>> I love you.
>> Hello. Welcome to day f day five of summer. How are you, Tiffany? It's been so long since I last saw you. How have you been? Are you doing well? I hope so, Diva. You look amazing. It is, I think, about 10:00 a.m. The sleep schedule is reset. I woke up at 4:00 a.m. I finished reading this book as I told you in the last vlog. And now you're like, Jaline, what's going to happen? What are we going to do? Let me tell you. Don't worry, mama. We are going to read this Scary Movie Night. This comes out, I think, on the 14th of July. The publisher sent me this copy. I'm really excited to read this. I hope I like it.
Look how pretty that is. Ooh, the first line of the book kind of got me. The first line is, "A person moves in the shadows beyond my bedroom door."
Okay, spooky home invasion, perhaps.
Also, I just realized I have not been telling you the synopsises of the books I've been reading. Oops. From what I understand, it's about a girl who has like a birthday party and the the theme is like scary movies and so everybody comes dressed as like their favorite horror icon and then I think it turns into like a massacre or like a blood bath or something. I'm thinking about and like maybe this is crazy. Hear me out though. I'm thinking I might go outside. I was already at the cafe earlier this morning. I think I might go outside and just sit at like a bench, bring maybe some snacks with me, like some fruit and read while having lunch.
Either way, that's what I'm thinking about doing. I kind of feel like I don't know, being outside, feeling the wind in my dresses. I feel like having the wind blow through my three strands of hair. I think that's what we're going to do. I don't really have any other plans for the day other than that. I think also tonight I'm going to make another dinner snack plate cuz I didn't have one yesterday. I was literally like delir. I was so tired obviously. Let's go read and have a little snack. I'll bring you with me. Of of course. Of course I'll bring you with me. Okay, cool. I'll see you soon. Bye. See you.
>> I love you.
Hey, I should have brought my microphone, but I didn't. But when I got out here, the place was swarming with children. There were so many kids. Like, I think it was like the daycare. After I came back from the cafe, I went to my apartment and maybe like 45 minutes later, I came back down and the place was swarming with kids. So, I had to sit and like these tables were taken by the kids. So, I had to sit on a bench like a peasant the moment the kids left.
I claimed this spot. It's mine. Yeah.
Thank god I had headphones with me because there was a lot of screaming.
It's a lot of screaming. A lot of kids.
Also, at one point, one of them like came up to me. I was sitting on the bench eating my fruit, reading headphones, you know, blasting music. One of them came up, looked at me, and I was like, "Hello." And she ran away. Yeah, it's gorgeous outside, and I'm really enjoying this. Hopefully, you can actually hear what I'm saying, and it's not too like windy, gusty. Anyway, I'm going to go back to reading. Also, so far, I really like this. The main character is an iconic relatable queen.
And I kind of already think maybe this is crazy. I kind of think it's going to be her ex-boyfriend as like who's like going to be the killer or and this is crazy. It could be her grandma or it's the gardener's son. Listen, I'm like I'm 30 pages in. But that those are my ideas. That's who I'm suspicious of.
Okay.
Hi, it's Wednesday and it's day 6. Some news. Yesterday I fell asleep at 400 p.m. I was so tired. I was reading Scary Movie Night. I'm about 110 pages in, I think. Once again, I was like, "Let me just shut my eyes. Let me just close my eyes." Also, cuz I was in bed.
Dangerous. Not good. I was in bed. I shut my eyes. Next thing I know, it's 8:00 p.m. So then I was awake from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. And then I went back to bed and I woke up again at 2:30 cuz my cats woke me up. And then I probably went to bed after that at like 3:00. And then I woke up again at 7:30 and I've been awake ever since. Anyway, and it is now 9:48 and I'm going to leave right here quick.
I think I'm going to go to a cafe. I looked up like cafes close to me.
There's one that's like almost 2 kmish away. So, I think I'm going to walk there, see what's going on. I've never been there before and like get some coffee and read. The walk should take me maybe like 30 minutes or so. So, I'm excited for that to get the exercise in.
I'm going to get some exercise, girl. As for Scary Movie Night, I really, really like it so far. I'm like, who is killing these people? I have my suspicions, but I'm still like unsure. I'm still unsure as to like who who it could possibly be.
