Modern retail stores often fail to maintain adequate inventory levels for common items, forcing customers to wait for products that should be readily available, which wastes time and creates frustration for consumers.

Shops have evolved into treasure hunting playgrounds wasting my time. 25th May 26.Added:
Good day.
It's the It's the 25th of May, 2029. It's a really good day. It was 27° at 4:00 today.
The government is has a grant for farmers for fuel and it has to be in tomorrow evening.
No, no little bit of um explain or a little bit of time or reasonable time. And that's the fuel protest. And I remember years ago they were out a a scheme for uh having a a vehicle off the road. If you don't declare it off the road, you have to tax it. And if you don't tax it, you have to sell it. You can't you can't keep it.
And there was Fina Gale and Fina Fall and Shinfane supporters in the council offices and they were down the whole road, no toilet facilities or nothing queuing to get the cars off the road.
And the government at the time was like it was now. I think it was Green and Fina Fall. No, I think Finneel was in power with Fina Fall and they refused to to extend it.
If you're from from Timbuktu, they'd extend it, but not for the Irish people. And the vote increased the next year. And that's what I'm constantly saying. The only way to get Patty to vote for you is abuse him. Make him stand around. I saw old women of 89 waiting to get them cars to the vehicles that would need to be declared off the road.
That time you just let it lapse and you could go back in and tax it and you get signed by the guard of the police. Anyway, that's the situation. I saw that before. Here we have the fuel grant. They only give us it's only announced at the weekend. four or five three or four days two working days that'll get them more votes for Fina and finale and I hear nothing out of Shinfane about it either now another huge problem is getting messages in shops and going and getting things and I'm finding the shops are absolutely incapable of having what's known as an inventory I told you before I was once in the guard and Irish police and every half You put in a requisition of stationary, you said what you needed.
Certain books were in high demand, but instead of bringing them out to you, they bring out other ones costing €200, all leather bound because somebody was making money on it and you could not change it. It was impossible to stop the books coming and they were all brought out to the local dump and dumped in the dump. There was a room in a station where I was the sergeant and we couldn't get into it. It took four runs with the with the boot of a patrol car to get some of the books out and dumped them.
Some of them were there for 40 years.
Brand new registers in government completely incapable of stopping the production because somebody was making money from producing them. You know, there'll be some books you might only have 15 entries in a year. There be some books like the register of dogs seized.
There might only be two registers. And I'd say most guards at the moment wouldn't know what a register of dog sees seized are. It's an obsolete concept.
So that's that. You go into tool shops.
You can't get the tools. I went into a place selling a big tool place and uh there was a roll of uh what do you call it? Uh propane, you know, LPG gas coil.
A big coil of it which you can buy what you need it. If you're using gas for a workshop, you might only need three meters. You don't need if you have 20 meters, you're losing gas in the pipe.
Takes gas to fill up the pipe.
So, uh, I was looking after what up as you stamped on it. So, I went I went up down again and it wasn't stamped on. It went up again and he got a price for me at 13 per meter.
So I went out and came back and I came in again and I waited till he was away and I got another lead and it turned out it was only 420 a meter. Don't give a damn. But the point the point about it is that they won't order stuff up as it's needed. Shops maybe you want a packet of tissues. No, we're having them this week. We'll have them next week.
We'll order them in for you. I mean if you go into a convenience store and you want tissues, surely you have a runny nose, you want them then. They're a very common item. You can't get them. There's another thing too. Now, I have a sore back as I told you and I have a new policy now. I'm a farmer with cows and up until now in my life, I was lifting the livestock. If if if the need arose to lift a calf and I was told by a wise man, he was supposed to be a wise man when I was a kid, that if you kept lifting a calf, if you got a newborn calf and lifted him every day, when he'd be a bull, you could still lift him because you'd become accustomed to him.
I never achieved it because I never managed to lift the calf every day. But anyway, I was to lift cal cattle. I'm quitting now. I hurt my back and it's coming on good. You'll be glad to know.
But one of the things about it is uh that um I uh it takes a lot of your energy. Now, this is the ointment that was prescribed by the vet uh here. Uh and it's some Richie Muscle Rub Naturally effective essential oils in soothing balm BM.
