[00:00:57]Today we are breaking down Redeemed by Roosevelt, a brand new song, a new single I guess off of an upcoming album um that has not been dropped as of this recording. I'm looking forward to this album though because this single is amazing, incredible. It's fresh. Um Killer Squad on here. So, um let's dive into it. We're in the key of D flat. And this song is really simple. It's um verse, precourse, chorus, and a bridge.

[00:01:26]Yeah. So, four sections really. Um and we'll get through this. It's really easy. It's more [music] like rhythmic complexity than kind of chord and harmony. The chords are very simple. Uh so, let's start with the verse or actually let's start with the intro.

[00:01:41][music] Intro is the same thing as a verse actually.

[00:01:47]>> [music] >> So chords are so so simple. We got the four 6 [music] 5 4.

[00:01:59]Walking [singing] in purpose, right? Four, six, [music] five. Simple.

[00:02:08]I don't need to waste too much time. Um, and all we're doing is that we're playing this rhythmic pattern. It's eighth notes. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and Right.

[00:02:25]So intro, you're just playing it straight through. No breaks, no cuts.

[00:02:28][music] But when we get to the verse, we break on the five. 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1. Second time around. 3 4 1 2 and 3 4 1 2 3 [music] My it break. All right. And then we're into the chorus [music] which starts on the one or sorry precourse. Um so that's pretty much all the main sections. The only thing we need to cover now is a bridge. But let's like keep walking through the song. We did the intro, verse the same progression, precourse, chorus, um, intro, then back into verse two.

[00:03:13]Only thing that I would do different like is if I'm playing and approaching this song is if in verse one I'm cuz the really the guitar is is playing rhythmically and the keyboard we're just eching what the guitars are doing, right?

[00:03:35]>> [music] >> So if the guitar is doing that, well, I might play the same thing in the intro and verse one, but then verse two, if they're still playing that pattern, I'm going to more so start just playing playing the chords, right?

[00:03:49]>> [music] >> more so because I just want to fill out the space harmonically.

[00:03:57][music] [music] [music] So, I'll probably just play chords and then really try to color in in verse two just to add some more fullness and add more like u emotion.

[00:04:21]And because we're telling a story, we want it to build. It's a really simple progression. So, I don't want to do the same exact thing that I did in verse one and verse two. I'm going to try to do something slightly different that's going to give it a different feel and it's going to make it feel more full.