Obviously, I kind of feel like maybe it's Ava. Maybe it's the grandma. The grandma could be like literally murking everybody there. That could be a possibility. Tiff, the 80-year-old grandma. She could be doing it. Yeah. So far, I really like it. I like the main character. It's a very heterosexual book, which is a little bit disappointing for me cuz I'm just like not used to like the heterosexuals in my books. I'm just like not used to it, honestly. Okay, so listen. the mo the moment the book started and the moment we were introduced to Marlo, I was shipping Marlo with the main character.
Marlo is like one of her good friends and I was like, Marlo and this girly like they have so much chemistry and I was kind of like oh my god it's kind of lesbian. It's kind of lesbianic. I think it's probably going to get sappic. It didn't. Marlo has a boyfriend and Marlo also is like divorced. I think all of these women are super straight. So that's like the only downside for me for the book. It's a little bit weird. I'm not used to it if I'm being honest with you. Maybe this is how straight people feel when they see queer representation.
They're like, "Wait, I don't know if I like this." I also have a doctor's appointment at 1:30. And I honestly I'm like, can I could I potentially go to the cafe, read, come back to the apartment, and then go to the doctor's appointment, or should I stay at the cafe and just go from just go to the doctor's appointment from the cafe?
We'll see. I guess depends on how long I want to stay there. Also depends on the seating. I don't want to sit in a cafe if the seating is not comfortable. If you have some like hard ass ugly uncomfortable seats, I don't want to sit there. I hope they have good seats. I want like a soft cushiony chair, bro. I want my ass to feel like it's sitting on a pillow. Anyway, okay, I'm going to go.
I was so good talking to you. Let's Let's do this again. Bye. Bye. It's 6:49 p.m. I got home 2 hours ago or so. I spent a good like 2 hours at the cafe that I went to. First time ever going to that cafe and even though it's inside of a church, which like, okay, it was really, really nice. I had a sandwich, dude. The way that sandwich rocked my world. The way that sandwich changed so much about me, about my perspective on sandwiches. This is the thing, Tiffany.
It was $14. It was a $14 sandwich, which is bonkers. That's insane. But it was so good that by the end of it, I was like, I think it was kind of worth it. The bread was like inhouse made fkaca. I don't think I've ever had fkaca before.
And it broke it rocked my world. It was so so good. I spent like a good like 2 hours, I want to say, there. I at first I honestly kind of got lost. I had to ask somebody for like directions. I had walked too far. I missed it by by like a long shot. So I had to like turn around and walk back. I got pretty far into Scary Movie Night. I think I'm like 50 pages, 40 pages away from the end. Hi.
He doesn't like it when I try to kiss him. Brother. Brother. My brother in Christ. This [ __ ] is so dramatic.
There's so much drama.
Drama. It's crazy. It's It's honestly one of those books where it's like, "Oh my god, everybody loves each other.
We're such good friends." Spoiler alert, they're not good friends. They're not good friends. Everybody has a secret.
Everybody's got secrets. Okay, that's the thing. Somebody like dies. Excuse me, sir. Do you mind? Can you just like leave me alone, please?
Look at this man. Look at this man. He's also sitting on the cord. He wants me to pet him so badly. The moment I start filming anything, he's like, "But what if you just paid attention to me instead? What if I was the center of your world?" Somebody like dies. It's kind of like, "Oh my god, who did this?
It has to be somebody who was like at the party who was here." And I kind of had like my suspicion. Listen, listen.
I'm pretty bad at these kinds of things.
I never knew who it is. It's always a person that you medium suspect. And it was the person that I medium suspected.
Bug, can you chill?
You guys missed it. We kissed. It was so cute. Besides that drama, I was expecting it to be like a slasher situation. Like, oh no, there's a there's a murderer among us and they're picking everybody off. No, that's not that's not what's happening. It's honestly more like a murder mystery, like a thriller less than it is like a horror. So, if you're into that, check it out cuz I honestly really really like it. I'm really into it. I would say it's like a 4.5, maybe like a four or something like that so far. I'm excited to finish it. I don't think I'm going to finish it tonight because if I'm being honest with you, Tiffany, I'm exhausted.
