This high-minded moralizing mistakes tactical passivity for spiritual superiority, offering a luxury of conscience that those in the actual trenches can rarely afford. It prioritizes the aesthetic of "honor" over the messy, necessary reality of political survival.

What do you think about Scott Jennings EXPLODING at Adam Mockler?Added:
I'm sure you've all heard of this thing that happened on CNN a little while ago.
It made a lot of news. It got a lot of attention.
A lot of it went viral. Various clips of it went viral. Bottom line is they're on this show Adam Mockler and Scott Jennings are a member of a panel a table panel discussion panel and they're talking about Trump and they're talking about Republicans and Democrats and they're talking and talking and talking. And everybody's saying a lot and I don't know how much anybody's actually listening to the other but but that's not what the show is about. The show is about getting people worked up and and and having an argument and so in the middle of this argument they have got Scott Jennings is sitting right beside Adam Mockler. Adam Mockler is a very very well informed and articulate young man person. We're just going to call it person because he does he he is young and he looks young and so that comes up a lot. So he's a very articulate and and thoughtful I think and and informed person. He's able to express himself really well and he's able to carry he's able to to carry a debate. He's able to carry an argument and he's able to come up with facts that will back it back it up. Anyway, he's beside Scott Jennings.
Scott Jennings is doing what Scott Jennings always does which is basically poo poo things, right? He's he's just he doesn't really have any kind of argument and so all he does is is dismiss and deflect and straw man.
And I don't know maybe you love Scott Jennings. If you can get something can't I don't get anything out of him. I I don't find he ever has anything that I'm like oh I'm informed by that. It's never it's always something that is just Usually it's a it's a critique of the person as opposed to what it is the person saying. Bottom line is Adam Mockler talks like me. His hands are flying all around. He must have He probably has some French in him somewhere.
The French used their hands a lot when they parlay. Anyhow, one point Scott Jennings That's actually at this point I'm not going to play the clip. But at this point Scott Jennings says, "Get your your hands out of my face."
Now, that has gone That has gone viral.
Everywhere. Everybody's heard about this. If you haven't heard about it, I'm really surprised. It's all over X. It's all over YouTube. It's all over It's everywhere. It It The news has This panel has become news.
And and and I don't know if there's going to be any punishment for Scott Jennings for saying that kind of thing.
He didn't just say it. He actually leans into him, which to me is a sign of aggression that whatever Mockler was saying really got under his skin. Um and and he leaned into him.
And again, if I was sitting at the table and somebody leans into me like that, that's a that's a fighting stance.
But you know what? That's that's me That's me judging, diagnosing what's transpiring.
I wasn't there. I can only tell you what I saw.
Because it's made news and and Adam Mockler has used this to his benefit, fair enough. It's helping get the word out. It's helping get his argument out.
It's helping get getting that clip seen.
Um one of the things he said in one of the many clips of him talking about this, he said, "You know, I'm sick of the double standard.
I'm sick of the double standard." And and then he goes on to talk about how, you know, we should be able to be the same. If If he's able to do that, why can't we? If he's able to talk like that, why can't we? If he's able to to dismiss people and why can't we?
And you know, again, we've had this conversation. I'm going to this might be probably the the thing that I talk about most in this channel.
It's not a race to the bottom, folks.
So, yeah, there's a double standard.
Absolutely. I'm not arguing that. I believe there is. I think there absolutely is a double standard in media. I think they hold conservatives to a different standard than they hold liberals. I think they hold Donald Trump to a much different standard than they hold Joe Biden to a much lower standard than they hold Joe Biden. I think there is. I think that that that is the case.
Don't know why. Maybe maybe conservatives consume more news than we do. Maybe conservatives consume more media than than a progressive or a liberal does.
But I I agree there is a double standard. I I'm not I'm not pooh-poohing that. I'm not saying he's wrong.
It It's It's there.
Okay? It's absolutely there. I I know here in Canada CBC, which is I think quite fair, they get pounded all the time because oh, they're pro-liberal.
