] H I'm trying, folks. Lord knows I'm trying. If the [clears throat] if these allegations are true, that is not going to help your situation. Not one bit. [laughter] Police also reported that four officers Oh, I'm not laughing at this part. That four officers suffered injuries during the confrontation.

[00:08:00]One officer reportedly received injuries to the body. Another officer reportedly suffered injuries during the struggle.

[00:08:08]How well I know that a third officer sustained a laceration to the mouth and one officer reportedly suffered a serious shoulder injur injury that required transportation to a hospital.

[00:08:25]Folks, this is no longer just a simple fight. When law enforcement officers start getting an injured, prosecutors tend to take these cases very serious.

[00:08:36][clears throat] unless you live in the US. Now, let's talk about something many cruisers fail to understand.

[00:08:45]When you step off a cruise ship in a foreign country, you are no longer operating solely under US laws.

[00:08:53]You are subject to the laws of the country you are visiting.

[00:08:58]That means if you're in NASA, you're subject to Bohemian law. If you're in Kamel, you're subject to Mexican law. If you are in Jamaica, you're subject to Jamaican law. A lot of people seem to forget that.

[00:09:18]That's why when you're on that's why when you're in different countries, you you had better be on your best behavior.

[00:09:25]And wow. You can't travel internationally and assume you're going to be treated exactly the same as you might be back home.

[00:14:41]Every country has its own criminal statutes and every country has its own penalties. Now, another interesting part of this story is that authorities reported the complainants were unable to provide formal statements because of the cruise ship scheduled departure. Now, that's another problem.

[00:15:03]In other words, the cruise ship wasn't going to wait. [music] Thank you.

[00:15:58]That's another lesson for cruisers. Now you have a choice. Is it more important to get back on that cruise ship or to file those charges in the country of origin, at least where you are? Cruise ships operate on schedules. If you're sitting in a jail cell, when that ship is preparing to leave, chances are the ship is leaving with IG, folks. Cruise lines are not going to delay parture because passengers [clears throat] got arrested. That's on you. Imagine that phone call. Your vacation is over. Your luggage may still be on the ship.

[00:16:38]Your family may be on the ship. And now you're trying to figure out how you're getting home from another country.

[00:16:48]That's a very expensive mistake. And let's be honest, stories like this seem to be happening more often. We hear about fights on board. We hear about fights at ports. We hear about chairhog disputes. We hear about alcohol fuel incidents.

[00:17:07]And we hear about passengers acting completely out of control. And many longtime cruisers are asking the same question.

[00:17:18]What happened to cruise culture?

[00:17:21]Cruising used to be viewed as a relaxing vacation. Now, it seems like every week there's another headline involving contact sports. No, I'm just kidding.

[00:17:32]Somebody fighting, getting arrested, or causing chaos.

[00:17:37]Huh? Now, I want to be fair here. Also, the overwhelming majority of cruise passengers are respectful.

[00:17:46]Most people board a ship to have fun, enjoy their vacation, and create memories with families and friends.

[00:17:54]But unfortunately, it only takes a handful of ghetto, ratchet behavior.

[00:18:00]Uh, [clears throat] I shouldn't have thrown that. Well, I'm I'm correct for throwing that in. Of individuals behaving badly to create negative headlines that affect everybody. And that's exactly why stories like this get so much attention, because people are tired of seeing this type of ratchet, ghetto type behavior.

[00:18:21]The charges reportedly been investigated, including assaulting a police officer, go figure, fighting in a public place, resisting arrest, and malicious damage. These are serious allegations. And don't forget, you're in a foreign country. This these are their charges, not the United States charges. Stop.

[00:18:48]>> WE'RE ON A CRUISE. YOU CANNOT GET ARRESTED. YOU'RE GOING TO BE IN THE BAHAMAS. STOP. [screaming] >> STOP.

[00:19:01]YOU'RE GOING TO BE IN JAIL. I KNOW WHAT >> FOR WHAT?

[00:19:05]>> They're going TO ARREST YOU FOR THAT.

[00:19:06]>> Another officer arrives on scene and [music] speaks to a witness.

[00:19:10]>> They came and they grabbed my wife's family.

[00:19:13]They came in. We got some beer and they were okay. They were okay talking. And then he's like, "I'm from Peru. I want to fight." And he said that he will fight York first. And then I said, "No, you cannot fight fight." So he went to the bathroom and on the way back he just went to the kitchen and he grabbed him like this and he's like, "I want to fight."

[00:19:34]>> And then we just said, "Stop." And then she came in. I called police.

[00:19:40]>> Did you see him grab him? Oh, >> I didn't see both of them. I mean, he saw it and he he was in the kitchen. He just came here because he just kind of No, I was so he came >> he came like this. He was >> and he grabbed I want to fight.

[00:19:58]>> The altercation was caught on video.

[00:20:06]tick and the guy like went like this and said like he like wipes his hand away and so it set him off but please I'm asking of you. My kids are home with my parents and I'm on a cruise just please just let us walk out and that's it.

[00:20:22]>> Huh?

[00:20:23]>> That's up to him.

[00:20:24]>> And the attitude he's been given so far.

[00:20:27]>> If you act like I'm here, here's the problem.

[00:20:34]>> We did our pup and it's just like the guy set him off and it say I'm babe. Okay. I'M TALKING TO HIM. STOP.

[00:20:43]>> His attitude is going to indicate a continuation of >> I know. No, we're leaving. We're going back to the cruise. We're fine. You guys leave here. Go back. If I get called on here, >> that's fine.

[00:20:58][laughter] >> And depending on the evidence and how the case proceeds, these individuals could potentially face significant legal consequences.

[00:21:07]Not to say being arrested and watching your cruise ship. Well, you want to be watching a cruise ship sail away because you're going to be in a a sale somewhere in that country. Now, we continue monitoring this story as more information becomes available, but let this serve as a reminder. When you're on vacation, act like you're on vacation.

[00:21:42]Nine times out of 10, what old school is about to say is a cause of you getting your rear end arrested in a foreign country.

[00:21:50]Monitor your alcohol intake.

[00:21:54]I know you got that you got that uh that uh package, that drink package, and you want to try to keep up with those 30 drinks per day.

[00:22:05]30 drinks or whatever count you got may wind up costing you folks. be careful of how much alcohol you're consuming in a different foreign country off of that cruise ship.

[00:22:19]Now, remember that actions have those consequences, especially when you're visiting that other country. One bad decision can turn a dream vacation into a legal nightmare.