I'm so freaking tired. I was at the doctor's office for about 2 hours. It wasn't even that exhausting of a visit of like a doctor's visit. I just I had an appointment with a PCN nurse. Never heard of that before, but apparently it's like a nurse that's like I don't know. Either way, like we took my blood pressure, which is normal. Thank God, bro. If I had one more thing to worry about on top of the diabetes, I'd be very upset. But thankfully, my my blood sugar is like classic, which is like absolutely normal. Thank the Lord. And then we took my weight and my height.
Also, what's devastating to me, Tiffany, let me tell you about this. Actually, I thought forever, for my entire life, I've been walking around, okay, being like, "Listen, [ __ ] I'm 510, 5'11.
I've been telling people that my entire goddamn life just to find out at the doctor's office that I'm 5 [ __ ] 9."
Like it's just like it's so crazy cuz I I've never seen myself as a petite girl, but apparently I am. I would have thought. Would have known. But I'm just a petite woman, Tiffany. And I didn't know since finding out that I'm actually 5'9 and not 510.
Devastating. Absolutely devastating. I don't know if it's just that like I didn't know that I was 59 my whole my whole life or if it's like a thing like I shrunk. Either way, I don't like it.
Either way, I'm not into that. We basically just talked about the diabetes and like what my current diet looks like, my like level of activity/ exercise. She's there to sort of help me on on the journey of like, you know, figuring [ __ ] out. What's really a bummer though, and I don't want to be too serious, but let me just be a little bit serious. What's a bummer is that like this is like a lifelong thing. This is like how I have to live my life for the rest of for the rest of my life. And that's really not fun. I really wish I had been diagnosed when I was like 50.
Do you know what I mean? Cuz like at that point it's like okay life is basically almost over kind of like I have like a 10 20 30 year 30 if I'm lucky years left. You know I can just like you know it's not that bad but like as like as like a you know a young woman to be like hey this is something that's going to like change like everything fundamentally about who you are.
So, good luck. But there are like a lot of resources for uh people with diabetes in Canada. Like I'm going to eventually talk to a dietitian. I'm going to see like a behavioral therapist. Is that what they're called? I have another doctor's appointment next week where I'm going to see my doctor doctor. They're going to see what my fasting glucose is.
It went down from the last time. So, that's good. So, I'm hoping it'll go down again. I'm trying to be a good girl. Tip. I'm trying to be a good girl.
Trying to eat my vegetables and my fruits and get enough fiber cuz apparently that's like a huge thing.
Like a lot of people apparently aren't eating enough fiber and it's giving people cancer in their butts or maybe just their bowels. I don't know. Is your bowel your butt? Anyway, I don't think I'm going to finish the book today cuz I'm tired. I'm exhausted. I honestly could probably just go to bed right now.
It's only It's only like 7:00 p.m. I'm going to try to stay awake, but I think I'm probably also going to edit day three and four. I also got a refill for my anti-depressants. I ran out for a few days because I forgot to ask my doctor last time. That was another reason why I had to stay even longer than I wanted to was cuz I needed to get my refill for my Zoloft. The little Zozos. Anybody call them that? They should. They should call them Zozos. That's such a cute little name for it. Anyway, I'm just like rambling at this point. Either way, scary movie night. very fun, not very scary, definitely full of drama, definitely full of like suspense. I'm gonna go. Thank you so much for coming to my TED talk. It's been so good seeing you. I will see you tomorrow for the last day. I honestly hope and I know I'm I'm talking your I'm talking your ear off. I'm hoping I can finish Scary Movie Night and then also read one other book tomorrow.
Here's hoping. Pray for me. Okay. Love you. Bye.
Heat.
Hey. Hey. Hey.
I'm Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Hi. It's the last day of Summerween.
Woo! Woo! It is Thursday. It's currently, I think, like 10:30 in the morning. I've been awake since 3:30, so that's been really fun. Just kidding.
It's a [ __ ] nightmare. I wanted to go back to bed, but I wasn't tired. I'm hoping hoping I can just like catch like a second wind. Do you know what I mean?
cuz I know that eventually today I probably will feel tired and I'm hoping I can I can fight my way through it. So the plan right now as of now is for me to read and finish Scary Movie Night.
That's the plan. And then I think also either start another book or start and finish another book. I don't know how likely that is though. Div.A. Div.A. I don't know if it's doable. Okay. But we're going to try. So that's a thing.