Oh, what's that? It's something to do with oils and essential oils, isn't it?
Something to alleviate muscle damage, tendon strain, and swelling. It's good.
It's good. Oh, it's good. Great smell of it. You know, there's other stuff called other cream as well. um says here again you won't get this too often uh a skin conditioner and unique water-based formula bandages can be applied immediately after application I don't need bandages it's just I strain the muscle in my lower back and if I I'll tell you when it really hurts if I was walking along a foot path in a town and a step down if I was looking up in the air and a step down lower oh that's very sore you know can also be used to keep muscles super su p I wonder how Many people today would know what that means. And it contains a blend of peppermint, eucalyptus, calandula, and tea tree oils.
Doesn't sound deep might be actually better. Store in a cool place.
Sorry. Store in a cool place. Uh keep subject from uh show jumping wouldn't be show jumping.
racing pacing.
Abstain from S E I can't make that out. It got rubbed. S E U L activity during treatment. Must be SED. Said that if it is sed must be serial activity.
S E R U L. Anyway, it says rub v ri v ri v ri v ri v ri v ri v ri v ri v ri v ri vigorously into the fetlocks. What? Fet fetlocks? What's that? I I don't know anymore. Anyway, there's another thing.
Now, I do take a few paracetamols, particularly before I get up out of bed because getting up can be sore, would it?
Go to the local convenience store. Two packets of these. We can't give you two.
That was old crappy one. Mary white above me that the youngsters was dosing themselves. If they're that bloody bad, let them How are you going to stop them dosing themselves? You give them a packet in one shop and they go up to the next and they buy two packets. You could buy 20 packets in different shops and I can't buy two.
So, if they're that prone to take these things to kill themselves, what are you going to do about it?
And nanny state big time. Anyway, it is a fierce time lost. And I cannot understand why the big shops uh you know you go into some of them like Super Value or even Littleles or any of them they can't have a thing up on the on the where you could put in your product and they tell you where it is and they keep changing it. One day one day the the the the shaving cream is in one spot and the next day it's moved somewhere else. And these managers think this is this is clever and no one ever checks them or nobody ever asks the customer what do they think of it.
The level of ignorance is abysmal. And then the way many shops deal with this, they buy a huge inventory. They buy so much stuff that there has to be a a couple of bottles of shaving cream in there instead of realizing that the computer should tell you. I know you couldn't have staff going around checking, but it wouldn't cost too much to have somebody constantly checking and see what's going. Surely if that's on the stock on the inventory on the computer, the in computer could flash when there's only six cans left and order up that. God be good to my father.
He he uh he worked in in in in a big place uh doing the auto electrician and ordering the parts and repairing lries and making sure they were ready to go.
And he got hurt and he had to go to a different place, another big place. And he was there for a good few years and he retired. There was a due for him and he retired. And when before he retired the inventory or the the the the carmen, you know, the commercial travelers, they were grand. The amount of spent was quite sensible. Proper boats, UNF, BSF, you'd hear him on about them. And he'd buy in the welding rods and everything would be there. So that there was never no no one ever had to go to up to town to get welding rods. They were all bought in and there was a store there which he was in charge of. When he retired, they put someone else in charge and the place went belubus. They were selling them big big things that had never be used. Seven or eight buckets, bags of bolts that had never be used.
Next thing the the the the one of the founders of the company come out to him one day. I remember him coming out.
Would you go back in on a tourist and we'll put all the commercial travelers to meet you on Thursday. So he used to go in every tourist and he'd meet the travelers and they wouldn't be happy because they'd want to sell a lorry load of some kind of a a rare clip or something.
But um anyway that was the way that went. So this is a problem and it's a level of ignorance. All the education and everything else uh uh uh has not benefited. The Japanese went to just in in in time inventory system for making their cars which is not working out so well now. They would have and the others coming as they were needed. The materials was brought in only as they were as they were using them. But they were replaced in time. There's no point in saying we'll have it next week. If you go in for a thing on a on a Friday morning and you have staff working there and you want some kind of a drill bit, we'll have it next wedding staff, that's no good.
If you have to pay those staff 4 days wages while that's coming, that's no good.
Anyway, I can't say anymore.
