Day 2 : Speak English in 30 Days! 99 Sentences Shadowing Practice | English Podcast
Added:[music] You understand English when you listen.
But when someone asks you a question, your mind goes blank. You freeze. You translate in your [music] head. You worry about mistakes. Today that changes. Welcome back to day two of English podcast [music] where we don't just learn English, we speak English. Hello everyone. Welcome back to SpeakUp [music] Sessions English podcast. I'm Massu, your English teacher and friend. If you're watching this right now, I'm so proud of you. [music] You came back for day two. That means you're serious about speaking English fluently, [music] and that's amazing.
Today, we're going to practice 99 real English sentences that [music] you can use every single day. We'll talk, we'll listen, we'll repeat, and most importantly, we'll build your confidence. And I'm not alone today. My friend Fizu is here with me. Fizu, [music] how are you feeling today?
>> Hi, Mile. Hi, everyone. To be honest, I'm a little nervous. [music] Yesterday was day one, and I learned a lot, but I still feel like I can't speak quickly.
My brain, it translates everything first. You know, like someone says, "How are you?" and I think in my language first, then I try to say it in English.
[music] It's slow.
>> Fizu, that is so normal. Actually, most English learners do exactly the same thing. But here's the good news. The more you practice speaking, the less [music] you translate. Your brain starts thinking in English naturally. And that's exactly what we're doing today.
We're [music] training your brain with real conversations, real sentences, and real life situations. Are you ready?
>> Yes, I'm ready. Let's do this.
>> Perfect. All right, [music] everyone.
Grab your headphones, sit comfortably, and let's start speaking English together. Don't worry about mistakes.
[music] Just listen, repeat, and enjoy.
Let's go. Okay, Fizu, let's start with something simple. Imagine we just [music] met today. I'm going to ask you some basic questions and you answer naturally. [music] Don't think too much, just speak. Ready?
>> Okay, I'll try.
>> Good morning, Fizu. How are you today?
>> Good morning, Misu. I'm I'm good.
[music] How are you?
>> I'm doing great, thank you. So, tell me, what did you do yesterday?
>> Yesterday, um [music] I I study English, I watch video, and I uh I eat dinner with my family.
>> Awesome. [music] Okay, Fizu, listen. You did great. But let me help you sound more natural.
[music] When we talk about yesterday, we use the past tense. So instead of I [music] study, we say I studied. Instead of I watch, we say I watched. And [music] instead of I eat, we say I ate.
Let's try again. What did you do yesterday?
>> Oh, okay. Yesterday I studied [music] English. I watched a video and I ate dinner with my family.
>> Perfect. See, that sounds [music] so natural now. You're already improving.
Now let me ask you, do you like studying English?
>> Yes, I like it, but sometimes [music] it's difficult. I want to speak fluently, but I make many mistakes.
>> Fizu, listen [music] to me. Mistakes are not bad. Mistakes are proof that you are trying. Every time you make a mistake, you learn something new. Native speakers also make mistakes sometimes. [music] So don't be afraid. The most important thing is to keep speaking. Okay.
>> Okay. Thank you, Massu. I feel better now. [music] >> Good. All right, everyone. Did you notice how Fizu improved in just a few seconds? That's the power of practice.
Now, let's move to a longer conversation. [music] Okay, Fizu. Now, I want to have a real conversation with you. Imagine we're friends [music] and we're talking about our weekend plans. I'll start and you respond [music] naturally. Don't worry about being perfect. Just speak from your heart. Ready? Yes, I'm ready.
>> So, Fizu, this [music] weekend is coming soon. Do you have any plans?
>> H, this weekend? Actually, [music] I don't have big plans. I think I will stay at home. Maybe I will watch some movies. What about you, Massu? Do you have plans?
>> Oh, that sounds relaxing. [music] I like staying at home, too. For me, I'm planning to visit my friend. [music] We're going to have lunch together at a new restaurant. I'm really excited because I heard the food there is amazing.
>> [music] >> Have you ever tried a new restaurant and loved it?
>> Yes. Last month I went to a new restaurant with my brother. The food was delicious. I ordered pasta and my [music] brother ordered pizza. We talked a lot and we laughed. It was a very good day.