Also, I'm also thinking about making like tofu meatballs cuz as much as I love my little dinner plates, absolutely obsessed with them. Kind of feel like making something. So, I'm thinking about making tofu meatballs. Serving it with like some veg, some satsiki, and some rice mixed with quinoa, you know, for the extra fiber and protein. Babe, I also need coffee. I ran out of coffee this morning, so I need to buy some more of that. But also, I was thinking about f I was thinking about salad rolls. I was thinking about salad rolls and so I texted my Oh, hi money. Hi. And so I texted my friend and I was like, "Girly girl." F. And she was like, "Yes." But she has to wait for the cleaners to finish at her house. She's that kind of girly. She's She's [ __ ] fancy. She's got cleaners. I think I'm going to get salad rolls and I think she's probably going to get f. But I'm really craving salad rolls. Specifically the peanut sauce. Oh my god, dude. I think I could honestly eat like 16 gallons of peanut sauce. Oh my god. He's so cute. I'm really excited. I'll bring you along with me. I'm also hoping that maybe this friend will like drive me to to like a grocery store. I'm like, it's perfect cuz like I don't drive. She does. We're going to get f. We're going to be out and about anyway. Might as well stop at a grocery store. For lunch, we're going to have salad rolls. For dinner, we're going to have tofu balls with satsiki and quinoa rice and vegetables. Cool. I will update you when I get more into scary movie night. It's been so good seeing you. Also, it's very like rainy outside, so if like the lighting is weird, that's why. It's cuz it's kind of like cloudy. Anyway, okay. Love you.
Bye. Thanks. Bye.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Hey, heat. Hey, heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Hey, heat. Hey, heat. Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Hey.
Hello. Good evening. It is I think midnight or something like that. The readathon is over and I have things to say, things to tell you. Things have happened. I finished reading Scary Movie Night and this was so good. A lot better honestly than I was kind of expecting it to be. I really, really liked it. It was like so much drama. There was so much going on at every single scene. Everyone is a complete mess of a person. I liked the mystery. I liked this like, "Oh my god, who who's killing my friends?"
Also, what secrets do I have? Ooh, I really liked that. And like I said earlier, definitely not a horror novel.
Even though it says scary movie night, it's not scary. This is a thriller. This is a murder mystery. Go into it with that expectation. But this is really, really fun. I liked the twist and the turns. The characters were fun. And once again, I love the drama. Big big fan of the drama. Would recommend that you pick this up, Tiffany. It has been such a long day. And I, if I'm being honest with you, Tiffany, am so exhausted.
After I finished this book, Scary Movie Night, I was like, "What do I want to read? What do I want to do?" At that point, the day was almost over. I was tired and I was like, "I want something fun, something cute." And I've kind of just been eyeing this specific book for a while and like been really wanting to dig into it. I was like, you know what?
Take a chance on The Smart Fat Girl. So, I did. I started reading The Long Con.
This is not horror. This isn't even really a thriller if we're being honest.
This is a heist novel, but specifically Tiffany. Specifically, it's a lesbian heist novel. It's so gay, dude. Not only is it just like sappic as hell, it's also enemies to lovers.
Yes, enemies to lovers. And then also it's a heist. They have to like work together even though they hate each other. They're like nemesises, but also at the same time it's like they're also just like both obsessed with the other.
So it's like are you really like enemies or do you just want to [ __ ] Like it just seems like they want to [ __ ] That's basically the novel so far. I'm about 95 pages into it and so far I love it. It's been a little bit of like a slow burn and the romance has really been on like the back burner compared to the heist, but I'm still a living laughing loving dude. These two women are so hot for each other, but also so in denial. And I p personally am obsessed with that. I love it when lesbians are like, "No, I I don't even I don't even like want to kiss her." But also, I did notice that like her hair is gorgeous and shiny and that her lips are really full and plump and look really juicy and soft, but I don't want to kiss her. It's like the most It's the most delusional thing in the especially the main character. The main character will be like, "Well, yeah, I've like memorized her face, but like that's not [ __ ] gay."
She's so in denial. It's insane. Like maybe and like maybe she's actually not in denial. Maybe she knows how gay she is for this other girl for Harper. The main character's name is Chloe and then her like nemesis is Harper. Also, dude, Harper.