Uh whereas nobody says a word about CTV.
Uh maybe it's because one is one is publicly funded and the other isn't. I I I don't know.
All I'm saying is there is a double standard. I agree with that.
What I do not agree with is sinking to their level. I do not agree with wanting the same rights that they have.
Because I don't want to be like them, right? So, when we say, "Oh, I can't believe Scott Jennings was able to threaten somebody on TV like that." Or Scott Jennings was able to tell somebody off on TV like that. If a liberal had done that, they never would have accepted it. I I Yeah.
But I don't want to tell people off like that.
And I don't want I don't want the people that that profess to believe the same things that I do to say those kinds of things, to be those kinds of ways.
I'm going to use mer machine language, bear with me, okay?
But if I've got a problem with somebody because they're being an ass, my answer to them being an ass shouldn't be being an ass.
And I've cleaned that up a little bit.
My answer should be being better.
Okay? Not being an ass. As a matter of fact, when I'm in their presence, when I have to work with them, when I have to to appear with them, when I have to debate them, when I have to talk to them, I'm going to do everything I can to to be different, to be better. I am not going to be an ass because if let's just follow me on this.
If that person we disagree with is being an ass, and in order to defeat that person, I decide I'm going to be an ass, and I do, as an ass, I defeat them, what's the world stuck with?
An ass.
Same as they had before.
It might be an ass from a from a different political leaning, but you're still an ass.
Don't be an ass.
Be better. Be something be something beyond, be something above that.
Yeah, there's a double standard, and and yes, it's hard to deal with.
>> [snorts] >> Maybe see it as a blessing.
Maybe see it that the media is going to hold left-leaning people to a higher standard.
Good.
Good. Because now we can listen for them to tell us, and maybe hmm maybe we can go in those different directions. Maybe we know, okay, because of that, we must be touching on something. I'm not saying we have to change. I'm not saying we have to change at all, but maybe we can look at it and say, okay, this is a litmus test for us. Whenever conservatives get upset because of something we've done. We we've touched a nerve. That's a good thing. So, we've touched a nerve. Maybe we're we're instigating. We're we're a catalyst for change in this moment. So, we we can keep going along this path.
Listen when the public says, "I I don't like this rhetoric of yours." Because it it might be that we're actually tuning people turning people off.
The world doesn't need any more asses.
The world doesn't need another Scott Jennings.
The world does not need another Scott Jennings.
The world needs more thoughtful people, more informed people, uh more people who who who don't just, you know, who don't just schlep around for their party. The world needs more people who are at least trying to be honest.
It's hard.
It's really really really hard.
But if you defeat your enemy with your enemy's tactics, you have become your enemy.
In which case, why would you ever why were you ever trying to defeat them in the first place?
If you adopt the weapons and the strategy of your enemy, you have become your enemy. If you adopt the weapons and the strategy of that which you despise, you become that which you despise.
At the end of the day, I can't inspire people to build a world that is loving and progressive by adopting hateful, angry methodology and mediums.
I can't do it.
I can only do it with honor, and I can only do it with love. I can only do it with thoughtfulness and sincerity and authenticity.
I I cannot inspire a world of love by using anger, hatred, vitriol, certainly not bigotry. I I I cannot I cannot inspire a world of love and and progression, a world of provision by well, by using vitriol and and by well by adopting the ways of those who would stand against a world like that.
I can't.
We can't.
And so you know, and I and I hear other people will say this, "Oh, no, it's if they can do it, we can do it." I hear it all the time from a lot of a lot of content creators, a lot of podcasters, a lot of pundits that I really do appreciate.
"Oh, we got to take their ways, we got to do it their way. If they can do it, we can do it. What's good for the goose is good for the gander." No.
No, at the end of the day, all I've got is me.
All I've got is what I carry with me.
And and if I have to resort to their level I might get exactly what I want in the world but I will have become the monster.
I will have become the monster that I that I that despise. that I despise.
I won't do that.
We can't do that.
Amen.