>> That's wonderful. I love those kinds of days. You know, Fizu, when you talk [music] about happy memories, your English sounds so natural. You didn't translate. You just spoke from your feelings. [music] That's the secret.
When you stop thinking too much, your English flows. Do you feel that?
>> Yes, actually I do feel it. When I talk about [music] things I like, it's easier. But when someone asks me a difficult question, I freeze.
>> That's very [music] common. And the solution is simple. Practice easy conversations like this every [music] day. The more you practice, the more confident you become. Even difficult questions will feel easy later. [music] Trust the process.
>> Okay, I trust you, Massu. Let's keep practicing.
>> That's the spirit. All right, everyone.
Let's practice [music] some real life situations. Now, these are conversations you will use every day. Listen [music] carefully and repeat after us. Now, we're going to practice different real life situations. These are conversations you need every day at [music] a restaurant, with friends, shopping, and more. Fizu and I will act them out, [music] and you listen and repeat. Let's start. Situation one. at [music] a restaurant. Imagine you're at a restaurant. The waiter comes to your table. [music] Let's practice.
>> Good evening. Welcome to our restaurant.
Are you ready to order?
>> Good [music] evening. Yes, I'm ready.
Can I have a chicken sandwich and a glass of orange juice, please?
>> Of course. Would you like fries [music] with that?
>> Yes, please. That sounds great.
>> Perfect. Your order will be ready in about 10 minutes.
>> Thank you so much. See, simple and polite. [music] Now, Fizu, let's switch.
You be the customer and I'll be the waiter. Hello. [music] Welcome. Are you ready to order?
>> Yes. Um, can I have a pizza, please?
>> Sure. Which pizza would you like? We have cheese, pepperoni, and veggie pizza.
>> Oh, I want cheese pizza, please.
>> Great choice. Anything to drink?
>> Yes. Uh, water, please.
>> Perfect. I'll bring it soon.
>> Thank you.
>> Excellent. Fizu, you see, ordering food in English is easy. Just be polite, speak clearly, and don't worry about being perfect. Situation two, talking to a friend. Now, let's practice a friendly conversation. Imagine you meet your friend on the street.
>> Hey, Massu. Long time no see. How have you been?
>> Hey, Fizu. I've been good, thanks. I've been really busy with work, but I'm happy. How about you? What have you been up to? I've been learning English.
Actually, I'm watching this great podcast every day. It's helping me a lot.
>> That's awesome. I'm so proud of you.
Learning a new language is not easy, but you're doing it. Keep going.
>> Thank you. You always encourage me. By the way, do you want to grab coffee sometime?
>> I'd love that. How about this Saturday?
>> Saturday works for me. Let's meet at 3 p.m.
>> Perfect. See you then.
>> See you, Misu.
>> Great job, Fizu. This is how friends talk in English. Natural, relaxed, and friendly. Did everyone hear how we used phrases like long time no see? And how have you been? These are super useful.
All right, now let's go shopping. Fizu, you're the customer and I'm the shop assistant. Good afternoon. How can I help you today?
>> Good afternoon. I'm looking for a t-shirt.
>> Sure. What size do you need?
>> Um, medium, please.
>> Great. What color do you like? We have black, white, blue, and red.
>> I like blue. Can I see the blue one?
>> Of course. Here it is. Would you like to try it on?
>> Yes, please. Where is the fitting room?
>> It's right over there on the left.
>> Thank you.
>> You're welcome. Perfect. Fizu, shopping in English is very simple when you know these phrases. Can I see? Where is? I'm looking for. These are super helpful.
Situation four. Asking for help. Now, let's practice asking for help. Imagine you're lost and you need directions.
>> Excuse me, can you help me?
>> Of course. What do you need?
>> I'm looking for the train station. Do you know where it is?
>> Yes, it's very close. Go straight for two blocks, then turn left. You'll see it on your right.
>> Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
>> No problem. Have a great day.
>> You too.
>> See, don't be afraid to ask for help.
People will always help you. Situation five, meeting new people. Now, let's practice meeting someone new. Fizu, imagine we just met at a party.

>> Hi, Fizu. I'm Massu. Nice to meet you, too. So, what do you do?