Harper is so hot. She's She's so hot.
It's insane how hot she is. I'm having so much fun with this. I'm having so much [ __ ] fun with this book. I'm obsessed with it. I love it. I'm not going to be able to finish it obviously in this vlog, but you will see me talk about it in my July wrap-up. Look forward to that, babe. So far, this is so much fun. I'm really loving it. What kind of annoys me though, if I'm being honest with you, Tiffany, maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. Chloe, our main character, is described as a brown girl, and I think Harper is like a white girl, but the two women on the cover, look very caucasian. They have a lot of cockacity going on, like a lot also a lot of lip filler. No judgment. Love that for you, babe. They both seem kind of white, unless I'm mistaken. And so that kind of annoys me that the character representation on the cover isn't accurate to what's like in the book cuz Chloe is a brown woman. She's got brown skin, but these girlies both have white skin.
[ __ ] it. It's a little weird. It's a little weird. The cover in general, honestly, I'm not a big fan of. I don't really like this cover in my opinion. It doesn't really scream lesbianic to me. I don't know what it screams, but it's not like the vibe of the book does not match this cover. I'm talking so much about this, but I am also glad that it's not like a cartoon cover, though. I'm so sick sick and tired of romance novels just having cartoons on the cover. Like, it was cutesy dudesy and now I'm over it. I'm done. Have you looked in a romance section recently? You go into the romance section and it's like you're watching [ __ ] Teleune. Like you're watching [ __ ] YTV. Do you guys remember that? I feel like that's a very Canadian thing. Like, it's all cartoons on every single cover. And if it's not cartoons, then it's like a [ __ ] skull and it looks like [ __ ] Like, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Or if it's not a skull or a cartoon, it's like a [ __ ] rose, but it's ugly. It's like tacky. I want to see innovation. I want to see innovation, babe. Not that I'm like even a huge romance reader. I love that I'm like demanding these things, but it's like not my demographic. It's like not what I'm like reading consistently. Anyway, oh my gosh, also actually also speaking of I'm really enjoying this and I was like I want more like enemies to lovers slowburn savic romance. Also let you know if any let me know in the comments. I would love to know. And I was like on the internet you know doing research and I saw uh one called wearing hearing red. Was it hearing red? I'll put the cover first of all. It has like 9,000 reviews on good readads. It has like a four. It has like a 4.3 which is crazy. Like it has so many good reviews and I the way I need it the way I need it so badly, but I'm also trying not to buy too many books.
So, I'm trying to like hold off. I'm thinking I might get the audio book for it. It's a sappic enemies to lovers.
Thank you. I'll take it. I'll take [ __ ] 14 of them right now. But also, it's a zombie novel, so she's a little bit of a horror girl.
Listen, I need it. I think I need it. I think I need it. I think I'm going to start that audio book soon. Is when me and my friend went to get FA those salad rolls life-changing. Literally rocked rocked my world. I want to eat salad rolls 100% of the time. I didn't end up making the tofu balls. I think I'm going to make them tomorrow and then film it anyway. Like as like, you know, kind of cheating, but who cares? Who cares? I'm going to film it anyway um and show you the process cuz I didn't have time today to do it. I'll show you tomorrow.
Hopefully, they turn out good. If they don't, because honestly, I just got inspired by a photo I saw on Pinterest.
The photo looks so good that I was like, I want to eat that. I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm just kind of winging it. Anyway, okay, that's the end of this reading vlog. Thank you so much, Tiffany. If you have stuck around to the end, let me know down below in the comments what you thought of these two books. Let me know if you have any sappic enemies to lovers, Rex. It doesn't really matter the genre. It could be romance, it could be horror, it could be sci-fi, whatever. Just give me sappic [ __ ] dude. Also, don't forget to hit subscribe cuz we talk about spooky [ __ ] I talk about creepy [ __ ] We talk about scary movie birthday parties and lesbians and [ __ ] Thank you so much, Tiffany. Also, don't forget to check out Ann and Louisa. Click the link in the description. Save some money. Get some beautiful, gorgeous jewelry. And I will see you in my next one. I hope you have a wonderful day. Bye. Goodbye, Tiffany.
Take care. It's been so good seeing you.
You look stunning. Okay. Bye. I'll see you later. Bye.
>> I love you.
