And you may have heard recently that people aren't too happy with us turning our iconic Google search box into an AI chat box that prioritizes AI answers and pushes the organic search results further down the page. Huh. But I don't see why that's a problem. We were already pushing down the web pages people wanted to see with a great feature called ads. Beautiful ads. People are also annoyed that the AI could give inaccurate results. Again, why is that a problem? We didn't give you accurate results before. We just base results on a rigorous test of who paid the most for SEO. And to add insult to injury, not only has the AI taken over answering your questions, it's even taken over the job of asking the questions for you with its smart ass autofill, but this is the future now.

[00:01:20]And let me assure you things are better this way. Like for example, many people searched for the word disregard and saw that the definition is understood. Let me know whenever you have a new prompt or question. Oh, sorry. Uh AI thought that you were giving it a prompt, not looking up the word that you were looking up. But don't worry, you can still get the dictionary definition after scrolling past this huge empty box. And we call this area the big functionally useless area. I think it got there when I middle cllicked.

[00:01:57]Anyway, there are people out there who actually love our changes. not our customers but our competitors. As traffic to DuckDuck Go's special AI free search page has increased almost 30% recently and downloads of the DuckDuck Go app on phones surged up around 30%.

[00:02:18]Especially on iPhones that peaked at a 70% increase. But what if I told you that if it looks like a duck and quash like a duck that it's actually not a duck? as Tuck Duck Go's results are heavily based on Bing's index. That's right. All this time you thought you were getting better results than Google when they're just shoveling mostly Microsop on your plate. And if you think that's bad, it's map search is based on Apple Maps in all its spaghetti glory.

[00:02:51]Luckily, Duck Duck was smart enough not to use Apple intelligence for their AI features. Heck, even Apple doesn't use Apple intelligence, and they'll be paying us for our Google Gemini to make Siri smarter. Anyway, yes, the standard Duck Duck.Go page does have their own duck.ai, but it's optional and not obligatory. And that's what people keep telling us. Stop being obligate. And so, this is all a big lesson, everyone. We have to be careful about AI as it poses an existential threat to humanity. No, to Google. Much more important. As with everyone now seeking alternatives, Duck Duck Go has risen to take up 2% of the market. Oh, okay. WE'LL BE FINE. THE ALL NEW Google AI slop engine. If you want us just to disregard AI, well, I'm sorry, but we don't know the meaning of the word.