>> I'm a student. I'm studying business.
How about you?
>> Oh, interesting. I'm an English teacher.
I help people learn English every day.
>> That's amazing. Actually, I'm learning English right now. It's challenging, but I enjoy it.
>> That's great. If you ever need help, feel free to ask me.
>> Thank you. I really appreciate that.
>> Anytime. Beautiful. When you meet new people, just be polite, ask questions, and listen. It's that simple. Okay, Fizu, you're doing so well. Let's move to the listen and repeat section now.
All right, everyone. This is the most important part for your speaking practice. I'm going to say useful English sentences and I want you to repeat after me. Speak out loud. Don't be shy. Fizu will repeat with you, too.
Ready? Let's go. Good morning.

>> I don't give up.
>> I believe in myself. I believe in myself.
>> Wow, Fizu, you did amazing. Everyone, did you repeat those sentences out loud?
If not, rewind and do it again.
Repetition is the key to fluency. The more you repeat, the more natural your English becomes. Great job. All right, now let's learn some super useful vocabulary. These are words and phrases you'll use every day. I'll explain each one in simple English, give you an example, and Fizu will ask questions.
Let's start. Word one, plan. The word is plan. A plan is something you decide to do in the future. For example, I have a plan to study English every day. Fizu, do you have a plan for tomorrow?
>> Yes, my plan is to practice English for 30 minutes.
>> Perfect. That's a great plan. Word two, fluently. The word is fluently. When you speak fluently, it means you speak smoothly and easily without stopping too much. For example, I want to speak English fluently. Fizu, do you want to speak fluently?
>> Yes, that's my goal. But right now, I still think too much when I speak.
>> That's okay. The more you practice, the more fluently you'll speak. Trust me.
Word three, appreciate. The word is appreciate. When you appreciate something, it means you are thankful for it. For example, I really appreciate your help. Fizu, can you use this word in a sentence?
>> Um, I appreciate this English lesson.
>> Aw, thank you, Fizu. I appreciate you, too. Word for confidence. The word is confidence. Confidence means believing in yourself. When you have confidence, you feel strong and sure. For example, I'm building my confidence in speaking English. Fizu, do you feel more confident now?
>> Yes, I feel more confident than yesterday. This practice really helps.
>> That's wonderful. Confidence grows with practice. Word five, challenging or challenge. The word is challenging.
Something challenging is difficult but in a good way. It makes you stronger.
For example, learning English is challenging but I enjoy it. Fizu, what's challenging for you in English?
>> For me, pronunciation is challenging.
Some words are difficult to say.
>> That's very common. But you know what?
The more you practice, the easier it becomes. Keep going. Word six, progress.
The word is progress. Progress means improvement. When you make progress, you get better. For example, I'm making progress in English every day. Fizu, are you making progress?
>> Yes, I think I am. I understand more and I can speak a little faster now.
>> Exactly. That's progress. Be proud of yourself. Word seven, practice. The word is practice. Practice means doing something again and again to improve.
For example, I practice speaking English every day. Fizu, how do you practice English?
>> I watch videos like this and I repeat sentences. Sometimes I talk to myself in English.
>> That's perfect. Talking to yourself is a great way to practice. Keep doing that.
All right, those are seven super useful words. Write them down, use them in sentences, and practice them every day.
Vocabulary is power. Okay, everyone.
Now, it's quiz time. I'm going to ask Fizu some simple questions, and he'll try to answer. You can answer, too, at home. Let's see how much we remember.
Ready, Fizu?
>> I'm ready. I'm a little nervous, but let's try.
>> Don't worry, these are easy. Here's the first question. How do you ask for food at a restaurant?
>> Um, can I have a sandwich, please?
>> Perfect. Exactly right. You can say, "Can I have or I'd like?" Both are polite and natural. Question two. If someone asks you, "How are you today?"
What do you say?
>> I say, "I'm good. Thank you. How are you?"
>> Excellent. Always ask back. It's polite and friendly. Question three. What does fluently mean?
>> It means speaking smoothly and easily without stopping too much.
>> Yes, perfect explanation. Fizu, question four. If you want to thank someone, what can you say?
