Deep pressure stimulation activates proprioceptors located between bones and muscles, which send calming signals to the brain's limbic system, helping to reduce heart rate and breathing, and thereby helping the body exit the fight or flight response to make emotional regulation easier.

Deep Pressure & Anxiety Explained追加:
So, this green part here is the limbic system. It does so many things that I totally remember, but most importantly it controls your emotions. And this blue part here that I'm really hoping I got in the right place is the reticular formation. And basically what this does is send sensory information to the right place. They are best friends. They talk all the time. Basically when our nervous system is high alert, it's going to make our heart rate go up and it's going to make our breathing go up. That's what we call the fight or flight mode. And as we know when we're in that fight or flight mode, really hard to regulate our emotions. In between our bones and our muscles, we have little receptors called proprioceptors. Things like deep pressure, hugging, pulling, hitting, carrying is going to activate these receptors. These receptors are going to send information to our brain nice and safe. And that is going to talk to our limbic system. So, with the activation of these receptors, our heart rate's going to go down, our breathing's going to go down, and we're going to get out of that fight or flight mode. And it's going to be way easier for our emotions to regulate and to process.