As an example, in Dun stores, I have big feet and they used to have socks uh most socks are 6 to 11. And this is the Chinese women. It's embedded in their small brains that all feet are 6 to 11, but I need 11 to 13 and they will fit me. And if you have an 11 to 13, you're pulling them on and pulling them off.
And Dun Stores used to have them. When they got the stock in, I got a few pairs. And when I were back about a month later, there was none. Everyone had them bought. and done stores is incapable of understanding that if there's a high demand, if there's a high demand for large socks, they should be getting bigger shock socks from China.
The ones they get are comfortable and cheap and they're nice on the feet, but you get maybe eight days. You see, I'd be doing huge mileage. You'd be I'd have a lot of good hardy type work, hopping up and down on the tractor and things like that and chasing cattle. So the point about is wouldn't be long till the the the toes would be coming out toward the front. But that's not a problem, but they can't keep a stock of them. They can't keep them when the winter's coming on. If you want a pair of long johns, ah, we didn't get them yet. We'll have them maybe for Christmas. That they have no idea that the thing needs to be got now. So on a farm and in my dwelling and everything, I always have a stock of what I need. There's certain things I need. I wouldn't be got without certain stuff.
But that's the thing about the about the piping I needed.
They were unable to to check it or get it or understand what it is. And the youngsters don't have a clue, men or women. There's a lot of women in these places now that don't seem to understand what these things are about. There's no inservice training to instruct people how to how to um understand what's needed.
Now, I do agree some of the things I'd be buying might be rare enough. They wouldn't make much money on me. I'd be buying the things that needed, but you only need a small stock.
Those old harbor shops long ago and they'd have everything. So, that's the way it's gone now. Um, you see on the sizes, people are are better fed. Better fed. I know from the old sheds I have around my farm, little doors, they were only short we people. We're better fed.
We're better growth. But the cat is still treating us as if we're little people.
And then you go into the convenience stores and sometimes you get a change of ownership or a change of management. And what they put around the door is 8 or 900 ton of hunky dory crisps. The greatest old junk you could eat. Hunky dory crisps and all these old patented crisp imitations. And they'll buy in the big bags that size. Now that's all right if you're having a party for kids maybe a birthday party you get a couple of big bottles of my wadi and maybe a few crystal you have to some we bit a novelty but they are talking about the half the shop taken up with our uh like real junk like what the potato crisp is junk really but but if you go to the variations of it like the hunky dory that's real junk that's just fizzle it's just kind of like like foam and that yet that's what they have by the ton.
You go in for a beer, you want a bottle of smithics, maybe maybe just one. They won't sell it to you as one. Yet every beer from from Europe is there.
Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, uh places you never heard of and you never heard tell of Montenegro and By Belly Bucky and German and Germany and Pillsner and Satchin pills and all this out crap and that's there and nobody's buying it. Coronas and nobody's buying it. You want an Irish beer, you can't get it. You might get a can of Guinness.
You will probably get a can of Guinness.
You won't get smithics except in a packet maybe of 10 which is a a handy red ale there if you have a thirst nice enough a bottle of it or a can of it won't get it you won't get a bottle some of the of the beers that are common but you'll get all of the Eastern European why are they pushing the Eastern European beers for the last 10 years and very very few ever buy it and it's not been bought and the response to the shops is if it's not been bought we'll put more up there and when the date runs out, they throw it in the dump or spill it out and they get more of the same or it'll sell this time.
Isn't that right? Does anyone notice that? Are there any other examples of it? Imagine you can't I can't to get me back, right? I want to I want to have a packet at my main house and a packet at the farm. I can't buy them. Can't buy them. Refuse them.
Folks, it's a mad world. It's a mad world. And after the two recent election, it's not going to get any better. Do you remember that Mary White?
She was a TD. I think she was fighting G was she's the one stop the Oh, she had a big thing on RTE. Oh, we'll stop the farmers getting getting tablets. But the thing about it is anyway, as far as I'm concerned, I'm finished lifting cattle up. I will not lift any cow up again.
They're too heavy. Cow cow could be could be 800 kilos. I'm not fit for that anymore. We'll see you back soon, folks.
Comment underneath. I might.