>> I can say thank you so much or I really appreciate it.
>> Beautiful. Both are great. You're doing amazing, Fizu. Question five. What did you do yesterday? Answer in the past tense. Yesterday I studied English. I watched a video and I practiced speaking.
>> Perfect. You used the past tense correctly. I'm so proud of you. Wow, Aizu, you got everything right. And everyone watching, I hope you answered, too. If you made a mistake, don't worry.
Just keep practicing. Let's move to the speaking tips now. All right, everyone.
Now, I want to share five powerful speaking tips with you. These tips will help you speak English more confidently and fluently. Are you ready? Tip one, speak every day. Even if you speak for just 5 minutes, do it every day. You can talk to yourself, repeat sentences, or practice with a friend. Consistency is the secret. Fizu, do you speak English every day?
>> Now I do. I practice with videos like this every day.
>> That's perfect. Keep it up. Tip two, don't be afraid of mistakes. Mistakes are not bad. Mistakes are lessons. Every mistake teaches you something new.
Native speakers make mistakes, too. So, don't worry. Just keep speaking. Fizu, do you feel afraid of mistakes?
>> Yes, sometimes. I worry people will laugh at me.
>> Listen, Fizu, real people respect learners. If someone laughs, they don't matter. Focus on people who support you.
Okay.
>> Okay. Thank you, Masu. I feel better now.
>> Tip three, think in English. Don't translate. This is so important. When you translate in your head, you speak slowly. Instead, try to think in simple English. For example, don't think, how do I say this perfectly? Just say it simply. Practice thinking in English and your brain will get faster. Tip four, use what you learn immediately. When you learn a new word or phrase, use it the same day. Write a sentence, say it out loud, use it in conversation. This helps your brain remember. Fizu, will you use the new words we learned today?
>> Yes, I'll practice them tonight.
>> Excellent. Tip five, be patient with yourself. Learning English takes time.
Some days you'll feel great. Some days you'll feel stuck. That's normal. Don't give up. Progress is not always fast, but it's always happening. Believe in yourself. You will speak fluently. Trust the process.
>> Thank you, Masu. I really needed to hear that.
>> You're welcome, my friend. All right, everyone. Let's quickly summarize what we learned today in day two of SpeakUp Sessions English podcast. First, we practiced simple conversations, asking questions, talking about plans and daily activities. Second, we practiced real life situations like ordering food at a restaurant, talking to friends, shopping, asking for help, and meeting new people. And finally, we did a fun quiz to test what we remembered. And finally, I gave you five speaking tips that will change the way you learn English. Fizu, how do you feel now?
>> Honestly, I feel so much better. At the beginning, I was nervous. I thought I couldn't speak well, but now I feel more confident. I know I still make mistakes, but I'm not afraid anymore. I'm making progress, and that makes me happy.
>> Fizu, I'm so proud of you, and I'm proud of everyone watching this video. You showed up, you practiced, you didn't give up. That's what matters. All right, everyone. That's the end of day two of SpeakUp Sessions English podcast. But before you go, I want to tell you something important. You are not alone in this journey. Millions of people around the world are learning English just like you. Some days are easy, some days are hard. But every single day you practice, you get stronger. Don't compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday. Are you better than yesterday? Even a little bit, then you're winning. Remember, fluency is not about being perfect.
Fluency is about being confident, speaking naturally, and not being afraid. So, here's what I want you to do. First, subscribe to this channel if you haven't already. We're creating a 30-day English speakaking journey, and I don't want you to miss any day. Second, watch this video again. Yes, again, repetition is the mother of skill. The more you listen, the more you learn.
Third, practice today's sentences out loud. Speak to yourself. Speak Third, practice today's sentences out loud.

Speak to your pet. Just speak. Fourth, share this video with someone who's learning English. Help them grow, too.
And finally, believe in yourself. You are capable. You are strong. You will speak English fluently. Tomorrow we'll meet again for day three. We'll learn even more, practice even more, and grow even more together. Thank you so much for being here today. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for not giving up.
I'm Massu and I'll see you tomorrow.
Keep speaking. Keep believing. Keep shining. Goodbye everyone.
>> Goodbye. See you tomorrow.
